PRL Questions - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

So I have updated my prl to the modified 0001 Verizon prl. But there is rumors of a few LTE sites popping up around OKC and would like to update my PRL back to sprints latest but I get an error when I try to do it from the phone. I'm currently running meanbean latest.
Any tips or do I have to redo that prl program.

I do tech support/customer service for Sprint. PRL stands for preferred roaming list. It will seldom help coverage. Here's an example of what it does. Let's say you have a Verizon tower at the end of your street. If for some reason, this particular area, at the end of your street is so high in traffic that Sprint wants to pay Verizon to add their signal to that tower, then that will result in a situation where instead of roaming, you have Sprint signal. A PRL update is intended to save Sprint money.
Regarding the LTE rollout; I hear about it every day. The LTE rollout isn't going to be done simply by buying into Verizon's towers. So, with that, a PRL update is going to help you get LTE.

Cororate PRL for EVO 3D

Believe it or not the 11115 is not the business PRL for the EVO 3D. This is for the 1900 mhz devices only. EVO 3D and a few other devices have special PRL's with the codes 20XXX. Recently it was 20183 or something like that. There is a reason why the EVO 3D has a different PRL than all the older Sprint devices, and it's because it has been updated to include 800 and 1900 mhz towers.
The business PRL is slightly different, it is 21XXX. EVO 3D's do not get the 11115, instead they get the 21XXX for corporate. Does anyone have this PRL and be willing to share it? I want to do some testing on the Epic 4G Touch.
Thanks!

Actually go to your local sprint dealer and ask to see their evo 3d device and check the PRL on it. The PRLs on the demo devices are the corporate ones.

Excellent find. Unfortunately it's the 21081 and not 21083, but it'll do for now. If you do find a way to get the 21083 from your phone let me know! Thanks
Well now that I'm looking into it more it seems like 21083 is the default for EVO 3D. I guess I need to go check what is the corporate PRL on the EVO 3D is again. I know for a fact it isn't 11115 though.
11115 might not be the official one for the 3d but it works just the same as it did on the EVO 4g. It gets me 3g roaming when I force roam when needed. I have a corporate acct and got 11115 on the EVO but I never got anything other than the 2 prls you listed.

Right but for non network vision devices.
Evo 3d has its own 11115 PRL
The 20xxx or 21xxx is the corporate PRL I'm pretty sure.
Of course the 11115 will work with the evo 3d

21083 IS NOT a corporate prl. it is latest prl regular users get when doing a prl update. you want proof of this, find a friend with a 3d and have him update the prl for you. it was either stay 21083 or change to it depending on the area but most everyone will.

Would prl 11115 work on our phone? Both the HTC evo and Samsung e4gt use prl 11115 as their business/corporate code. Those being 2 completely different brands of phone make the photon any different? Photon prls would be slightly different because we got to have one that supports cdma and gsm towers, it being a world phone. But if we negated the GSM portion by forcing the 11115 code which is strictly cdma would that have any long term effects for wanting to switch back to the prl code to support GSM roaming towers as well. All these codes are a way for our phones to communicate with specific cell towers. In theory wouldn't 11115 work? I don't need to roam on GSM anyone in America wouldn't because it's still locked here.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA
Like dial *#*#4636*#*# change to "cdma only" not "cdma auto prl" then reboot and change the prl to 11115.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA
Oh and use roam control from the market to force roam
Sent from my MB855 using XDA
I have and am running 01115 for my prl and have seen no downside, just amazing 3g roam speeds. And yeah this is also a prl from evo. I flashed it with QPST and it will stick throughout rom flashes, if I want to go back I flash to stock ROM and update prl and am back to latest ota prl

What's the difference in 01115 and 11115? And besides 3G speeds. How is the signal. Do these codes improve signal quality?

In *theory* the only difference in the PRLs would be what towers it will see and connect to considering its just a list of which towers the phone connects to, both Sprint and Verizon. And I can't say for sure which is newer.. i *THINK* 11115 is, but can't say for sure. Ive got 01115 and its great for me and 3g roaming
I dont need roam control. CM9 has forced roaming built in. Could someone tell me the benefits of corporate vs consumer?
Sent from my MB855 using XDA
PRL's are a list of "partnered" towers your phone can connect to within the network. The "authorized" towers list changes from time to time thus the PRL updates. Business PRL's (11115 and the like) are a subset of PRL's that regulate certain connectivity features (like data roaming) and voice service (generally better coverage).
Granted roaming is covered by Sprint service but there is some "fine print" attached to that. For example, you flash the lastest, greatest connects to the universe hacked PRL. You have voice and data everywhere you go and are so very happy til you get a notice that your roaming more than 50% of the time. It is suggested that you consider maybe switching carriers or an excessive roaming fee will be charged. But wait, your super PRL allows for voice/data everywhere, how can this be? It's the super PRL you flashed, it doesn't match the real PRL list held by the servers. So even though you could connect to every tower in the 'verse, you were technically roaming more than 50% of the time.
A real world example. Had a customer come in very upset that they were warned about excessive roaming (60% of all use was outside Sprint's network). This was verified by checking what towers the phone was connected to vs the tower database. Upon further query it turned out the customer had flashed an unofficial PRL. This resulted in the phone connecting ANY tower solely based on signal strength. The closest/strongest tower to the customers home was a local carrier that had no partnership with Sprint so the entire time they were home they were roaming. The same applies to flashing a current valid "Business PRL" to a phone that is not authorized for that type of PRL.
In short, feel free to flash whatever PRL you want but be aware that there may be unwanted results.
If interested, I will release a custom ROM just for updates like these. It will have everything stripped out that is not needed to run updates so it will be very small and fast to flash.
I work at Radio Shack so i am very familiar with the fine print. For some reason i am the one stuck dealing with those customers. I have the "not roam control" app installed so i can see what tower i am on at any given time. If i flash a corporate prl does that mean my phone will force itself onto whatever tower is closest whether its sprint, verizon, cspire, etc?

Haha don't use sprint zone, its archaic and isn't properly updated, use the about phone tab to check software and carrier versions. But to answers your question, a PRL (Preferred Roaming List) update is carrier wide. When towers are updated or tweaked they roll out a PRL update, normally they do a couple towers and then roll out a update, or else there would be a new PRL update every day! Most PRL updates come from upgrades, like the transition from CDMA to CDMA LTE towers. Even though you prolly won't see much effect from the update in your area, if you ever traveled to a 4g area without the update your phone wouldn't work efficiently, so everyone gets the update. PRL updates also come from tower performance tweaks aswell.

Thanks for the heads up about Sprint Zone and the info about PRL updates. I assumed it had something to do with the network but wasn't exactly sure. I've gotten messages from Sprint recently talking about "A new Network is coming" so that would make sense and I know they've also done some tower upgrades in my area recently.
On another note, is anyone else having issues with doing a PRL update? It has still yet to work and continues to just hang on "Contacting Network" message. When it hangs on that message it totally renders my device useless and I have to power down (or pull the battery).

The messages about the new network are pertaining to Network Vision, sprint is merging all their technologies 3G/4GLTE/WiMax(where available) together into a more efficient spectrum and coverage overlap! Its actually quite an impressive system! At least the PowerPoint was lol, hoping that they deliver what they promise!

No, I'm pretty sure you have to flash stock to update, then flash back to whatever custom ROM you're using.
Easiest way is to have a nandroid of stock, take a nandroid of what you're using, flash the stock, update via "about phone," then restore your custom nandroid.

No lte is "hardware" (really a layer 1 & 2 radio & data link protocal) it would be like a gsm phone trying to do cdma with a software update...not going to happen if the cdma hardwares not there

Its not like a software update. Its not going to hurt your phone or prevent you from root/s-off. Sometimes a PRL upgrade can be a good thing.

Those of you on the 24004 prl, are your phones corporate or personal lines?
Also can anyone post the 24004 prl please? I can only find 25004
Thanks!
Mine says 25004. Haven't had any updates.

25004 is a latest one but so is 24004.
I thought I saw one person in another thread say 24004 is corporate ver of the 25005 but need more people to confirm that based on they account and what they have.
Corporate ones give better data speed on roaming is why I am wondering.
25004 here on a personal line as well.
I'm almost positive I've been on 25004 for awhile. I don't remember seeing or doing a prl update.

For what it's worth, I am also on 25004 and I do not remember the phone updating on its own. I had been thinking my speeds seemed a lot better lately. I ran speed test and sure enough, it's somewhat better

Still 25004 here, even after a manual update attempt.

I have a corporate account and 24004 is the most current prl for corporate.

I've got 25004. Got almost double 3g speeds than shipped. Though it may be different for each user.

MIne changed the other night to the 25004 and now i hardly get a data connection to top off my already horrendous 1 bar/roaming all the time crap signal at home
Mine tanked pretty hard on 25004, down to like 14kbps from 700-800 downloads, my upload hasn't really changed.
I've been having issues all day with sms and mms, also been dropping to 1x and so I looked and my PRL is 25002..
Did a prl update and I'm back to 25004.. really weird. Only thing ive done is last night I ran the mod to remove the HTC disclaimer on boot up screen.
