Installed MESA HYBRID 4.3 Yesterday and i am not able to install any CM10/10.1 based ROM
Whether it be PACman/CM/AOKP or the unofficial Cm10.1 by shufuking.

Tried removing the first three lines from the updater script and it still dosent work
Re: Trouble installing CM10./10.1

You've only listed one thing you've tried, but if you have tried everything else then god knows.
status 7 error means you formatted the system. Never format system. Try a google search. you will get xda links of people explaining how to recover from that.

this thread will help.

Thanks for the help , but unfortunately this didnt helped me either...
Tried installing the ROM without Formatting the system while wiped the data and cache .
Still gives me the ****ty status 7 error .
@XperienceD - Even tried FXP 213 and MIUI 142.
Gives the same error.
Re: Trouble installing CM10./10.1
This happens to me too.
So the best solution for now. Flash the roms you want using the provided kernel.
Then take a backup, flash Mesa, switch between roms via restoring them from recovery.
I do so

I know that will work, but I really wanted a workaround for this :/
Switching kernels every time isn't a solution after all

I had this problem as well. I searched through google and found out the solution is to flash a newer version of CWM which actually worked for me. I couldn't find a separate package with CWM but I found a kernel containing it. Everything has been fine since then.

Flashed to a newer version of CWM ?
I guess MESA already has CWM6.xx
You found a kernel containing it means ? Most of the kernels already use CWM as default recovery I guess

MESA also uses dual recoveries and TWRP as default.
What did he exactly meant ?
Flash another CWM on top of the pre-installed recovery ?

if you have unlocked bootloader, try some of the kernels which use newer cwm or twrp.
if on locked, i think xparts installs latest cwm.

Flash boot.img (in the zip by rom)
Install Zip
Install Gapps
Wipe data (do this first and only once and never do it again)
then flash custom kernels ..

I used CF-Root-SGS2_XW_NEE_KI8-v4.3-CWM4.zip, and when it was finished the phone restarted but it stopped on the loading screen. What should i do?

Dear reader,
I've been trying to root my phone for a couple of days now. (Sony Xperia Ray ST18i)
I've browsed to numerous forums/websites in search of a good tutorial/guide to help me do it.
Finally i've managed to find youtube clips which helped me step by step to getting it done.
First thing i did was this:
How to unlock BootLoader on Xperia Ray[Official 4.0.4 ICS]
[Can't post links on here yet because of the spam block. If you look for the title on youtube, you should be able to find it]
I already encountered my first problem there. I wasn't able to unlock bootloader on my android 4.0.4 so i downgraded my phone to gingerbread 2.3.4. After that i repeated the unlock bootloader tutorial and i succesfully managed to unlock it.
After this i tried to root my phone with the easy rooting kit v.1.0
This worked but after turning my phone on, i noticed that the phone wasn't actually rooted yet.
After contacting the person who made the bootloader video, he told me that i had to flash my kernel. So i went ahead and used another of his video tutorials. (don't mind his english accent btw)
How to flash costum kernel[Sony Xperia Ray]
[Can't post links on here yet because of the spam block. If you look for the title on youtube, you should be able to find it]
Now this, running with gingerbread 2.3.4. worked without a problem and i currently have a custom kernel installed onto my phone.
This is where i run into my problem.
According to his next video tutorial:
How to root Xperia Ray
[Can't post links on here yet because of the spam block. If you look for the title on youtube, you should be able to find it]
He shows that you need to be in your phone's regular menu, in order to root your phone with the easy root kit made by DooM.
My problem is that i currently am stuck in the phone kernel menu. When i try to let my phone load up normally, it just keeps rebooting.
The kernel menu btw looks exactly the same like the one shown in the link below:
Xperia play (HOW TO ROOT, FLASH KERNEL, FLASH ROM )
[Can't post links on here yet because of the spam block. If you look for the title on youtube, you should be able to find it]
Now i've tried my best to be as detailed as possible with what my current situation is.
My question would be: What am i doing wrong and how can i root my phone from where it is right now, because as it stands. I'm unable to use my phone.
Kind Regards,
Cashtecz
ps. ( i did a quick search on the forums but i haven't come across as post that shares the same problem as i have)

The current rom that i'm using doesn't have google play store in it, and i would like to have it so i can install apps such as whatsapp.

If your bootloader is unlocked, not via pc companion or over the air.
On which rom are you currently on?
Normally you do a backup with for example titanium backup and flash the custom kernel, install the custom rom and restore the titanium backup...
P.S.: For every android version there is a zip file which contains the "gapps" (google apps like playstore) which you can flash with clockworkmod

Yes i did exactly what the guide said:
8. Now select “Wipe Data / Factory Reset” and then “Wipe partition cache” option (this is why you need to backup your data from the Xperia Ray).
