Hey guys I have burned my mUSB port by connecting some chinese charger. I have read the forums but found nothing that could help me.
Symptoms: no reaction from pc and phone when I plug in the cable, charging is too slow.
How to fix:
1. Take a multimeter and check whether there is a short circuit between all contacts in USB cable.
2. If there is a short circuit beetwen data+/- and ground you have to remove the folowing IC
this IC is burned when +5V are connected to data+/- contact and give the symptoms not connected to PC.
This solution only worked for me, do at your own risk!
UP! This is usefull
Isn`t it IC PM7250?
Remember time, when I was forced to resolder it
Its fsusb30
Low-Power, Two-Port, High-Speed USB 2.0 (480Mbps) Switch
Hi,
Someone stepped on my USB cable when it was charging and bent/broke the USB end of the cable (not the end connected directly to my prime), the wires are loose and i'm trying to solder the wires to another USB cable that was lying around.
However i have not succeeded in making this work, probably because im connecting the cables wrong.
Can anyone tell me which wires are supposed to connect to what colours of the usb cable? They're 5 wires in a ASUS USB cable, but 4 in a regular USB cable and not all colours are the same...
Thank you!
Well the Asus cable is a USB 3.0 I believe since it uses up to 15 volts, which means you need another USB 3.0 end to connect to. Other than that I am unsure about the matching of the wires.
I recently got an MHL HDMI adapter and realize there's a bad contact in my usb port, when I move the wire, the HDMI keeps getting connected/disconnected. As I understand, there's more pins than a normal usb plug in a S3 to support HDMI. I wonder if replacing the USB port would fix my HDMI problem or if it would most likely get it worst ?
Thank,
Kris

Hi mates,
As the title says.... is my S3's Micro-Usb Port faulty?
Coz it sure looks like that...
symptoms : :silly:
i am able to charge my S3 only through my old Samsung charger that came with the phone.
and am able to connect the phone via usb through a particular usb cable only....
other usb cable's and charger just don't seem to work
any suggestions?????
Hello guys, i meet some problem in charging. So i have 'blue' usb charging cable. But when i connect to my mido there's not charging (now), yesterday it's just okay. But when i connect that's to another phone it's just ok and charging.
I have try another usb cable to my mido and it's working. So i think (now) my phone doesn't compatible with that's 'blue' usb charging cable. It's there any solution? Now i'm using Resurrection Remix os.
Just ditch the one that's not working for the USB cable that is working. Not all USB cables are of the same spec or quality.
If this new cable stops working too, it could be a charging port issue. Maybe the port is loose and needs to be replaced, or got fried somehow. Or maybe the port needs to be cleaned.
