you can see them by trying, Samsung does not release a change log. You can find experiences of new version in the General's Stock Firmware threat though.

Hi all ,
Just received an OTA update on my international version of Samsung Galaxy s3.
New update shows JRO03C.I9300XXDLJ1 in phone information menu.
What I'm worried is that no official information is available on any website or any forum. I've tried it everywhere on the net but found nothing.
Can someone please guide what's going on with my gs3.
I'm using gs3 in Pakistan and not under any operator contract so things appear for my phone as international version. Most of the previous updates were pretty much documented or someone had discussed them oddly , this newest possible release is 4.1.1 and changed plenty of things.
Any info will be highly helpful.
Best Regards,
Busyboy

I installed this new firmware, my SIII became so laggy! I just want to go back to the previous version
Anyone who knows why this version is so laggy?
I have updated my phone to this version then all of sudden no calls coming through. People telling my my phone is unavailable when infact its switched on.
I then discovered that when I turn off the mobile data the calls do come through. I am not sure if there is a setting I have not picked up. I have tried GSM only and Dual Mode but same problem. Would this my phone, Network Provider ot what. I have to switch off my data now.
How do I revert to the previous version?

Hey Guys,
I am having the same problem. The day my Samsung Galaxy S3 got updated with Samsung's JB update, the performance has gone down.
The phone really lags in opening the keyboard, switching between Apps and the list goes on.
I am looking for some links to restore my ICS again.
Does any one know how ??
does anyone know the complaint email id for reporting Samsung G S3 ?? :cyclops:
It seems like there are quite a few people experiencing problems with this JB update? I myself experienced it for a while but now it seems ok again??? I don't know what or where or why though? It seems strange that Samsung would release an 'update' without making sure all glitches were ironed out? Surely they must be looking into a solution? I know a lot of people on here say 'flash a new rom' but to someone like me, even the 'easy' tutorials are a completely different language & seem so daunting!!

If I use Rom for other baseband I9300XXELLA , will it harm????
Hello guys, I have Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300. I would like to know what is diffrence between different ROMs for S3, there are few types (rom types: I9300XXELLC, I9300XXELLA, I9300XXELL5, I9300XXELK4) and I dont know what is what. Can any one explain which is which and what are differences? I would also like to know what is kernel for??
here is link to post where are different ROM, and I dont know which one to chouse.

They are all version codes of Samsung official ROMs.
XXELLC being one of the newest of them all.
Newest usually means that highest changelist number so the build with the most fixes.
Edit:
Nobody knows the exact changelists, only Samsung.

And what about diffrent kernels???
You want to know what a kernel is?
So you've searched and didn't find an answer? No way
If you're too lazy to search and read by yourself ..
Do your schoolwork first and use Google search feature, a great one... All is written somewhere, just up to you to find it.
Wikipedia also a good place.
Hello all, I have a question that I hope isn't already answered.
I have my T-Mobile galaxy S5 and I had rooted it and flashed roms, the whole nine yards... I then un-rooted it and flashed the stock rom (the most current at the time).
It has been a couple months since I have updated it because as you guys know, once you root your phone, you no longer get any OTA updates...
So my question is, if I go from the current stock T-Mobile build that I am on (G900TUVU1ANCH) to the most current one, correct me if I am wrong, (G900TUVU1BNG3) will I miss out on anything from the releases before that? Like I know that T-Mobile added the VoLTE software in the release before this one... if I skip that release for the new one, will I not receive that software? Do the new builds add on to the previous ones?
Thank you for your responses!

No, the latest version of the firmware is the whole firmware. It should include the whole system with all updates etc.

yup, just install the latest and your good.
As the earlier reply suggested, you do not need to install all of the firmware versions that have been released. The most current, full firmware image will be a stand alone and full featured set of features. If you find any feature missing, it would only be because Samsung or the carrier depreciated it and do not intend that feature to be available on any future firmware releases either.
So you just need to flash the most current firmware.

Hi, so I am new to the whole android thing and my partner has a new phone so I thought, why not learn something about it and try to upgrade her old one since it's impossible to do normally, let me explain.
So the version in question is GT-I9300 JZO54K.I9300XXELLA and after researching it seems as if the highest version possible is already on the phone, 4.1.2, yet I know a few people that also has a galaxy S3 but they are able to upgrade on a regular basis.
So I want to know can this phone be upgraded in any way? Also how do I know what version I can use? there are so many different versions for each phone
Thanks

There are custom and stock versions of Android 4.3 as well as custom 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 roms. I suggest reading up here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/ref-one-user-guide-video-tutorial-t1944196
So let me get this straight, providing the ROM is for a Sumsung S3 GT-I9300 I can put in on my rooted S3 device?
Does the Baseband, Kernel Version or Build number have anything to do with what ROM's I can use?

Yes, if the rom is made for your phone, then it shouldn't be too big of an issue to install. The versions are important insofar as it's not recommended to downgrade, due to the Knox and bootloader "updates" from Samsung. As far as the modem, just make sure it's for the same update (4.4 modems for 4.4 roms, etc) unless the developer of the rom you are looking at suggests another. If they don't mention it specifically in their install directions then it's best to have the one matched to the region you are in for the international Galaxies like the S3.
