[2in1GUIDE][JB] Unlock Bootloader and FASTER Root L9 Method - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

WARNING
USE INFORMATION AT YOU OWN RISK
There is no known perfect method to RELOCK the bootloader. So beware you will loose warranty of device. This warning is also shown while unlocking by LG.
This guide may have errors and may not work for some in various scenario. If you report them, I may try to correct them.
Read properly and DON'T SEND PM, I will simply ignore PM and laugh on you.
Just sharing information. See now how easy it is to flash+CWM+Root V20* on Unlocked Bootloader (UL BL)***
Thanks and Huge rounds of applause for Aremcee (aka RC or Ricardo Cerqueira).
This is completely based on Aremcee's Unlock and CWMRoot method as explained here. Please read is carefully before starting.
=============================================
Things to remember while proceeding.
Not for Newbies. (need some experience in flashing and installing fastboot drivers)
.
IMPORTANT: You must have P760/P765 with P760 V20B EUROPE OPEN rom flashed on it....or OTHER UNLOCKABLE ROMS. @Gh0sT.RPG tried unlocking on P765 V20B, V20C & V20D all unsuccessful. But He unlocked on P65 V20A Indian in just 20min.
.
You must have P768 with P768 JB (e.g.Mexico) Not tested but should work as per JB feature added in other variants. If this method does not work for P768 then try this method.
Phone might be already Bootloader Unlocked or you may Unlock it while in following process.
P769x owners please visit this thread for unlocking bootloader.
Unlock Bootloader and Easy Rooting of L9 P760/765/P768
0) Preparations:-
Install latest LG Driver.
Download fastbootdrivers.zip (old) OR New Fastbood Drivers and find installation instructions in this thread OR this new thread (Tip for Win98)
Download Android.zip and extracted anywhere on computer, preferably C drive. The folder "C:\Android" will be created with all necessary files.
Download recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-p760.img and save in "C:\Android" folder
Download UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.25.zip and save on external sdcard.
See post number 10 below for some information on fastboot drivers.
1) Connect phone to pc and change USB Mode to "LG Software Mode". Now wait for 30 minutes if you want to unlock bootloader (IMPORTANT Read post) and then open command prompt and give following commands in "lower case" because adb command is case sensitive.
C:\>cd \android
C:\Android>adb devices
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
This should show the list of attached devices in ADB mode like shown below
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now pass this command and phone will restart in fastboot mode like this... in "lower case" because fastboot command is case sensitive.
C:Android\>adb reboot oem-unlock
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Phone will start in fastboot mode. You may be asked to install fastboot drivers at this point. See driver download from this this NEW download thread and install with instructions from this OLD install method or this New install Method.
2 A) AT THIS POINT, YOU CAN UNLOCK BOOTLOADER IF STILL LOCKED: You get option to press VOLUME UP key to unlock the bootloader permanently. If already unlocked, skip to next step.
2 B) When your phone comes in fastboot mode, then PC will install fastboot drivers, if not installed before. If automatic installation fails, you can manually install fastboot drivers as instructed in this post or this post. Strangely my device manager shows only one entry like this screenshot. (click for screenshot). If fastboot drivers are not installed this rooting will not work.
3) Now staying in Fastboot mode, install Recovery Software (CWM Touch) like shown below. All in "lower case", because fastboot command is case sensitive and will fail if you type carelessly.
C:\Android>fastboot devices
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
This will show if phone is connected to your pc in fastboot mode or not by showing device entry result like "1234567 fastboot". Then give next command.
C:\Android>fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-p760.img
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
This will install Recovery Software (CWM) in your phone. When finished you can disconnect phone from pc (remove usb cable).
To switch off phone, PRESS POWER FOR 15 SECONDS or REMOVE BATTERY and INSERT AGAIN.
4) Reboot phone in Recovery (CWM) Mode (with Vol+ and Home and Power button, all together for 5 secs) and flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.25.zip which was already copied before on sdcard. Reboot normally and enjoy.
Your are done.
For me everything went smooth in single attempt like a charm.
PS: The Rom I flashed before did perfectly worked well with all features and options Super Smooth as usual.

EDIT: JUST FLASHED P765 V20D HongKong ON P765 INDIA WITH NO ISSUE. (14-Apr-13) See this related thread for more information

Not much. Everything seem same as V20B. Could be some minor unknown changes/bugfixes in the deep inside rom, which we may not want to know. But ROM is solid good and function well.
Actually at the moment, there is no solid reason with me for, why one should update to V20C? I am still exploring and trying to know whats difference lol

I wanted to but I have pathetic upload speed right now and it will take around 8/9 hours to upload 550+ mb CWM Backup. Practical not possible for me
Please wait for someone with FASTER upload speed.

thanks ..but i flashed it succesfully ..another thing i cant see my pics or videos in the player ..what happened and i even did a factory reset ..

Couldn`t it improve battery life? For me on stock v20b with root is impossible stand more than 17 hours. Another thing whats bother me is wake up time from sleeping. When i press home or wake up button, it takes about 2 or 3 seconds to switch on display!!! And i didn´t change any frequencies or governor. I didn´t notice that problem on v10h ICS...

Now its almost two days and approximately I got 1 and half day in single charge with moderate use. For me V20C is really better than V20B. Of course i use music and video very very less and mostly its for call and emails on 3G data.
Camera clarity is same (poor) as V20B but flash brightness is better than it.

So far, I have found out, that there is different layout when you are answering call and maybe background in SMS app... In question of battery life, its too early to say.

Asus? From where did you get that? Strange.
I am not sure right now, but these drivers problems are not occurring to me after I have installed Android SDK Tools (long time back) and installed original Google USB driver from Google Android Developers. See what items are installed in following image. And I think the platform tools and Google USB Drivers include FASTBOOT drivers too. Worked always for me.

There is no hindi OS support even in Indian version of ROMs. You cannot select interface language in hindi.
But you can read hindi/gujrathi/etc in apps like facebook in European roms too. All fonts are built in roms folder.

Then yes, have read hindi in european roms also. I only have seen hindi text in SMS several times but the text appears bit erroneous. But in Facebook the text appears perfect like we see in pc. I dont know may be Facebook installs its own Hindi TTF font.

Yes, only two files attached here are enough. Remember this procedure is only for unlocked bootloader, which does not need lelus method to be performed.
PS: You will need flashing tool for flashing rom and fastboot files, available in other threads. You can get fastboot files in Android SDK Tool package.

Hi there, im having trouble getting into fastboot mode on my phone? I have already unlocked my bootloader, I have a P768 on ICS V10E and I unlocked the bootloader using P760 V20C. How do I switch to fastboot?

[Tutorial] Flashing KDZ on LG L5 II (E455/E460) and other LG phones

This tutorial is for the LG L5 II (E455/E460) and shall work on other LG phones too.
Many thanks to @iulykenoby who discovered this method.
To start, download a KDZ firmware for your LG E460 (and other phones) from here: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php
Be sure to match the phone with the right kdz!!!
1. Download LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix.ZIP (attached)
2. Download USB Driver http://algmcdn.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=UW00120120425
If you can't boot anymore, enter into download/emergency mode and skip to step 5.
3. Put your phone in debugging mode (menu-Settings-Developer options-USB debugging).
4. Change your usb connection type to LG Software (menu-Settings-USB connection type)
5. Connect your phone to the PC and install USB Driver. After the installation disconnect and connect your phone again (to make sure it is detected).
6. Extract LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix.ZIP
7. Run B2CAppSetup.exe and let it install and update itself. You may be prompted to update your drivers.
8. If you've done everything correctly, you should see this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
9. Close the official LG Mobile Support Tool.
10. Open Notepad in Administrator mode. (Go to windows menu, type notepad and right-click and run in Administrator mode)
11. Open the hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc)
12. Add 127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com at the end of the host file.
13. Save the file. If the "Save as" dialog opens, it means you're not running notepad in administrator mode and you can't modify the hosts file.
14. Go to windows menu, type cmd and right-click and run in Administrator mode.
15. Drag Automatic Offline Procedure.vbs over command prompt and hit enter.
16. Click OK
17. Click on windows enable icon in system tray to turn ON then click the dialog box OK.
18. Click Ok.
19. Make sure Type is set to 3GQCT and phone mode to DIAG. Select your KDZ file and click Normal web upgrade test.
20. Click on Upgrade Start.
21. Click on Clear phone Software update Registry and then click OK.
22. Software Update Procedure will start immediately. It will take some time to finish.
After the flashing procedure, don't forget to delete that line you added in hosts or else you won't be able to officialy update (online) your phone and you won't be able to download anything from lg. Also, a factory reset may be needed after flashing to avoid conflicts with the old app data.
Ohhhhhh thx mircea, work for me. The problem was on step 19, now it's all ok.

Try booting again in upload mode. If I remember right it's: phone off and both volume keys pressed then introduce the usb cable. if you manage to boot in download mode, you can try to flash again. you surely didn't select the right kdz for your phone. be sure of your phone model and search for the right kdz for your phone. If you can boot in download mode nothing is lost, you can fix it.
Work

For root, the attached file should work (change it's extension from .zip to .exe). Instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337802
it will root with a chineese tool, but there you'll also find instructions to change it to supersu/superuser.

you can flash any firmware from any country as long as it is for your phone model. i recommend you flash a firmware that's not branded (for ex branded by orange) so you won't have extra software that will slow down your phone. on that website you will find firmwares for many phones. our phone (e460) received an update, that's why they are called "a" "b" "c".

I suggest that you run that VROOT program in a sandbox as it is full of Malware or wait till someone posts an open source root exploitation method.

Mircea,
I dont use or trust online scanners I prefer to use IDA and other tools to examine software. If you examine the software more closely you will find that it sends your PC information back to the author. It will also do an update check and install of the latest version automatically. It will also install an apk for a chinese file sharing site and multiple other files that he leaves in the phones system. I also rooted a test phone and it did root perfectly. I was not trying to scare people just give a little warning to be cautious when you install a program that has a primary interface language is not yours. I had no ill intentions just trying to make people aware of what I had found.

Yes, it installs a chineese apk because that's the root application (just like superuser). After installing supersu and deleting the chineese apk I scanned my phone with bitdefender and avg and found no malware.
You also can disable your internet before installing vroot on your computer, root your phone then uninstall it. Then you can scan your computer with any antivrus and antispyware software you want and you won't find a trace of Vroot. Before saying it's full of malware, you should prove it. I just proved with 43 antiviruses that it has no malware and all you're saying is you don't trust them. I also offered a solution to avoid sending information about your computer, IF that was the case. Also, using a sandbox just like you said is also ok.

How to Fix LG Security ERROR Issue.

I have made this tutorial due to me not finding any other tutorials on fixing the problem presented in this guide. Dear admins if there is another guide on how to fix this problem please feel free to do what you must to this thread. Thank You
First of all is if you have the security error problem on your phone I can assure you that it is NOT bricked and can be fixed.
Also I am not and will not be accountable if this guide does not fix your phone. I also will not and should not be held accountable if this guide is to further damage anything of your phone.
PROCEED WITH CAUTION; Please Pre-Read this guide and understand it before proceeding.
Okay so I will guide you through on how to fix the security error problem most people have on their LG devices. I had encountered this problem on my friends LG MS769 (Optimus L9 – MetroPCS). This guide should work for mostly any LG phone.
This happened to me when I was flashing a custom recovery for the phone. I had successfully rooted the phone using a guide located at:
androidforums.com/optimus-l9-all-things-root/759935-how-root-metropcs-l9-lgms769.html
By following the above guide you will be able to successfully root and install SuperSU on you LG MS769. But keep in mind that even though it will root the phone is will NOT, I don’t know how to emphasis this as much, it will NOT: Unlock the BootLoader, Flash a custom recovery, or let you install a Custom Rom.
But let us come back the topic at hand. Okay so to fix this problem we will need the following.
LG Mobile Support Tool -- B2CAppSetup.exe -- Attached
A reliable Internet Connection
A computer with Windows XP/Vista/7/8 – (Untested on Windows 8)
TIME and PATIENCE --- We will be downloading a file about 500MB give or take some.
Okay let us begin in our endeavors of fixing our problems.
First use the below download link to download the LG Mobile Support Tool
After downloading that place it on your desktop and run it as administrator
After you run B2CAppSetup.exe it should automatically open the Mobile Support Tool, if not there should be a new .exe created on the desktop called LGMobile Support Tool just double click and open that.
Let the program update and install any necessary files that it requires. (It should automatically start to update and install, it should just prompt you with a UAC window)
Once you see the program open, click on the Install USB Driver button on the top left-hand side
Then a new window will come up asking for you for the phones carrier and the phones model number.
Once you are successfully done installing the drivers, we can proceed to the restoration process of the phone
Okay now we need to put the phone in S/W Upgrade Mode.
a.Remove phone battery, if it does not have a removable battery make sure phone is off
b.While holding down the VOLUME (DOWN or UP or BOTH) BUTTON(S) insert the microUsb in the phone while also having the USB side connected to the computer already. (To enter S/W mode it varies phone to phone which volume buttons must be pressed, try all three options)
Once the phone is in S/W Upgrade Mode the computer will start to install the drivers and the LG Mobile Support Tool will automatically detect it and start the restore process
a.Keep in mind that this process takes its time and should more than likely complete successfully giving you a working phone
b.NOTE: I have read some people calming that the process gets stuck at 4% and does not go on. If it does happen to get stuck at any percentage let it stay there for a while and see if it does go on, if not I would recommend retrying once on the same computer and if it still does not work I would give a second recommendation to try on another computer. Other than that I would suggest you contact you phone carrier or LG.
If all goes well you should have a fully functioning factory restored LG phone. Congratulations!!!!
Hope this guide was of help and I wish you best of luck in your further endeavors. :good:

Security Error corrected!
Thanks for this info! I was able to update the SW from the LG Support Tool program but I had to switch to another computer to do it, and after several tries it finally took.
For this LG-P769 I had to hold the volume up button with the battery out and it went into the SW update mode on the phones screen. The update stopped after 33% update and I had to disconnect and install the battery, start the phone and let the Security Error extinguish, then plugged the USB cord back in and click the retry button of the tool, then it updates. Yes!
Note, wait until the phone reboots to the normal operating screen even though the tool says its done. This tool approx. 2 more minutes.
The phone is no longer rooted but it kept all the original apps except "Superus".
Not working for me, any help?
I have an LG-LS970, and I've made it to the point where the recovery software was downloaded and extracted, but something is causing an error and not letting the process finish. I assume this is the faulty ROM on the phone, since my phone is bricked from rooting and deleting Google Play apps (I was stupid and thought they weren't important to have). Any ideas?
If you had the recovery software installed you could of installed the gaps. Zip files through it.

Please help i've been at this for 2 days
I moved a boot.img file to my Metropcs LG optimus L9 lgms769 and now I am stuck at the security error. I rooted the phone but did not have the bootloader unlocked. I have tried the update tool and it stops at 4%, when I can get it to work. I haven't either understood the other methods mention or something, idk. Anyway, I would really like to get my phone working. Can someone please give me a good way to do this. I have the V10E_00.kdz file already. Thankyou
I already have the latest version but need to repair
Thanks for the instructions! I followed the steps and everything basically works but once the phone is in software upgrade mode, the LG tool just says "Your device has the latest software available from the LG Mobile Support Tool" and it doesn't install anything.
What happened is I rooted my phone and removed one too many system apps, now it won't boot up anymore. How can I get this tool to reinstall the same software I already have? Do I need to wipe it completely? Please help me out, I'm afraid I'll make it worse if I try anything else.

Thank you so much! I totally overlooked the recovery option in the tool. 30 minutes later and I have my phone back working perfectly. So happy! :good:
I took it to the T-Mobile store this morning and all they wanted to do was sell me a new one, saying the phone was dead. I owe you. Can I buy you a beer? Seriously, if you have PayPal I'll do it.

:good:[/QUOTE

Is it working? My phone is in S/W Upgrade mode, but I don't see any upload bar anywhere
Background:
I originally had CWM and custom rom install on my phone. I decided to install a new rom, but the installation failled and Aroma installer kicked me out of recovery. I have no way re-entering recovery, so I used Smart Flasher and the correct ROM to flash the phone back. And now I'm stuck at Security Error.

[TUTORIAL] How to flash LG phones with LG Flash Tool 2014

Hello to you all I am making this flashing tutorial since I have seen enough people asking how to flash using this tool.
This tutorial will be 100% detalied and noob friendly, with pictures. So fasten your seatbelt and let's go.
1. Disclaimer:
Code:
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war,
or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any
concerns about all contained in this tutorial before you follow it! YOU are choosing to
make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device,
I will laugh at you. But since i'm a nice dude i will try to guide you anyway:)
2. General info:
This can be used to flash a new firmware that you will download from LG firmware website. You can upgrade/downgrade your current version.
This can be used for every situation that can get you in a working Emergency mode/Download mode.
This will work/not work (I didn't test) on versions grater than Windows 7 both 32 and 64 bit. I am not going to give support to Windows 8/Windows 8.1. If it works for you it's nice. If not I will ignore the posts like "What can I do not working on Windows 8" and so on. Same thing goes for WINE (windows loader for LINUX). Use this with Windows XP or 7.
3. What we need and getting ready:
a. Firstly, we need the Drivers for our Phone. The drivers I am attaching must be universal for LG but if they do not work for you then you need to search the drivers the manufacture made for your device.
Universal Driver for LG (TRY THIS FIRST BEFORE YOU GO AND DOWNLOAD FROM LG WEBSITE): LG Drivers.
Install the driver (the one I provided first). If your phone is not detected then search on LG website.
*If the ones I provided don't work you can fine the ones for your phone here: http://www.lg.com/. Search in the right up corner the model of your device. Select it. At download section (in the right of the mini-phone picture) you will see Software Updates & drivers. Select that and download the USB Drivers for Windows.
b. Secondly, we need the KDZ image that you want to flash. I am not going to provide any; you will download the one that you want FOR YOUR DEVICE (do not use any KDZ not intended for your device) from here: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/.
Press on the phone you have and download the image you want.
c. In the third place you want to download the tool: LG Flash Tool 2014.
*You need Winrar or 7Zip or any unraring program. Unrar it.
4. The actual flashing:
A)YOUR PHONE SHOULD BE IN EMERGENCY/DOWNLOAD MODE. The keys to do this are different from device to device so search the forums for your key combination. I will provide the way to get in Emergency for the L7 II and maybe L5 II and L3 II. Think this is the same for the first gen devices but can't confirm.
*With the phone turned off (I suggest to pull out battery for 5 seconds then put it back to be sure) hold Volume Down button and plug the USB cable that you have in your PC. If this doesn't work try holding Volume Down + Volume Up and plug the USB. If this doesn't work search the forums. You might also have a hard bricked device and this method won't work then.
B)Place the KDZ file you downloaded the 3.b. in the same folder that you unrared at 3.c. and Run as Administrator. (BE SURE TO HAVE THE KDZ FILE IN THE SAME FOLDER AS THE TOOL. The file i took for example is "Stock JB ROM.kdz").
*If you can't open this program then you need to instal this: C++ Libraries.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
C)This will appear. Leave all the way it is and press the little folder in the right.
D)Select the KDZ you placed at point 4.B. and press Open (DO NOT SELECT RA or RC KDZ).
E)After you pressed Open you are back to the main screen you saw at point 4.C. Good.
Press Normal Flash (the left option) if you want to flash new KDZ preserving data (no data will be deleted). I do not suggest this because you might get a bootloop and you need to hard-reset (will wipe data). Always have all data backed-up.
Press CSE Flash (recommended) if you want to flash new KDZ with full wipe of data.
After selecting what you want you will get this screen.
Press START.
D)After you pressed START you will get this. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING, press OK.
E)Another dialog will pop and will flash your phone. First it will check USB connection but you already have USB connected when you got in Emergency so you should be fine. I assume you checked drivers at the Driver step so I assume there will be no problems.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT EVER DISCONNECT THE DEVICE EVEN IF YOU THINK IT'S STUCK, THE WINDOW GOT BLOCKED, IT DOESN'T SHOW ANYTHING OR ANYTHING ELSE. YOU CAN DESTROY YOUR DEVICE DO NOT UNPLUG AFTER YOU PRESSED OK AT STEP 4.D. WHEN THE DEVICE REBOOTS LEAVE THE USB IN FOR 2 MORE MINUTES THEN YOU CAN UNPLUG.
F)In some cases you might get a bootloop after 4.E. is completed. All you have to do is hard reset your device. Search the forum for specific hard-reset procedure. In P710 it's like this: with powered off device hold Volume Down + Home button and press Power. When you see LG logo stop holding Power. Keep other 2 buttons until you see android guy.
That's all folks and now the credits:
@quangnhut123 - He made this tool for us
me - Well I wrote this haha.
If you like it please consider donating. Thanks ^.^. Also do not forget to at least press THANKS button.

Trying to fix my LG Optimus L5 II
Hi guys, i'm having troubles with this method, tried both on win8.1 and 7 and i can't find a solution, maybe my phone is gone forever.
My problem is bootloop, and the phone isn't unrooted or modded in any way.
I'll explain what i tried:
-Hard reset (volume down+quickbutton+powerbutton) -> it only keeps vibrating an never showing the LG logo, when i release the buttons it just starts as normal (obviously bootloops).
-Update recovery with LGMobile Support Tool -> phone connects, firmware finish download, and then when it starts updating it just stops and says update failed for some reason.
-Flashing with LG Flash Tool 2014 -> It crashes after the extraction, maybe when it starts to flash.
thank you so much!!!
okay so, i made an account just so i could thank you for this tutorial and the software.
My LG L5 II (e460) was stuck in a bootloop and a hard reset did nothing for me. When i tried another flashing tut i got an error when the files were extracting in the lg mobile support tool. With yours i got the same error when i tried a flash with a full wipe of data to avoid the now dreaded bootloop. However when i tried a flash without loss of data it did actually do its job well. I work on a 64 bit with windows 8.1 computer btw. Once completed it did not give me a bootloop so it actually turned on, and thats a first in a long time. After that i did do a hard reset and now its as new.
So thank you thank you thank you! Thanks to this tut i am now able to gift my dad my once broken phone as if it just came out of the packaging!

You are welcome my friend. Usually this tool has problems on windows 8.1 (the errors you are talking about). With a Windows 7 machine works from first try. I am satisfied that I made your day. Peace out
Firstly - nice tutorial,really! Secondly - Why "LG firmware Updater Tool 2014" not "KDZ Firmware Updater" ? They are almost the same. And thirdly - from my expirience with KDZ reflashing on P713(was stuck with bootlogo), and also from 4pda comments, it's better to turn Emergency mode on phone(Vol.Down and then insert USB)(e.g. "Bootloader" mode isn't so easy to turn on as "Emergency"), - and Choose "Emergency" or "CS_Emergency" not "Diag" one) on step 4C. Also,if You're goin' to flash NON-cdma phone(as I know usually L7-ll isn't cdma),on step 4C it's better to choose "3gqct" not "cdma". And the last one - it should work on win8,but shouldn't work correctly via Windows 10 or Wine.
Have a nice day))

It is not cdma but doesn't have any impact. I can flash from emergency with Diag Mode also since the LG Modem is picked up in device manager in Emergency, so it should work.. Also I said that phone should be in emergency

Hello mate. Thank you for the tutorial. It's now very easy using LG Flashtool 2014.
All of the instructions worked for my L7 II P714. Now I have a clean stock JellyBean rom without the silly customizations from the Operator.
This L7 II has a very nice camera!
I got the clean JB KDZ from here:

JellyBean V10E_00

It's from Panama.
Cheers.

Thanks!
This project is now discontinued. Peace out.

The tool works 100% on Windows 10 (Pro, 64-bit, Creators Update). You don't need any special drivers, they are built into Windows 10.

Lenovo Tab a10-30 bricked or fixable?

Hello everyone,
I will share my experience with you, and I hope for a solution!
A few days ago I rooted my Lenovo tab 2 A10-30 successfully using Kingroot. Then, I tried to change Kinguser with SuperSU, which I also successfully did. However, I noticed that although the main root app was SuperSU, Kingroot was still on my phone, so I deleted it using a bloatware removal app and restarted the tablet. Now it won't turn on. It gets stuck at the Lenovo loading screen, and that's about it. When I press the power button + volume down button, it gets me to a Chinese menu that is not the recovery mode (there is no MMC, just options about voloume, colors, mic test etc). If I press the volume up+ volume down + power button, it just brightens the screen and shows nothing.
I tried flashing the stock ROM using the Smart Phone Flash Tool, but the PC does not recognize fully the tablet (it just prompts me to install the Lenovo USB drivers, and I cannot access the tablet's internal storage). Moreover, the Lenovo windows applications do not recognize the tablet when I connect it to the PC.
I really do hope that there is a way I can fix it.. Thank you all in advance.
Hi,
I did almost exactly the same... Kingroot, tried to remove bloatware with another app, and ended up with a bricked tablet I can still access the bootloader, but flashing the tablet from there is to no avail.
I am still looking for the original ROM, which seems nowhere to be found. Did you, by any chance, make a backup first?
Another one here But I'am able to go into recovery and into adb sideload, from there I can view internal memory(/system). And it looks like system is trying to load supersu-daemon which was removed and it can't get past that. I tried to recover paths (to original ones), but it still wont go past loading screen. (it is just restarting the app_process32).
Now if we only could get the hold on original factory firmware... from there one we can sideload it via fastboot.
And for the drivers you need andorid usb drivers https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb.html#top
TLDR; we are looking for TB2-X30F_USR_S000015_1601151950_Q8009_ROW_qpst.zip
So, I have spent about 5 hours attempting to find a way to dump the firmware without first rooting the device, so that I could share it with you guys (and have a backup for myself in case I attempt to root it myself.) Unfortunately it seems like it needs to be rooted before I can create a nandroid backup through adb. Unfortunately the tablet is not based on mtk, and I cannot find any qualcomm utils that can dump the firmware.
The one Qualcomm util I found (QFIL) seems like it is only for flashing, and for backing up some individual data for the tablet (I assume it may contain such as license keys for the commercial features in the recent phones such as Sony Xperia Z3). I also looked into fastboot, and that too can only flash a new firmware.
So, unless the tablet gets rooted I don't see any way to make a proper backup.
I am unable to post links in messages, so you need to do some manual editing.

This however seems like very valuable information, unfortunately the only places I can find that has this available for download is charging money for access to the file.

It might also be available www DOT fars-gsm DOT com/75531-tb2-x30f_usr_s000015_1601151950_q8009_row_qpst-zip.html, at least they list the changelog for the firmware.
Since I have no use for a firmware right now, I will not be buying access to one (unless I at some point manage to brick mine as well). But if anyone decides to do so, please share it so others can enjoy it as well. I also suspect that if the file was available, it would increase the probability of someone attempting to make a custom rom at some point as well, it is a very cheap tablet when on sale, so it should have good potential for a community.
PS: I also stumbled over something called vRoot, that might be an alternative to Kingroot, although I have no idea whether it is as good at rooting and not installing unwanted extra apps. I guess someone who has used it on a tablet/phone that has a backup available might be able to shed some light on that.

This is the QFIL (Qualcomm Flash something system) mode, however I do now know whether that helps anything at all. Since it seems to me it probably wont accept the TB2-X30F_USR_S000015_1601151950_Q8009_ROW_qpst.zip file mentioned in the thread. It seems to expect some xml file, maybe the zip file contains that?

[PUT ROM TEMPORARILY HERE: https://www.wetransfer.com/download...024ee2974a44f8aa50e3dcd120160615184237/a84735 ]
Wow, suddenly action! With the help of Dead2 and Andersbp I have made some progress. Here are my steps:
I purchased the ROM from the Iranian site, and downloaded the other from the Russian forum. So now I have 2 ROMs:
65M TB2-X30F_S000015_160115_ROW_TO_TB2-X30F_S000016_160602_ROW_WCA72E4AB5.zip (Russian)
1.1G TB2-X30F_USR_S000015_1601151950_Q8009_ROW_qpst.zip (Iranian)
The smaller one is simply an update, which you could install easily:
1) boot into Recovery Mode
2) select "Apply Update from ADB"
3) run: adb sideload TB2-X30F_S000015_160115_ROW_TO_TB2-X30F_S000016_160602_ROW_WCA72E4AB5.zip
Which works... UNLESS YOU ROOTED THE DEVICE. Then it fails, and does not want to update. Thanks Lenovo
So, the larger one is a different type of ROM. This one will not load with adb sideload (gives footprint and signature error). But it DOES contain all the files to flash with QFIL (Qualcomm Flash something system).
Here I'm stuck. I followed this guide:
http://guidebelajar.blogspot.nl/2016/03/guide-how-to-flash-firmware-lenovo-vibe-p1.html
and tried to install these packages:
1) You must download and install USB Driver for Lenovo on your windows computer or PC.
2) QPST-2.7.422-qfil-qcom-Upgrade-Tool-20140422
3) Download Qualcomm HSUSB USB COM Drivers
(Note that you need to register and log in to needrom.com FIRST. Then click the link, but it will give an access error. Remove all in the URL after needrom.com (so go back to the main site), then go back to the download link, and it will work - the file is there.)
1) and 2) install pretty fine, but 3) is just a zip with a lot of drivers, no installer. I have no clue on how to install the proper driver...
Furthermore, the site suggests to install something on the device itself:
5) Create a folder with the name sdfuse in the root of the SD-card phone
6) Put the qsb-firmware (file with the extension .qsb) in the folder sdfuse.
Here I have 2 problems: First, my device does not boot, so I cannot create/copy files. Seconly: I cannot find qsb-firmware.qsb anywhere...
@ Dead2: How did you go through these steps?

Great, thanks for sharing the firmware, I hope you and everyone else with a softbricked tablet can get it fixed now
I am sure some of those would be willing to donate a couple of bucks to you if they get theirs working again.

Ok, I used a LenovoUsbDriver_v1.0.12.exe driver installer, and that includes the HSUSB drivers needed, and I can confirm that windows recognizes the tablet as being in HSUSB mode with those. Whether QFIL does I have not tested.
I got the driver package from here: www DOT teamandroiders DOT com/lenovo-usb-drivers-download/

After you get past installing the HSUSB driver, you are officially the one that has gotten furthest on this.
I will assist in any way I can, but I will not attempt flashing my own tablet until I actually need to

I tried that one too, but to no avail When I try to execute the executable, it ask for administrator permission, and after that vanishes...
I am running Windows 8, 64 bit. You?
Other question: when is your tablet recognised by Windows? Also in Recovery Mode?
Thanks!

No, I have spent too many hours translating Farsi today, was quite happy to find this one easily accessible on the Russian site
Can you check one of the bigger files? Might come in handy if my version seems incompatible for some reason...

Press the Volume Up button and keep holding it while connecting it to the computer/laptop using USB cable.
Lenovo Vibe P1 will vibrate one time, and you will see black screen.
You need to hold in VOLUME UP AND VOLUME DOWN AND POWER button at same time. Until you see

Yep, its at the bottom of my first post also, found that out by accident while trying to get into the normal recovery.
Now, hopefully someone will want to port TWRP and CM13 or Paranoid to this tablet

SUPER! Succes here as well! The trick was indeed to hold both vol UP and DOWN
Now: brand-new unrooted device
Thanks
Btw: I noticed that the rom from Andersbp is a TB2-X30L rather than the TB2-X30F. I used my F file (paid for it, dammit ), and that one also works well.
I am currently checking if I can modify the stock ROM to enable root / mult-user. Any hints?
Nice zwartoog !
I Can root with kingroot.. Are there better alternatives ? Kingroot is Full of bloatware

Noo, no Kingroot. That's where all the disasters began. It is full of bloatware. Trying to uninstall Kingroot lead to bricking the device
Personally I am only interested in re-enabling the multi-user feature from lollipop. WHICH IS FOR SOME REASON DISABLED BY LENOVO Even when rooted and modifying the system/build.prop did not re-enable it.
I'm giving up now. At least I have a workable device. Restored pride. And more important: 3 happy kids
I think the TB2-X30L is the LTE version of the tablet, while the TB2-X30F is the wifi-only version. If correct, then there should be no problem
when using the LTE on a non-LTE model, but the other way around could potentially cause LTE to not work. The LTE firmware might have some
extra apps and settings enabled to cater to this ability, but it might also be completely identical. Btw, what does the model information say
after being flashed with the L firmware? In any case it is useful to know that they are cross-compatible, since sometimes there can be differences
in chipsets or screens that can cause minor or major problems.
As I mentioned earlier, another root alternative to kingroot seems to be vRoot, but I have not tried it myself. But now that it is possible to
recover a bricked tablet, it is also less risky to test such things.
BTW: Please remember to use the "Thanks!" button on posts you find helpful, I have tried to do so myself on the posts that I find helpful

I am running in circles...help please

Hi,
as the title says: I am running in circles when it comes to my ZU and me trying to get things done and to run...like Viper4Android.
But first things first:
I bought my ZU nearly one year ago, KitKat 4.4 was installed and I unlockes the bootloader via Sonys Webpage for that.
But soon after it got bricked, as it wouldn't charge anymore. So I sent it to Sony and when I got it back, Lollipop 5.0.1 was installed *hurray*
I don't know it they locked the bootloader again, but it say, I'm still allowed to unloak it.
So first question: is there a way to check, if the bootloader is locked or not?
"fastboot devices" doesn't give any errors, but it also give absolutly no message back. So I'm not sure if the phone is correctly recognized.
Coming to root:
For now, only KingRoot (yeah, I know...) can get me root access, at least without flashing. Flashing is a procedure I have always the highest respect of, because for me it seems quite risky to turn the phone into a brick.
But anyway. Now I got root, but Viper4Android needs also BusyBox, but installing that fails because of Sony RIC. So second questins: There is really no way of disabling RIC without flashing?
So I tryed installing a Recovery, this is called "ZU-lockeddualrecovery2.8.26-RELEASE.combined" and it seems to be the most recent one. But when trying to install that, it says it wont run on 5.1.1. Yeah, I upgraded some days ago, damn...
You see, one single thing (wanting Viper) produces such a tail of problems and I have now absolutly no idea where I should start to get any further.
Now I'm at a point where I think about really flashing a new completly new ROM, perhaps even Android M, but as seems one of the ones avaible yet supports ZU's hardware completly, right?
So what am I doing to do?

ric is probably needed to disable... yep
Flash the zip in recovery: disable_ric_file.zip
And then install the app: SELinuxModeChanger.v.3.2.b.42.crk.Dependencies.Removed.apk
Set the app to permissive.
And Viper4Android will work.
Can't guarantee it will work on locked bootloader.

And here is, what the Sony webapage told me. Last time and now again:
Install the Android SDK and the device drivers
1. Download and install the Android SDK.
2. If you’re running Windows, you also need to download and install an updated Fastboot driver. This is the standard android_winusb.inf-file, with a few lines of code added to enable Fastboot to support Sony & Sony Ericsson devices. Replace the original android_winusb.inf-file with the downloaded file in the usb_driver folder, located in the Android SDK > extras > google folder on your computer. If you can’t find the usb_driver folder, make sure you are running Google USB Driver package revision 4 or higher in your Android SDK. If not, install the Google USB Driver Packager using the Android SDK manager.
Note! If you’re running OSX or Linux, you are not required to install any additional drivers.
3. On your device, turn on USB debugging by going to Settings > Developer options and click to enable USB debugging.
As of Android Jelly Bean 4.2 the Developer options are hidden by default. To enable them tap on Settings > About Phone > Build Version multiple times. Then you will be able to access the Settings > Developer options.
Connect to Fastboot
1. Turn off your Xperia™ Z Ultra.
2. Connect a USB-cable to your computer.
3. On your Xperia™ Z Ultra, press the Volume up button at the same time as you connect the other end of the USB-cable. For Windows users, when asked for a driver, point to the usb_driver folder where you placed the android_winusb.inf-file, and select the Android Boot loader Interface-file.
4. When your device is connected, open a command window on your computer and go to the platform-tools folder within the Android SDK folder.
5. Enter the following command:
fastboot devices
6. Verify that you get an answer back without any errors.
Enter unlock key
WARNING! The command below contains your unlock key. If you perform this step, you will unlock the boot loader. This may void your warranty and/or any warranty from your operator.
1. If you still want to unlock the boot loader of your device, enter the following command:
fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x6C88871CBAABD41D
2. Verify that you get an answer back without any errors.
Done!
You have now unlocked the boot loader of your device. Return to Developer World for the latest developer news from Sony.

Well, at least I tried to flash twrp.
The way it is descripted in the Thread above didn't work, because the download link is broken for me.
So I went to the Play Store and installed TWRP Manger App - at least I have root thanks to KingRoot. But that app gave me an error when trying to install twrp recovery.
So I went here https://twrp.me/devices/sonyxperiazultra.html
I put the .img on sdcard, connected the phone, gave in the commands and there was no error message. No success either, there was just something like "has written x block in y seconds" or something like that. So I just thought I'll give it a try, but as written, when trying to ent recovery on boot, the screen remained black.
/edit:
Speaking of drivers, I forgot.
You were right, the wrong one was used. I don't know why, because since last time I haven't deleted the drivers or anything. Windows should have used the correct one again, but it didn't.
Damn, I'm so stupid, thanks a lot

My apology. I was on my phone in direct sunlight and did not read the whole post.
Yes if you have sent it to SONY and gotten it back. It is for sure a new motherboard with locked bootloader.
Even if they used JTAG to fix your motherboard. Unlikely that staff would spend time doing this. Either way the bootloader would be locked.
Your bootloader is locked. This is why flashing any .img will not work.
First thing. Unlock your bootloader.
The universal tool to flash files from phone without a computer is this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mkrtchyan.recoverytools
The link for for TWRP 3.x is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=18690
NOTICE: Since TWRP V3. The procedure to enter recovery has changed.
New instructions is to power off the phone, hold volume down and power button until phone vibrates.
Let go of the buttons when the SONY logo appears.
A few seconds later the TWRP logo will appear.
But as MusterMaxMueller mentioned. You don't have the correct driver installed if you see an empty line if you type fastboot devices in cmd.
Try follow the post I wrote yesterday to get fastboot working:
Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67897097&postcount=12
Type these commands in cmd. Run CMD as Administrator:
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON
Then "Disable driver signature enforcement" on boot:
Press windows key + R
Type: shutdown -o -r -t 0
Press enter
