[Q] Password changed, gmail on android keeps syncronizing! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I have a serious issue. For working needs a colleague is given the password for a gmail account and he setted this account on his android phone. Now I want to stop the possibility for him to accede and so I've changed the password via web. But I noticed on my android that gmail keeps syncronizing every mail, despite I've changed th pw! Obviously also my collegue is able to receive all emails yet!
I hope someone of yours can help me!
Sorry for my english

Ok I'm an idiot. At first I was in panic, but i've checked better and the only email that is arrived was the one which advise about pw's change (obviously)
I'm sorry again

[Q] Email accounts dissapearing!! Why?

Hi
Sorry if this has been mentioned before, I did search and found similar probs but no determinative answer,
Problem started when clicking on the email preview would not open the mail - I would 'bounce' up and down so it knew I was pressing it, had a search and others said to soft reset or lock screen->unlock bla bla bla
This would 'sometimes' fix it but now the problem has worsened
Now the all my email details went awol on there own - there were no accounts setup under the account setting tab
this has only started happening recently,
So I did have gmail, hotmail and my isp all set up and running,
Have managed to get the isp one running again (they use gmail actually) but for the life of me I can not get hotmail or gmail to receive any email
This is driving me up the feeking wall, why have they disappeared in the 1st place,
why won't gmail work - same setting as my isp just different user name / pw (which I know are right)
And Hotmail - this one really is confusion time - asking for server address - before I did not need to know these as it was 'built in' so to speak, - no matter what I try it don't work ;-(
Using energy rom (25th aug)
Please help before I loose all my hair!!!!
Thanks in advance

email connection problem
Hi I have the same problem but with live mail. It keeps changing the user name and causing a connection error to come up. Did you solve your problem?
not yet still trying to short it out.very frustrating to be honest
Try this
Hi like you pretty frustrated so went back to basics and onto Hotmail Q&A only to find out I needed to use a different email set up from that I use on a computer as this is a mobile device. Guess that makes me daft for not thinking of that but hey we all got to learn. Anyway set up now using the windows live mail help under setting up email on a mobile device and it appears to be working. Hope that helps.:
thank you for the tips
Is it the same with yahoomail and tne other email accounts?
hi, are you guys using the native Android email client? if so, I would also highly recommend K9 Mail/Kaiten Mail.
Sent from my SGH-T839
yup tryed that too and still getting same problems
Don't know about yahoo but I see there is an android downloadable app for yahoo? Also there is an interesting trail on android forum regarding yahoo email setup which might help. Hope you get it working.
I had a bit of a prob when seeting up the stock email and turned out it was because of user name, You must set up your user name just as it says.
If i remember right (dont have my tab with me now) it ask for your user name and must be
your domain/username
like : earthlink.net/rick
maybe this will help.
thank you i ll try that aswell
Weard though that i had no probs on my samsung galaxy s and its a pain on my tab....

Unable to create e:mail account

Hello, I am in England,UK. My fone is jacked up big time. I got it on Thursday, and am unable to create the e:mail account on the fone in the apps section. I can create a G:mail account on it which I don't need through the G:mail thing, but am unable to do so on the e:mail icon.My account is yahoo, and am told because it is yahoo, it is complete competition with google, therefore the fone will absolutely not be able to use yahoo on it. Is this true? if so, then I have wasted 500 quid on a paperweight thats too light to weigh down paper.
I am on Vodafone, and I rang them on Sunday morning, and they told me to change the proxy numbers and the port number. The fone is factory standard, was brand new on Thursday, and is on Andoird 404.
Ask Jack to try this first .

Thanks for the link, however, after trying for the last 15 minutes to try get to work, still no joy. Will installing the new jellybean softwae help when it comes out? It doesn't look like this fone wants to work properly. First Dobby, now this!!
Just use the yahoo app? I used to use yahoo years ago but made the change to Gmail well worth it.

The competition with Yahoo has no bearing on whether Yahoo accounts will work. I just set up a Yahoo account there and it is having no problems sending or receiving mail through the email app. What exactly is happening when you try to set up an account?
Use the yahoo app. My wife uses her yahoo account everyday. No problem sending/receiving emails. What happens when u try to set the account???
Hi, ok, when I go to the create an e:mail screen, I fill in the full e:mail adress, and enter the password, the it has the working circle, checking incoming servers for about 20 secs, then comes up with message box saying,' Username and password incorrect'. Thats it.
I HAVE for the time being signed in using the fone's app, but that is a manual receiving system, I don't want to check IF I have mail, the creating the account thing alerts me when I DO get mail right? So I can go straight to it without having to sign in constantly via the fone's app.
It worked fine from the first time I signed in the my Nokia N900, Nokia E7, HTC HD2, but this Samsung won't do it.
I had the same problem and a few other people. Here's how I got my Yahoo to work on my S3. Log in to your Yahoo account on the computer/laptop. Change the password and save. Now do the same on your phone. It worked for me and the other people who had this same problem.
Good luck
If johnw's fix doesn't work, have you tried setting up an account manually? Presuming you used the automatic set up thing.

[Q] Can I recover an email password from the K9 mail app?

I have an email account (gmail) that I have since forgotten the password too. I set it up and immediately put the credentials in K9, then never accessed the account from a browser again. Well recently I've needed to get in to it but I can't. I have tried recovering the email through google's forgotten password thing, but it doesn't work (it was set up with very generic, and scarce information). I know the password is stored in K9 and still working, so I was direly hoping I can get the password from this.
Please, any and all ideas are greatly welcomed. I appreciate any and all help as well. Thanks.

I need to read Whatsapp messages on my own old Android 8.00 phone

Hello, I hope this is in the right forum section and someone can help me with this:
My end goal is to retrieve an old Steam account I've last logged into about five years ago.
I won't bother you guys with all the small details. Lets just say I tried everything possible to retrieve this account (contacted Steam support, support of the email provider etc.) but all this did not help with my problem.
I remember the email adress but not the password to it and also not the username to login to Steam. I do remember though that I have given the login information to a friend over Whatsapp to lend him this account. The problem is when I started up my old phone I did this on, it logged me out of the Whatsapp account I used at the time so I cannot just read the messages directly from Whatsapp. Now I want to decrypt the chat backup file but don't have the key file because the phone is not rooted. And if I root the phone to have access to the key file, everything will be wiped from the phone.
Is there ANY way to read these old messages so I can finally get this Steam account back?
I will provide further information if needed. Thanks in advance
