I have a Nabi 2
Build number IMM76L
Product Version: 2.0-release-keys
Model Number: NABI2-NV7A
Android Version: 4.0.4
I am trying to follow the guide here but it wont detect my Nabi... I have teamviewer if anyone can help. I have installed the ADB drivers like it said using their tool, i have it in USB Debugging mode. Yet it still shows in the Nabi Lab that it does not detect it. I can see the nabi under My Computer, and device manager is showing This.
PLEASE HELP. I need the gapps so bad lol.

If you have PDAnet installed it will be in driver cache. Should be able to start driver update, "browse my computer", "let me pick from files", and then select one. I forget what PDAnets are called. Galaxy or something?

Hi, I am trying to root my Nabi 2, but whichever package I use, jmz, nabiroot etc, my pc (Win 7 64bit), will not recognise the Nabi 2. I have repeatedly tried installing drivers to the Nabi (pdanet, nabiroot drivers etc) but it refuses to do it. I am wondering if this is because my nabi has updated to version 2.0, and the rooting packages all seem to require 1.9.37. Is this likely to be the issue? If so what should I do?
Any help much appreciated.

No everything should work fine on v2.0.5. Is USB debugging enabled?
Nabi 2 rooting problem
Thanks for replying. Yes debugging is enabled. When I install drivers on the pc it asks for the android device to be plugged in and the device should start installing drivers - this never happens. The Nabi does show up under 'other devices' in device manager but not as an android device.

What device is it fronting on USB? USB\VID_0955&PID_7100&REV_0232&MI_01? Right click device in device manager, details, hardware id's. It should be a problem with PDAnet ones but did you disable driver signature enforcement in case that is somehow coming in to play?

Sorry, should have said - it shows up in portable devices, not other devices. There are two ids:
USB\VID_0955&PID_7100&REV_0232
USB\VID_0955&PID_7100
I did restart using F8 and selected disable driver signatures - do I need to do that every time I restart the pc or will it remain in that state?
Thanks again.

It stays in that state for only that boot, but once the drivers are successfully installed it doesn't matter any more. Have you ever had any other android drivers installed on the system that might be conflicting?

Hi, I did have a driver for my HTC, which I have now uninstalled. I can't see any other android drivers. I tried installing PDANet again, no go. Uninstalled that and tried NabiLab - no go. Uninstalled that again! Is there any hope?!
I flashed up to 4.2.2 the newest 2,2 Liquidsmooth rom, didn't like it, so I wen't to flash back to 4.1 jellybeans build 13. I wiped everything, from, factory, cache/dalvik 3 times and then flashed. I loaded it up and it was buggy, so I wiped and reflashed again, and like the last time I have no signal and my phone no longer connects to my computer. Everytime I plug it in it says installing drivers but it will never connect. I get a message saying there is nothing on my computer to detect my phone even though it could 20 minutes ago. I have an odin stock file I wan't to flash but can't as odin won't recognize it. It makes a sound upon being plugged into my computer and shows up under device manager saying drivers are all up to date but I still get nothing. I can still use twrp though etc. What do I do?
Good luck dude I can't even root my new note because of this issue

I feel lucky that I rooted my phone as soon as i got it and everything went successful. Because like 3 days later my phone stops communicating with the computer...
Thankfully I have a micro sd card so i can do flashable zips... But if I ever have to Odin back to stock or use Odin for anything I'm screwed.
From what I've read it isn't a phone issue is a Windows issue? But I don't know if that's true because i have yet to find a fix...

When Odin wouldn't recognize my phone, I went into device manager (on windows 7) and then clicked update driver under usb on "android device" then I chose choose from list. There were 3 options and I tried the second one and as soon as it installed Odin recognized immediately.

Thanks! Simple, but it worked for me, too. Took about 2 seconds to find it and install it.
Windows did need to update a driver first on its own so that it would have something to update. Otherwise you may not get the Update driver option when you right click the driver in Device Manager.
Something like this:
1. Connect the phone in the mode (phone on, or phone in download mode) that isn't working
2. Start/Right click Computer/Properties/Device Manager
3. Right click on Android or Samsung drivers that appear
4. Choose Update Driver, Browse computer for drivers, Pick from a list on my computer
5. Click on the most promising looking drivers that come up until one works

I have read and read....googled and youtube just about everything to get my note 3 AT&T rerooted! AT&T had an update on Friday 2-28-14 over the air. i noticed it was updating while i was at work. when it was done it removed my root by Kingo. I have tried like most of you numerous times with no success. I took the advise from this thread and used Vroot it took about 96 seconds and Bam....rooted! then i followed the instructions on this link ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532818 ) and now I'm done! THANKS!!!!!!!! hope this helps. I did this on my mac through parallels 9 my device is note 3 SM-N900A 4.3 build N900AUCBNB4
I had the same problem as everyone else. Odin would not recognize my note 2 (Windows 7) or acknowledge that it was connected. I got the correct drivers to load by going to USB options on the phone and checking Connect as: Media Device (MTP) while connected to the PC. Windows automatically installed the drivers. I then shutdown my device, put it in download mode, and Odin recognized it and I was able to flash.

Make Odin Recognize Note 2
1. Open Odin
2. Get Samsung Note into Odin Mode (on off state, hold down volume down, home, and then power button)
3. Plug in to USB
4. If it doesn't recognize your device, take out battery (keep it plugged in!), wait a few seconds and put battery back in
5. Odin should now see your phone under ID:COM
Hey!
This is my first time posting, but I have read tons of threads on here over the last year or so with my Droid DNA.
A while ago, I rooted my DNA, and unlocked the Bootloader, and used moonshine for S-OFF. I now want to undo all that I have done. Wiping data is no issue, I backed up all my info. I plan to get a new phone soon. Basically, I can't get adb drivers to work. So I deleted my drivers, and installed the ones mentioned in the thread linked below, and I can't find how to get these drivers to work.
My plan is to follow this thread, using step 3 (for moonshine). I have TWRP installed, and flashed the lock_bootlader.zip file provided there. I cannot get adb to work, however, for the next step. For example, "adb devices" returns no devices. And thus i cannot use adb commands. When I run "adb devices", it shows this. What do I do??
Thanks
Some more clarification:
I might also add that Device manager shows my phone as "HTC6435LVW", under "Portable Devices". It seems to recognize it as an MTP Device when I try to update the drivers, and won't let me update the drivers, because "The best driver software for your device is already installed".
In addition, HTC Sync Manager does not recognize my phone either. I should mention that I already chose "Reset Phone" from the Settings menu, and then also did a Factory Reset from TWRP.
I'm so confused by all this - Why can't I get ADB to recognize it?? I have been and will continue to be searching for solutions to this problem here on XDA and also on Google. And do I even need to do all this to give my phone back to Verizon?
Try getting the drivers from PDAnet. If you are using Windoze 8 or 8.1 , good luck.

I tried that, it gets stuck at the USB Driver Installation page, when it asks to connect your phone. I have USB debugging enabled, and I even installed PdaNet on my phone to try to use their "USB Mode". The DNA has not USB options for Mass Storage, etc like the pdanet driver help page ( pdanet . co / driver ) (It wont let me post a link because I'm a new user, sorry) tells me to look for.
Windows device manager does not recognize it as an Android phone, but instead as a portable device, could this be a problem?
Thanks for your reply

EDIT: Nope, didn't work. Momentarily, I got it to install drivers. During that time, adb worked but not fastboot. So then I deleted the drivers to try to reinstall for fastboot, and now neither of them works.
I have a new S4 with baseband MK2. I am getting ready to do the root etc. but I was testing ADB first to make sure it works.
I have installed the latest USB drivers, and turned debug on in the S4
I get get adb to launch, but when I use the command "ADB devices" nothing shows up.
I have rebooted both PC and phone with the same results.
Question,
Does the phone need to be rooted before ADB will work? If so....then how to I side load "Towelroot"? or anything else for that matter.
am I missing some sdk files...or something else?
Thanks

Usually when nothing shows up at all it's a driver issue. What drivers did you install where did you get them. Windows right?
Edit : root not required.

Got the drivers from samsung site...latest ver 1.5.45. phone connects to windows computer and displays directories so I know the USB driver is ok.
I did some more looking and am updating my sdk devices right now. I expect that to correct the problem.

Drivers are good then, update your SDK like you said and try again. It should work after that, I don't have an S4 but they're all the same when it comes to ADB and fastboot. Good luck.

I sure wish I knew exactly which downloads to take from the SDK download manager....
I played it safe with the 4.3 and 4.4. I didn't know if the updates were progressive (included all past needed stuff) or just specific for the version.

Ok, so you set flashtool like I said in my thread but there's no progress when you connect your switched off phone to PC. That's probably because your phone isn't recognised properly. I don't know if there's any driver installed on your PC, but you have to reinstall it somehow. The best method I encountered is to connect switched off phone and, when windows prompts, choose to install drivers from specific folder (try ADB folder or FlashTool, there's drivers for xp/vista/7 in each one that worked for me). This is a point when you must figure out by yourself, depending on your situation. Let me know if something changes.
Hello,
I just bought an S850 and I can't even install the drivers. When I connect the phone to the PC, it detects it, but it doesn't ask for drivers. It just says that Windows didn't found any drivers for this device and then it disappears from the Device Manager. Tried to manually install the .inf files, but then I get an error message saying that these files cannot be installed manually. So basically I'm stuck at the very beginning of the root process
Any help is greatly appreciated!
