Hello to all,
I'm very worried because yesterday I tried to root my LG Optimus L9 (P760) and now I have it on "Brick".
I upgraded it to JB V20B without problems.
Then I wanted to root it by extracted .BIN files changing system (Lelus system).
I completed all process but on restart, after LG logo appears:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Secure booting unsuccessful
Cause:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I can boot my L9 into S/W Upgrade mode and also in LG Recovery mode.
I've tried to flash it to normal JB V20B but I can't!!! connection problems!
Windows detect my phone perfectly in both modes, but...
In S/W Upgrade mode, LG PHONE UPDATE don't detect my phone and stop the process.
In Recovery mode, LG PHONE UPDATE detect my phone but don't follow the progress telling "connection problems".
What can I do?
Please, I need your help. I will give a donate who can help me.
Thank you very much.

OK, I have a XTZ WiFi only (SGP311) which ran on stock with the latest official OTA (4.2.2 I think it was?)
Basically, the thing is completely unmodified with the exception of using permanent root through vroom utility. No custom recovery, nothing. (I am not sure if rooting via vroom also unloks the bootloader) Now yesterday, I restored some apps/data through Titaniumbackup and when rebooting the device after that things went sideways.
When turning on I just get up to the colormorphing ribbon animation which halts after a few seconds and then cycles the tablet into another reboot. I have searched up and down, figuring I'd just hardware reset the thing but there really is no physical reset buton, eh?
How do I get my Tablet reset back to factory? Isn't there some kind of Sony bootloader (like HBOOT on HTC) which one could use to reset it?
I seem to be able to get it into fastboot mode, at least I get a reply for the command "fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version" (which is 0.5). How could I wipe/factory reset from here? Or can I just flash a recovery, even if unsure if bootloader is locked/unlocked? Or would I rather flash a FTF from here? Whats my best course of action?
Any input greatly appreciated

dont worry, had bricked mines too, followed the following steps and got it back woking ........
1.get a stock firmware (As an FTF file), and get sonyericsson Flashtool.
2.Turn off the device (hold volume up, and power, for about ten seconds, until you see the LED flash three times). The device is now off. Hold down the "volume down" button, and plug in the USB connection to your computer. The LED should turn green, and the S1boot device should appear.
3.You can now flash the device back to Sony stock using the flashtool
4. pick the firmware you downloaded (FTF FILE)....... and flash it ..... ALL DONE !!!
please let us know if you fixed it .....
OK, thanks I will try that. I have looked into that but as of now I could not find a localized version. Mine is from Germany, and all I find is Japan and US versions, so is there no European / Euro/MiddleEast (EMEA) version at all? Can I just use the most recent Japanese one and it will have all languages available?
I will check out the flashtool now, maybe I can just issue a data/cache wipe and start fresh with the already existing firmware? That would be a good feature, skipping potential problems by using the wrong / incompatible FTF I guess.
Thanks so far.
no problem at all ....

the best solution i would recommend you right now would be the following:-
1. download and install the official sony flash tool known as EMMA , link is :
http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/how-to-download-and-install-the-flash-tool/
2. after installing it, follow the instructions to flash the FTF file
(it will download and flash the GLOBAL UNBRANDED firmware, which will contain all various languages)
3.after installing it, your tablet will be running stock 4.2.2 ....... no wories at all
always keep in mind that it is really hard to brick a sony device, it is always recoverable !!!

also before you do that, take a look at this link, i found the german FTF file for you

Oh wow, you are great, thanks for the effort on your side. Unfortunately when I was fiddling with the tablet XDA took its server switch downtime and I missed the post until now.
However, fortunately I was not even forced to go the whole nine yards. After realizing that I would not quite get anywhere until I took the plunge and officially unlocked my bootloader. Once I had that done I was immediately able to issue a cache/data partition wipe command via fastboot command line. At that point I just had a brandnew out of the box state and restored my stuff from there without fiddling with FTF etc at all.
Thanks for your great help anyway. May I just bother you with one more question? Now that the glove dropped and the bootloader is open I might as well go for a decent recovery. However I am at a total loss when chosing one. There is CWM and TWRP, one is said to be buggy (no recovery throuch volume key power on) sometimes it says its for sgp321 and not the WiFI only, then someone claims the opposite.
Could you please point me to any of those recoverys, fully functional on a SGP311 and conveniently flashable via adb/fastboot? I am not familiar with flashtool and would hate to screw things up with a wrong click. The sdk command line tools I have more familiarity with... Also, its just about recovery for nandroid with me, no desire to run a custom ROM or CM 10/11 or something.
Thamks a lot and have a good one!

the log of flashtool shows me that the tablet can't reboot, because it still in "flashmode".
in the log you can see i tried again the new kernel with the hope that everything will go right - but without luck.

Bricked device
Hi, I am in a similar situation. I have an XTZ SGP311 which is completely stock apart from rooted with the vroot tool. I stupidly tried to change fonts with a font installer from the Play store, and when I rebooted the tablet it cycles between the Sony and Xperia screens. I am trying to unlock the bootloader to restore with EMMA. The EMMA tool recognises the tablet when I connect it in Fastboot mode. But when I try the fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version command I just get <waiting for device>
Can anyone give any advice on what I can try next to unbrick my XTZ?

Hold VOL+Power for 10 sec to switch it off. Then reflash with Flashtool 0.9.18.6 or restore with xperia-companion.
I tried this version of Flashtool and also the newer one, with no success.
I'm trying now a downgrade for 10.6.A.0.454 to see if works. Like it's a softbrick, I can get in the flashmode, turn off and even the Sony Companion does execute the repair update for the latest but when I turn on, it shows the Sony Xperia screen then black screen and hangs like that forever.
All of this with 100% battery full.
Now I'm willing to sacrifice a goat or a bigger animal to achieve success

Any update?
Hi all,
My LG G5 is in a bootloop and I cannot even access the recovery.
I guess I made something very, very stupid. Can anyone help me? Please??
Here is what I did:
- Android 6.0 stock ROM (v10i)
- Encryption is on
- unlocked bootloader
- rooted using the official LG way => everything worked fine
- installed latest TWRP => everything worked fine
- entered TWRP and installed Nougat bootloader (LG-H85020K-Flashable.Bootloader.zip) from the v20 upgrade (I actually planned to installed FulmicsROM-4.5 and the manual said I need the Nougat bootloader)
=> bootloop
The device keeps saying "The device software cannot be checked for corruption. Press The power key to pause boot". I did that and ran
fastboot devices
on my Windows PC, but no devices showed up. I have used fastboot in the past, so I am sure that the drivers work.
I also tried LG Bridge, but it does not detect anything.
Does anyone have any idea how I can rescue my device?
Regards
Clarenze
Yippee! I found a solution:
- install LGUP + drivers
- turn off phone
- hold VOLUME UP key and connect USB connector to PC => Phone displays "Firmware Upgrade"
- start LGUP => LGUP detects the phone and allows to flash a kdz file
My phone works again and the day is saved!
Hi folks,
I'm looking for some guidance.
Background:
I bought an H933 in Canada. I successfully converted it to a bootloader unlocked, Magisk rooted US998 on Oreo.
I had hoped to convert back to H933 while keeping TWRP so I could take advantage of network dependant features such as VoLTE, VoWIFI and RCS. I was able to get back to H933 Oreo with TWRP but lost data connection. The last attempt involved using the DD command to copy modem files over from a stock H933 dump, which resulted in losing cellular connection all-together. I attempted to change back to a working phone by doing a Partition DL flash with LGUP and am now stuck staring at the LG Life's good logo.
Okay, so I have been attempting simply to revert back to a working device and am stuck and looking for some help.
I can access recovery (TWRP), download mode and fastboot mode. I cannot boot into the system (it boots to the LG Life's Good logo and hangs).
I have tried a master reset, a TWRP factory reset and wipe data, LGUP Partition DL to various images (US99810d, US99820a, H93310h, H93320f, H93320g) as well as trying the refurbish option on the same images. I have a TWRP backup of an US998 which appears to successfully restore, I have a flashable US99820e zip which appears to flash properly. In every case, I wind up either with a slow bootloop after reaching the LG Life's good logo, or just hanging at the LG Life's Good logo indefinitely.
I am at a loss as to what to try and beyond my understanding with LG.
Below are my notes up to where I started trying to get the phone back in case that helps...
Thanks all.
UPDATE: I have been able to get a network connection with data back. As far as I can tell, the series of events that resulted in the fix was LGUP Partition DL (ALL partitions) to US99810d. Then, while attempting to boot into recovery, I did a master reset. I followed this with LGUP REFURBISH US99810d and then another master reset.
So it may have been doing a partition DL (ALL)/reset/Refurbish/reset and using the same bin file for both that might have done the trick. Interestingly, I tried this early on but using the same H93320f rom I had already flashed, and then again with the H93320g rom without success. Maybe someone with more insight can shed some light but I'm going to toss out a hypothesis that I needed to use an image that had different partition sizes from the one I was on to force it to fix whatever the problem was?
Anyhow, I'll leave this up in case someone else runs into the same problem.
Thanks.

Ya, that's what got me started along the experiment.

Hi folks,
I'm looking for some guidance.
Thanks.

In clouds instructions he used DD for modem but in all of my tinkering I never did any other partition flashing except for an OP partition that was sent to me by seadersn however I reverted back to stock by flashing a kdz as the OP partition he sent did not return my data as well.
Our instructions vary slightly only by little but with my instructions I had luck.
I did say I was going to recreate my issue I just haven't had a moment to actually sit down and use LGUP as I also use my phone for work during the week so I apologise for that. I use the mobile app to do a lot of my browsing/research so I respond frequently.

You guys have already made serious progress. It is just a matter of time to iron out the wrinkles. The fact that you have found time in between life's demands to work on this problem and to share your advances with the community is great.
Hello XDA!
I've bought this phone bricked for cheap and i'd love help unbricking it.
What I Think Happened: CN Version of the Phone, attempted to flash the global version.
Progress:
- Automatically Boot looping (no screen)
- Goes to a "selection" screen after a certain amount of time
- Shows up as "Android" in Device Manager
- Installed ADB and Fastboot
- Phone is only detected by Fastboot
- I attempted to take off fastboot using fastboot restart didnt work
- Going into Recovery Mode does nothing
- Any other combinations with keys have failed that i've tested.
- No COM Port detected
Is there anyway I can unbrick the device? Please let me know!
