[Q] Bootmenu not run anymore after flash a rom - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi everybody,
I'm using XT910 with Bootmenu. When flashing a rom on 2nd system, I forgot to notice the warning "hijack version is mismatch. Bootmenu will run in next boot" ==> bootmenu really did not run & also not boot to any rom
Is anyone know a way to recover bootmenu & boot to the rom on 1st system?

hhmm, seems you cant boot to 1st rom slot, reflash the fastboot via rsd lite and flash bootmenu, make sure you download the recovery from playstore by whirleyes

This CWM from J.Y.Daddy is Android GB 2.3.6
Do you still need it? I might have a copy somewhere in my PC's HDD. Just let me know...
But IMHO (I am using a XT910S with Vodafone's android 4.1.2 for XT910), you should erase CID partition and use RSD Lite to flash any ICS XT910's SBF files, then install Boot MenuManager 0.3.4 to bypass the CID error at boot.
Good luck!

[Q] Can't boot cm9 after clean install

Hi everyone!
I am trying to flash cm9 with CWM v5.0.2.8, but the phone gets stuck while booting. Before flashing I wipe everything (dalvik cache, cache, data, battery stats), and format the system, and still I am getting stuck while booting again and again. I see a screen with a red circle with M inside it, the text under it is "dual core technology", and the text in the top - "unlocked". I can wait and wait but nothing happens. the only choice is to restore to the stock rom. My device is rooted and unlocked.
I Tried to use the previous version of CWM, but after I flash it with rom manager the recovery gets unreadable. I go into the recovery mode and see unreadable lines of text.
Please help me! I'm tired of unplugging and plugging the battery again and again..
Thank you!
Forgot to say:
I tried to flash the file "beta-0.2.0-cm-9.0.0-RC0-Sunfire-KANG-signed.zip".
Should I have flashed any special kernel?

Bold part is the problem. For some reason the newest version of CWM results in a stuck boot with CM9 for the photon. You need 5.0.2.7 (or below I'd assume).
Go here and grab the CWM that is posted and flash that.
Thanks. How do I flash a recovery? RSD lite is good?
Edit: I tried to use bootstrap, but it doesn't boot into recovery but into android. So how do I flash the "old" version of CWM?

OR use the moto-fastboot method which is simple too.
Thanks for the help! I managed to flash the recovery, and then I successfully flashed the cm9! Thank you!

I'll be honest this is why I don't like rom manager
Good practice should be to do everything as "manually" as possible first, then consider using apps like rom manager to speed up these tasks.

help bricked razr

Hi all.
I bricked my gsm (italian) razr.
I would like to install last miui, so I installed cwm recovery.
Everything ok, i choose zip from sdcard and then bootloop with miui logo.
So I have to ask: how can i choose recovery mode (to select the restore mode)?
Of course i had a backup first, but how can now restore it?
Now razr is a brick.
Please help me.
Tx in advance.
A razr-noob, ex hd2-expert.
are you using safestrap or bootstrap recovery? a bootloop is not bricked. restart your phone and see if recovery pulls up. if not you will have to enter fastboot mode and flash back to stock, re-root and start over.

Ciao!
Flash a stock rom and don't use CWM which is not working.
1. First, flash a stock system with RSD lite (this one)
2. Then you'll be able to charge your razr and update your system to something newer.
Cheers
Tank's a lot, guys.
I'm offline all day long 'cause my internet went from razr...
Thanks for your replies, i'll now study what i have to do.

HELP! soft bricked motorola razr xt910

Hello
I need immediate help!
Here is what happened. i have motorola razr maxx xt910 MERetail with stock rom. i install BMM recovery manager and then installed CM 10.1 on second slot/system. then i found out SS recovery manager is better so when i was in second rom, i installed BMM apk, hit uninstall and then install SS apk -> install SS recovery. after reboot, nothing boots up!
i only see the motorola logo and then it goes blank.
i tried to flash (through default motorola recovery menu) cm 10.1 and also a stock jellybean rom created by Hashcode (http://goo.im/devs/Hashcode/umts_spyder/aosp) but both errors on package signature verification. what can i do?

I can enter Fastboot and stock recovery and that's about it. Also tried to flash Nandroid backup via custom recovery but it said "signature verification problem, installation aborted".
I'm out if ideas what to do. If someone can help, please do.

I just did the RSD format and i worked. make sure you follow the steps on getting into the fastboot recovery menu and it should say "ready" until you can force flash via RSD and appropriate rom file.

Please brother, can you post your process step-by-step and I will try your way, I have all the files needed but it just won't work. It is visible in Fastboot cause it shows the device's serial number, but in RSD Lite it says N/A under the device description. Also, fastboot says my CID is 5, don't know is it related to this issue. Flashing from stock recovery comes up with "signature verification failed", whatever I tried: ICS, JB, ICS backup, update...
Also, Fastboot menu says (first line) flash failure. This is my first Motorola phone and I really don't know what to do anymore, I'm pretty desperate. Is it possible that no one can help in this case? As for the HTC HD2 with Android ported, I shared my knowledge and experience which helped many users fix their issues. As for the Razr, I've been reading for days and nights since it was bricked and couldn't find the solution yet.

[Q] xt910 bricked after flashing cm 10.1.3 Help!!!

U Hello xda,
I've decided to root my xt910 and install cm rom. Root went smoothly however i had problems with the custom recovery. At first i tried safestarps but i couldn't flash the zip it keep aborting the installation :
Set_perm some changes failed. I've tried to install cwm 5.0.8.0 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751826 but i got status 7 trying to flash the rom after factory reset and wiping cache. Couldn't find in updater scripts the assert part that i need to delete to make status 7 disappear because of compatibility. I tried to wipe dalvik cache and formatting system which afterwards i manage to flash the rom. At the end i received message "if rom wasnt flashed on rom slot - 1 phone will not boot!!! This will be fixed soon. "
When i tried reboot system nothing boots. And when i try to boot to recovery i get to stock recovery although i had installed cwm.
Now i end of with a bricked phone. My questions are:
1. How can i unbrick?
2. I backed up nandroid with cwm but i cant acces cwm only stock recovery? Why is that and how can i get to cwm?
3. Why my phone is not booting? I did not flash with safestarps so it wasn't flashed on rom slot-1
4. I only have acces to stock rom, ive download a firmware update Jb 4.1.2 can i flash it with stock recovery to solved my brick?
Am i still rooted? Because i read i need to unroot before updating. How can i unroot if i only have stock recovery?
Please help!!! I can't afford lossing this phone!
