Hi, Dropped my 2 week old Desire X, shattered screen, unreadable, in fact, its black!
What I want to know is, how to transfer the data from my phone to either my old HTC Wildfire S or on to my netbook? I can hear it booting up.
I don't have lots of knowledge with this type of thing and never went through insurance as last time my sons phone got lost it was cheaper to go buy a new one!
So, please don't get too technical.
Any help would be fab.x
What type of data you need to transfer?
Sent from my HTC Desire X
The data i need is all my contacts, most other stuff is on my sd card.
Hi, I thought someone out there wouldve been able to give me some advice?
Can you try official htc sync software? It can transfer contacts and that stuffs
Flowed from my HTC branded muffin...

I just bought a HTC Radar 4g from someone and its brand new with receipt and everything but some reason it doesn't have any service. When i start it up it says t-mobile for 2 seconds then switches to emergency calls only. I have tried my mom and dads sim but it doesn't seem to work either. Can anyone help me with my problem. I have t-mobile and my sim works on my e71x but not Radar.
Is it inserted the correct way?

yeah i made sure it was I saw the t-mobile for like 2 seconds pop up once but that was about it then it went to emergency calls only again. I tried to look for solution but few people have had this problem and im not sure what the problem is.
Try cleaning the sim card with a q-tip. Otherwise it sounds like you got a bad phone or the phone was deactivated by T-Mobile (ie it was stollen)

If the phone was deactivated is there any way I can reactivate it? Ill try the q-tip thing.
You can call up t-mobile and tell them what happend.
cpu BAD or phone library bad? the same to my blacyberry 9000
I also had similar problem (though in my case the phone was an unlocked phone). It would not recognize any Sim (would give Invalid Sim or Sim error), this was for a brand new phone right out of the box. Took it to HTC Service Center. They said motherboard was faulty and needs to be replaced! Finally they relented to replace the unit (HTC Service in India is pathetic.) But the replacement unit they gave is not new one!!! Felt cheated. Have decided not to buy HTC here in India again!! This when I am a loyal HTC customer for years now (am using HTC Sensation as my primary phone and ex-phone was HTC Touch Diamond).
At least the phone itself (ie. Radar) is quite good. Looks good, feels great in the hand (better than Sensation) and battery life is outstanding (I am charging it only every 4th day!) OS also is quite good for what it offers (though there are some frustrating things like Zune dependency etc). Its quite stable also compared to the Sensation (no force closes so far (3+ weeks) while Android just crashes the phone at least every other day (or even multiple times in a single day).
Could someone PLEASE explain how did this happen with only my hotmail account synced on the Telus unlocked one x+. I only have 6GB/month and I still didn't get my bill, I'm kinda afraid at 0,05$/mb over usage. Really disappointed by HTC. Phone is not even rooted, only SIM unlocked

If you got sync turned on 24/7 then believe it or not, it checks for new emails every so often and so data gets wasted! :good:
Try to turn off syncing and ONLY sync manually and that should fix your data issue
I use gmail and it doesn't appear to use much data at all. With Telus if your worried about going over you can login to your account online and check how much data you have used for the month, its front and centre when you log in. What I do if I notice I'm approaching my limit go to the addon part of your plan online and scroll to the bottom and add a data service block which will basically disable all data for your phone until you go back in and remove it. It's effective almost immediately too.
Where did you find that data usage screen??
Never mind I found it

Also just hit *3282# and you will get usage in a text right away but I would take it to the store and have them remove that and say something is wrong with the phone before the bill even comes

Me too!!
I am SO SO happy someone else out there has the same problem - now I can contact HTC support whi say they never heard of it and let them know!
My phone has never had an issue until 4 days ago, when it downloaded 4.4GB over cellular and 4,9GB over wifi - all attributed to the HTC Sense Mail App. It has to be a bug!!
I have an open ticket ith HTC support, to whom I 've sent screenshots of the data usage, proving it was their mail app consuming the data (both using stock usage monitor and also Avast network monitor). Still yet to get any real feedback apart from that it's being investigated and has been elevated to management... All the while, I am responsible for the data usage on my network (UK Voda), so have asked them to disconnect my data tariff, and also alerted my braodband supplier as I've exceeded their fair usage poilcy and will get charged by them too!
*sigh*
You can prevent that by disabling the background data for the mail app. I've done that since then to prevent it of happening again.

HTC support answer
So - in my case, the response fro HTC was the following:
"Dear ,
As the android version on your device does not contain full fallback support to EAS protocol versions below 12.0 it can manifest unpredictable behaviour. This is a software compatibility issue and the recommended solution is to update your Exchange server to a current version."
So - if you're company is running Exchange server 2003, it turns out the HTC's software is not compatible. This is not advertised anywhere! As I'm sure you'll all agree, it's not a response that my company have to upgrade our exchange server to ensure this won't happen again! All my other devices were connected to the same exchange at the same time and didn't experience any problems (Transformer Prime - Stock Jellybean, iPhone 5 (crappy iOS6), Win 7 PC).
Now I'm stuck with my primary device not being able to connect to my primary email account!!!!
Hi Everyone,
I have a HTC One X+, That for some reason wont unlock...as far a i can tell its locked to Telus ( via CID Telus001)
I've bought 4 codes online for this device, 2 others sent me emails saying "we could not find a unlock code for your device's IMEI" The ones that did send one are the same (i got a tip from Telus that on their system the IMEI of my One X+ shows as a One X) on this whim i bought a code for a Telus One X too (and oddly enough the One X code was the same as the others) I also tried an AT&T code, but yet none of them work, the phone is stock not rooted.
So i called HTC and asked them to check in there system what the Phone is listed under, they Told me that It is "Branded to Telus" and "It Is a HTC One X+"
The guy i bought it from told me he was using it on Telus, when i called they found no trace of the IMEI in the system
And about 5 30 min Phone conversations later im still Nowhere....
Any and All help is greatly appreciated

If you can't even see your screen, I think your phone needs a different shop or you need a new phone.
If you can see your screen, try this simple guide:

If that doesn't do it, you can come back here for help.
I just want to say that this phone sucks! I purchased a larger Micro SD card and I'm getting messages about not being able to even sync my email.
