Anyone know when this is expected to be on AT&T in the US? I am getting tired waiting.
I want to go on a contract, without is too much dosh.
Q3 2011. No specific date has been confirmed.
No sexy insider info? Wasn't the phone suppsoed to come out in like March/April lol.
no that was the infuse, it was just rumored to be the US gs2, its not.
Best bet is to buy a white iphone4 on contract, DONT OPEN the box, ebay it for 600$ and get a gs2 for 750$ shipped, 350$ out of your pocket is better than 750

Bingo. Exactly what I did. This phone is very much worth $325-350. Plus you're not tied to AT&T for updates. Chances are the carriers will mess with the hardware. The carrier versions might not be that much worse but theyre sure as hell not going to be better. And you can also save $10-15/month using the medianet data plan.
You'll know the phone is iminent when the online media sites start talking about it clearing the FCC. There's been no news about any of the U.S. carrier variants so I'd guess you're talking about months, not weeks. Many of the sites report that VZW will be the launch carrier with AT&T second. If that's so, you're probaly looking it at least six months.
Hmm, if I decide to just wait, think we may see it around June? July max?

Wait why? I thought the phone has already cleared the FCC with at&t bands? http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/11/samsung-galaxy-s-hits-the-fcc-with-atandt-bands-onboard/
I also haven't seen any evidence of this phone coming to verizon.
You do realize the article you posted is from last year for the Galaxy S?
BRB reformatting computer. I guess I missed that
I meant this anyway http://www.intomobile.com/2011/05/05/samsung-galaxy-s-2-hits-fcc-att-bands-more-carriers-follow/
I tried searching online for sales numbers but couldnt find any. Was it successful or what?

I'm not sure what that means in that the store in my area told me they were sold out, but then again they mentioned that they only started out with 6 units.

Most new phones sold out in first week in stores. That doesn't mean anything because typically each store only get a very limited number of handsets on release day.
i predict it will do OK
i mean i think its the best phone out, but of course a 5.3" screen is still far away from the norm right now,so wont be a super hit
at&t's main warehouse is out and they have to ship mine from a different warehouse
I recall reading when Samsung launched the International GNote that they said they did not intend to bring this to the North American market. I guess they saw how popular it was and maybe the number being imported...at least AT&T noticed and jumped on it. They brought it to the US pretty quickly after the International launch (Nov 2011)
That does not really answer the questions but the reviews from the people that have it are very positive. I think it will a big hit! (coming from a man who has two!) lol! Relatively speaking! Feel sorry for my skyrocket but since I have the LTE GNote, no room for 800 x 480 resolution...My International GNote just got it's 4th update and is still rocking!
LG you are going to lose sales and it will all be AT&T's fault. Three stores and a support call later, I am empty-handed with no LG G2.
One store said they didn't know what it was and didn't think the phone was in stock yet, put me on hold, and never came back. I waited exactly 10 minutes on the dot, and hung up. Second time I called back, they knew what it was but said they didn't have it yet (ugh). I asked if they had a demo model, they said no demo model available. In this store's slight-defense, it was an AT&T retailer, not an AT&T store.
Another store said they haven't gotten their shipment yet (what?). My guess by the vocal tone was that they actually had no idea what they were talking about, I decided I didn't want to deal with that and proceeded on.
Third store, a big fancy store in a huge ritzy strip mall...yes, we have the G2. Okay, great, so I drive down...
No display. No advertising. In fact, the rep didn't even know what it was and instead asked if I wanted to look at the S4 instead, no, I pulled my S4 out of my pocket and said I already have one. I am buying a G2 for the Snapdragon 800, the display, and the battery tech. The rep asked the manager, the manager said they just got them in stock but haven't put any out yet so they'd be right back. I sat there for 5 minutes. Turns out they do not have a demo model either, so they had to pop a packaged one open for me.
Looks good. Proceed to buy, ask for screen protectors (I hate AT&T screen protectors, btw, they degrade image quality, but I wanted to protect it until better ones come in the mail). They have no cases or screen protectors in stock, and as far as they can tell in the system they don't have any on the way.
Great. Fine, whatever.
"Wait, is this the 16GB model?"
Rep didn't know. Box doesn't say. Support documents on their iPad that they pull up are a mess of broken links, missing info, and NOTHING about storage capacity.
They then told me that I can just buy an SD Card for it. I laughed and said it doesn't use an SD Card, they didn't believe me and checked the phone all over...okay, customer right.
I said a 16GB model won't work for me and I need the 32GB one. They check their system and their incoming stock, nothing about 32GB models. They disappear in the back again. Per them on their return, retail stores will only be getting the 16GB model, and the 32GB model is only available online. Ugh!
I call AT&T up and the rep says something to the effect of the 32GB models not being available because so many people are buying it up in stores. What a lie. I corrected him and said the phone just came out today and even though I want one I can't even find a store who knows what it is. He checks again, okay, maybe the retail stores didn't get 32GB ones and they are only available online. He said I can order online or through him, except as soon as it turns out I am paying full retail, he directs me to order it online instead. Great service.
LG, you've made a great phone with great technology and you are losing sales by the minute due to AT&T incompetence. No, I don't want to pre-order an iPhone. No, I don't want an S4.
I can barely buy an LG G2 when I know I want one, how is anyone else going to get it?
I totally agree. Walked in the local [email protected] store today and not even a display was up. IPhone 5c was definitely being advertised though. I asked for the lg g2 and they looked confused. Had to grab the manager to find out they actually had them in. the manager confirmed it was in. I was gonna buy it retail but I was turned away because I'm not an [email protected] customer. Ridiculous
This sounds more like Verizon than anything.
usually AT&T is pretty good.
I went to my local store and they were more than willing to help me.
They always are...
Asked about accessories and they ran to the back to check and came back wiht this horrid body glove case but...
Yeah, My AT&T store was all over it.
Verizon on the other hand... I am scared to go int here. I will end up walking out with a Motorola. Arghhh

Since they had no demo they didn't want me turning on and bypassing activation on the other unless I bought it.
The retail LG G2 costs $540, the online one costs $575. Another indication that the retail store model comes with less storage.

Wow. Based on everything I've read, they haven't released an American version with 16GB. http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-D800-g2 That states that the LG G2 for AT&T has 32GB of storage. I'm not arguing, but I am researching this as well. I have heard people asking the same question, but everything I've read leads me to believe all US versions are 32GB.

Kimberly: Thank you for chatting in with Best Buy Mobile, my name is Kimberly. What questions may I answer for you today?
Yes can you confirm something for me?
Meroduct SKU 1715501, does this come with 16 or 32GB of storage space?
Kimberly: It is a 16GB phone memory.
Me: I don't believe that LG released a US version with 16GB of internal memory. Since there is no expansion slot for an SD card, this is a major deal.
Kimberly: This phone does have a slot for an SD card (up to 64GB card).
Me: No ma'am it doesn't. That I can confirm most definitely.
Me: No version of the phone has a slot for expansion. The battery is not removable.
Kimberly: Media card slot
Accepts microSD cards up to 64GB (not included). This is under the specs.
Me: So is 5.5" display, but that isn't true either.
Kimberly: Well that is just a mis type.
This is a conversation I had with a Best Buy rep. She was far from helpful. I promptly reviewed my experience as negative when she disconnected after saying that.

Based on your comment and some others here, I called 3 more stores. 2 will let me order it and have it shipped to my house, but don't stock any. But...wait for it...
The third one has both 16GB and 32GB models, $540 and $575 respectively, and I can pick it up anytime this evening. Yay!
...except I can't cancel my online order, apparently it is too late, so now I have two...
All companies are preparing for the new iPhone which launch in a few weeks. Saw a friend who works, for Verizon email yesterday.... basically said don't push any phones because the next 2weeks they are training on iPhone and ios7...

I've spoken with 4 different Best Buy reps and an AT&T rep that know almost nothing about the device. The Best Buy reps all claim that the phone is available in white from them. The AT&T rep says that the phone isn't available in white. One Best Buy rep told me that the white phone is a 16GB phone. I'm getting conflicting answers and according to LG's site, the D-800 LG G2 comes with 32GB of internal storage.

Kinda useless to have two threads to bash the same company.
However, I would like to see one bashing a Verizon store.

I asked him whether it was with or 32 and couldn't tell me. I literally had to open the box to find out lol, guy was pushing the iPhone on me and wondering why I didn't just get an iPhone 5 lol, So yes AT&T at least in this location is not helping LG out at all.

Why couldn't you just turn the phone on go into settings and hit storage to see what the storage is? Anyway I'm in Louisiana and I was in and out of att in less than 15 minutes. Same story with my s4. The ipads make upgrading smooth as butter. Go att.

I've tried to grab two (G500T) now and both refuse to connect to T-Mobile unless I'm in their store. The reps figured it was a SIM issue and didn't bother to look up the IMEI. At home I tried my and my wife's sims from a rooted S3 and a rooted Core Prime and I get the same thing.... they won't attach to T-Mobile even though the other phones do.
So when I used TMo's IMEI tool both report as being overdue on accounts. So how are supposedly "Manufacturer refurbs" coming out with this flag? Is there any way to get these G500T's and know before purchase that the IMEI is clean and that it will just work on Tmo?
-gmolds
Am i missing something here... this Amazon post for the G900T even states that the device is only partially usable on TMo. Isn't that the Tmo variant? I mean the two I receieved booted to 4.4.2 or maybe 4.4.4 with the TMo graphinc and Jingle yet wouldn't grab a TMo tower outside of their store.
Add to that if I turned on WiFi calling I was recognized as the correct number and could send and receive calls/sms just fine.

There has been tons and tons of rebranded att devices people are selling as unlocked g900f and g900t devices as att has locked bootloader and nobody wants them. Could be your problem.
I wouldn't trust amazon nor eBay. Try swappa.com 100% and guaranteed to not be black listed

I'll look at swappa... but would AT&T locked ones root and take TMo kernels/ROMs becasue I was able to do exactly that and as stated, in the TMo store, it linked up instantly with full LTE (WiFi off) but outside of the stores reach it wouldn't connect. And again, the phone's IMEI according to TMo's lookup tool (both of them) had outstanding bills associated with them.
Isn't the Amazon link odd in that it is listed as a T but claims partial TMo functionality?
Or you could just buy straight from T-Mobile! I got two for $200 each. They're also eligible for T-Mobile's interest free credit system and come with a 90 day warranty which they will honour even if rooted.

Currently showing $250... a bit high for this model used IMO.
Worth a bit extra for some peace of mind, imo. As the T-Mobile rep I spoke to pointed out, the CPO devices go through an 80 point check which the new phones don't, at least not by TM. Both ours look brand new, and I'm guessing that both the glass & battery, and probably the outer cover too, were replaced. There's a difference between used & CPO. And I'm guessing $250 is less than you paid for the two you bought that you can't use outside the store??

Actually they were $140 apiece via Woot (Amazon subsidiary) and were listed as AT&T and T-Mobile friendly. One wouldn't charge and the other had the bad IMEI. I'd go as high as $200 I think. I'll keep an eye on Swappa and maybe call a TMo rep to see if they'll come down. I'm in no hurry... just getting ready for our next phones. I can't let Shiny get too far ahead or I'll miss out on all of his great work and their derivatives
As I said, when I bought ours they were $200, they'd previously been $250, so you may get lucky if you keep your eye on T-Mobile. I did their interest-free plan, so it's $8/month each, which seems like a hell of a deal now I've seen how good the phone is. Add a $10 wireless charging coil and you've got a phone that's indistinguishable from a $700 current model.

Those are TMo friendly phones, in that you can put a TMo SIM in them and they will work. However, that's not the same as a 900T. I bought a S5 through Woot back in January, and it was described as a 900T and it was a 900T.

It is/was (http://www.woot.com/offers/samsung-galaxy-s5-unlocked-16gb-sd-23) in fact a 900T. It reported as much. I've laid out pretty specifically what the problem was and got confirmation from TMo. The real problem is the resellers putting these phones out there as able to be used when the IMEI clearly reports as a phone in arrears on it's account.
If I had been willing to pay the account that the pay as you go phone had been bought on, it would have started working. TMo had taht IMEI blacklisted.
Maybe they're generic specs, but they don't list the AWS bands for T-Mobile, which is the usual problem with buying phones that may or may not be T-Mobile devices.
Readily admitting that I don't know what you're talking about but the fact that I connected to TMo with full bars when at the Tmo shop but dropped out as soon as I drove away and the fact that the phone is in Tmo's system seems to me to be a fairly clear indication that is was a proper model.
In any case.. got one off of swappa and watching for another in my price range and in a condition I will accept. Thanks all for the comments and pointers.
It's not an indication that it's a proper model. Speaking very generally, an AT&T phone will work on T-Mobile because they're both GSM/LTE phones. However, the GSM bands they use aren't identical. There's some overlap, but in some areas there are bands used on T-Mobile that AT&T phones can't use. What that means in practice is that in some places the AT&T phones won't get a signal on T-Mobile and may use 3G rather than LTE. AWS is GSM 1700/2100. It's the same reason why my T-Mobile phones work in the UK but the data over there is slow.
So in this case when the phone is reporting that knox hadn't been tripped and the phone info claimed to be a 900T is still may be an AT&T?
I just bought this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MF64PSK/ on Amazon. Clean IMEI and a 90 day money back guarantee. Looks brand new.

I have really liked what I've purchased from Swappa too, but this time I went with Amazon. I read your post and was worried...I had to check the IMEI!
So I looked at the tech specs for the S9+ on my carrier's website (Videotron, in Canada) and it shows 4GB instead of 6GB for ram. Of course I know that not to be true, but is there a tiny possibility that there's a weird variant for Canada or some crap where it only has 4GB? I'd like to pre-order it pronto but I don't want to get screwed. I even contacted their support and they told me they have 4GB written in their system but I know their employees don't know much as my questions never get answered properly.
Here's the link, it's in the "specifications" section:

Yeah I'm sure it's just a typo, but that would kinda worry me also. At first I thought maybe they are just showing the specs for the smaller s9 not the plus, but then I saw the screen size.

Vidéotron has the same variant as everyone else in Canada. Your S9+ will definitely have 6GB RAM. Québec is not "that" special
That's what I thought but I'd rather ask other people's opinion than make a bad, expensive purchase Anyways thanks for the input
I'm looking at all major review websites and all state 6gb with 9+. If not it'll show 4/6Gb. Like how they do with storage, 64/128/256GB.
I just ordered it, anyways I can always bring it back which I wasn't sure was a thing lmao.
My carrier's employees know approximately nothing. I asked when they were shipping, the guy answered "we already have them" which I knew to be false since I heard it was shipping on the 16th from another employee. He then asked another guy and he confirmed they didn't have it yet and it was shipping on the 16th. Well played videotron...

The carriers have already begun receiving them but can't sell them until Friday.

Apparently my carrier's pre-orders come from a warehouse which'll ship by post/courier whereas if I bought it in store I'd get it on the spot so I'll only be receiving it on the 18th which is fine I guess

S9 PLUS COMES WITH 6 GB OF RAM, WORLDWIDE. IT'S A MISTAKE (copy paste from s9 description)
