I don't receive JB update yet... do you have backup & reset under settings ?
If yes, the sub-menu under backup & reset is Reset phone to factory data reset.

[Q] Can you factory reset????

Can you factory reset after rooting your Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tab?
Thanks for any insight on this issue.
I want to keep the root. just need to reset to factory specs.
Yes. Go to Settings>Privacy> and then select "Factory Data Reset" This will reset all settings and delete all of your data on the device. If you need a more serious reset than that, you will need to either clear data via clockworkmod recovery or re-flash via ODIN. (Warning: Reflashing with ODIN will remove your root and return you to stock.) If you just want to reset to factory settings and wipe your data, the "Factory Data Reset" will do what you need. Good luck.
The factory reset worked without incident. Only thing that didn't erase was the pictures that I took with the built in camera. I was having trouble with a push ad. Finally figured out what which app it was. Thanks for the help

first you should know that factory rest will wipe all your application and data and will restore your phone to state you first purchased.
first method:
*#7780# (Factory Reset)
*27673855# (Full Factory Reset)
Second Method :
go to settings find backup and rest then tap on factory data reset.
After factory data reset your phone will restart auto and it will ask you for setup. Thanks:cyclops:

FS restores the current firmware flashed .
So if you upgraded a stock firmware then that's what is restored not the original out of the box firmware .

[Q] how do i reset my galaxy 4.2 [US]

How do i wipe the data and basically factory reset my YP-GI1 device?
Should be in settigns, search around for it. Also, if you have ClockWorkMod flashed onto your device, then go into it, and do a factory reset and it will do just that.

flashed phone CM10.1.3, Am i able to use factory reset?

odin(ed) ClockworkMod and a fresh CM10.1.3 installed.
Just wanted to know if it is safe to use "factory reset" from settings > backup rest -> factory reset
The main purpose is only to get a clean install version of Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 ? just like first time flashed
Dont want to brick my phone ....
Thanks in adv.
