Anyone knows at least one tool or app to save SMS in the SIM card into GMAIL, or a way to copy all of them into phone first?
Attention: Apps to copy from the phone memory into GMail I already know.
Thanks

All data on the phone is, SD card is fine, so pics and videos should be fine.
I've used Titanium for the apps, which in most cases also restores the settings too.
I use google sync, so Contacts are synced as soon as I add my google account to the phone (not sure how the other sync methods work for contact)
Finally, for SMSs I used the SE backup and restore app, and just chose SMS. there is an option for apps on there too, but I haven't used it.
Then, once 2.1 is installed, root, install busybox then use titanium to restore apps (don't restore system settings, as that caused me an issue with WiFi, app setting are fine though), then you will have all of your apps back, then open SE's backup and restore and choose to restore the backup you made earlier for texts
Contacts were auto for me, and photos and other SD contents will need no restoring at all, just view!
Copy and paste for my media files and SD card, and I used gmail and MyPhoneExplorer for my contacts. Titanium should do your apps and settings for them, but being a whole OS I just started from scratch with them.
hello,
i just flashed android to my HTC HD2 into the NAND.
How can i get my Data from the data.img that was used before with android from SD card ?
i m sure that u can help me ;D
greets
let me know!!! if you find out
which data all contacts are in google acount so in your fresh installed android just login to gmail and all will be back ,if you used dhd build than you`l get and apps instaled too with htc hub also
If you are looking to get your applications, use titanium and/or dropbox they are your friends.
For text messages you can use an app called "sms Backup and restore". Text messages are exported in XML format and can easily be imported after flashing the ROM.
As darkony said, contacts are automatically restored through the Google account. Standard marketplace apps should be reinstalled automatically as well upon opening the marketplace for the first time. Otherwise, use titanium backup as mentioned.
I don't know if call logs are automatically restored by android, but there's also an app called something like "call log backup and restore ".
Have fun flashing
Alternatively, you could use a nand rom that supports a data.img on sd card that resembles your former build. You might get it running without bugs, but that can't be guaranteed.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

I don't know, off the top of my head, if that will work. However, here are a lot of options to backup the PIM info (email, contacts, text and SMS messages, etc.) on your WM device in preparation for a Hard Reset.
If you do a search in the Windows Mobile Development and Hacking Forum for "pim backup" you will find many, many solutions.
In my opinion, 2 of the most popular (and useful) programs are:
- Microsoft's My Phone is a free service that allows you to backup all of you email, text messages, contacts, etc. (up to 200MB) to the web. you can them sync them all back to the device after you hard reset. It also allows you to schedule the backup so it is almost always up to date.\
- DotFred's PIM Backup tool allows you to backup your appointments, emails, SMS, etc. It also lets you do 2 things that MS My Phone does not... you can backup your call logs and speed dials as well (this is something My Phone does not do). It can also run on a schedule, but the backups are stored on your device (main memory or on the storage card) not on the web.
Cheers!
I've been trying to restore my chats from my Galaxy Fit with whatsapp version 2.11.175 to my Galaxy S3 Neo with whatsapp version 2.11.238 with no success! I transferred my sd card which contains the whatsapp folder(old). It didn't work. So, I copy/pasted the database & several other folders that weren't there in the new folder (the 2.11.238's folder) from the sd card one and reinstalled the app. This time it asked if I wanted to restore the found backup or not...to which I clicked the restore button...After few seconds, I got an error saying it couldn't restore & continued synchronizing. >_<
Is there a way to restore all the chats? Without rooting?
Please help guys! Thanks in advance!
The whatsapp folder in sdcard only include some audio files and pictures/videos, not your chat history. Since you are non-rooted user, you can try helium (download from playstore). It can be used without root to backup data of your apps (of course this includes your whatsapp account and chat history), but you will need to install a pc client to help you on that. It's very easy to set up, head over to the playstore and give it a try!
Hello,
My phone (redmi 6 pro) is rooted, I dont use Gapps and use all other social apps like fb, twitter and whatsapp without any issues.
The situation that i get stuck at is when I have to take the WHATSAPP BACKUP before installing custom rom.
Since i dont use gapps so i cant take backup at google drive, so i take manual backup of whole whatsapp folder to my sd card BUT after installing rom and whatsapp, when i run the app then whatsapp dont recognize sd card backup and I end up loosing my chats.
I also tried copying the sd card whatsapp folder to internal storage but no luck.
Please advise how can i retain the whatsapp backup in this situation?
Thanks,

Always zip WhatsApp folder manually by rar app on phone or pc anytime you want to keep backup. After installing new rom or resetting phone restore back the WhatsApp folder using rar apk. This is the convenient way because I don't allow Google to backup my WhatsApp files. If your Sdcard hosting the WhatsApp folder is not corrupted, just zip the folder and unzip with rar app to the internal storage. But do that before you install WhatsApp apk, meaning the WhatsApp folder must be unzip first.
Use this rar app;
Thanks, i will surely try out this solution...
Out of curiosity, have u ever tried taking whatsapp backup with titanium and restoring it after installing new rom??
