[Q] Latest UK stock firmware unlocked - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys,
Ive had my S2 since its release but i want to sell it in order to fund my S4. Ive been using the custom Litenin Rom ever since but want to put it back to the latest UK stock firmware. Can anyone point me in the direction of what to download as my chin hit the floor when i saw the hundreds of different firmwares available. Although im on T-mobile, im 99% sure that my phone was factory unlocked on purchase. Im very familiar with Odin and the process as ive updated Litenin Rom several times, its just knowing which file to download.
Thanks guys
Steve

Have u tried sammobile.com?

OK thanks for that, lets assume i downloaded the T-Mobile one, will that affect the fact that my phone was factory unlocked?
Thanks

If ur phone was factory unlocked, it should be unlocked after flashing to stock. And if it gets locked, you can unlock it (after rooting of course).
Am sorry, but in my country, we only have international variant. So I don't know what will happen.

Stock Radio gone Haywire on Stock ROM

Hey,
I have a i9100 from Virgin Mobile Canada, and the phone is starting to act funny. Often times, the signal will drop to zero at places where they're use to be signal. I downloaded network signal info, and its reporting a positive dB reading. There's an error that indicates its an issue with a positive reading.
Whats the best way to fix this? It's currently on GB.
How about trying out a different modem?

I have the exact same issue as the original poster. The question is, anyone have a tip on what radio (that is a modem, right?) we ought to get? I am currently in Singapore, on Singtel.
My phone is running 4.1.2 stock ROM
This is a european ROM, allthough I bought the phone here (wanted the European languages) and flashed the ROM myself about a year ago.
I have Baseband I9100XXLS8
I have read up a little and see that some radio's might be optimized for the carrier the ROM was made for. In my case I think the ROM i got was for Telenor, Norway.
If anyone can please point me in the correct direction, I would be more than happy to go look for myself. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks!

So after looking for modem, and not radio, I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131950
I think both myself and the op should go there and have a look.:highfive:

Imei number is NULL/NULL and no sim detection

I have the stock leaked jelly bean, Wanted to try a new mod of neatrom so I downloaded a recover mod from the website rootgalaxy s2 or so. Anyway, I am not under warranty, And my phone now doesn't detect SIM. I'm a total newbie and I don't even have an EFS back up. Is there any chance of getting back the calling or sim detection? It tells me Baseband undetected.
Do you have nandroid bk up? Do that will bring it bk.
Loads of threads on here that will solve your prob. Just need to have a look about.

It's been said that without an efs backup I am all gone, I am searching if someone can recover it without a back up file?

Wifi and Bluetooth working, Mobile data needs a sim card which is not detectable.
The chances of you recovering it without a backup are close to zero (But not exactly zero). You'll be paying to have it fixed if you can't manage to fix it, but the worst that can happen if you try a bunch of things from here & they don't work is you'll still end up paying to have it fixed, so you might as well try them.

Can I go to a normal local technical service or I have to end up going to Samsung, will they fix this particular issue? Or they'll just ask for fees for a new motherboard.

True..
I had this issue the first time I updated to ICS via Kies. Didn't have an efs backup too!!
A trip to the service centre said my motherboard needed to be changed!
But I got back my IMEI when I reflashed the same firmware via Odin! Guess I was just lucky and that my efs folder was still intact...
Never trusted Kies ever since!

Problem was modding with another version of modems so it crashed.
What made me think it's not the efs was that the phone app crashes along with call setting and viber uses the music/sound speaker instead of the phone speakers, So I thought that it's a defect in the ROM.
Now, I can't find the stock toggle bar of jelly bean mods for me...
And I can't add a solved bracket, I will try again.

[Q] samsung galaxy s2 i9100 brick to unbrick state

dear experts help this noob to fix a problem with this bricked samsung galaxy s2 i9100. I bought this mobile in september 2011 and locked to 3 UK network but unlocked it from the network provider and using other sim network. When i bought this mobile it came with gingerbread and last year it got updated to ICS and two days ago i felt very happy when i saw its downloading a new update i.e. jellybean. After the reboot it asked me for the SIM UNLOCK PIN. I felt strange its an unlocked piece but how come it is asking the pin. Then i rooted my mobile by referring the galaxys2root website. the kernel is Jeboo Kernel and CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip. followed the exact procedure and my mobile got rooted and then i downloaded the galaxy s unlock app to get the unlock code and its asking for some money. assuming whether its a genuine app or spam app taking the credit card details so i went to phone settings and clicked the factory reset. So since then i couldn't enter into home screen. i could only see the yellow ! mark. So later came to know that its called as brick. Well my phone is bricked but its going to ODIN mode by holding the volume down+home+power buttton. Please anyone help me by restoring my phone back to official Ice cream Sandwich or Jellybean O.S.
Can you enter recovery mode: volume up + home + power and wipe cache / factory re-set from here (as a potential quick fix)? (I think Jeboo has philZ recovery / CWM but could be wrong)
If the above doesn't work, flash a stock firmware with Odin, then root it using a custom kernel, and then use GalaxSim Unlock app available here on XDA.

Please try to use guides for rooting given here on XDA next time. We can help you better that way.
Galaxy S Unlock usually works for ICS. For JB, you can use GalaxSim Unlock. Its free here on XDA.

Easiest Root Method?

What's the easiest root method for the Galaxy S II.
I'm not looking to flash custom ROM's in the future. Just looking for a basic root.
I have the Sprint Epic 4G Touch, on 4.0.4.
I tried Exynosabuse, it didn't work sadly.
Search for the cf-root thread here.
Then choose ur specific baseband version. (settings>about phone>basisversion)
Then flash this via Odin.
After this ur phone is rooted and u can install zip in CWM (recovery mode)
Much success

I just tried using google and looking for the easiest method (IMO) for around 30 minutes.
I figured XDA would have all the answers, which the users do
This is not the forum for your device anywsy, theres a separate forum for that.

[Q] Can't Network unlock i9100

Just updated SuperNexus (To V.2, Build 4) and my phone has re locked itself. Tried chainfire's S2 unlock app but it doesn't work, also tried to use the tool here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1731931 but that didn't work either. Just keeps displaying that damn "Insert SIM Network Unlock PIN"
It's happened to me before too, but last time it happened I managed to get it working with the Samsung Unlocker/Patcher mentioned previously. Now it won't work either
Any suggestions? I have tried fixing permission on the nv_data bin etc etc nothing works. Anyone able to shed some light on this?
Thanks,
Auzeras
