P760 wont turn on, wont charge - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Out of the blue, phone went dead. I dont know why really. It honestly didnt get any moisture, or bad current, I never charged it via USB. I have drained it couple of times to zero battery but it charged after that. this time, it was at 22% wen I went to sleep, in the morning it was dead.
I know that this issue always resolves with: "use warranty" suggestions but I tried, and being that I live in a weird country that wont happen. Generic answers like "water damage" with the sticker still white and all that.
ADB doesnt see the phone, also.
anything anyone has to suggest other than telling me phone is dead (obvious) and to use warranty (which I cant) .. ? Please help, this is my first LG and maybe there is a solution that works

Have you tried :
hard reset - turn off your phone, press and hold Vol-, the home key, and the power for 8 seconds.
or
fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119090

Will try it in the morning (6-7 hours) as I hafe dissasembled and analzed the whole device internaly for possible rust or theoretical moisture from cold weather. Found None. Really hope this device isnt one of those that just die for no reason

battery might have gone dead. get it charged externally for few minutes and then try charging with phone. if it works for first time, then its time to change battery.
well, this is just a possibility.

for all you people, if you ever get in same situation:
Phone was moisture damaged. I didnt get it wet, but there are 2 possibilities:
1. a friend told me that all the shipped phones, compared to the air cargo phones, get damaged no matter how good protection is. If they are shipped to your country from the land of origin, they are most probably water damaged already. Being that I live in Serbia, and all the importers of goods use ships instead of air cargo (big price difference), my phone may be water damaged before ever turned on.
2. it was a ridiculous weather in Belgrade, with minus temperatures in March, so a simple condensation may have damaged the phone.
SOLUTION:
Service shops CAN repair the phone if it was moisture damaged instead of immersed, because air moisture damages only certain electrical circuits, instead of the whole board. My phone is at a service shop now, and the guy is inspecting the damaged circuit. It can be restored, and if the damage is high it would require replacement of the circuit which is kinda tricky cause it requires very similar board like the one LG L9 has, for harvesting.
If anyone maybe somehow finds a working SIM free motherboard for LG L9, please let me know cause I cant find it online. Just one ebay entry with "works but has issue" which I wont buy.

I've bricked L0 P760 also - suddenly turned off and can't charging anymore(tried another good battery but didnt help).
I've followed some instructions from xda a tried everything (on 3 PC's - win7 and XP) but no joy.
Installed unified Lg driver, OMAP drivers (but problems with them is constantly switching on/off), started Fastboot by Lelus on my pc,
followed instructions and fastboot worked fine, installed Lg USB Port(changed to 41), then opened Lg Flash Tool and after 40 seconds
Lg USB Port disconnect by its own...
Tried with Lg Mobile Support Tool too and UpTestEX_mod2_marwin but still same problem - Lg USB port disconnected after some time.
Any ideas?

So what is the next step after fastboot. Flash kdz? BTW my phone has unlocked bootloader and it just does not turn on all of a sudden.
Not a battery issue. Tried different batteries. Thanks!
Thanks!

LG Optimus L9 P769 is not charging
My LG Optimus L9 P769 is not charging. I have used the same charger on other phones and it works. I removed the battery and charged it on an external charger and the phone works normally other than not charging.
I have done a hard reset after turning off the phone and pressing and holding Vol-, the home key, and the power for 8 seconds but that did not help!
As a last resort, I also replaced the Flex Cable Charging Port and Flex Cable Dock Connector using the part on the attached image but the phone still does not charge.
Can anyone suggest what I may do next to repair the phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

[Q] Dead Galaxy S2

hey, about a week ago I flashed my galaxy s2 with Resurrection ROM,everything went great,I also wiped emmc in the recovery(before I knew about the hard brick bug)
anyways everything was fine, restored via titanium backup, after about an hour I wanted to restart my phone,so it turned off,but never turned on,it won't respond to charging, usb connections won't go to download mode nor recovery..just makes some heat (as it was turned on)
so I took it to a well known repair shop and told me he could revive it with a J-Tag
but I'am just worried :s
what could be the problem?
What could the problem be ? Without opening your phone up & having a look/testing how would we know ?
Sounds like something on the mainboard or the USB/charging circuitry might have died given it died suddenly & not while you were in the process of flashing something/similar, though if he's telling you it's fixable with JTAG then he obviously thinks it's a NAND issue.
Take it to another repairer & get 2nd opinion (or a 3rd, 4th, etc).

My phone dead too.. Was using NeatRomLite and there was no issue with it.. And today... *sniff sniff*.. in the middle of using the phone, it got stuck.. I pulled the battery.. gave it 2 min.. and tried to power it on.. nothin.. no download mode, no recovery, no charging indicators.. nothin.. it has as much functionality as a piece of rock now :crying:
Any updates on your S2's???
today i checked my phone and within an hour the battery had gone down from 70% to 30% and was hot reading 48 degrees celcius on widgetsoid monitor. i rebooted and it kept on draining till it got to 0 and turned off. once i got home and tried to charge through USB and A/C but nothing happens, the phone wont turn on or charge, blank screen. i saw it flash the battery charging icon for about a second but it went away straight away. about a month ago i was running cm9 and then flashed 4.0.4 to have a look at the differences but not long after flashed siyah kernel with odin and restored my cm9 cwm backup. i have been on cm9 and siyah kernel for a long time and thats what it had running today. ive had usb and a/c and misc charging current set to 600mA for quite a while as well, and when i charge the phone in my car it always gets a bit hot on the back.
is my phone dead from hardbrick or a problem with the usb charging circuit?
i have enquired about warranty where i bought it from and now waiting to hear back from them.

[Q] Phone Wont Turn On/Charge - Not Bricked

Hi Everyone,
After doing a deep search i did not find the exact problem I have.
Specs:
Phone: SGS2 i9100
ROM: CM10 Nightly 08.09.2012
Kernal: CM Stock
You can see the symptoms of my problem in the video I found below (it wont allow me to paste link with less than 10 posts so i shortened the URL)
youtube.com/watch?v=BCyp1iCTW2M
This is what happened:
1. I had an Adapter from Car Outlet to USB so i connected my phone using it but it seemed they did not like each other.
The phone was stuck on a black screen so I restarted it and noticed I lost 40% battery in those few minutes, looking at BBS i saw the RIL wakelock so decided its just a coincidence and i'll let the battery drain all the way to calibrate it at night (the phone worked perfectly fine)
2. After the battery was fully drained I connected it to the PC to charge and turned it on and everything was fine, noticed it was at 0% so after a few minutes it turned off, after doing it a couple of times i let the phone charge "turned off" (thought maybe its low voltage of PC charge) through the whole night
3. at morning it did not charge at all, I managed to "almost" turn the device on but now the battery is really drained so i cant even do that
4. when i tried going into download mode (just to see if my phone is OK) i managed, when i am trying now i get "Battey is to low, cannot download"
5. I cant get into recovery mode, but i tried it after all the process above so its probably because of low battery
6. I tried it on 2 diffrent batteries (unfortunately my old one was also drained before)
- Anker 1900
- Original Samsung 1650
I am going to get an AC charged and try using it.
Any Ideas what should i do or what the problem is ?
Thanks in advance!

This is the way to go. First make absolutely sure the battery is charged, if possible by testing it in another device. With a fully charged battery it should be possible to find out if your phones hardware is still fine, especially the charging board.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply!
So far i got an AC charger for the phone (not a battery only cradle charger kind of thing) but getting the same problem.. it just wont charge the battery through the phone..
I'll try to get a fully charged battery to give feedback that the phone is fine and not bricked in any way as i mentioned before.
If everything is fine i'll see that the battery is chargeable when not completely dry and we'll be smarter after that.
in case it really became unchargeable and it is a problem in the charging board as you mentioned
Could you please expand on the functionality of the charging board ? and whats the process for fixing/replacing it ?
Thanks in advance!

Excellent! If it is not bricked then chances are good that it is 'only' a battery/charging problem.

If, in the end, the phone does not charge by the USB connector (no matter if from PC or wall plug) then it could be worth to replace the flex print with the USB connector and parts of the charging electronics. This flex print is quite cheap and you can get it from ebay. With the help of some video from youtube you should be able to replace it yourself
Well,
I have an update on the issue.. unfortunately can't say its a good one..
I've tried turning on the device with a diffrent battery (charged) and it workes perfectely fine.
since I live far i didnt want to wait a month till i get the USB flex from ebay i went to a repair lab and let the test the phone.
Unfortunately it is not the USB Flex but a deeper problem,
apparently the u500,u501,u504 parts got fried on the MB and they don't have them at all.
I am going to try to restore my phone (using a full battery) to the way i bought it and try go to the store and work the warranty (it voids as soon as i changed ROM), going to have to read a lot on how to do it perfectly and erasing traces of changes (go an old nand and need to unroot afterwards)
do u know a good guide for restoring the phone to full stock ?
Also,
is it possible to buy a complete MotherBoard for the GS2 or its not worth it ?
Thanks for the help!

There are quite a few guides around here that deal with unrooting and getting the device ready for official service. Personally I just make sure the flash counter is reset (TriangleAway or JIG) and then flash a stock firmware.

I had the device opened several times. Replacing the MBO should not be too difficult. There are only some screws and connectors.

If the warranty wont work than I saw its around 150$ but if that will solve it it might be worth it instead of buying a new phone.
Thanks Again!
They are a lot more than that unless you are in USA/Canada.Theres a firm on eBay that give you $30-$50 for your old board, and they sell theirs for around $180.
Samsung would be around $250...

So.. After a long time (!!) I have an update.
No lab fixed my phone as everyone said its "unfixable" or need to replace some parts that they don't have... so I did what I planned to do.
I took a full battery from a friend
Restored the phone to full stock (the same official "partner" ROM I got the phone when bought it (even putted Android 2.3 on it LOL)
formatted my SD card , and of course did a "Triangle Away" to reset the flash counter
basically returned the phone to the way i bought it..
Since I still had around 2 month on the warranty I went to the store i bought the phone from and they accepted the phone based on warranty, as i didn't install any ROM's (LOL )
Only TODAY after more than a month and a half of wait, while it was at their official lab, after that was sent abroad to the Vendor itself, after nobody was able to fix it I got a new phone (14 days used phone) so, considering i was ready to throw my phone and by a new one it turned out OK.
since no one was able to fix it, it was probably a major problem.
Of course its better i got a new one, since even if they fixed the issue, who know what else it might effected so its a very good result.
Don't know if this helps anyone a lot, but at least its some closure to the thread.
Thanks for everyone who helped here!

[Q] Dead device? please help..

Hi all, i got my Galaxy S2 about a year ago (9100 normal, non AT&T or verizon or another else ) and i never encountered problem like this. One day i was texting on the toilet, and unfortunately it fell down on a bowl of water and its all soaked. I just turn it of and take out the battery, when i turn on it again, the start mode triggers, the icon Samsung igt 9100 is showing up and it keeps blinking and blinking, bootlooping. many of my friend said that it is fine and just wait for the water inside the machine to dry up, like one week or so. but after one day i tried to turn it on, the yellow triangle below the 9100 logo is gone ( i think its resetted and everything is gone ) and it went to download mode. But after that, i was not careful enough and my battery fell off, and the phone is turned off dead. and after all of that, i can't even turn on the phone, nothing happened, its like a dead phone without battery.
i went to many forums and many people tried to fix it using the download mode USB jig recovery kit, i bought the i9100 USB jig on the eBay, its arrived today. I tried to plug in on my phone, and i try to turn it on and even every boot method ( download mode, and recovery mode ) and holding the power, still nothing happens. what should i do...?? does that means my cellphone is dead forever? :crying::crying:
You should have put it in a bowl of dry rice for a couple of days to completely dry it out. I think you turned on your phone too soon with the risk of having it f**cked for good.

Unfortunately it is dead, because you did not wait til it dryed out before starting. You fried the flash chip which contains the information for the phone to run.
Only way to fix it is to replace the motherboard. Which means it becomes a new phone with different IMEI.

Phone dead, battery overheating, won't boot

One day when the battery went down i put my phone on charging, after some time came an error msg popup..
' your battery temperature is getting high force shutdown'
when i switched of my phone and rebooted it doesn't boot..
now the phone is dead..
guess the battery maybe drained. dont hav any alternate battery.. tried another charger , no luck..
tried pressing vol up key+home+power, no luck..
while connected to charger, phone heats up near the camera, under the sim slot.. (heats up even when connected without battery)
on warranty period, going for the service center.. is there anything else i can do?
If you have warranty I would just go that route. Even if you can bring it back to life it may have caused some damage to the internals and would probably crap out again.

LG L9 P765
If im replying you..then be a good bytch.....
Got my mainboard replaced from Lg service center.. got it workin, but now i hav noise and disturbance during call...
LG Optimus L9 P760 can of course overheat itself then force shutdown.
Instructions:
1. Wait until your device cools down completely.
2. Plug charger in. In case your battery was entirely empty, after plugging the charger in, your screen may not respond for a while. It's because your device hasn't got enough voltage to turn screen on. Only thing you need to do is start charging your phone and even if it doesn't seem like it's being charged, leave it that way. After 10-15 minutes press home button to see if screen is back alive. If yes, you're fine. If not, take it to service.
I hope this helps.

[Q] LG L9 p760 Dead!

I buyed LG L9 P760 yesterday, second hand device..
I was pretty happy about it because i got it for about 80€ and then all of this selling, fixing and buying stuff with mobile phones punched me right
between the eyes!
The problem is, device came with bumper, usb and a charger. So when i came home, the touch screen became crazy as hell. I just couldnt belive it..
I was unable to write a word, couldnt hit the right icon, touch was so miscalibrated i couldnt belive it. So i tought it might be a software issue because
it would freeze from time to time and nothing would help but hard reseting the phone. While dealing with it, in one moment i disconnected the phone from
the computer and the phone just died. And thats it..He's dead now. I left it on charger over the night, nothing happened, tried connecting it back to the computer, nothing. Computer doesnt even recognize the device. I couldnt do a hard reset, couldnt get into a S/W mode, recovery mode or anything else. I aslo left the battery out for half an hour, nothing. Then i took it apart all the way down, nothing. Everything seems to be normal. No water damage or what so ever..At least i think. So it must be a motherboard.
I just want another opinion because thats kinda strange. It just died in the moment when i unplugged the USB cabel from cellphone.
Ofcourse, i cant do anything with phone right now because i cant even connect it to a pc..
Greetings, thanks.
Anyone?! :good:
