[Q] JB Question - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have 4.0.4 on my s2
PDA : 1900BOLPM
PHONE : 1900BOLP7
CSC : 1900TNLLP8
How can i install GT-I9100-CNX-I9100XWLSD and is it safe/will it still be network unlocked ?
PS. I have the brickbug and am not rooted.
Thanks

Good to see u know about the brickbug.
Just flash the stock firmware via Odin. Don't do a factory reset before flashing!
After flashing, if u encounter bootloop or crashing issues, do a factory reset while on JB.
As for getting locked, try flashing an unbranded stock firmware. If it still gets locked, root ur phone and use GalaxSim Unlock app.

So , there is no problem if i flash a unbranded rom even if the phone's is branded with tnl csc ?
Thanks for the reply.

No one can say for sure.
Are u carrier locked now? If yes, see if there is a version for that carrier on sammobile.com.

The phone has a tnl csc but i use it on vodafone romania , so i guess it's unlocked.
Is it ok if i install this rom ? I9100XWLSN_I9100OXXLS8_NEE

[Q] Downgrade Samsung Galaxy S2 from Jelly Bean 4.1.2 to ICS 4.0.4

Hi, I recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 from Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.4) to Jelly Bean (4.1.2). I have been using the new OS version for a while now and don't like some of the changes that Samsung have implemented. So I was wondering if there is a way of downgrading the OS back to ICS 4.0.4 (the latest official release). Is there a way to select a custom version in Kies and simply update that way? Or am I stuck with Jelly Bean and will just have to adjust to the changes

Also read about 'eMMC Brickbug' issue on 4.0.4.
And don't forget to take an EFS backup too!!

[Q] [SOLVED] Galaxy stuck on logo screen

- SOLVED - (Thanks to immortalneo )
Hello, noob here D:
Here's the story.. I recently got a Galaxy S2 i9100. It's updated to the 4.1.2 thingy.
Tried to root it, used odin and CF-ROOT v5.5 in the process. Odin said it was OK but I got stuck on the yellow triangle.
Found a guide, guide said to install Stock Rom.. so I did. (Stock rom is I9100XWLPU_I9100XXLQ6_I9100XEZLP3_HOME.tar )
Now there's no yellow triangle but it's stuck on the flashy S screen.
I never had a smartphone, and I don't understand most of the words people use here (mainly that 'flash it' thing xD )
I tried to look for a post or anything to solve this but kinda failed..
Help?
What you have is called a 'bootloop' mate.. it can be sorted out.
Which android version do u have now? Its 4.0.4 right? 4.0.4 is subject to risk of eMMC Brickbug.
So, I suggest you download another stock firmware (other than 4.0.4) and flash it via Odin.

Yes, simply download a 4.1.2 firmware for ur region from sammobile.com and flash via Odin.

I don't think you will have any problems, as both models are almost identical, except in their network connectivity.

I cannot say because I haven't tried that myself.
It is upto you. Flashing or rooting always carries a small risk of messing up ur device. That's what makes it so much exciting!
You can however make backups of ur apps and data before attempting anything. Or if u root ur phone, u can make a nandroid backup too.

If u want ur warranty:
- u have to reset ur binary counter
- have a stock firmware
To reset ur binary counter, u need to be rooted. And you have to use Triangle Away app.
I recommend you follow these steps:
Since u are on JB now, root it using Philz kernel and then use Triangle away app to reset ur counter.
Then, do a factory reset and flash stock JB again.

Since u are on JB now, root it using Philz kernel and then use Triangle away app to reset ur counter.
Then, do a factory reset and flash stock JB again.

Philz kernel:

Look up ur 'Build version' and find the matching latest philz kernel.
Then u can use odin to flash the kernel to get root.
