Has anyone else noticed the Gmail notification stays in the bar after archiving from the drop down menu or is it just me?
On mine it stays for 30 sec or so then goes away.

Ditto. On mine it stays as long as the "Undo" option is in the notification pane after archiving. It's only about 5-10 seconds for me.

My Gmail force closes any time i try to click the "breadcrumb" back out of a message and go back to the inbox. If I click the back button, all is well, but if I click the icon in the top left, force close. Is this a known issue?

I just noticed this. Error report sent. I don't know if it used to do this because I only use the phone's hardware back button to get out of an email.

Some times I have this issue all the icons on my screen disappear and I can't get them back. I have to reboot my phone to get them back. I still see the notification bar but nothing else is on the screen and I can not pull down the notification bar.

I recently reflashed CM7 and I remember being able to long press the back button to force close an app. I can't find this in settings, could someone tell me where it is. Also, I now have a clear button on the bottom of my notifications. How would I remove this

Ummm, the "Clear" button? As in translucent? I didn't know the X2 had a clear button.
I have power, volume up and down, menu, home, back, and search.

Seems like a silly place to bury that setting. Thanks for the tip, though.
There is a button that says clear in the pull down status bar when there are notifications

Ah! Got it! Yes, that is to clear all temporary notifications. Like email and text message notifications (there are many, many more that flash a notification to the status bar).
Ciao!
Yes, but it's annoying. How would you go about removing it.
One other question. The 3g tethering in CM7, is that through the carrier. Will Verizon change me for using this, our do I need to use a separate app to get around fees.
Sent from my MB870 using xda premium
No, it's not through Verizon. If it were, it would take you to there sign up page when you use it. I doesn't. Will they catch you if you use it? Who knows. I don't imagine you'll draw any more attention if you use it than you would with any other tether app. My guess is, if you don't go crazy with it you'll be just fine. Could be wrong though. Personally, I don't worry about it. But then, I only use it when it's absolutely necessary.

How could we go about removing the clear button? One way is to open your notifications...ie: text, email, etc... The other way to remove it completely would be to disconnect from mobile data/wifi/internet... An easier way could be to smash your phone, but I don't suggest that...lol
What is annoying, the notifications or the buttons???

On my Evo View green LED flashes almost permanently. At first I think it was caused by some unread message or notification, but I have nothing unread. I've tried to turn off wifi, 4g, cdma, sign out from trillian and so on, but all this had no effect.
can anybody explain, how to turn off this green flash?

Does anyone know if the One has the option to see a preview of an email message in the notification pull down menu? I just bought this phone today and have not been able to find this setting? I thought it was a standard Jelly Bean option, but I could be mistaken.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

I think you could just the 4.2.2 gmail apk and should work
Do you mean like this? I just sent myself a message. and that's how it looks in my notification bar. I do know that if it's a single line like WiFi TetherMod is, you drag it down using 2 fingers. So You'd drag WiFi Tether Mod down using 2 fingers and it would expand. (If the notification is capable)
EDIT: BTW, I'm using the stock Gmail app that comes out the market.

Are you on the stock rom? I don't get this sort of notification, and I don't see an option for this in the Gmail app.

Does it look like this normally? If so, try dragging it with 2 fingers. I'm on Renovate. I don't think a ROM can add this feature. This feature is a JellyBean feature. I've had this feature on my Epic 4G Touch (GS2), as well.
The notification itself, if you drag it down with 2 fingers, it should expand. And you'd have more options and viewability. Like in my previous post.
I've also upload 2 more screenshots showing you a before and after of Google Music. It's a single bar, but if you drag it with 2 fingers it expands.
EDIT: Also it is not an option your turn on and off. By dragging, I mean the actual notification itself.

As you say, it might be in the next version. Getting this stuff early is a big reason folks root and use a custom Rom. I usually do, but just haven't felt the need with the One. It is meeting my needs right out of the box.

Any link for that? I'm not sure it would work over a stock rom, non rooted, but it is worth a try...
I'm interested. Do you have expandable notifications? I mean can you expand other notifications? I've always thought this was just a JellyBean feature and not something that could be taken out and added, or something of the sort.
I discovered that I won't get notifications unless auto sync is turned on. However, even with that on, I can't preview the notification.
I turned it back off because it also lights off the LED, which uses battery, and there is no way to turn that off separately.
I'd really rather save the battery than have constant notification of gmail messages.
The reason its not working for most of you is the battery saver notification. It is listed as a high priority/ongoing notification and essentially kills the auto expand. Expandable notifications have been in Android since 4.1 not 4.2

No its the notification itself... you need to be rooted and use a mod to remove it and then they will work fine

I'm still bone stock, no root, no mods, and I can expand my notifications (if they're expandable.) I have the notification for Power Saver, and this works whether it's toggled on or off.
You have to press and drag with TWO FINGERS to expand them. Not just one.

Sorry, you didn't say anything about "top notification" for "auto expand," what you said (or how it read) was that having the power saver notification in the notifications area was what was stopping folks from being able to expand notifications (with a two-finger swipe wasn't said, but seemed to be implied.) And I didn't think we were talking about "auto expand," but about being able to make them expand if they could...
I just did it on my stock ROM using the two finger method on the notification. I still have my Power saver notification showing also. I wish it would allow me to delete instead of archive.
Why is it that when I'm on the Web my tabs don't close. If push the back button it exits out but tabs stay open. Is there a fix for that.

What I do is next to the address box at the top on the right side, is a little rectangle with a number in it. Click to open the Window manager it will show all the open sites just click on the ones you want to close then click on the rectangle to get back to the browser. You might also try to click on bookmarks the button in the upper right hand corner then history, then bottom left menu button to erase you browsing history. I checked through browser settings can't find anything that allows the browser to hold tabs.

Yes I agree, when I search on Google and wander around several sites. Then I just click the back button, it backs me out of each web page and if I keep going it will take me back to Google then to my home page. It doesn't close the app, I have to do that with Active apps button. Is this how yours is running ?

Running the same. Just annoying that it doesn't close the tabs. Before it would close all tabs. Wish it was like that.
