I'm trying to unlock the boot loader of my MOTOROLA Photon 4G WIMAX (not Motorola photon Q 4G LTE). But after the "fast-boot oem unlock" command the cmd is displaying an error message ".................INFOOEM unlock is not implemented"could you please possibly provide me the proper pudding file for RSDLITE flashing.
Youre on 2.3.5 right? If so only way you can is if you bought it with 2.3.5 on there and no ota update

If it was updated through ota then you got the error messages you got when using pudding.

Thank you. I've searched and found mine: 20000000000020000000100000000, so 2.3.5 electrify locked(try modified unlock method from above: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650520 )
So...still don't know if I can or not. In the last post of that thread( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650520&page=20 ), Lightsword1942 offered a "possible solution". But I don't want to try if the chances to brick it are high :/. Would you mind telling me what do you think?

Hold off for a few minutes before you SBF and risk losing your unlock. Other phones I have had, doing a similar process as sbf, has killed unlocks.

im downloading the sbf now it is 1.4 gb !!!

I know theres alot on the section part i just need to know which method works for this version.

I think you can run the bootloader from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216143
Flash it in RSDlite. It will fail, but don't panic. Pull the battery, and run the moto-fastboot command lines to verify that you've been unlocked. You can then root either via the photon-torpedo method, or AIO root method.

No, there is not yet a fully functional unlocker. There's one that mostly works but it breaks 4G.
You can root it just fine, though, without unlocking it.

Yeah if you want custom roms, you'll need to unlock the bootloader. It's a really easy process
1) Get RSDlite
2) Get the unlocked bootloader SBF file and flash it
3) Run the cmd lines to check to see if you're unlocked
4) Root and install CWM
5) Flash away!

Please read again. The unlocker is what breaks 4G, not root.

It's not SIM unlocked and it's Verizon branded. Can be unlocked somehow? (I've bought unlock codes by IMEI address but it did't worked)

The only known methods for SIM-unlocking a D2G are to convince Verizon to give you an unlock code, or to purchase an unlock code from a vendor who offers a refund on codes that don't work (because there is a good chance third-party vendors' codes won't work).
If you don't believe me, search this forum and the Droid 2 Global General forum for "sim unlock" and see what others have said.

They use TI tool and some files to flash the phone, TI tool is easy to get but we must have the files

you can, try the 4.5.608 sbf first, if you use this one you can not go back to earlier

I have updated my photon by mistake to 2.3.5 in July with out realizing that I was rooted. Now in August I realized that I was not rooted since I wanted to try unlock boot loader. Any case, I tried the torpedo method, One click method and many others.
The problem is that the libphoton.so file is still there in my /lib directory and the permissions got changed. I tried to rename the references with "2" in the photon-torpedo.sh file but still didnt have success. Any one have any ideas on how to get back root?
Did yoou rename the libphoton-torpedo.so to libphoton- torpedo2.so?

Yes in the photon-torpedo.so. Any one can post the script after modification, I have a feeling that I didnt modify it at the right place. in /lib, I dont have permission to do it now since the permissions are set to 755

I have been trying to find some time to update the photon direct method to deal with this.
Help needed
Any one to help? Over the week end I tried to modify the photon-torpedo.sh script. Basically currently I dont have any type of permissions to write into the /lib folder so my script fails even if I rename the .so file. Any other options? Is it something I am doing wrong?
Some people have had problems with the direct photon-torpedo method after updating to 2.35 OTA. What I did was do it using ADB on Windows 7 through my command prompt. Instructions here:

I bricked my photon when I was trying to install a custom rom..
I get the error failed to boot 2.

In the first step itself when I want my phone to be back to stock I not able to do it...When im trying to transfer the sbf file I get "Failed flashing process. Unable to retrieve interface handle. (0x7027)"

It is locked...
I did not unlock the bootloader..
Thats what the problem was your bootloader was locked so you cant flash roms that only work when unlocked

If that don't work...
Find the Electrify 2.3.5 USC_19 sbf file you can install to get back up and running. But its not sprint. You have to install a couple of other files to get the sprint radio and wi-fi to work. It's all here, google is your friend.

The error is actually ok just pull battery out and put it back in and turn on the phone, us cellular boot screen should come up and also it may take a little time to boot up completely to home screen.
