I lost 4g a few days ago but now have 3g. I flashed many different roms and still can't get 4g back. I downloaded an app to try to fix it (4g toggle). It made 4g reappear but can't do anything on it. I believe it's a rom that did that. I played around with the sense rom 5 roms that were available. It could be one of those that did it. Not sure. I flashed and unflashed many kernels but still nothing. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix? Also, it's not the sim card because 4g appears in the Galaxy Nexus as my backup. Thank you.

You may need to flash RUU. I have had this issue before while testing different roms. Once on the ruu, you should get 4G back.

I tried that but no luck. I'm going to see if I can get a new sim card just to see if by some mystery this works. I can't see how it works on a Nexus with 4g but not the device. That sounds like something weird.
This happened to me on my old phone and I called verizon and asked them to do a dmu reset and then it came back.
Try that and hopefully it may work otherwise get a new sim card.

Remember that HSDPA is not 4G but a very accelerated 3G data network. That may be why your Nexus show's HSDPA but your DNA will not register 4G. LTE is 700 while HSDPA is a more broader spectrum. Are you using a TMO Sim or a Verizon Sim?

I'm using a Verizon Sim. I will call them first and have them do a DMU reset for me. If that doesn't work then I'll get a new sim card. Thank for all your help folks. I'll let you all know which one worked.

Make sure you aren't setting you preferred network with the 4G toggle to LTE only. It would need to be LTE/CDMA or LTE+cdma+evdo

I was curious because I heard that the Droid Incredible 4G has a GSM radio in it so I did an experiment. I used a T-mobile micro SIM. I used the 4GLTE switch app for the Thunderbolt to access the hidden menu and I changed the radio mode to one that included GSM/W-CDMA. I popped in my T-mobile SIM and, presto, I got a T-mobile signal. I tested and I was able to make and receive calls and text messages. I had to manually set the APN for data to epc.tmobile.com and now I have EDGE data. I am sure an AT&T Sim will get HSPA+. The GSM appears unlocked now but hard to access. I am afraid, however, that once Verizon releases the update to make GSM roaming available, that it will be locked. Anyway, for now, you can pop in a GSM SIM and use your phone native.

if its like verizon other global settings (inc2) you can request the unlock code from them (they ll give you crap about using their intl plans first, but just yell until someone does it)

Works on AT&T with EDGE data as well. I haven't gotten HSPA (any variant) or AT&T LTE working, and I can't play with it too much because it's not my SIM
ATT LTE won't work because the frequencies are different from Verizon but I am surprised that HSPA didn't work. Did you use a setting that included W-CDMA? GSM only would likely mean Edge only.

Im afraid I cant get this to work. Does it require a rooted phone?
I have the app, I have a T Mobile micro sim installed. I click on the drop down menu (within the app) and choose the first menu item "Select radio band" and pick PCS (1900-MHz Band) and I get a "successful" prompt afterwards (only when the Tmo sim is installed btw).
I am unable to choose "GSM Only & GSM auto (PRL)" menu choices. Is this normal? I am able to choose GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto though. I dont get any sim error messages, but the phone never seems to want to camp on any GSM network.
You are looking in the wrong place. You need the drop down menu that includes GSM, W-CDMA, EVDO, LTE in various combinations. Select one with GSM in it. Also, I found that you need to have your Verizon SIM in first and then hot swap it with the t-mobile sim.
On the Rezound if you make a couple build.prop tweaks it fixes texting and data on GSM.

No, I was in the right place to begin with, I just thought it would be able to pick just gsm but it wont.
And you left out that piece of informationin bold, but still not working...
Can you give us your firmware & radio version, perhaps some phones have been updated to block this.

What if it has a bad ESN will this work or a way to make gsm work even with a bad ESN I'm asking because if Verizon does not have droid 3 s I will get this phone then go with at&t but will like to know if I can change the radio so I can so this

One additional thing I found was that I got it to work by hot swapping the Sims. It seems like the Verizon sim has to be in when the phone boots. Once it boots, use Phone Info to change the mode to GSM and then switch your sim.

I would think it should work. The ESN is used for the CDMA networks, the IMEI is used for GSM. Stick with GSM and you should be ok...
Dinc 4G now Global Ready
I was just chatting with a VZ rep online and was told that Verizon has already released a software update, thus making Dinc 4G officially global ready. Can anyone confirm/deny?
I asked her for a software version number which enables this, but she wasn't able to provide it.

Deny. No update has come out so far. You would be able to read about here if it had come out.

I bought a DNA off of Ebay that was rooted and has S-OFF.
In the settings in all of the ROMS, I've tried Global and LTE/CDMA with no luck.
It will not connect to Verizon 4G. It does connect to 3G. I have tried multiple ROMs, a new SIM card, and I've flashed multiple radios.
I have a stock DNA also, and if I put the SIM card in that phone, it locks onto 4G right away.
Before I reach out to the seller to do a return...does anyone have any suggestions on anything I'm missing?

This probably won't work but try dialing #22899 and hit call.
im not an expert, but maybe you need to check the settings in the custom rom? i've had issue of the radio switching to just 3g before, and had to manually change it back. idk. maybe flashing new radio or reflashing RUU? not sure, sorry

Not to be the pessimist, but maybe that's why the seller was selling the DNA.
download lte on off and see what it lists in there. I know on my rezound when I run neo aosp ROM and I select lte/CDMA . it will be listed under lte on off as its on gsm/CDMA. so try that app as it might be as simple as changing it to CDMA/lte.

I would suggest you to RUU it then do a factory reset from settings. Be sure you have stock recovery installed when factory resetting. I had a similar issue and it worked for me.

Where did you buy your phone? From HTC directly or at a T-Mo/T-Mo affiliate? When flashing a ROM, make sure it's compatible with the T-Mobile HTC One. I would try flashing one with confirmed support. If you have an M7 directly from HTC, you will NOT be able to receive HSPA+ 42mbs through the 1700 (AWS) band. However, you can still get HSPA+ 21mbs through the 1900 band if you are in a refarmed area.

My Phone is from T mobile. I live in a re-framed area but it seems the radio for the M7 from HTC was put on my phone or that's what I am guessing.

Your phone would be able to receive the signal as long as it supports the band. Perhaps you just have spotty coverage? Try flashing another RAM or stock to see if it switches on you.

I tried flashing a bunch of different roms and stock ones too. None of them worked to fix the problem. My reception isn't the problem as before I installed Android Revolution I had constant 4g everywhere I went with at least 4-5 bars. I also flashed the t mobile radio found on these forums too but that didn't work either.

I flashed other roms to see if it was just ARHD that was affected by the data problem. Anything I flashed after ARHD would have the same problems

did you get this solved? i am having a similar issue. when i first turn on my phone, i can get 4g/hspa. but it drops after a couple of mins. i dont even get edge. works everytime i reboot the phone or go from airplane mode on to off. i noticed the problem after rooting my tmobile htc one and flashing a ROM.
Is it better just to stick with approved ROM for Tmo? There are not many to go around.
I learn if it is 4g, 3g, wifi, etc it is kernel and just find a Tmo kernel.
Cook ROM and Kernel are different.
I am still learning.

when i choose UMTS, i can't get 3G/UMTS signal so i unable call and data internet...
when i change mode to 2G /EDGE i get the signal, and able to call and data internet working normally...

i have try all profider on here, but no one work on 3G, just EDGE
i did factory reset but no help..
for while i used motorola razr maxx, all provider working well on 3G
i dont know this is hardware trouble or what..how i know this software or hardware trouble...?
i also used 3 provider on daily, get 3G on my motorola, but Edge on DNA..

Sounds like your carrier doesn't use a normal band for 3g. It may simply not be compatible.
If that is the case then you will never get it to work.

My friends that using Droid DNA can get 3G/HSDPA GSM which is standard like other country.
I have a Verizon Galaxy S4 rooted and running the Darthstalker S4 Rom. I recently got an ATT sim card to put into my device because they were second best with the signal where I live. Which is the US. What I want to know, Is there a way to get 4G or 4G LTE on my device with ATT? I know 4G is here because my cousin is with them and has 4G LTE. Ive tried a few APN settings to no avail. Also every once in awhile I completely lose service because it starts searching for a service to run on again. All I get is H or H+ and half of the time, I dont even get that. That data never really works on that. Especially H. Also, I never get 3G either. Sorry if this is long, Im just at an end where I cannot find an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try flashing the latest Modem, it seems to to support the ATT LTE Bands. I have used an AIO sim in both a VZW GS4 and LG G2 and both get LTE. It doesn't seem to switch very quickly either. Also make sure you are have LTE/GSM selected for the radio.

Kinda dependent on the ROM but you might want to use the APP called Advanced Signal Status (Play Store).
From memory you can't since this model dosent support the other carrier's LTE/4g band. May be wrong but pretty sure that info is correct
