[Q] cm 10.1 - HTC Desire X

I just bought Desire X and I have some developing experience so I wanted to give it a try. Before I start I have a few questions:
1. Is there any work started, any github I can visit, anyone I can contact about this?
2. Are there sources for this SoC? On my previous phone (S3 Mini) ST - Ericsson decided not to let us have sources, we had "stable" CM, but without HW

hey there, good to know we got another experienced developer a developer named atis112 started work on CM9 but then we got a Jelly Bean update so he's now working on CM10.1. This is the thread here and his gitub is on it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2194509

That's great @AKA_Noodle. I used to own the Galaxy i9003 and have experience in testing ROMs, customizing, boat ware removal etc. for 10 months. I have just bought a Desire V yesterday and this is my first HTC. I am getting to know the difference.
I have followed your post and am going to ROOT the phone in a couple of days. I am giving my stock 7 days for the just in case hardware issues with my handset. Post that I will unlock the bootloader and free my device. I am ready for testing and development.
And by the way,
Congratulations to all. We finally have a dedicated thread for our phone.
Thanks @AKA_Noodle, i use the European Rom, great
Guys,
I don't own this device, but I'm interested in developing for it.
I believe I could try to port a ROM or two from the desire X to this device, if anyone would test it.
The only thing I need to know is: do you guys have android 4.0.4 or 4.0.3?

Thanks. I hope that little difference doesn't affect the ROM.
I don't have time in this week, but I'll try to get you guys a ROM next week.

I'm interested with HTC Desire V Rom Development. And I will first make CM10, then MIUI, etc. I'm following the tutorials at XDA.
Finally i have device tree ready for HTC DESIRE V The next task is to download sources for CM9 ( takes a hell lot of time :/ ) and start working on it, hopefully with community's help, it will be completed
i will be uploading the device tree soon, so anyone can help me building it..
I'm waiting for that CM9, because all other ROMs I tried are disappointing. I posted here earlier a version for Baidu ROM but turns out that was also buggish.
So, please someone make a Cyanogenmod for this phone.
yeah... please develop a CM9/10 version for this dual sim phone ///
Until today, i still can't find an easy way to root my device. LOL!

I did some snooping - it turns out that it's buggish because we are using the nightly builds version of the Baidu . The official version is V4:

I know, but my version was from that stable one, which is based on version 27. Still it had some "things" because for Baidu stable not means final, it's a project in developement. I guess, if no one develop a CM for our device we'll have to wait for some final Baidu.
One other thing is that they develop Baidu to integrate with their service (let's not forget that Baidu is Google for China), and it will be more suitable to users from China .
Too bad that HTC couldn't release a ROM without bugs. Baidu, even in beta, didn't restart my phone randomly like HTC rom did (stock version too), and I have a friend with Wildfire stock, unrooted, untouched which do the same. Maybe it is something with HTC rom platform, I don't know.
I don't think it is hardware, because if it was, Baidu would restart too.
For developement
I just finished to try every single open source of android to make a new build for this phone and my conclusion is not good.
HTC announced that this phone will not get JellyBean - understandable 1 single core processor, 512 MB Ram, not enough.
That will be a huge obstacle in order to get Paranoid, PAC or Slimbean to this phone - they mentain those sources now only for jellybean. Or for jellybean, we need a new kernel to support that. And even so, we can not know if it will work - poor phone specs.
Cyanogenmod doesn't support DualSim, and I bought this phone for that function only.
MIUI doesn't support DualSim either - I know there are a lot of dualsim phones with MIUI, but these are ported not compiled from source - and MIUI source isn't public (what they have on github is a patch tool, wich doesn't work very well, especially with HTC phones which are more difficult).
LewaOS has a source open on github, but is only for Gingerbread - if they upgrade this it will be our best alternative, because LewaOS is a very stable, fast and reliable ROM, and works well even in low specs phones. Baidu ROM seems to be at the begining some port of LewaOS (I still found some mediatek references in baidu, and mediatek is the main processor for Lewa).
So, we're stuck with Sense...

None, it's a hardware issue. I took it to a service shop and then I sold it and never bought a HTC again.

[Q] Linux kernel 3.0.xx on xperia 2011?

First, if this thread should be in general can someone move it pls.
Now to my question. I know that for example the samsung galaxy s has a similar hw as our phones and can have the new kernel, but i never saw a kernel for our phones higher than 2.6. Does anybody know if we can or cant(and why) use the new version cause it has a better security system
Some developers are working on a 3.0 kernel and there are already some threads about that
Sent from my Nexus 7 running Android 4.2.1
Porting kernel is not a simple task. Fxp team whom currently working on the project to bring kernel 3.x to xperia 2011 gen said it would take atleast six months, or would take forever ie it would never come to our phone.
is it really necessary?
Do we really need kernel 3.0 on our devices?
because I have read here and they say its almost same as old kernel "OR SAME AS OLD KERNEL "

[Q] CM10.1 Support present ?

HI guys I am user and developer from Sony2011 forums.
I was going to buy a Desire X today but then decided to check for it support on xda.
As i love to use PA or PAC-man. I wanted to ask does this device has CM10.1 support ?
I was unable to locate the sources at Cyanogen's github.
If not whats the last Cyanogen version that this phone got ?
Also is the kernel source by HTC released for this device ?
I hope some one answers my questions soon.
I am getting this phone at quite cheap price. So I am tempted to buy it.

1) A great developer we have here, TheAndroidManual, was able to boot PA in his Desire X so I guess soon we will have it available (his gonna upload a video tomorrow).
2) Another great developer, atis112, released 2 alpha builds of CM9 but he stopped his work because some countries already have 4.1.1 available and he's waiting for HTC to release the kernel source so he can work in CM10.
3) Yes, for ICS there's kernel source available in here: http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
Meanwhile, in my opinion, this is a great device, well built and with a amazing display so I'd recommend you to buy it!
Have a great day
So this device isn't officially supported by CM.
Is the soff available ??
I will search more on it as I have never owned a HTC before so don't know what actually soff means
If some one knows a proper page explaining it plz provide links.
If I buy this device I will try my best to get the CM10.1 and PA and PAC to this device.
Its my exmas days so don't have much time to go through the whole forum that's the reason I posted this.
Thanks for your replies guys

First of all, no this device doesn't have those fancy roms cuz our dev community is small. But still many people are working on them and you may find them anytime.
Well, we dont have cm10.1 support cuz the device tree's are not present. Already atis is working on it.
CM9 is the most stable we have.
Yes kernel sources are released for 3.0 kernel but 3.4 sources are pending.
My say, buy it.

[Q] building CM10.1 if CM10 availabe

Hey,
Can anyone tell me if how to build CM10.1 for the new device if it has already 100% working CM10?
Please give me some tips or link to any tutorial about merging branch from CM10 to CM10.1.
Please give me anything I can start with. This is the last year I can spend time on learning android developement so I would like to start working with source

i9100 CM11

Hi there guys.
Is there anyone working on CM11 for now ? I can't find any info on CM site about i9100 (I believe it should work flawlessly as google wants to support older phones).
Just let me now, please !
Cheers
the guys from the team of CM now versed in the system, because there are many things requiring adaptation. So wait for CM 11 I think is closer to the new year
Here you go.. But it's still in testing stages.. You could test and report to the developer for its development..

You can use OmniRom instead. I used CM 7, 9, and 10, with a Galaxy S1 and then S2. I recently switched to OmniRom because they had a working KitKat rom. Basically a group split off from CM after it became a company, and that group is called OmniRom. CM's i9100 development has all but stopped, but the OmniRom have KitKat rom nightiles that are quite stable. I'm using as my daily driver, and all features work. My phone is faster that it was on CM10.2.
OmniRom:

Download for i9100:

XDA Forum thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2562055
Nightly Changelog:
https://changelog.omnirom.org/#/i9100/next
Note: As per the XDA thread, you need SuperSU and GApps. Please use Paranoid Android's GApps modular mini. The full one didn't work for me, and others have said the same.
The only bugs I'm having with OmniRom are:
(1) Automatic time zone (set it manualy)
(2) The OpenDelta over the air updater doesn't work properly yet.
Jira bug tracker:

Good luck.

Problems to execute Cm11 on my s2
Hello, I wonder if any Modder or Dev could help me.
I have a Galaxy s2 I9100 stopped there two years, and recently tried to install Cm11 him, and when I start the phone it loads the bootloader Cyanogem Mod, and then a message "Shutting Down Power Off" appears.
I tried using other versions as Slim Know, Paranoid, Pac Rom, etc ... and all the same thing happen. I decided to go back to official samsung 4.1.2 rom, it worked okay, but the phone does not load, an error appears stating that the phone battery with this high temperature, but the phone does not heat up, it is normal temperature coma.
I took the phone in technical assistance, which found that the problem is in the motherboard. I wonder if any Modder or Dev could help me on how to disable it in CM11 rom, or which file responsible for turning off the phone in case of failures. Thanks in advance
(Sorry for my bad english)
Handwriting to text
Hey
I was just wondering if cm11 has a handwriting to text feature.? I can't seem to find it, if it has it.
