There are a lot of factors that may come into play with such things.
For starters, more information on what you are running on your device would be useful in trying to assist you with your issue.
What rom you are running? When was your last "clean" wipe and install?
Have you restored a bunch of stuff(especially texts) on your current rom from a previous install or rom?
Typically, if you have done a full wipe, a clean install, and have not restored a bunch of apps and data, you would not run into this type of problem.
It's usually when users go restoring a bunch of things, that texting takes a big hit and lags down real bad.
As stated, especially when you have restored a bunch of text messages.
Well, with the little information you gave, I hope that something I have said will be helpful.
If not, maybe provide more details so that a more specific solution can be considered.

I hate to semi-hijack the thread but I didn't want to make a new topic on a similar issue. I tried changing over to a new ROM a couple of months ago from my old Gingerbread one I used to have and since then I've gone through 3-4 Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs (the de-odexed one from this site as well as a couple from Santod on InfectedROM) and I've been having performance issues. I've mainly been used to AOSP ROMs and mainly wanted to change because I was having constant volume issues on that old one I was using. Since I've changed over to ICS Sense the volume is soo much better (the new radios I guess). I was wondering if there were any good AOSP ROMs I could try out based on Ice Cream Sandwich. I really wish I could get these new ones to work but it's just so laggy and slow I can't handle it. I am following all the instructions and clearing out everything between flashes and only restoring missing apps with data in Titanium Backup but the problems persist. Any ideas?

Biggest cause of lag, restoring apps and data, honestly.
As far as Aosp, have you tried my UnSenseROM Jelato?
It's about as DeSensed as a Sense rom gets, more or less and I do not get any complaints about lag from it.

I am a bit of an app hoarder, the last restore was around 130 apps, though that includes random ones that might come with a ROM. I have been testing browsers lately as that seems to be a big problem I'm having. Nearly every single browser out there seems to take at least 5-10 seconds when first opening to load up except Dolphin Mini. And that one won't fully load a page unless I change tabs and then when I swap tabs back it'll be loaded...very weird issue there.
Anyway, I was under the impression that Jelato ROM wasn't finished so I hadn't tried it so it was next on my list. I appreciate you not giving up on the old Tbolt

No problem.
It is done for now, there's always updates to come though.
I have also posted up 2 other Desensed roms of which may or may not interest you.
One is Miui Inspired and the other being Sony Xperia inspired.
In all, there are 7 custom roms to choose from, as well as the 4 stock roms.

Hmm, I haven't heard of MIUI before, I'll have to read up on it. Definitely looks interesting though from a couple pictures I saw.

Buggy ROMs?

Are you guys noticing that a lot of the custom ROMs out now are pretty buggy? I have tried about 10 ROMs in the last two weeks, and usually they seem great at first. Eventually weird things start happening, like sluggish rotation behavior, or random reboots. Sometimes MMS messages will not send, sometimes texts get hung up and I have to delete all my threads... I've had my phone freeze while sleeping, and missed alarms. I find myself flashing a ROM almost every other day, because it seems that I don't notice a huge problem until it has a day to settle on my phone. One problem that really annoys me is that in the Gallery app, on some ROMs, when you rotate the phone, the picture flys off the screen for a second or so, then re-centers itself. In general I've had issues with 3G/1X, and sometimes even calls being sent to voicemail without ringing. I also notice that from one ROM to the next, battery life can be dramatically different, despite having the same exact settings.
When I had my un-rooted Evo 3D, I had barely any of those problems. I definitely never had it freeze during the middle of the night, or overheat, or get wildly-sluggish. Now, with my stock ROM, I never had as SMOOTH as an experience as the fastest custom ROM I've used, and I've also never had as great battery life as the longest-lasting custom ROM out there. I just wish there was a way to take all the good things from every ROM out there, and put it into one, perfect ROM. I have seen the ROMs that claim to do this, but they still tend to have basic flaws. It makes me think that an updated base is to blame for a lot of this. The first round of custom ROMs I had that were based off the original stock seemed rock-solid. Now I've tried just about everything, and there are glaring problems with each of them. Sometimes I am embarassed because my phone has powered off during very important times--like on-call situations at night.
I have multiple wipe APKs, but I was told that the newer superwipe was the end-all be-all of wiping, so that's what I've been using lately. Right now I am using one of the more stable ROMs, Revolution HD 1.1.1, but I still get the random picture movement when rotating in Gallery, I still get really bad 3G/1X problems, where I have to frequently turn off mobile data to get it back... I have had it reboot on me twice in the last 2 days. One thing that really pisses me off, which is not specific to this ROM, is that when I am on WIFI, MMS messages tend not to send or receive... I can't recall if the original stock ROM had this problem or not. I have this issue with stock messaging as well as Handcent. The moment I disable WIFI, my messages appear with images.
Being that I didn't have these issues with truly stock ROMs, I don't believe it is a hardware issue. Am I the only one experiencing these problems, or are others just glossing over these sort of reliability issues, and accounting them to being a flashaholic, or something similar? The only reason I keep flashing is to find one that is rock solid. If I could get the original stock ROM with battery life to get me through an entire day, I'd be happy, but it didn't come close.
What ROMs did you try?
MMS Messages send and receive over WiFi for me just fine (Sense ROM) but on AOSP, they will not.
I suggest you try one of the lesser popular ROMs, as the top ones seem to have the most issues according to my reading and research.
If you want a fast, stable and great battery life that just works check out CleanROM. It is basically stock with the junk pulled out. The dev is very hands. Worth looking at the very least.
well it's a good thing everybody is not having the same issues you are so we know to ignore this useless thread. thanks for the info and cool story bro.
i have two words for you... user. error.
i have never had one issue with cleanrom, steel rom, or WTSB rom... or smokin rom...
all of which would easily be classified as "top roms" as you put it.
and right now i am on virus' eternity 1.4.... been on it, with the same kernel, same settings, etc... for roughly two weeks. zero issues there as well.
sooooooooooo..... either everybody just got lucky, or you are causing the issues you described.
i never have noticed even a blip of lag on eternity.

Everyone uses their device differently, has wildly different settings, applications, amount of time per day spent doing one thing or another. In some cases we can consider there to be user error, but this really is unlikely in this case. The problem lies in the fact that we have more ROM"chefs" than developers that actually have the knowledge to code their own ROM from the ground up, instead of pasting other peoples work together and calling it an advancement. You can't provide support or bug fixes for work that isn't your's and you have little to no coding experience. Most of these roms are like some you mentioned; a ROM that just has simple things like "bloat" taken out. Those types of chefs have a purpose here, and their roms are nice for some users but they aren't doing much for the improvement of Android overall, and they don't know enough to be trying to slap features in that they can't debug...
Anyway, rant over. I think your reply was hasty and offensive, not to mention based on what I have seen, inaccurate. I think you have been lucky personally because you are using roms like clean ROM that don't add or change much. Therefore you really wouldn't experience what this user is referring to.
I get random reboots often. The mms over wifi has never been an issue though.

Yes to some extent I see your point. Smokin rom is a build based on steel rom... steel rom however, is just steel rom. Clean rom has had little issues with previous builds but scott being a dev has worked everything out and optimized that rom to the max... and it has its own tweaks to it as well. Same thing with steel rom. I'm not sure what wtsb is based off of but I have never had problems with that one either.
And virus rom is damn near flawless. I have never had a problem with... ever. Since day one. Been running 1.4 for over 2 weeks and it is just as fast as it was the day I flashed it. So im confused by the op's post when he says after a few days they have all lagged and become slow
Was I a little harsh? Maybe. But was I right to think this person is simply complaining and wasting my time? Absolutely. This thread is just him complaining, not problem solving, not helping anybody, just knocking people's hard work when the real issues are found on his end obviously.
Yep. I just tried ViperROM Test4...boom! 100% wakelock while charging. Buggy.

Well ViperROM is actually known for having some problems. Viper is trying to fix that, but any other ROM that is posted (well some but not all) don't have any bugs unless they're posted on the OP. Any other weird hiccups you may experience will most likely be kernel related, such as the random reboots or severe battery drain. I've tried most of the ROMs here, and I have yet to experience any weird quirks unless they are the ones posted on the OP. There are some ROMs that do have weird bugs, but it's not all of the ROMs.

should you be whining about a "test" ROM having bugs? i think not, seeing as how it clearly says "Test" multiple times. what do you think test roms are for? to work out the bugs maybe. and phones are picky. all roms will not work perfectly for you. you "MUST" find the right rom/kernel combination that works best for the way you use your phone. less *****ing and more testing is all you need.

I'm with this guy.
Try a fresh install.
Only use stock apps for the first couple of days your trying.
The girlfriend used to have a stock unrooted Droid x that she would complain about screwing up but it was usually her using alternative music apps and such .
Also if you use titanium backup never batch restore your apps and data. Manually update each app that you want so your not restoring any nasty app data that might be screwing up your roms
Hope this helps

Yes, I've noticed it too but you just need to use a dose of caution and ask around. I tried about a half dozen ROM's and I've found that the ones that are more "tricked out" have the most problems. Makes sense, because they are fooling with more stuff in the ROM.
That said, there are some really fast and good ones out there. Deck's ROM never gave me any trouble but it was a little TOO stock for me. I've since switched to CleanROM 2.7 and that's incredibly solid and almost as fast as the tricked out OC'd ones. So try one of those preceded with a full wipe and you should be happy.

Seeing how this is a thread about "Buggy ROMs", I feel justified in my post. Did I ***** and moan and complain about the issue? No. Did I complain about lack of support? No. Did I complain about anything else? No.
I stated the problem...."100% wakelock while charging" and that's it.
Go preach elsewhere.

I was originally coming onto the forum to post about how every rom/kernel combo eventually starts freezing on me after a few days of use (causing me to miss alarms/calls/etc), when I ran into this post.
I do use Titanium backup pro to batch restore and have been doing so on the Hero/Epic/Shift/3vo. This is the first device that I have had any problems with, but it does seem to coincide with titanium backup since the stock rom was butter.
What's the method of manually updating each app? Is it simply downloading from the market and restoring data to that app? And how is that any different with the likelihood of restoring "nasty app data"?
OP, do you use titanium backup to batch restore apps too?
Everyone else, is there a log file that I can look at to discover the process that triggers the freeze?
No problems on the roms I've used at all. Most of these posts do end up being user error, or just a bad phone. As someone else suggested, try Cleanrom. It is bullet proof. Nothing fancy, but it works forever.
If there were more problems, there would be a ton more threads like this. Yet we only see a post like this every week or so...

Your experience with the new ICS roms and Leak ICS rom

I'm actually proof the ICS Phone Bricker 2.0.1 on may Samsung Galaxy SGH I777 and this is what i found on it:
1.-When i use the Talk app and somebody write to me it make a weird sound again....and again....and again......
2.- I must make around 15 wipes and go back to the factory kernel and root again my cellphone and over 3 hours or more left i make my phone works with my service provider because in ever install of this rom not works.
3.- Going crazy trying to recognize SD card on my PC.
4.- Lag buttons
5.- apk's like Android Overclock, or Chainfire 3D Pro Crashes if u reboot your phone.
6.- Takes a lot of time to sync with my Wireless Access Point.
7.- Some native functions on Setting not works.
Please comment your experiences about this ROMs.
Was on the rooted leaked ROM posted by task but I just restored back to UnNamed 2.2.1 after a couple of days. It bugged me that I was not able to view battery stats and contacts tab was missing in the dialer. I hated the wifi bug of it not being able to reconnect automatically.
I really liked that the stock messaging app did not show mms as slide show and I loved the pattern lockscreen (clock, brighter wallpaper and smaller dots). Never did get the weather to show on there though.
For me UnNamed works better. Might try out SHOstock this weekend if I am not too busy.

im on the ShishirROM ICS and i love this thing! i tried phonebricker and another one and then ShishirROM was the last one i tried and i have been on this ever since. i have yet to notice a single bug that i can find... i came from unnamed and i can say that i dont believe i am going to be going back to it since ive installed this. i have had it on my phone for 4-5? days.
I tried Mystic's rom and was not satisfied with ICS, i've been on unnammed 2.2.1 for awhile and with launcher pro it flys. I used Apex launcher but it still seemed that the rom lagged switching screens. I use email a lot for work and hated that the background was black instead of white like GB. Overall, the rom was well done by Mystic no real bugs I could see but I think I am going to wait for our source to drop and hope who ever did UnNamed makes an ICS rom. I can deal with the battery issues of KK6, I gotta have my speed.

We have the i9100 source already and the only real benefit from i777 leaks could be NFC if it were included. Ultimatum is a good ICS ROM which will be rebased soon. Phone Bricker is also good I don't know what the OP is doing wrong. Most of it is just waiting for better i9100 firmware to be released along with allowing time for our current kernels to mature a bit.

I've tried several ICS ROMs and they've all had some sort of bugs floating around in them. I'm currently using ShishirROM ICS and it's been the smoothest so far.
I think a lot of the problems are with the latest UCLC2 Modem. I was having major heating issues and reverted back to KH7. Now all is well.

Nobody else is having this issue as of yet.

Seriously? These are early stages and every build and kernel update makes things better.

Oh good Lord. Not only do we have like 2 dedicated ICS threads, this thread serves ABSOLUTELY no purpose. Im not going to allow threads to be started to bash Dev's hard work (THAT STILL IN PROGRESS I might add) and to just whine. If you dont like ICS, then downgrade back to GB. No need to start a thread about it.

ICS bugs seem to be device specific

I noticed something interesting with the latest ICS leak. I have a black/blue note and I flashed the DAG alpha rom and the phone works great. It reboots properly, SMS always works...in general its great.
My girlfriends white note, i followed the same procedure, same rom and hers is actually showing all the bugs everyones reporting. Her sms stops working, sometimes camera FCs, cant reboot using the menu and in general seems buggy.
It is definately interesting how the rom acts completely different on my girlfriends phone.

I generally find that restoring backups of apps and data leads to a lot of issues arising after a new flash, especially between a major version.
For the record I don't do backups, and haven't experienced any of the issues mentioned in other threads apart from poor signal. This was the same with the i9220 ICS leak on the N7000 - ran perfectly fine for me, but everyone had random FCs and whatnot, and found it unstable.
It may take longer to re-install all your apps from the Market one-by-one, but you generally reap the rewards in stability after a fresh flash, especially jumping between Android versions.
Of course everyone's mileage may vary, and I know a lot of people swear by their backups
I have a white one and have had absolutely no issues. I would definitely have her re flash it.

2x this, only takes me 15 mins to reinstall apps. Paid/tried TB, don't care for it.
I flashed ics 4 times, every which way and still have the annoying TW crash. Tried other launcher and they are laggy, although, Nova seems to be the smoothest but still laggy.
I ended up just flashing back to stock GB. Hopefully, official ICS will be released soon.

I'm running a white model, with the 'official' ICS leak and Nova Launcher Prime.
For those of you experiencing the 'Unfortunately, TwLauncher has stopped' crash, try a factory data reset (not a re-flash). You will always ALWAYS get a crash on the first Tw launch after a fresh flash, however I got numerous crashes so affected a factory reset and cache wipe through CWM. This fixed it for me and I haven't had one (I'm back and forth between TW and Nova).
For those experiencing lag, especially in third-party Launchers, there is a thread in the Development section called 'build.prop tweaks'. Get yourself a root-enabled editor (Root Explorer works fine), and edit the build.prop file to include all the mentioned tweaks (the Dalvik VM heap-size ones already appear, so you can just edit them - add the others in manually to the end of the build.prop file, you can use a # on lines that you don't want the machine to read for comments).
As an aside, you may or may not see an improvement in battery life with the 'power collapse' settings. For those with poor battery life now, try it out for certain. For those with good battery life currently (mine's better than GB by a long shot), when I tried this I lost power considerably quicker. You can easily edit those two lines out if need be.
These have improved overall zip for me measurably, and especially in Nova. Also, changing the scroll animations in Nova will have a marked impact on the overall performance for you.

Where do you find out if it's Korea or China?

Haptic feedback issues?
Hey ive got a white Note and i seem to have an issue (albeit small) where the vibration for the home soft key is delayed. Not a show stopper, but is pretty annoying. So could this be some sort of discrepancy between the internation Note's ICS build theyre also working on? (international has a hard home button, so i presume it wouldnt vibrate when pressed)
Anyway i was just wondering if anyone else had this problem?
I have that vibration thing too...but it doesn't annoy me. It kinda turns me on.

I have a black note on Rogers. I tried both the collective and alpha 1 roms and had a weird phantom vibration thing happening randomly. I had restored apps but not data using Titanium Backup. I flashed alpha 2 but this time installed all apps straight from the market, no TB, and I haven't had any issues or force closes at all, not even the TW launcher.

3x this. I've never done backups for any of my rooted, rom'ed Android tabs and phones. Have yet to see any issues aside from the general bugs everyone has with the ICS leak.
Google does basically everything I need in the cloud.
My Notes performance became unbearable. But I reinstalled the ICS leak and this time reinstalling my apps on an as needed basis. The result has been no lagging or fcs.
So that leads me to believe my issues have been application related. I will eventually find out which one but I have my suspicions.

[Q] JB ROMS

I'm running MIUI ROM from Th3Bill and loving it (thanks Th3Bill!), the latest release (.29) has transformed my phone - again.
I just have a question though.
I notice the bill releases lots of JB roms (AOKP, Paranoid Android, CNA, MIUI)..
I'm uncertain as to the difference between all of these.
do any work better or worse on the atrix 4g?
Don't get me wrong i'm not doubting TheBill for one microsecond, but am just curious as to why so many roms would be released by one person unless they have some difference between them, or is it just a different look and feel?
I guess i'm just wanting the best JB experience i can get with the ROMS currently available, and short of 'just trying them all', well. i took the lazy route and posted here to ask what fundamental differences there are to an end user perspective.
i understand the underlying release may have features which do not work with the atrix (cam/fp-sensor/tether) and this will be comon accross all ROMS using this underlying release.
thanks.
Gavin.
Best thing to do is probably use each for a day and see which ones have the features you like/need.
I haven't tried cna or pa yet, so I can't comment on their stability. I think since they are all based off the same cm10 that their issues (beyond the common issues of all the roms) are upstream. For example, I don't think any of the roms have camcorder 100 percent working, or native wifi hot spot. The individual roms probably have some smaller bugs that are upstream of th3Bill's work, like I said.
Here's a rough breakdown: miui is very themed/themeable and has some custom features like a cool lock screen, sms pop ups,... You probably know miui already, since you are on it. It's the most different from the rest.
Paranoid android specializes in tabet/phone hybrid ui, tweaking dpi for individual apps without reboot (I think)
Cna is the only jb rom (I think) that has custom lock screen targets yet. I don't know much about it other than that.
I'm on aokp, and I really like it. I like the notification toggles with a brightness bar underneath, and I like the rest of the systemui tweaks.
People can add to this, or correct me if I'm wrong about any of it.
Unfortunately it's a bit time consuming to set up a new rom every day, but there is only 4, so I'm sure you can find the time.... At some point.
I hope that helps a tiny bit. I'm still exploring them myself =)

Thanks for the quick and detailed reply.
Trust me to chose the 'most different' ROM (MIUI)
This is good information to have thank you, and gives me some comfort that i'm not missing out on anything, also that just trying each rom for a day or two is the way to do it.
Cheers for your help, although as my phone is a daily runner, i'll probably stick with what i know now (MIUI).
I may find a cheep atrix to try loading other roms onto soon and perhaps be adventurous with trying other roms on that.
many thanks
Gavin
Miui is definitely my favorite but it feels a little heavy/less responsive compared to aokp/cm10.
I can't comment on cna, or pa because I've never used them.
Aokp/cm10 are great. Fast and smooth and a few of the paid themes lurking around the play store are absolutely stunning, Dream, Lucid, PopStyle all amazing. I use Aokp because of it advanced visual preferences like centered clock, weather under toggles, sliders, lock screen tweaks, on screen nav buttons, stuff like that

I need my phone during the week too, so I usually try one out over the weekend. I definitely can't keep up with th3bill like that hah
Epinter
I´m using Epinter´s CM10 and I´m loving it. I find it very fast and my battery last all day.
I´ve tried MIUI and personally is the one I like the least. AOKP is good also, but not as good as Epinter.
I tried JB roms and my first ROM was CNA. But the provided build during my install had issues and Bill said he might take couple more days. Since it was more related to emails, i have to switch back to other ROM and switched to epinter.
I am on epinter CM10 and its i like it. But even in this ROM, i am having issues with apps like shopkicks not getting loaded.
And few times, when i launch four square app, i will see like slanting colored lines until i reboot.
Also rarely WiFi issues it wont connect and even not possible to disable Wifi until reboot.
But Battery wise i get nearly 1.5 to 2 days with regular use of browsing, 2 emails , texting and phonecalls.

Recommendations for ROM

I have been a member for a long time, but I never post anything so in that sense I'm new enough that I can't post this in the forum I wanted to, so I'm asking here. This is going to sound like a hateful rant and I'm sure someone is thinking, "If she knows that, then why is she hatefully ranting?" I am not ready to give up yet, so I'm explaining how I arrived at this point.
I have had my Gtab for about a year and a half. In that time I have rooted it and changed the ROM several times. I moved up to the 1.2 bootloader. In all this time I haven't really used it much because it just doesn't work right no matter which rom I try. Each rom will be ok for a few days, and then it starts getting glitchy. I got so fed up with it, I just parked it for several months and didn't touch it. Just recently I have installed the smoother bean rom. It is sort of ok but it doesn't 'just work'. I'm not a bigtime gamer, I like angry birds and sudoku. I surf the internet, watch videos, read books/magazines that are in epub format. When I study, I highlight text and make notes. When I sit down to study, I need it to work. No hangups or lockups or slow/frozen screens. When I get it out to use at the KH to follow along with the material I studied previously, I need it to just work. It has been to the point that I had to open the thing and physically unplug the battery to get it to behave. I was so excited to get this tablet and read all the information in these forums about it, so I knew what I was getting into when I bought it. The bloom is off the rose and I just want a tablet that does what I want it to do. I don't even care if it has jellybean or ICS or even Honeycomb at this point... I just want a tablet that works without having to fiddle around with the software.
And I don't install crazy amounts of apps. I think there are 7 or 8 that I use. Mainly Moon+ reader, Dolphin browser, Pinterest and Sudoku and Angry birds. I also like to sync my google stuff, calendar, contacts, email.
I'm am thinking I might put it back to stock and let it do all the OTA updates and see how it runs. But if I do that, I have to do the fix that makes the google market and stuff work. If I can do that and in the end have a working tablet that is decent and stable, I'll do it. Can anyone give me any feedback after having done this themselves? How was your tablet after? I remember how horrible it was out of the box. Is it better? MUCH MUCH Better? or just a little better.
Is there another rom that has been proven to be stable? I'm not worried if the camera or bluetooth doesn't work, I don't use those with the tablet. I don't think they are working right now, I'm not sure I haven't tried them since I installed the smoother bean rom. It can be any version of Android, I don't care.
I have given some thought to selling my gtab and getting another tablet, but I don't want to do that just yet. I know there has to be a solution, I just haven't found it yet.
Any feed back or suggestions would be most appreciated. The developers work hard on this tablet and have kept it going when Viewsonic themselves quit on it. I think that its really cool that there is such a devoted community of people who still love this tablet.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
My recomendation for "stable"
No expert here, but I have multiple g-tablets. For the "stable" ROM, I use Cyanogenmod cm-7.2.0-smb_a1002.zip
Hope that helps,
Jack
I have very similar experience as yours. Bought the gtab long ago, played for a while, then stashed away for several month, but pulled it out again while some brilliant devs actually put JB on it.
I will never ever go back to stock on gtab. Both Smoother Bean and G-Harmony Jellybean ROMs work reasonably well. In my opinion, they are already pushing the limit of the hardware.

Whereabouts can I download that ROM? I googled the file name and I found the cyanogen download page with the various releases but I wasn't sure which one to pick. I didn't see any that said for the gtab and to tell the truth, it was late and my eyes were sleepy! If you know of a place to download the ROM, I would appreciate it. I would like to give it a shot and see how it goes on my tablet. I'm also going to try out reinstalling JB. I didn't realize there was a update for smoOther bean. So, we'll see what happens.
For stability and full function of the Gtablet, you will probably want to use a Froyo rom. All other versions of Android required re-written drivers and/or kernel, as Viewsonic did not release an official version, and never released their source code. My favorite Froyo rom is:
TNT 6039
I used that rom with VTL Launcher for months, until TeamDRH released their JellyBean rom. You might need to make some minor modifications to see all the apps in the Play store, just read the thread.
I also have another Gtab that is running CyanogenMod. This became my 'stable' tablet. My parents, kids and nephews have used it for months with no complaints. If it gets a little slow, just wipe the cache and it speeds right back up again. Hardware acceleration does not work on Gingerbread, so major 3d games often have graphical glitches, but it is very stable. Here is a link:
CyanogenMod 7.2
If you can wait a few more days (hopefully!) TeamDRH will be releasing a new JB rom with their new kernel. I am currently running my own CM10 build with the new kernel and it is great. Very fast and stable. None of the released JB roms ran very well on my 'experimental' Gtab, so I built my own. After a ton of work, it is running even better than my 'stable' tablet, so I would be willing to bet that when they release their new rom, it will be the best available. Judging by the description of your usage, I would try CM 7.2.

Second that! :good:
When will TeamDRH be releasing a new JB rom?
Do you mind to share the new rom?
Thanks for the feedback ya'll. I did install the CM7 ROM and I also tried another one, I can't remember right now which one it was. I was tempted away by the G-Harmony Jellybean ([ROM-AOSP][BL-1.2]G-Harmony Jellybean 4.1.2 ODEXed (UPDATED 12/28)) , I installed the Overclocked version and I have to say it is doing very well. I did have some SOD's but I supercharged it and bumped up the CPU with No Frills CPU and since then it has had no trouble. Its been since Saturday that I installed this ROM and I have used it a bunch since then. I guess time will tell.
I do have a question tho about a problem I'm having but it's absutely not a deal breaker. I can't get google calendar to sync. I know other ROMS have had a package to install that fixed this but I wasn't sure if I could do that with this rom. I don't want to jack up my install. I don't absolutelly have to get the calendar working right now. I don't have reliable internet at home, so the only time I get online with the thing is when I wifi tether to my phone. Was just wondering if anyone knew how to resolve this issue. Again, I would post in the forum for this ROM but I'm not allowed yet.
Thanks!

When DRH is ready to release their new rom, it will likely be on the other forum first. Search Google for "gtablet roms 1.2/1.3" and that forum will be listed at the top of the page. Can't link you to it, else I may anger the XDA Moderators! Sounds like they are very close, just waiting on a new recovery.
As for my current build, just a basic CM10 build with a few minor customizations (my chosen boot animation, removed/replace system apps, changes to build.prop, etc.). I cannot share it because I am using the new (unreleased) kernel, and it's a pretty 'plain' version of CM10, but you can easily build it all yourself. Once you have your build environment setup, it is easy to rebuild an updated version any time you like. Only thing is, you are on your own when it comes to troubleshooting and support! If you are interested, I can link you to the info I used to figure out how to build the kernel and CM10, and the Git locations of the required source code. You would need a decent computer running 64bit Linux (I use Arch Linux, but Ubuntu is easier to setup), about 50GB hard drive space, and some free time. I just did it for fun, plus I'm impatient and wanted to try the new kernel, and none of the JB roms at the time would run well for me.
Best ROM for G-Tab
Hi all,
I bought my G-Tab whentheyfirst came out and have tried about 13 or 14 ROM's over the last (nearly) two years. In my opinion the best is SmoOtherBean by Nobe1976. Out of the box it is pretty good, I made a few minor adjustments after the install and it is running perfectly.
Changed dpi to160 (enabled Music / Movies in the Play Market)
Used ROM Toolbox to delete Music FX and DSP Manager (fixed problem where music would suddenly blare or change volume)
Set min/max CPU to 312 / 1200 (seems to wake up faster, no lags when browsing, etc)
Give Nob1976 a thumbs up if you like his ROM - stop the trolls who have chased off so many devs.....

Running SmoOther Bean but it starts up laggy?
Nice you gave me some more settings to try. Don't know that I want to change the DPI or have any issues with volume. Did change CPU settings. Anything else you'd recommend?
After it's run for about 10 minutes, it seems to work OK, only occasional lag. I'm setting background processes limit to none on every boot up. Anyone have a way to make that change stick between reboots?
Thanks!

Check out nobe1976 UnOfficial -BAKED ROM
For anyone who is "still looking" for something stable, check out noble1976 modified Blackbean (on this site).
I am very satisfied with this "beta" version that this maybe will be the last one I'll be using (its that stable for me).
A big THANK YOU to Noble1976 for his hard work on getting this version to work on the gtablet and his PAC rom and all the other help he has given to us. :good:
What's your experience like with Blackbean?
Are you seeing any startup or sleep lag like I'm getting with SmoOther Bean? I switched from Go Launcher EX to the default one (Apex?) and it does seem a bit better.
Would like something a bit more responsive for daily use though. What's involved to flash Blackbean over SmoOther Bean? Repartition, etc?
Thanks for the heads up on this - might give it a shot when I hear back from you! Sounds like a good weekend project!

BAKED Bean you will must NVFlash to the new 2013DRH setup. The boot.img in that ROM is the latest fosser2 3.1.10 kernel. The mounting is completely different other then the System. So updating the Tablet with the latest that is linked in the OP should be done to the T.

The only "lag" I'm seeing is after the opening screen animation the screen goes blank for 10sec or so. So, just wait till the regular default screen appears.
And be sure to do what Nobe1976 said. It went very easy for me changing over, for I already have used NVFlash 2013DRH version with
nobe1976 "PAC" ROM. Good Luck.
