[Q] samsung galaxy s2 i9100 brick to unbrick state - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

dear experts help this noob to fix a problem with this bricked samsung galaxy s2 i9100. I bought this mobile in september 2011 and locked to 3 UK network but unlocked it from the network provider and using other sim network. When i bought this mobile it came with gingerbread and last year it got updated to ICS and two days ago i felt very happy when i saw its downloading a new update i.e. jellybean. After the reboot it asked me for the SIM UNLOCK PIN. I felt strange its an unlocked piece but how come it is asking the pin. Then i rooted my mobile by referring the galaxys2root website. the kernel is Jeboo Kernel and CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip. followed the exact procedure and my mobile got rooted and then i downloaded the galaxy s unlock app to get the unlock code and its asking for some money. assuming whether its a genuine app or spam app taking the credit card details so i went to phone settings and clicked the factory reset. So since then i couldn't enter into home screen. i could only see the yellow ! mark. So later came to know that its called as brick. Well my phone is bricked but its going to ODIN mode by holding the volume down+home+power buttton. Please anyone help me by restoring my phone back to official Ice cream Sandwich or Jellybean O.S.

Can you enter recovery mode: volume up + home + power and wipe cache / factory re-set from here (as a potential quick fix)? (I think Jeboo has philZ recovery / CWM but could be wrong)

If the above doesn't work, flash a stock firmware with Odin, then root it using a custom kernel, and then use GalaxSim Unlock app available here on XDA.

Please try to use guides for rooting given here on XDA next time. We can help you better that way.
Galaxy S Unlock usually works for ICS. For JB, you can use GalaxSim Unlock. Its free here on XDA.

You mean if i follow this procedure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458 will i be able to restore my phone to the previous state i.e ICS. And yes from now onwards i will check for the info from here only as this is the greatest source to get any help then any other website i have seen.

I am searching for 5 days sir and I did't get complicated process of rooting so pls if you could kindly help me to safely root my device ..
If you're scared/"don't want to take any risks..." don't mess with your phone in the first place.
If you're not prepared to search/learn basic stuff (like rooting) on your own, you run the risk of breaking your phone & voiding your warranty. Which means you'll end up paying to have it repaired.
Ill help because im feeling nice. Download Siyah kernel or CF kernel and put phone in download mode (turn off, hold power, vol - and home) get odin and click PDA and navigate to the kernel you downloaded. On the phone press vol+ and it will say download. Click start and you have a recovery. Then dowoad any rom and put on phone sd or normal memory. Turn phone off and then go into recovery (power + vol up and home) and do wipe data factory reset and then install zip and navigate to the directory where its downloaded. Once done reboot. Cheers.
Also use the search next time.

Also another crucial tip, until you dont change the kernal to siyaah, do not do any wipe actions in the recovery or you will certainly break your phone. Good luck

I had just recently root my phone ( SAMSUNG GALAXY S II ) and i always wanted to update to the latest version out there and i heard that i can do this when i am rooted.
So i would like a little help here guys.
By the way my phone keeps shutting down by itself. I don't know why. I believe that is the root. The problem started when i root my phone.
I also would like to show me a link where i can learn to use the root stuff for example ( How can you chance theme. Or How can you fully personalize your phone. )
And something last i will really appriciate if you can tell me the top 10 useful programs ( APKs ) for ROOT phones.
Thanks a lot!

Yes, u can update to the latest version, but you can do it with or without root. Just flash the latest firmware via Odin.
As for your other questions, a simple search on XDA forums or Google could give u a lot more answers than any of us could...

Easiest Root Method?

What's the easiest root method for the Galaxy S II.
I'm not looking to flash custom ROM's in the future. Just looking for a basic root.
I have the Sprint Epic 4G Touch, on 4.0.4.
I tried Exynosabuse, it didn't work sadly.
Search for the cf-root thread here.
Then choose ur specific baseband version. (settings>about phone>basisversion)
Then flash this via Odin.
After this ur phone is rooted and u can install zip in CWM (recovery mode)
Much success

I just tried using google and looking for the easiest method (IMO) for around 30 minutes.
I figured XDA would have all the answers, which the users do
This is not the forum for your device anywsy, theres a separate forum for that.

[Q] Latest UK stock firmware unlocked

Guys,
Ive had my S2 since its release but i want to sell it in order to fund my S4. Ive been using the custom Litenin Rom ever since but want to put it back to the latest UK stock firmware. Can anyone point me in the direction of what to download as my chin hit the floor when i saw the hundreds of different firmwares available. Although im on T-mobile, im 99% sure that my phone was factory unlocked on purchase. Im very familiar with Odin and the process as ive updated Litenin Rom several times, its just knowing which file to download.
Thanks guys
Steve
Have u tried sammobile.com?

OK thanks for that, lets assume i downloaded the T-Mobile one, will that affect the fact that my phone was factory unlocked?
Thanks

If ur phone was factory unlocked, it should be unlocked after flashing to stock. And if it gets locked, you can unlock it (after rooting of course).
Am sorry, but in my country, we only have international variant. So I don't know what will happen.

I totally agree with you.
But I did see a member just recently who could see the EFS as a blank folder without being rooted. Only when he got root was he able to see the contents inside it.
Just wanted to verify that this was not a similar scenario.

yes there is a way to use the IMEI from the note under the battery, you can refer to this thread which with minor changes could be used for galaxy s2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1802024
NB! DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
As for the OP
if you have a backup: restore from backup with appropriate tools - mentioned in forum here
if you don't have backup: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1659366&highlight=imei or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1261948&highlight=imei since you have already tried the 9 step restore
sometimes flashing a stock rom gets your IMEI back
