[Q] ROMs 6*5 homescreen? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I'm currently still running the Energy HD 2.0 ROM purely because of the fact that it fits 30 apps on one home screen, whilst most ROMs fit less. Are there any ROMs updated to the newest Android version with 5 columns, 6 rows of apps?
Thanks.

You have to change this setting in your launcher. For example I'm using adw launcher there I can customize the rows and Cols as I want

Best app for changing icons?

Can anyone suggest a good app that will allow a user to change the icon for an app?
I was using ADW EX and could change the icons anytime thanks for the fantastic integrated editing features of the launcher. But I'm giving Sense a thorough test drive for the first time and really like it, so I'd like to use all the custom icons I bought from Tha Phlash.
Follow-up: Is there a way to add a fifth column and/or fifth row?
Desktop Visualizer, it only changes them on the home screens tho, not the app drawer

Check out Folder Organizer
Thanks, guys. Desktop Visualizer worked perfectly.

Is there a way to change all the icons? App drawer included?
I've been using GO Launcher EX. I removed Sense, installed Ziggy's kernel, and installed ThaIconUltimate to change all my icons. It was a little sluggish at first, but it's running silky smooth ever since I flashed Ziggy's kernel.
In the screenshot attached, you'll see I have 5 icons across the bottom row, then 5 columns x 4 rows of icons on each screen. GO Launcher lets you customize how many rows/columns you'd like to add.

[Request] Sense app drawer mod 6x5/7x3 icons

Hey guys and gals, another useful modification that came to the HTC sensation with the Sense 4 roms was a Rosie app drawer with 6x5 icons in portrait and 7x3 in landscape modes. This made for much less scrolling through my 100 plus apps. Im sure this mod is possible on this phone too. Would love to see it...
Thanks in advance for looking into it.

TouchWiz Launcher for Custom DPI

Hi,
Wondering if there is a touchwiz launcher mod for custom DPI, I am using my phone at 240 DPI, its very nice except that a few apps are broken, but touchwiz launcher is the worst as of now. The Launcher is approx only 2/3 of the screen and the rest is just blank, wondering if there is a way to mod this (6x6 grid for home screen and drawer and 6 icons at the bottom instead of 5). It would be nice to have this, using Apex for now, but the TouchWiz Launcher is just so smooth

I think there's no custom TW that has 6x6 grid Home screen. just use other launchers like Nova or Apex which is nice

[Q] Compatible theme question

I'm new to using themes and icon packs. I have an S2x running Nova Launcher Prime and WidgetLocker. However, I'm unsure as to how to tell which sliders and icons are compatible with the programs. (GOlauncher/Apex?) Also, when users post screens of their sliders, are the clock widgets they use on their screen downloadable or found on the Play Store?
Thanks

Nova vs Apex vs holo launcher hd vs go launcher

Which is better?
Go. Hands down the smoothest. Although battery sucker.

I would say Nova, but the new Beta version.
It's crazy fast (Set the Scroll Speed and Animation speed to "faster then light"),transparent statusbar support (the only launcher that actually made my statusbar transparent ) and has a Kit Kat look. Tons of customization. What more do you need ?
I have 2 launchers for you. First of all is Apex Launcher it's smooth and faster and the second is KitKat Launcher it's great to live KitKat experience.

For me the best is Action Laucher

Haha oh dear here we go again... just go with Apex its light on memory and has all the functions you need.
Plus this belongs in Q&A (just for future reference)

I can't believe you're discussing this...it's all matter of taste, and that's very individual. After all, all of them are free on GPlay, so try it, only you know what suits you best, and it cost nothing.
waking the dead is my thing!
any way....I have been using go launcher. found on accident. It is really neat and I am just starting to understand it fully. Now Im seeing here that apex may take up less memory?

I had Apex.. Once. Then I downloaded Nova Launcher beta and I´m still using it No regrets about it, pretty smooth and easy launcher.
Just my opinion
You should try adw launcher. It is the only one I found that has a categorized app drawer. Makes things soo much more organized. And you can just put folder-like category shortcuts on your homescreen for easy access.
Beautyful transition-effects, great dock customisations... Gove it a try, if you are looking for a new favorite launcher.

Alot of users still see ADW as the boring launcher they used whilst on Froyo or gingerbread, as apex is for ICS

Is there a launcher that allows alphabetical listing in the app drawer like in the samsung touchwiz?
I just installed holo laucher as the first since I bought my GN3 last year. it looks smooth and very customizable as I can finally change the grid's density from 4x4 to more icons in the home screen but I miss that one column list like app drawer from touchwiz
ADW .
ADW launcher EX pro is the best launcher i found for me
it is really awesome , just try it
fast , easy , have a lot of customizations

I installed Nova and I must say I'm pretty impressed so far. I can configure the apps drawer in an alphabetical list style and much more.
One thing I find a little disappointing but that seems to be the same problem for all launchers is that the non resizable widgets are screwed up if I add them to the home screen when the grid size is changed to 5x5 or more
