As the title says, I'm experiencing a lot of lag with Impossible Game on stock rom XXEMC2, odexed, rooted, with syiah kernel.
Strange thing is that when I dual boot on Slim Bean or Paranoid Android i don't have this problem and the game runs very smoothly. STweaks settings and DPI settings (speaking 'bout PA) are exactly the same. And I don't have this problem on other games (like for example: temple run2, GTA, NOVA and so on) which I thought were "heavier". Also when i boot on stock rom and open the games without waiting 2-3 sec as usual it just runs fine, but if i close and reopen it, it lags.
I've tried everything (almost), like overlocking my GPU (which I know doesn't help so much on 2D games), removing live wallpapers, closing all the processes with a task killer before opening the game, but I've achieved nothing so far, game still lags.
Any of you experiencing the same issue?
Try a full wipe and reinstall?

ALready did, in fact i reflashed stock XXEMC to recover from a soft brick about 2 or 3 times. It used to lag even with stock settings, I only rooted my phone and removed some bloatware, then installed the game and it started to lag
Try MC3 .

It's not a fix, I don't wanna to lose all settings and tweaks to have the same issue. BTW it runs smoothly on GB 2.3.6 with an HTC Wildfire S and on ICS 4.0.4 with a Galaxy Ace GT5830, so that's definetly not the problem.
Maybe you can try to turn on rendering 2d with hardware? It's in developers settings. Or you can also stick with custom rom, usually there are a bunch of tweaks for performance.
Already tried, nothing changed

Hi,
Has anyone else noticed this? When I freeze bloatware in Titanium Backup on a stock Sammy rom, my device begins te lag a lot more than usual. But when I leave all of the bloatware, it's way smoother, is this even possible?

U might have frozen them but the phone still tries to activate them through startup.
Download ES task manager and remove the start up of the bloat you froze and then reboot the phone.
What apps have you frozen?

You catch my drift, I guess. Just basic stuff I don't ever use. I've got the same effect when I just disable them in Applications manager.
Also, I flashed LL5 recently and I didn't disable anything at all, runs smoother now but I do notice some lags sometimes as I run out of ram.

Added it now, XDA-app was acting funky.
Hmmmm I'd suggest downloading one of the de-bloat mods or using a custom rom such as WanamLite or Omega with bloatware removed or Foxhound Essentials (Skinny rom) or Hyperlight. Any rom can be stripped of fat but some do it easier. Hyperlight is only 230mb in size where as most roms are around 800mb although I found this version of hyperlight to be a bit laggy at times. I used to find WanamLite laggy at times but this current version (in my sig) and without all the crapsung apps runs so smooth. .
If you want to squeeze in a bit more ram, use Perseus kernel which raises the limit to 856mb of ram compared to your 832. Don't worry if you get to down to around 120mb free, just means apps you use are in ram. If you see apps you never use being cached in ram then use an app like Autostarts to disable them from loading at boot or just freeze them totally

No offence to the hard working developers and all, but I've tried about 2 dozen of 3rd party roms / custom roms so far and yet, I haven't seen any rom that doesn't lag at all and I always keep getting back to stock Sammy rom.
Right now I'm on stock 4.1.2 with stock everything and no apps disabled or whatsoever and it runs like a motherf*cking train.
Okay, ram usage is at ~100-150 MBs free, but seems to be waaaay smoother than stock rom with disabled apps or debloated. Don't know why though.
Anyways, thanks for your help and for the replies!

So how the hell does she get smooth playing flash video from this TV site: http://www.navidiku.rs/tv-uzivo/tv-pink
While i have to overclock my phone to 1800Mhz to make it bearlly smooth...HOW is that possible???
I checked she had flash player 10.3.186.3 and i downloaded and installed that one but its the same thing...:/ i had Flash 11 before.
I can play Youtube video 360p smooth and around 1400Mhz 480p smooth. And phone is overall very snappy and fast, i mean i can play N64 games smooth, like Extreme G 2 for example...
So why is mine phone choppy while her is running smooth on stock 1000Mhz...?
1400...1800MHz are you serious.... :what:
You should not overclock your phone to such high frequency... It will burn down your CPU...

I did not do any adittional tweaks, also, only apps that are running in the background are Settings and Lg keyboard, because i kill all the running apps when i reboot my phone to free all the RAM.
Also, as far as i know, you can overclock your phone as long as it doesn't overheat... But still, that's why i want to make it go smooth, i want to make overclocking less needed...
Looking at the kernel thread it appears to be quite old, try using the CM7 Kernel instead, make some tweaks and see how that goes.

Just to be clear, killing some apps in ram manually is not, efficient; it may really affect the performance (many topics/debates already out there). Try testing it with uninstalled apps (clean rom with minimal needed apps). And I agree many other factors may still affect it(scripts, tweaks, etc).
K thx. I will try out some other ROMs and kernels...hope to find something similar to CyanogenMod...I cant use kernel provided with ROM because phone is then loaded with bugs (no second speaker, camera freezing, touchscreen problems...etc) because fix for these only works on Rage kernel.
The way my GP 4.0 works is odd...It's as if after every reboot, the player has a certain amount of fuel (and no I'm not referring to the battery). After usage, that fuel gets burned down and the player starts running sluggishly and eventually either freezes up and forces me to do a forced shut down or it reboots itself. I usually can't keep the thing on without a reboot for longer than 3 days. It's not a major issue, but it makes playing games rough because sometimes in the middle of a game, the player just freezes up and reboots. The battery typically never goes beyond 100 degrees F, unless I'm in a hot car or something.
Anyone else got this problem? Any suggestions? I've heard of something called Lagfix that does something like trimming or something of the sort...Yeah, noob here. Would that fix me up? Running gingerbread 2.3.5 stock rom and kernel.

try a factory reset and dont install anything after.
if it doesnt seem to hang, reinstall your apps slowly, one by one to see which one is causing the problem
Your player is using to much ram so it's going to restart. Use the task manager to kill any app you aren't using.

2 problems with that. 1. in the task manager, no tasks are seen running. I almost always have around 70 mb of ram free no matter what. 2. if I use a task killer (such as advanced task killer), I can kill apps that are running (such as the ebay app...Not sure why that even runs in background), but they come back on within seconds....do I just need to uninstall apps?
I will suggest you try using advance task manager to monitor your applications, rather then the system's task manager.

But when I kill a task in advanced task killer to kill unwanted running apps, they come back on after like 5 seconds. However, these are apps that I'd like to have installed, such as ebay, weather, and youtube. Do you suggest just uninstalling as many as possible?
I would do a complete reset and then slowly install your apps. This way u can see what is causing the problem.

Are you using a custom rom? You shouldn't have 70mb all the time. You should have at least 162mb when it just starts booting up, and then 100mb- 120mb when using it. ADW Launcher is kinda heavy on memory. Try Holo Launcher or one that doesn't use a ton of ram. I remember on mine it was Go Launcher using too much ram, and it was causing it to stutter. Also I suggest uninstall (or just doing a complete restore) some of the apps. Our players suck with managing ram imo lol.

Stock rom and stock kernel. Would custom ones be better?
I do get the around 160 mb of ram when booting up. Actually, I do have around 90 mb of ram available after the boot up. Well, the thing is, is that adwlauncher has almost made it all better. It just runs so much smoother than touchwiz and i like it a lot. However, I can try another I suppose. Well that sucks. Should I start using a task killer and having it auto kill or something? I mean I don't really wanna uninstall youtube, or ebay, but I guess I could uninstall some other stuff.
Okay, so last night I uninstalled some apps that according to advanced task killer were running in the background. I've also uninstalled Lookout just to free up some more ram. now I get about 90-100 mb of ram when idle, and things are working all right for now. I'll report how it performs after a day or two...It's just a shame that the galaxy player has so little ram that I'm forced to uninstall some apps that won't even give me the option to stop them from running the background.

Custom Kernels, and roms help the player a lot imo. I would at least flash a custom kernel, because it boots the total ram from 342 to 352mb. Yeah I think that since you have a lot of apps installed it is bogging down the player. Uninstall the apps you don't need, or rarely use. I know I wished samsung would have properly upgraded our players. Instead we got the 3.6, and 4.2 which do some things better, but other things worse. They made the 5.8 but to me it's not worth the money.

Okay so unfortunately, I just got another crash/reboot. I was playing Draw something with my sister when suddenly it began to hang for about 4 seconds and then just reboot. This is the normal crash I used to get, and always get after about 3 days of having the thing on and using it. I had plenty of open ram when this happened. before I opened draw something, I had about 100 mb of ram.
Uninstalling apps has cut down on the amount of lag and hangs I get, but I still get this stupid reboot deal after a while...Is there any way to make this stop? I mean I could just do a factory reset, but I almost don't even think it's worth having to redo everything just to fix rebooting once every 2 or 3 days.

If your galaxy player is rooted I would try installing a custom kernel and see what happens. Because 1) It gives you the ability to overclock to 1.2 ghz (If you buy tegrak or set cpu you can overclock to 1.3 or even 1.5ghz). This helps with lag and memory issues from my experience, and 2) You can make a backup of your files on your device using ClockWorkMod, so you don't have to redo everything if factory resetting doesn't work.
But most likely I think you are going to have to just do a factory reset. Usually that fixes the memory problem since it resets everything on the player. But be warned flashing kernels and roms does void your warranty and can mess up your player if not done right. However, there's tons of tutorials on how to do it. If you like it stock, , iJimaniac has made a custom rom called R.E.D.D it uses the stock kernel with a modified version of the stock rom.
Also do you mind taking a screenshot or picture of your taskmanger and apps?

It is indeed rooted. However, can't I already overclock to 1.2 ghz? I mean I have tegrak and it lets me overclock to that already. I don't even mind the CPU speed now, it's just the random reboots I get that bother me. And if it needs to be said, I really cannot remember if my player has always done this...
So unless flashing a kernel or rom is actually gonna make my player run smoother (I've heard that stock stuff runs smoothest because it's made for that specific device), I don't really see a need to do it. I'm perfectly fine with the way it is stock...Just not fine with the occasional bits of lag I get (temple run is basically not playable on my player, because even the slightest hang will screw you up) and the stupid reboots.
Sure. You want a screenshot of advanced task killer open (showing all the apps that are currently running)? As for apps, how do you want me to get a picture of all those? It'd take several pictures because I'd have to scroll through the apps list and take multiple pictures.

Hi, are now few days that my Samsung S3 in signature has became too slow.
Many times lags when i call a program and then another.
I'm sure that it is not doing apps updates when slowing.
Further my phone is rooted and is overclocked.
Do you know some suggestion?
Which app can i use to test its performance?
Thank you for your attention! !

I would put a stock based ROM on fone such as neatrom. Don't over clock and no custom kernel. Stock kernel is more stable. Hope that helps
---------- Post added at 09:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:19 PM ----------
Or put a 4.4.2 ROM on your phone for fast speed without need to overclock
Thank you for reply.
I'm looking for something to test or solve my issue. I tried through Cleanmaster app and i cleaned many useless data in my phone. I have a doubt if my issues started when i tried Directory Bind app.
Until about one month ago my stock fw worked fine then i noticed lags, etc.
Today in the morning or sometimes my phone comes to work fine but i noticed for example that when the phone searches cell data network it slows much.
I think that the cause is the memory available that is always only less than 10%.
That i don't understand is that until few time ago my memory was not a problem and was sufficient and system phone worked properly, now not yet.
For now i prefer not to change the rom because i know well this i have installed and i have a good familiarity finding everything in menus fastly...a time ago fastly...

I'd update to 4.3 if I were you using a custom rom. Once done. If you have chosen a stock based 4.3 ROM. Tap on builder number 7 times in settings/ about phone. You will see a new thing called developers options go into that and scroll down to background processes change it to 4 and your phone won't lag.
Ok. But in this case don't I force the closing of apps? And the forced closing doesn't deactive some useful app that is better to stay in memory (i.e. Facebook, Whatsapp, Viber, Skype, etc.)?
When you say to change to 4 value you mean the active processes? True?
I have not been prone to install custom roms because i prefer i.e. S-Voice feature with double tap of my home button and i think that lags and others issues often are caused by installed apps.
It would be better first to find what to slow the system and then to consider the o.s. replacement.

try disabling the bloatware and uninstalling the useless apps? When I just got my S3, I installed all the messaging apps - Whatsapp, WeChat, Line etc as many of my friends are using those. It caused severe lag and battery drain.
Sounds like you maybe have a virus/malware? Btw CleanMaster is the biggest scam. It only clears certain things and it runs more background processes than it saves.
Hope this helps,

I have already uninstalled and freezed many preinstalled apps through Titanium.
But anyway i think to have too apps installed into phone. But i have always had these too apps.
I changed the Kernel to Siyah because stock Kernel caused lags and i.e intelligent stand-by sensor came back to work only when i installed the Siyah.
Since few days i have again the same issue but now with Siyah Kernel..
@aarongillion63
I installed Avg antivirus and now instead i have CM Security. The system seems cleaned about viruses.
I installed Clean Master and for me that i don't know where i can free space in phone the app has been a godsend...
Now i can see processes in memory but i.e. if i want to uninstall or freeze Google Play Services then the system asks me to reload it.
I read somewhere if you try to remove processes or uninstall apps anyway the system will load each others to fill ram memory..

S3 slow or restarts and turns off unexpectedly
I tried to do a deep clean (not the most deep) and then to install 4.3 stock firmware but although the lags has gone away i still have some restarts or unexpected turns off of phone.
Sometimes i note for example that the sounds of keybord even if i disabled they come back!
Or when i use S-Voice app through double press home button the audio feedback comes back active although i deactived it!
i add that i restored some app and data by Titanium Backup..
As the title says, my games are closing itself after some time. This is happening for about 4 months now. I tried flashing few different ROMs (I did hard-reset each time, completely wiping internal storage), and tried flashing few different kernels, but the problem still appears. It's not issue with RAM because I'm monitoring RAM when it happens, it always has ~100MB free.
I'm currently running Resurrection Remix LP v5.5.9 ROM with ArchiKernel v3.0.31. I don't know anymore what may cause the problem, I tried everything to fix it, but it still appears. Problem wasn't appearing before, but now it is in almost every game. Every other app or while outside the games, everything works smoothly like fresh factory reset was performed. Classic Oom behaviour. Even though you think it isnt ram related you'll probably find oom errors in logcat.
S3 i9300 doesn't cope with any os higher than jellybean. Hence why samsung never issued one.
If you encounter these issues on a jellybean rom then the rom is rubbish.
