[Q] what is my atrix 4g status? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Thank you for the answer for the old question.
I want to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167927 this.
I have epinter CM10.1 now.
What I need to do?
Do I need just enter the CWM and wiped everything and then flash the zip file?
or I need to do something more?
OLD:
I rooted my device with some quick root tool. (I don't remember where I found the guild).
I have unlocked my bootloader too. (I don't really remember but I think I made that with a guild from androidadvices. His title is :"How to Unlock Motorola Atrix 4G Mobile Phone")
My device is bought from ORANGE. (I think that I belong to Bell's group of ROMs. not AT&T).
I have flashed CM10 by epinter and then CM10.1 by epinter.
Now I want to give the phone to my little brother and I want to flash a ROM with all the webtop apps and blur apps.
I want a ROM with the minimum bugs. I prefer based of official 2.3.6 ROM
What ROM can you suggest me?
Do I need to do some changes with the phone before wipeing everything in the CWM and flashing ROMs ?
Thanks ahead.

This is based on 2.3.6 and is an updated version of a rom that many of us used for a long time as our daily driver.

Nottachtrix for sure will be the best option, there is another v2 version with a lot of things in the installer

[Q] Flash a custom rom on Atrix UK with old baseband. HELP!

Hello, i'm italian so sorry for my poor english...!!!
I have an atrix ORANGE UK, already rooted and unlocked with gingerbreak.
On my phone i read:
system version 4.1.31.MB860 Orange.en.gb
Android 2.2.2
Baseband n_01.86.00r (not the latest)
Webtop ver
Oshwt_u1_6.34.0
Buld
OLYEM_U4_1.3.1
1- I want to flash a custom rom, like the INTL Darkside 2.0, but i read that the faux123's kernel is optimized for the latest baseband....is it right?
And what will happen if i flash a not INTL rom (or just after i don't flash the fixed kernel)?
2- If i check for updates an alert inform me that a 40mb OTA update is available for download...have i to install it or will it brick my phone...???
3-So what have i to do before i can flash safely?
That's my 1st android phone after 7 years with windows mobile....and i have flashed several time various WM phones.
i read A LOT of threads on this forum but i'm VERY confused...too much informations mixed from AT&T e INTL......
Thanks a lot!!
Mirko
Don't worry about the baseband. As long as you are bootloader unlocked and you flash a kernel that is international and tegra part identifying.
Darkside does flash the fight kernel by itself so you can go ahead. I believe that the update is safe(not certain though) but is unnecessary if you are going to flash a rom

Thanks a lot!!!
Now i'm going to try to flash the Darkside rom...i will let you know!

[Q] New to GSII - Differences of rom version and fast how-to!

Hi everyone! I've had for an year an amazing Nexus S (aw.. so google..) and now I'm a very happy owner of a GSII (so freakin' fast!). I thouhgt to keep the telephone with the original rom waiting for ICS but... when I saw the so HEAVY personalization by samsung! Sigh... it's so Gingerbread! it even seems ICS!
Now the question.. I've seen so many acronyms near the roms. What they stand for? I mean like XXLPQ, LPQ, LPE, XXLPH or stuff like that.
And what if I would put on a rom that is PURE GOOGLE? I saw the WanamLite, is it stable/fast/daily-use? Do you suggest this or other roms?
How to install cooked roms? With the NS you have to unlock the bootloader, install the cwm and you're done. Do you have to unlock the bl with the GSII? Can I install the cwm with rom manager and then I'm done?
THANKS A LOT!

That is the firmware version and/or region. Latest is ICS XXLPQ.
I suggest you Checkrom v6 (soon ICS!) is the most stable popular and stable rom around.
Thanks, but how? xD
As I said I don't have idea. Any bootloader to unlock? Just download rom manager and install the cwm?
Start with the faqs guides and other stuff all sticked at the top of the page .

Follow the instructions for each cooked rom basic is flash via CWM recovery for most .
Rom MaNAGER GIVES PROBLEMS ON sgs2 .

Just find correct cf-root for you phone to get root and cwm, also only rom's for sgs2 that have stock ics look are cm9 and bezke ics (which I can't get to boot)

galaxy phones can be tricky if you came from a nexus. Basically you have to read the FAQs, but in terms of flashing stuff the biggest difference is that the recovery and kernel are linked. You can't flash a separate recovery, and that's why you can't use clockworkmod.
There is no bootloader unlock thingy also. But you'll need Odin instead.
Keeps these points on mind and then read the FAQs again. And good luck!

Check out galaxys2root.com. It has detailed video tutorials on everything you need.
I bought my GS2 only 5 days ago and already went through installing Resurection remix 9.4, 9.6 and 9.7 and loving it
I've just installed the Omega V5.0 ICS ROM and its awesome, and is based off the XXLPQ firmware
Method,
I started from a 2.3.5 firmware, rooted it using a cf-root-sgs2_xx_oxa_ki3-v4.1-cwm4.zip and odin.
I copied the Omega zip rom to my sd card, rebooted into clock work recovery (the chainfire kernel installed clockwork automatically)
Followed the instructions for doing the thee wipes on the Omega home page.
and did the install from the sd card.
Hope that helps some...
Obivously every custom rom has its own instructions.

JB Bootloader and other??'s

Hey all. Quick question for ya. I am going to flash one of the JB roms to my wifes galaxy tab 10.1 this weekend.
She is currently running task's honeycomb rom. She has been running that for a good 5 months now.
What order do I proceed to get her to JB??
Must I flash an ICS rom first then flash a JB rom??
Do I need to flash a JB bootloader or an ICS bootloader?? If so where can I find them. Been searching the forum with no luck.
Any other info would be greatly appreciated. Specifically the orders or anything I have overlooked.
Thanks in advance,
Nycorduroy
not mandatory to have an ICS step, you can directly go to JB.
you just need CWM, you probably already have it if you are running task's rom.
backup your app (titanium is a great tool in my opinion)
copy rom file to your tab
make a full wipe (+cache +davilk)
flash rom
reboot and enjoy

This does not belong in the Development section. All questions need to be put into the Q&A section. Please do that from now on.
With that said, I am not sure about the bootloader but you probably need to update your version of CWM recovery, and you can find out about that as well as the bootloader stuff in the threads for CM10/JB. Pershoot's threads are probably a good place to look as well.
Edit: well someone got to it first, follow their instructions as well

Yes, Pershoot stated in Android 4.1.1 - CyanogenMod 10 Preview thread that you need to have a US HC or ICS bootloader in order not to have charging SODs. If you have a US bootloader you should be fine if not flash a stock US HC or ICS rom via Odin before you flash CM10 (you'll loose all data on the tab). Alternatively there are flashable US bootloaders but I've never tried one. I can't put the links because search feature is is temporarily unavailable.
Finally, You could still get charging sods and some wifi problems etc. even if you came from a US bootloader. Pershoot says a small minority will face these issues no matter what. A hard reset fixes these issues temporarily. If you could wait a little bit more a new cm10 is on the way with 3.1 kernel which is supposed to work fully functional. But still, I think current CM10 is the best rom available right now.

Australian DROID RAZR XT910

I have an DROID RAZR XT910 GSM/CDMA with the following stock ICS: 673.94.328.XT910.Optus.en.AU, Version 4.0.4, Build 6.7.3-94_SPI-328 and while looking at all the mods and roms out there I'm not confident in flashing this device because the version numbers are different and I don't wanna brick my phone (at close to AUD$800 I think you can understand why) so need help with getting JB onto it (impatient here in OZ, last round from GB to ICS took 6 months from advertised to actually going OTA here). Phone is rooted, have Titanium Backup and SuperSU installed but:
1: don't know how to back up the whole stock in case of failure and need to reinstall
2: not sure that any ROMs are safe to use in my phone (differing stock numbers etc)
3: what other software needed to make this happen
Can anyone please help!?! (where's that old interrobang when you need it)

Hi!
I'm an Aussie user but bought mine through Kogan (so it's a German phone). If you've already rooted the phone and have Stock ICS I'd recommend installing SS3.11 or BMM and running another JB ROM rather than try to flash stock.
There's heaps of threads with great ROMs on here and the Development thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162827
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028020
Personally I use SS3.11 with CM10.1 as my daily and it's fine. I can also recommend AOKP4.22 which is now officially supported on XT910.
Benefit of this setup is that I can also boot back to stock whenever I want.
Cheers and happy flashing!

This is a bit late to see this thread, but there is a thread for the retail.au 4.1.2 official. If you do a search of the forum with "retail" and "au" you'll find it. Stock rom that needs to flash a kernel first.
First be sure to root if you're still on ICS. There's a one-click root tool in the development section.
Requires BMM 0.3.4, from there you can install the recovery and reboot into it. It allows you to do a nandroid backup.

[Q] Updatin Version and changing Rom

Hello everyone .
I don't know what to do . I am sitting a lot , trying to update my version (4.0.3) to 4.2.1. Also, i am looking for a stable Rom with working GPS.
Do i have to update my version in oder to put a Rom that based on a newer Version?
I got Ics Passion v13 with 3.1.10-ICS Passion Kernel.
I tried to update from Kies but it doesn't recognize my Phone (There is no option in the ICS ROM to put the USB connection in Kies mode )
I really need help - how to update the version and what Kind of Rom and Kernel are the bests in your opinion ?
Thanks for helping =]

You can try the new AOKP build. Vibrantmtd is once supported again instructions for installing the rom are listed in the thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2208126.
As far as GPS is concerned it is either a hit or miss...might work or it might not. Unfortunately I am not able to test it since my vibrant is bricked
But I can tell you that AOKP is an excellent rom I been using it for nearly a year now since I bought my Galaxy Nexus. It is far much better than ICS passion in every aspect. Never had any problems with it.
As for the kernel I can't really say which one I would recommend since I honestly can't ever recall flashing a kernel for my vibrant...I've always used the kernels that are included in the ROM(S).
Just remember to backup your apps...because you will lose them in the process since this is not an update...it is more of an upgrade(4.0.3 to 4.2.2).
Good luck and feel free to ask any more questions.

The ROM will update you straight to 4.2.2. I don't think you need to be on 4.1 to update or any other version for that matter. Just flash the ROM through recovery and you should be good to go. Good luck.
You can use my cyanaosp build which is reported to have good gos from many users http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167819
