will it be available in future? i mean after the bug fixes or do we have to live with ics only?

we probably get it, i think reputation of htc will fall if they dont!
but again u can run JB running above method! the bugs are not so annoying as you mayb think

You bet that it will be another update (and very soon) because they make a huge mistake that must be repaired or they could lose a lot of clients.

New Updates ?

Hi
It has been a while since last galaxy s2 got an official update ?!
dose anyone know why ?
world wide no any official update since the arrival of Kh3 which was a month and a week ago ?
we usual got updates every 1 to 2 weeks ?!
2.3.5 is on its way.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
so that is why updates stoped ?
and i didnt hear that 2.3.5 will be released to galaxy s2 are you sure ?
ice cream's on the way
I'm still waiting for the official 2.3.4 update (I have an unlocked phone from the UK). The current firmware has a weird bug that causes the data connection to occasionally drop... So I'm hoping the next update fixes this.
will 2.3.5 be official to galaxy s2 ?

Is something broken in hk3 that needs to be updated? Or do you simply want an update because its simply newer?
and is there any release date ?

1)because it's simply newer
2)because as we know every update comes fixes bugs
3)has more features
4)has more battry Life
is that enough?
Whenever it gets posted to samfirmware.com then it's ready...

I had a phone die from bad Samsung officially released FW after a KIES update. Plus Samsung wouldn't support it even though it was "incorrectly placed by them", and given the green light for my region (and I went through the finger pointing game between Samsung/carrier)
Odin is definitely the way to go. You get a million times better support from here over Samsung if anything goes wrong...

I don't get it. So far the SG1 has seen more timely updates than the current flagship. Why?

And you need bug fixes/new features/more battery life updates every week? Download cm7, you'll get updates everyday.
i think it take again a while before an update comes! i don't get it the big successor of samsung and sgs1 again first an update!
Ehh...so far no one really answered the OPs question. Obviously he knows there are custom solutions out there but he simply asked about an official Kies update. I am on XEU as well and am frustrated by the lack of an official update in over 2 months. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is going to be able to give you any reason why there hasn't been updates or any information on when one may be coming. Samfirmware isn't really official and I haven't seen any quotes from an official Samsung source like their twitter. Seems like we just have to wait and suffer with the battery bug and the data connection issues...
I'm also very disappointed with speed of Samsung in releasing new updates. Anyway now I have HTC Sensation for test (Czech) and Android is still 2.3.3, but in Germany it is 2.3.4
So I would like to mainly ask Google to step into this jungle and make some order. Otherwise, I think people will turn to iOS or WM 7.5, where updates are more clear...

new update available 01/12/12

sorry if its already been said but i didnt anyone post this. theres a new update available for our phone i would post up the link but its my first post, and unable to do so

It says there is no update available right now.
According to AndroidAuthority.com: http://www.androidauthority.com/sprint-says-htc-evo-3d-to-get-ota-update-today-43976/
Sprint has posted that the HTC EVO 3D version 2.17.651.5 update should start rolling out today. It’s a minor maintenance release that addresses the following:
Updated Peep client (to align with Twitter)
Battery life improvements
Security update
I know you guys with the HTC EVO 3D are dissappointed you aren’t getting Ice Cream Sandwich yet. Yes, HTC did say they’d start rolling out ICS updates for their phones in January, but you know how updates are in the Android world unless you have a Nexus. Now back to the HTC EVO 3D and it’s newest maintenance release from Sprint and HTC.
The OTA should start rolling out to devices today, but you can manually force the update check by tapping Menu > Settings > System updates > HTC software update > Check now. Once you get the update let us know in the comments how well it’s working out for you.

ICS.......

So, I've been running the ICS leak from April on my original RAZR since the day it came out and I absolutely love it. I have also been reading all of the speculative posts about the" official" release to be available soon. I have 2 questions/concerns that I would love to hear some opinions.
1. What will the official release give me that the leak doesn't?
2. How do I back up all of my apps and progress on my games if I do decide to update?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

LMAO....We can only wish the official release will be "bug free"...We all know that won't be the case. It never is. They fix one thing, and break another.

Yeah they "should" but it won't be like this. But i think that the ICS update will be mostly bug free.
And if they don't open up the bootloader they will partially fail by losing some customers..

Right on! Unlockable bootloader would be HUGE! I hope ICS for the RAZR is better than that of the Nexus....Nexus 4.0.2 is very buggy!

Lol 84 is extremely nice. Better than 75 . Moto is really working on a full nice release. I can only guess 204 is better. The ota will have less bugs than 8r does and I haven't encountered any issues in 2 weeks of use. Ota will be very nice without a doubt
It will be bug free, or close. Leaked betas point this way. It may have bugs but will be really impressive SO. Probably much better andstable than actual gb.
Btw. I think you guys are too smart to believe in a 100% bug free system. Think you got it

OTA Update Center

Anyone know if this would be workable for the Rezound. Probably a few more variables to include such as unlocked/locked and s-off/s-on.

It doesn't appear that much has changed since the leaked RUU, as the software number is the same. If HTC doesn't release an official RUU soon, do you think the leaked one will suffice for most people?

what we have are the ones based off of your sys dump, HTC has the notice posted on their support site but it is only an OTA at the moment, i dont think there is any difference so to speak since the release is the same as your dump but kinda hard to say for sure.

im waiting it too can someone help us , cant update via OTA , im at colombia, and a little question if my phone is unlock now if i update it will lock?
I have received the needed ota zip files, and am working to see if there is a way to create a patch for our existing 4.2.2 builds, there doesn't seem to be a massive difference in apps or framework but there is a fair difference in libs and modules. ultimately it may not prove useful but will giv it a shot.
im going to close this thread for now if need be I will reopen it at later date.
thanks @WindyCityRockr and @ryandroid226 for providing links to the files
