Had my phone since June - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Got this phone back in June. I love. Never had the need to root it. However my SMS takes long to load. Group text messaging is so bad it shuts down the stock messaging app.. The stock text messaging function is virtually useless at times. I do not use any other messaging apps to make it clear.
Any Help?

How many messages do you have?

Man I have a ton of messages. I'm hoarding them. Lol. Is that the issue?

Yes!! You're like my wife. She never deltes texts. If I don't text the same person back after a while I delete the thread. No need to keep it alive.

its usually group texts that im in. The group texts accumulate to 9-10 thousand messages a month. I just recently cleaned out 7 group texts that date back as far as july. Yes I have had running conversations for that long LOL. Might as well open a forum for my group of friends smh.

Sms spamming?

So I was talking with my buddy about spamming over sms. Long story short I know in the past I have bombed him with like 100 messages in a few minutes. He said you can't anymore. I said I can and tried to show him. Now he will only receive like 4 and the rest go poof. Did sprint limit this somehow?

I highly doubt it.. my girlfriends phone will, for whatever random reason while getting a signal off our airrave (what a P.O.S. that is.) spam anyone she last txt like 40 times. no rhyme or reason. only her phone does it, and it's not even the phone because we had that replaced as well.. still does it. Mine has never done it.
Try jds SMS bomber. You have to Google for the apk.

Am I missing something or.... How is there no good junk mail filter apps? Email is one of the most used things on smartphones, you'd think the play store would be flooded with these apps.

Oh. Well the emails have nothing to do with your phone then. Just mark them.as spam. I get spam everyday
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
I've got several GMail accounts that I've never used for anything except self-storage, and I get 30-40 spam e-mails in those every day. Google used to have the best spam filter I'd ever seen...now it's the worst. :/ As soon as my Alma mater switched to Google Apps for Education, my incoming spam on that account quadrupled.
Gmail still is the best at filtering spam. You are not seeing 95% of what it filters automatically.
For the ones that get through take 5 minutes to train it. Mark the ones that are spam spam and it will quickly learn to mark those automatically.
Also; watch what you are installing and downloading. Most spam is brought on by installing questionable apps or clicking questionable websites.
I am getting them too. About 1 or 2 a day. Some days I get none. They are coming from hijacked email accounts meaning gmail thinks it's actually coming from an authentic live person trying to send a real email to you and therefore is getting around the spam filter.

Doesn't delete messages at the cap

I use handcent and the default app. I've set them both to delete messages after 4350 per thread is reached but neither of them actually do it. It results in breaking the stock app around 4600 messages. Any ideas?

I'm gonna be that guy and say you probably shouldn't try to save 4k+ texts per thread. Lower it to like, 500 or something. Problem solved.

Why does the Facebook apps blow on this phone

I find the notifications and the app to be sluggish at times and I know it has nothing to do with the phone.

Just use the web version...and push notifications work just as fast in the app. as my iPod..they both alert at the same time.

Their updates are garbage too. I always have to read the comments before updating because they almost always have some sort of problem.

Blackberry sems to be the only one with a reliable + official Facebook app from my experience.
And that phone is for dinosaurs.
Neither my iPod Touch 4 or EVO gets them consistently.
The facebook app is an embarrassment to that company. I truly can't believe they havent done something about it. Google+ has one of the best looking and functioning mobile apps I have personally ever used, fb should take notes.

The FB app sucked on the OG EVO. It's not the phone. It's ridiculous that a website of that stature has such a crappy app.
I agree, the app is so slow I usually just give up before the content is fully loaded and turn on my computer haha.
Slow as hell on my One X aswell, almost bought an s3 in a rage
You would figure for a multi billion dollar company they could do a simple app. It worked way better before they added everything. I normally go through the browser anyways. I don't need up to date notifications but if you did why not turn on text notification? I mean you get unlimited texts anyways.

I might just uninstall all updates, it will run quicker. I figure every update is for advertisers gain, not ours

Funny you mention that. I haven't noticed any ads on the mobile version and I figure they just use our data as "payment". Overall I kind of want to ween off of Facebook. I feel they sold out just at the right time.

It sucks cause Facebook sucks they can't even run a chat service without people"signing on and off" all the time

Ww need a new social network. Every dog has it's day, and maybe Facebook has had theirs? Although it should be a network defined by it's users, not controlled by profit and exposure.
FYI, the facebook app for Blackberry is actually made by RIM, but with facebook's support. That's why it doesn't suck as bad.
Also, facebook's app on iOS (both iPhones and iPads) suck. Countless mistakes and bugs and they never update it either. I usually just end up using the mobile web version of it.
They have no real mobile strategy. That's why the stock is crapping out. If they had a plan to make $$$ off a mobile platform they might care about its quality and ability to draw customers for advertisers.

At least with Sense's Friendstream, Facebook at least seems functional (to a degree).
Google+ is great, just none of my friends are on it lol, but it does things Facebook wish it could do. I love the messenger on G+. While trying to use Facebook's, snail mail may be a more effective use of time lol.
Sorry for the bad quote, I wish the XDA app would work better with my Transformer :banghead:

Try FriendCaster, much better IMO than FB app has ever been.

Group messaging with Note 2.

So I have a weird thing going with group messages. At first I thought it was neo's infection rom, but I am on Gotham now and it is still happening.
I do a lot of group messaging with my wife/rezound, her sister/Droid 3, her husband/Note 2, and a friend/IPhone on AT&T. All of the messages stay together as one conversation, except the Note 2. It always comes in as an individual. I reply in group conversation and his always comes in an individual.
Everyone else in the conversation gets his within the group message though.
Has anyone else encountered this? Handcent does the same thing...
Sent from a Gotham citizen
Idk if it helps, but there might be a setting in the message settings on the note to send a group message as an MMS. I've never played with one before, but I know there's that setting on the rezound (at least on the jb roms)
It's a setting in his phone, not yours. When I'm involved in group convos either the idiot chick with the iphone or the idiot dude with the Samsung phone always send individual in replay. Tis annoying.
On HTC phones it usually default to group and you have to change it otherwise.
I would think it would be something on his end, however, everyone else gets his messages within the group message, not individual messages. I find it very odd that it is ONLY his phone that does that.
