Hey, I have a Visual Land Connect 7 running on Android 4.0.4. I would like to update it to 4.1.1 because on JB the inderface is much smoother and it would be less glitchy on my tablet. I tried checking for an update but it said that I need an update.zip in order to see if I am capable of an update. I looked online to see if I could get an update.zip...but it seemed to me that in order for me to get an update, I will have to have a certain device. I tried looking for a update.zip for my device and had no such luck...Now my only real option is to ask forums...to see if that helps. Information about the device will be linked below. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

I purchased a generic Tablet running Android for my wife about 4 months ago. She hated it and we were able to get an HP TouchPad cheap, so she is using that and I got the Android Tablet.
It runs slowly and I would like to do some modifications to it. I have searched for hours trying to figure out what I have and where I can go for advice, ROM's, etc, but I can't find anything specific to the device. It's one of those Chinese "knock offs". I do have the following info:
Model #: Android for Telechips TCC8900 Evaluation Board
Android Version: 2.3.1
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-tcc [email protected]#12
Build #: full_m57te-eng2.3.1 GRH778 20110414.162501 test-keys
Also, it shows as a "haipad" in windows explorer when I set it up as USB connected to my windows XP computer.
I'm looking to root it, and then possibly a new ROM & Kernel so I can overclock it (it's really slow @ 800Mhz).
If anyone can point me to the correct site/post, I would be VERY grateful.
Hello, I 2 years ago I was playing a lot with putting different ROM's on my HD2. However, now I can not remember sh*t about how was it happening.
I can't even remember what exact ROM I am using, so I have no idea how to update.
What I know is
Android version 2.3.6
Build Number : GRK39F (NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.1 a NAND)
Kernel version 2.6.32.15_tytung_r12-ga11a1a8 [email protected] #112
Can you tell me something that can be of help? I don't need to be guided like a small child through the process, but at least some general guidance to get me going
Thank you much!

I'm trying to root my new tablet, I've tried IRoot(VRoot) and Towel Root. Neither of these work, I've tried to research both here and general google search for more information but to no avail.
I've read some rumors that the visual land tablets come pre-rooted but no SU is installed nor will any of them install properly, also root checks say it isn't already rooted.
If anyone can point me in the right direction for tools or a guide for a general manual root or create something specific for this device I'd very much appreciate it.

I bought mine a month ago. It came with lollipop. Any chance you can upload and img of yours ? I can't find a way to get to kitkat. lollipop has too many bugs for me. I think the older OS would work better. I can upload an img of mine if you want lollipop. Thanks
I just got this Sony Tablet P and I'm trying to get it set up but I can't update any apps even though I'm connected to the internet, it can load emails, download Crash Bandicoot, and webpages, etc. I keep getting errors. I figure, maybe using stock isn't the way to go, so I try to update, to no avail. Then I look it up on google and end up downloading 4 different zip/7z files to try it. I'm able to install the abd files, but I can't root the device. The computer is in Test mode. The program fails (but can't post a pic yet) but luckily the Tablet is left where it started and not bricked or in any worse condition.
I've seen online that there's a ICS updated for the tablet and I'd love to get that, as that's a version I spent a lot of time with and enjoy the experience. Being back to 3.2.1 leaves much to be desired and the inability to update apps ruins the experience. Is there anything I can do? I read on a difference thread that 3.2.1 build 10 can't be rooted and while I am 3.2.1 I don't think I am build 10.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I realize I'm using an old device and am not expecting the same experience I get from my Xperia Z2 Tablet.

Hi there,
I followed a guide off the net to upgrade to the latest version of Android on my Huawei EVA-L09. 'Upgrade' done, I'm now on Android 5.1 and EMUI 3.1... so I'm pretty sure I haven't upgraded at all. I cannot get the phone connected back to my PC (W10) probably some sort of driver issue (worked before the upgrade though!)
Any advise on what to do? I've just bought a Galaxy S8, so just want this on the latest version of Android to use it for a few days then sell it..
Many thanks
A quick note, I'm currently on model number A168-L09 and Build number: EMUI-A168-L09C432B040SP11. All I want is the latest version of Android and not a beta version, just want the phone being sold. The build numbers make absolute no sense to me, very difficult to understand!
Any help is appreciated.
