Hi so yesterday I was able to fix my phone and its "internal SD card not mounting problem" however after I fixed it, I went into storage and noticed something weird. I have two internal storages?? One of them is the usual 11gb and another is just 2gb now the thing is, everything that I download (apps, files etc) gets stored on the 2gb internal storage and so I have to manually move all of these apps to the 11gb storage. Take a look at the screenshots I have attached. How can I fix this do that the 11gb and 2gb storage merge into one? BTW the one in there screenshot with 4gb is my external SD card

I don't understand, there's nothing wrong with it.

Why are there two internal storages? And whenever I download apps, it always downloads to the 2gb internal storage section. Is there a way to change that so it saves to the 11gb section by default rather than me having to manually push each app to the 11gb section?

there is this thing called PARTITIONING
this phone was released many moons ago. there is 2gb dedicated to app installs, then you have your 'internal' sdcard for app data/music/pictures/video/porn
its functioning as normal. why does it matter if it works?
Ohhh ok thanks lol I just want sure I guess

I have eclipse 2.3 installed on my x2 and am having sd card/storage issues. As you can tell from this screenshot, it appears that my phone is recognizing my sd card as internal memory and internal memory as sd card. I have an 8gb card and I realize that it is almost filled because I downloaded a game and a movie onto it. When I open my file manager, it says that they are on my card, but my phone is telling me that my internal memory is almost full. Any help would be appreciated.

So you are talking about your memory and not your physical storage space on your 8GB storage card? Obviously, as you mentioned, your card is pretty full which could cause it. Also, you can try just going into recovery and wiping cache and dalvik cache and see if that cleans up some stuff. Some apps keep a lot of cache on the storage space.
The problem that I have is not the lack of storage but as to why my phone is calling my external storage internal. Meaning my internal and external are swapped.

SD flip is a standard feature of eclipse
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda app-developers app
Oh, I thought you knew that part already. lol. Yeah, Eclipse switches your storage locations so you have more internal storage which is better. All your stuff on your external card is still on your external card, but the mod makes your phone think its the other way around.
Is there any way that I can reverse this?

I was wondering how much free device memory space I should have?
I have a 16GB version.
I rooted, switched to beans and back to stock doing a factory reset, still rooted (but plan on going back to beans soon).
Under storage I only have 4.4GB of free left. And is it normal to have 8.9GB of miscellaneous file space of which 1.9GB is used up by ROMs?
Just worried about running out of space on the device.
Does switching ROMs accumulate used space on the device? Is there some fat I can cut?
Thanks.

Did you make backups? They take up a sh1t load of space

Yes, but I thought the backups went all on the SD?
How much free device space do you show?

If you are using TWRP you can backup to SD or internal storage.
Yes, my TWRP and TB are on the SD.

If you go into storage under settings you can press on misc to see a list of what is in there. 5.77gb is dedicated to the os and resides in misc.

You can change where TB files save to in the app settings under preferences. But you look about right. 5.77 for the os, plus 2 gigs of ROM files plus 1 gig of titanium backups plus all the other random stuff I'm sure brings you to your 9 gigs.
---------- Post added at 09:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:49 PM ----------
It definitely kind of sucks that they advertise the N2 as 16gb built in storage when it is really only 10 for users. That's why I stuff as much as I can on my 64gb sd card as far as TWRP, Titanium, downloads, music, pics, etc
I THOUGHT sdcard0 was the external.
Moved the TB and rom files to extsdcard and back to 7.2GB.

i just used es file manager to look. the file folders were approaching 80,000 when the program said "invalid path"
But the Size estimater was pretty much at 14.9gigs since i hit the 30,000 files point.
You lucked out by getting the 1tb version of the DNA.
Unfortunately I can't use any of it. Does anyone know what would cause my phone to show this?

You can see her yourself that which app is using how much space in your phone.
So uninstall the ones which are using very large amount of space.
If it doesn't work then try cleaning cache and dalvik cache..

Maybe it is possible that your internal memory is used as sdcard and the sdcard is used as usbhost..

Hmm seems odd since that's the space were ONLY apps are located in.
Are you rooted? Cause then you could re-flash your ROM and chack again.
Hi,
I traced an accelerated battery drain on my -now again stock JB- Galaxy S2 to the presence of the extra microSD card
I setup the phone for miminal service as to save battery.
With the sd-card present, the phone completely discharges in about 16 hours - while having it on standby.

When the sd-card is removed, depletion rate is much slower
Over about the duration 16 hours, only 10% has gone! Although 5 days would seem very optimistic, but I'll take it
As far as I can see, nothing really should use the sd-card - it's empty.
reformatting the card has not helped.
What is causing this and how can I stop it - bar from removing the sd-card permanently?

thanks for your reply
card is kingston 8gb SDHC class 10
I can disable media storage, but for disable media scanner I need some apps and root the phone ?
I'll come back with further updates
Scan .nomedia files on the memory card and delete them.
Secondly, if younhave stored any mp3 scan them and if found any broken mp3 delete or repair them
