Group messaging with Note 2. - HTC Rezound

So I have a weird thing going with group messages. At first I thought it was neo's infection rom, but I am on Gotham now and it is still happening.
I do a lot of group messaging with my wife/rezound, her sister/Droid 3, her husband/Note 2, and a friend/IPhone on AT&T. All of the messages stay together as one conversation, except the Note 2. It always comes in as an individual. I reply in group conversation and his always comes in an individual.
Everyone else in the conversation gets his within the group message though.
Has anyone else encountered this? Handcent does the same thing...

Idk if it helps, but there might be a setting in the message settings on the note to send a group message as an MMS. I've never played with one before, but I know there's that setting on the rezound (at least on the jb roms)

It's a setting in his phone, not yours. When I'm involved in group convos either the idiot chick with the iphone or the idiot dude with the Samsung phone always send individual in replay. Tis annoying.
On HTC phones it usually default to group and you have to change it otherwise.

I would think it would be something on his end, however, everyone else gets his messages within the group message, not individual messages. I find it very odd that it is ONLY his phone that does that.

Is he running an international rom on his note 2? The International roms all have group mms issues

Stock un-rooted. Is there some kind of setting that could be changed in his individual contact?

SMS recipients.

I have an app for my fire department that sends a text message to ~30 people when we get a call. Since I got my Evo, not everyone has been getting the texts. I haven't changed application since the OG evo so the only thing I can think of is that the messages are being limited to the first 15 people. I don't know how that would be since I am using my own app and not the stock messaging app.
Would anyone be able to confirm that the messages are getting limited? If so, how to I either raise or eliminate the limit?

What app are you using?

It's my own app that I created. Basically what it does is it pulls the recipients from an array of numbers and sends a pre-defined text at a push of a button. I can upload most of my source if I need to.
It started happening when I got my Evo LTE.
I made a temporary fix by breaking up the contacts into different lists. Would like to get this limit lifted though.
Have you tried using the groups built into the app?
Our department still uses AlphaText Pagers
I thought it was 40 recipients? I got a pop up when they changed my number after I ported so I decided to text all of my friends group. Well you apparently have to do it in 40 number increments.

Ew. My department has minitors. We don't have enough to give to everyone. That's why I made this app.

I am not using the stock messaging app. I built my own for a 'push a button and drop my phone' since I need to concentrate on getting to the station and not fiddling with my phone.

Just sent out a test and only the 1st 13 people are getting them again. I don't know what is causing this -.-

[Q]MMS messages come in as videos

Well ive had this issue on my galaxy nexus but it appears to be happening also on my galaxy s 3 (Verizon). It usually only happens when someone sends me a picture along with text inside the text message. While its not a HUGE deal its still very annoying. Is there any way to fix this?
I heard all variant of gs3 has this bug. Hopefully Samsung will fix it soon.
Try Gosms if it bother you that much.

I've once again had to resort to using Handcent as a workaround for the mms issues. I don't understand why no Android phones can handle mms as well as other (unspoken) phones.

This has been the way mms are displayed on sgs1, sgs2 and now sgs3. Its definitely annoying but doubt they will fix since I've seen this on all three generations now

I really hope I dont get flamed for saying this but I LOVE my gs3 but in regards to messaging well..a certain type of "phone" handles things much better -_-

It only shows up as a movie when they send you multiple pictures in one MMS. Have them send you one pic at a time and they'll come through normal

Messaging app initially flashes contact numbers then names

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue/maybe knows a fix. A lot of times, when I go into my Messaging application, the contact names initially show up as their numbers...then switch back to the names. It seems like the app 'refreshes' itself.
I used to have this issue on Android a while ago, but it seems like something this simple shouldn't be happening with 2GB of RAM and a quad core processor.
Not a deal-breaker by any means; it's just an annoyance.
Nobody? This is becoming increasingly annoying on a device that otherwise has wonderful performance.

I've been having the same weird issue... Like you said though, just a minor annoyance.

It seems to me like the application isn't staying in memory and has to refresh every time you open it.

yea this is a bit annoying but I think I remember this happening on my Thunderbolt as well. Hopefully this can be fixed with an update
Same here. Like its not caching or something.

Pretty sure its a sense issue. Get this on my rezound as well, and also in the call history, and caller id (phone number only sometimes).
I have the same issue which is why I stopped using the default messages app.

SMS issues due to stupid iMessages

So my DNA came in last night and traded in my i*hone for it. Good decision. Any ways I can not get texts from iPhone users because apple still thinks I have an iPhone and use imessages.. I don't knowing anyone else had this problem but I would like so help with this predicament .

I believe you need to go through iTunes to delink your phone number from iMessages. I may be wrong but I remember reading something in another thread about that. When you set up your iMessage, what did you do? I was under the impression that you had to do something with iTunes or there was a sync setting, something along those lines.
I just checked a box on the iPhone. Strange things were happening all my texts were being sent to a family member with an iPhone, I turned it off on their phone and now I am recieving texts.. I will probably call apple and see if they can take my number off the server or something

Had my phone since June

Got this phone back in June. I love. Never had the need to root it. However my SMS takes long to load. Group text messaging is so bad it shuts down the stock messaging app.. The stock text messaging function is virtually useless at times. I do not use any other messaging apps to make it clear.
Any Help?
How many messages do you have?

Yes!! You're like my wife. She never deltes texts. If I don't text the same person back after a while I delete the thread. No need to keep it alive.

its usually group texts that im in. The group texts accumulate to 9-10 thousand messages a month. I just recently cleaned out 7 group texts that date back as far as july. Yes I have had running conversations for that long LOL. Might as well open a forum for my group of friends smh.
