Hi [After many tries and errors i finally updated with seus and the problem was solved, thanks to all for helping]
i know there are loads of threads up about the X10 being dead but i dont find those problems and solutions any good for my problem so here it is.
I started getting weird boot loops, and the phone started and shut down by itself. Now it wont charge, and it wont turn on.
Things ive already tried:
Tried taking out the battery + sim and sd card, holding the power button for 5sec and then re inserting the battery. ( didnt work )
Tried connecting it to the computer so i could update with pcc ( didnt work )
Tried holding the <-------- button while connecting to computer, ( didnt work )
Tried leaving the battery for a couple of days so it would get low and then trying to charge it ( didnt work )
Tried charging the phone without the battery plugged in ( the green light went on for a while then stoped. :S )
so right now, it wont turn on, it wont charge. What can i do ?

You can also charge your battery with external charger or put it in some another phone and charge it.
After its charged, flash stock firmware using flashtool or use pc companion or seus to go to 2.3.3
Similar problem, no solution thus far
I have a similar problem as the OP, but nothing suggested has worked, my situation a bit more unique (or dire depending on how you look at it).
My phone was working fine about a week and half ago, it had been hanging a lot if I remember correctly and I had to flash a few times the last couple of months. I had just done a flash and the phone was working perfectly so I left it on my desk a couple of days maybe. When I got back to it it would not turn on or charge. I tried everything I'd learned, taking the batter out and leaving it for a bit, leaving it charging for a whole day. No matter what I did I could not get it charged or recognized in USB. I bough a new battery and it arrived today, left it charging for a couple of hours, but nothing's changed. I would hate to have to buy a new phone if there is a possibly simple solution. Anyone?
No LED's whatsoever, the phone is just stone cold non-responsive. Thanks in advance.

Similar problem here, I put maximal brightness on my phone, left it for a while and when I got back to it i would not turn on. Still havent found solution
AW: My x10 is stone dead
Take an old micro usb ,, cut it ,, you will see 4 cables
Green and white for data (pc connection)
And red +
And black or grey -
Take only red + and black -
Then take the battery out of the phone connect the cables plus + go to plus +
And minus - goto minus - ( you can orientate by the battery
Then put battery in with cables connected do you understand?
My english is not so good xD
My mother have the same problem
The phone is only charging this way :/

a few days ago, I installed the CM9.1 v6 from scritch's thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987130
at first, i used the kernel v5 and it was working fine. 3 days ago, i downloaded and flashed the v6 kernel. 2 days ago, I left my phone charging at 47% for an hour or so, when i came back, i saw a black screen and the screen as well as battery was extremely hot(around 35-40 degrees). I tried switching it on but it showed only the kernel logo 'X10 never dies' and then again black screen after flashing blue led 3 times. I waited for 5 minutes. again it got extremely hot. I pulled out the battery and kept it aside for 5 minutes to cool down. after that i tried several times to switch it on but every time i got the same problem and i had to remove the battery to cool it down. at night, i kept the battery out from the phone only. I thought it would work in the morning. But yesterday morning I couldn't even switch it on. I connected it to the charger(an original SE charger with original USB cable). After connecting to the charger also, it heated up instantly but there was no display on the screen and it wasn't charging. I have been trying to charge it since yesterday(using charger and connecting with pc also) but it gets EXTREMELY HOT every time without charging or switching on. Please help me!
What should I do???

the phone is neither switching on nor charging.....I cannot connect it to computer also.....I cant put it in flash mode for connecting to flashtool....nothing is happening except it starts heating gradually after connecting to charger.....((
Tips to connect your phone in flashmode if there is no green light when you are trying to connect it to flashtool:
1. Press back button while plugging it into your computer USB port.
2. Do not release back button and press power button once while you are pressing back button.
3. Green LED light should appear.
4. Release back button when your phone is detected in flashtool.
(MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED)

I charged the battery fully using an external battery charger. When i connect it to flashtool, the green led glows but as soon as i select the file to flash, the led comes off and it starts heating again. I tried using Sony Update Service also to repair it, but as I click on next after connecting it, the same happens, green led goes off and it starts heating up.
Please SOMEBODY help me!!!!
I downloaded the Stock firmware from the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749426
I downloaded the India Generic Kit 1237-0692. I tried flashing it through flashtool but between 14-15%, the flash mode just goes off and the phone gets disconnected. Now, the condition is worse than before. Earlier, I was able to switch the phone on and see the 'Xperia Never Dies' screen from scritch's kernel. But now, nothing is there. Everytime I try to flash generic firmware either thru flashtool or SEUS, the green led goes off and it gets disconnected.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME FIX MY PHONE. I HAVE NO OTHER PHONE TO USE.
I dont really understand what your problem is

You should select the FTF file first then you can connect your phone when the flashtool ask you to connect your phone...

Here are some suggestions my friends note had a similar problem:
1.Try using a new battery maybe the battery fails as it spoilt and can't handle strain(my friend had this problem)
2.Since your phone won't do anything u can try go to a store and say I don't know what happened and ask for help
3.Did you try entering recovery and flashing a Rom or nandroid backup. Your question is not very clear.
Please let us all know what u did to solve the issue.

The title says it all. My brothers Note 2 will only boot past the Galaxy Note 2 boot screen if it is connected to the charger. It doesn't matter if it is a USB or wall charge. If the phone is connected to a power source it boots into the system fine, however, once you remove it from the power source it turns off. I was wondering if it could be a bad battery but the charge is showing it at almost 80%. Has anyone ran into something like this before? If I try to boot the phone without it being connected, it sits at the Note 2 screen for about 15 seconds and then shuts itself off.
I'm not really sure but it sounds like the internals of the battery are closing up (shorting). Are you able to get another battery to test and see if it is the battery?

Having same issues
Seems it hardware plus software issue.
Running 4.1.1 Jelly Bean
Happened after installing few games .
Goes in constant boot loop
Can start by attaching power cord only to socket.
With USB attached to Laptop .. still goes in loop
Powerbank is workaround.
Seems to reboot when saving to sd card ..
Will keep posted

The problem, after getting a stock image back on the phone, ended up being a bad battery. The phone wouldn't hold a charge even though the charging image showed otherwise. Once you get a working image on there, try replacing the battery. I ordered an eight dollar cheapo battery from Amazon and it worked like a charm.

I second this. My phone went down Saturday. Thought it was something with CyanogenMod 11, but flashing back to stock did nothing. Replaced the battery, haven't had any problems since.

Thats first thing i did .. checked different battery ..
Battery is fine .. its not battery issue .. atleast in my case ..
i checked for SDS .. my phone has no SDS insane bug either .. though symptoms were same .
I have backup phone, using it.
I showed for mobile repair.
Said he will solve it .
So plan to take tomorrow.
I can root and all..
But after this booting dont want to brick it ..
So plan to do it via the mobile repair shop
Had same issue. Solved after replace the battery.
I have the same issue right now as well. I was on stock for awhile and used casual one click method, switched between a few roms. Than it started happening after that. So I flashed back to stock on odin and still have that issue. Havent figured it out yet.

I have had this issue and replacing the battery did the trick. I was having issues with the battery beforehand. once the battery showed as being at 17% the phone would start the reboot cycle and not fully boot until it was plugged in.
Have same problem here.....All these started when I replaced my bulge battery. New battery doesn't hold power below 20%. Phone goes off in boot cycle until plugged in a charger
Try to boot on USB/PC data connection
When connected t PC-system will boot to a point. PC indicates new connection then looses it and Note 2 returns to flash screen. Problem start when using corporate email and encrypted data. Works w/o error connected to wall charger. Disconnect crashes system. Flashes screen forever. No diagnostics. Did all SW reboots. Doubt battery, but will try.

Did you ever test a new battery/figure it out?
Mine is doing the same thing I think. I only boots if connected to a wall charger. If connected to PC with USB it will boot to the [T-Mobile in my case] boot screen, connect to PC for a split second (long enough to make the connection sound in windows, then I can't find it) and it stays on that screen. Without being connected to either, or after pulling plug, it turns off.
Same problem here with mine
can't be just the battery because it will stay on w/o charger when in download/recovery mode or if it gets stuck on the Verizon screen.

I'm having the same issue but i can boot into recovery without the charger.
This morning, my Z ultra died on me. It wont start, no vibration, no use pressing vol + power buttons and the red switch. I was neither rooted or bootloader unlocked.
When I tried to connect it to my laptop (Windows 7), its shows as a USB device. The red LED flashes up, the computer finds it and then lets go of it again. Again in a few minutes, the red LED goes up , the computer makes the connection sound and then the red LED goes off again. This cycle goes on and on.
I cannot use SEUS, Flash, Fastboot or do anything. I have checked various forums and apparently I have not hard bricked the phone as the LED still works and the computer recognizes the problem. But no one has given any concrete solution.
When I connect it to the charger which came with the phone, the red LED pops up and then goes off again. I dont know if its charging. HOWEVER, I have used another Chinese Travel Charger, and then the red LED stays solid as if its charging. I dont know what it means.
Please help. I spent a lot behind this phone. I dont want to be left with a brick
It's not an issue if it's completely stock is it? You have your warranty, but i understand that i sucks to have it shipped in for repairs for god knows how long. I had a similar issue some time ago, but i'm bootloader unlocked and what not, so that was pretty easy to fix. You're completely stock though, so it's a little harder to do anything.
What happens if you hold VOL UP when you connect it to your computer? Does a blue LED light up? If yes, does it stay on, or does it disappear? What happens if you hold VOL DOWN when you connect it to your computer? Do you get a blinking LED and then nothing? That's normal, and it's going into Flashmode. If you can get it to stay in Flashmode you'll be able to re-flash a ROM in Flashtool. But be 100% sure to have enough battery, or else you'll be in danger of hard bricking it.
So..
- Plug the wall charger in and charge it for a couple of hours (2-3 hours)
- Try to kick it into Fastboot (VOL UP when you connect it to your computer). Look for blue LED.
- Try to kick it into Flashmode (VOL DOWN when you connect it yo your computer). No LED.
Hi LordManhattan. I dont have any warranty as I brought it from a local reseller .
Whether I press Vol UP or vom DOWN when I connect to the laptop, a red LED pops up, there is a connection sound and after that the red LED goes off and and there is a disconnection sound.
If I leave the phone connected with the computer, the phone gets connected after 2/3 minutes, there is a connection sound and then there is a disconnection sound again . Any clue what I can do :crying::crying:

just a small note or two:
Flashmode the LED should go orange, then blue then off within about 1second then it is in Flashmode
To get into either of these modes the phone has to be powered fully OFF, press the red reset button before charging to make sure, then again just before the above steps.
It sort of sounds like a corrupted loader

Have a good read of this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
It would suggest that the battery is flat. Let it charge in the wall plug for a few hours and see what happens
I have let the phone to charge overnight with the charger that came with the phone. As I said before, with that charger, the red LED would turn on and then go off again. I will hopefully try the Chinese travel charger tonight with which the red LED remains solid.
The funny thing is , the phone had about 80% charge when it died. This is so weird :'(

Have you tried the reset button under the microsd flap? Press and hold for 3 secs.
I did read another user had an issue where the screen blanked for around a day, he left it plugged in and came back to it about 6 hours later and it was fine again.

I tried that and basically all the other normal options. No use. The computer recognises it as a USB Input Device and for a second or two, the red LED comes up. Same thing when I am charging

+1 contact your local sony, i had a similar problem, no fastboot/flashmode. locked bl/not rooted and my led only flashed red and occasionally solid red then nothing. plugging it into computer continuously played the disconnecting sound.
most likely hardbricked.
i also purchased my xzu from a local BST but as long as you have your imei, contact sony and theyll tell you if you have warranty. they required me to send in proof of purchase as well but like most say "play stupid" ( i said i received it as a gift and they said it was fine)
i got a brand new XZU after a week and a half sending it in.

Thank you! One or two years ago my Z Ultra's screen cracked and I got a new phone. Decided to use it again, purchased a new screen and replaced it myself today. When I tried to move to AOSP (had root, bootloader unlocked, backup of TA partition), the phone bricked. No SONY logo, nothing. Did what you said above, Xperia Companion recognized the phone in flashmode and is now downloading the newest stock rom. I was so afraid of a hard brick, that living with latest stock without root doesn't seen so bad now hahaha
Hey Friends, I have exactly the same issue. The red led just flashes up for a couple of seconds and this cycle continues. My battery was a bit swollen up and the back glass cover opened up a bit. Still battery was working fine. Two days ago I tried nougat aosp on it and after leaving it idle for 2 hours, it was bricked. I can enter into flashmode and flashed stock LP as well as KK but it does not boots up. Is it definitely battery's problem? If yes, where can I buy original or near original battery for it?

The battery is dangerous and should be removed. Be careful because the battery can burst into flames if the bloated cell get punctured.
Use tools with caution and take your time.
Lipo cells expands as a first safety trigger. Instead of going strait to venting or venting and burst into flames.
Its a safety feature if they are charged with too high current or if the cell is drained below its 2,22 volts and is brought back to life with a normal charger that puts normal current on the cell. Then even 400mA in this scenario is way too much current to start charging a drained cell with.
But the battery should not be the issue that your phone is not booting. How did you flash stock rom? With Flashtool?
Hello,
This morning my phone went suddenly off, didn't think much of it because it had 20% battery left and thought I had to recharge it but it didn't charge and I couldn't power it on, no LED lights when connected to the charger, no nothing, I tried restarting it in download mode but still nothing, it had a custom rom flashed, this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-ressurrection-remix-m-t3270121
Had cyanogenmod before this but encountered some errors and got this one 1 week ago, it worked fine except random restarts.
Tried a different S3 battery from a friend and still nothing, my battery worked in his, it was 0% but charging although very slow, just 8% in half an hour.
Tried different ways to fix it following these steps from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549068
Before actually going to a service shop and replacing my motherboard I want to know if there is a cheaper way to get it fixed, tried the steps above but with a 2gb card instead of a 16 one, want to try the USB JIG method but I don't know if it will work.
Any information would be appreciated
If the phone doesn't power on at all, a USB jig probably won't help.
I suggest connecting the phone to the original charger or a more powerful charger with the original USB cable for a few hours and see if it will come to life.

Tried the USB jig, but it didn't work, I don't know if the jig was done right because i didn't find pin 4 and 5, only two wires sticking out of it but I found a workaround and still nothing, left it 3 hours with the original charger but still nothing.
I'm really lost here, can a phone just brick/die by itself? it showed some signs before, last 2 weeks with random restarts and some random app's being deleted but besides that it worked fine. The custom rom was Resurrection Remix 6.0.1 so I don't think its galaxy's infamous SDS and the last time it was working it had ~20% battery left and probably restarted itself and never managed to boot. Found some cheap S3's with damaged display but ok motherboards, thinking of buying one and using those or going to a service, maybe they can Jtag it.
A jtag service may be your best bet, depending on the cost because a used replacement such as an s4 maybe a better use of funds.
It seems like it IS a case of SDS. Nand corruption is commonplace and easily done at any time.
Remove the battery and plug the charger in. If no response then the phone is as dead as.
Take it as a sign to upgrade.
Beamed in by telepathy.

Same happened with me some days back.
I had 66% battery left.
I saw the phones notification light blinking. By mistake I clicked the power button for longer than required and the phone vobrated but the light was still blinking.
I then tried turning it on by clicking the power button but nothing happened.
So I thought it might have gone into some kind of worse lag so removed the battery and again plugged it. Tried turning it on, nothing happened. I thought maybe it needs charging so plugged it but nothing happened. The computer does not recognise it either.
It doesn't get turned on and don't charge too.
I was on aosp 5.1.1 and everything was alright until then.

The only thing that fixed it was replacing the motherboard, went to several services and they told me the same thing and on of them replaced my old motherboard with a working one for 19$

Sorry but if it doesn't work with a usb jig and there's no way of booting in download mode and there's no led lights when charging, there was nothing left to do, tried 3 days in a row to bring it back to life, nothing worked.

Thanks for your help. My s3 is really wild. Yesterday i connected it to my pc and kept it connected, after like an hour it turned on by itself. But i found out that many of the things were not working like music could not be played, video's could not be played and became slower than usual. After some time the launcher started refreshing itself(donno why) and finally i removed the battery again. After that it had not booted up till now.
Anothet thing i noticed was that the power button was not working, i had to turn on the screen by pressing the home button.
Anyways thnks for the help [emoji4] .
