As per the topic, anyone have the same experience? Tips? Is it time to go back to O2 and say "Get this fixed suckas!"
What's your thoughts? All I was doing when it nose dived was checking my settings and scrolling through home screens. Been having this problem for a few weeks that I've noticed.
Thanks in advance.
That happens to me too and also once it was on 30% I used my phone and then it quickly went to 5% and then 0%. Some weird stuff right there.

Yeah, think I might get in touch with O2...because this can't be normal behaviour.

For some reason I never thought of it as an issue. I felt like all smartphones acted that way when their percentage got low.
Never had it on my One X or my Desire HD. Whilst I realise battery life will lower quicker as the battery level drops losing the last ~15% in less than 10 minutes when I'm not taxing it is pretty ridiculous, IMO

Yes i have noticed this on my gs3 unrooted. But it has to be 20% or below and have noticed it does get warm. Tried factory reset no luck.

If it was an issue with all phones I wouldn't have been able to get 30 minutes of use, listening to music, on 4% battery during several journeys home before I started having this issue!

Every day my HTC AMAZE 4g keeps shutting down multiple times a day, is there a fix or should I request another one from T-Mobile?

I'm having the same issue. 4-5 times a day it'll just shut down and then take it's sweet time rebooting. Im rooted running stock 2.3.4 trying to upgrade to ICS which kind of tumbles into another issue. I'm trying to do the update to ICS via the OTA update and when it powers down it just boots into the Bootloader screen. My status for my bootloader shows <RELOCKED> followed by <SECURITY WARNING>.
If anyone could shed a little insight that'd be aces.
The random reboot issue seems to be battery related from what others have stated.

I can confirm this. I called t-mo and they basically told me that I'm SOL on a battery replacement. So, I got the Anker 2 pack on Amazon for 30 bucks, and I haven't had a reboot since.
Had the same issue. Called HTC tech support bypassing T-Mobile since I use a different carrier. HTC sent me a replacement battery.

I guess I should call HTC as well. I thought about calling them, but the Anker has a big better so I didn't mind plopping down 30 for 2 batteries.

this sounds like a recall-type of deal here. i'm having the same issues with my oem battery. called htc the other day, and they wanted my cc info to replace the battery. i'd still have to pay for shipping the old one back to them. will try calling again, and see if i can get one for free lol

same thing with mine. went through 2 amaze 4g's and 5 batteries in 2 months. I end up buying a new battery once every 2 weeks.
One thing i know that WILL kill my battery is if i plug it into the outlet on an amtrak train. Every time i exit the train, its dead. Learned that the hard way.
I also keep the rubber case that came with it off. It happens less and less that way. I think it's overheating, since it was very hot out each time.
Hello guys,
I've also about the same problem, My Amaze is Asian version with JuopunutBear S-OFF and ICS Speed Rom installed.
The problem with my phone is that while its charging or in use, it doesn't shut down, but when idle for some time with no music application running in background, it shut down.
then it doesn't turn on unless you pull the battery for a while and re insert it,
Can anyone plz tell me what's the issue, is it battery or some culprit application?
Thanks
I had the same issue on my phone. It was due to the kernel issue .I flashed super wipe once & flashed backup again . Now my battery is ok & I found no rendom shutdowns anymore . try this if it helps you.
Using stock rom 4.0.3 s-off Rooted.
HTC Amaze 4G.

which kernal you're using now??
I used to had the same issue. Tried updating Android using stock, changing the ROM to a custom one (CM, Energizer, etc.), changing the kernel. nothing seemed to help. In the meantime, I bought a battery from eBay. Took about 3,5 to 4 months to arrive (yeah, **** me, I'm from Argentina). I put it on and VOILÀ. Holy solution.
It is an Anker one, so it has more capacity also
I m using faux kernel v. 31

we all know that the battery life is crap on the amaze. It's no surprise. What I've been wondering since is why? why is it such a battery hog. In terms of CPU and ram, it's only slightly higher than the sensation and the sensation has a great battery life. I know the sensation and Amaze are completely different phones and hardware is completely different, but what makes the amaze have such a bad battery life? anyone ever able to figure this out?

Might be the kernel, extra horsepower, less optimizations than the sensation?
I always assumed it was the absolutely stunning screen that did it.

It's the display, it uses too much power and heats up too quickly, which uses more energy than it should, that's just imo though.

The display for sure since we're rockin' that qHD, now had it been a Super Amoled - it'll make a big difference in terms of power usage. I've set my display to the lowest (helps out battery drainage most of the time) and i've also downloaded JuiceDefender (works great).

with the emerging on aosp roms, we can tweak the voltage that certain parts of hardware get. you never know, this phone might have had a code problem like the gs3 where they accidentally set the voltage too high and the phones battery died like crazy

You need a real charger. Not a micro usb. Either that or you need a new battery. Roms are not the cause of bad battery.

Get a new battery first let it calibrate itself after a few recharge decharge cycles and then report back. The amaze has some bad batteries that HTC will replace and or T-Mobile also.

Hello.
First, I would like to intodruce my self.
My name is James, and I live in The Netherlands.
I have been using my one X+ now for a while and I am pretty statisfied.
However the phone is starting to shows some failures.
During charging, either the phone or charger, gets very hot but doesn't charge.
I have tried couple of chargers, as well as the charger for the Lumia 920.
But that one doesn't seem to work anymore as the charger itself is getting very hot, but doesn't charge the phone. Not even giving the symbol that it is trying to charge.
This was my last resource, so I really need some help!
Please help.
The phone is completely stock.
Running on android 4.1.1.
Kernel 3.1.10***<lot of extra that I don't think is important.
