TWRP 2.5 - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

I've read of some issues with TWRP 2.5 flashing new mods when using ViperLTE. How can I revert back to an earlier version if this should become an issue for me? Does anybody have a link for an earlier version that is still trouble free? I can only find 2.5...Thanks.

When you move between different recovery versions, you aren't "upgrading" or "downgrading". You simply replace the old with the new. There is a link in the main TWRP thread to the fireball page at teamw.in. Older versions can be found there.

What's the easiest way to replace it? I downloaded the .img file for 2.3. Do I have to use my computer or is there a method using just my phone?

There are multiple ways to install a recovery, all of them are are in TWRP original post under development. If you have any questions just pm me. I'll help as much as possible

The issue is NOT the recovery build.
I flashed Venom with TWRP 2.5.0.0 just fine.

Are any of the TB Clockwork recoveries for stock 2.2?

Good morning everyone:
So as of last night, my TB now is fully rooted with Clockwork recovery, but all of the available recoveries are 3.x and I'm not sure if any of them are intended for backing up 2.2. Does anyone know if any of the earlier 3.x available recoveries will work backing up my newly rooted stock rom?
Secondly, if the answer is a confirmed 'no', is there a possibility to get this accomplished by flashing an alternate recovery such as Amon Ra?
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk
Nvm on the second question, I just noticed there are no alternate recoveries available in Rom Manager...
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk
The 3.x is the version of the recovery, not the OS version it supports. Your good to go as far as compatibility.
Interesting because on other HTC phones the orange recovery only works with 2.3 roms... Anyone been able to successfully back up stock TB rom using orange CLockwork recovery?

on the incredible the 3x cwm just allowed for increased features for CM7... cwm 3.0.0.8 fixed the bugs people were having with restoring cwm 2.x back ups ... 3.x is all thre will ever be for the tbolt... its still in its early stages but its coming along nicely... the new version allows use of the home button to select instead of the power button... haven't tried

I was able to make a backup of the stock rom last night. I read in another thread that backups don't restore though, but I haven't tried yet so I don't know if that's true.

Not true
The new clockwork uses the intended update script called edify that made amend (old update script) useless
We on xda kept the old update script due to it being Easyer to write. Now our beloved koush is forcing us to update to the new update script so that's why cwm 3 was born
Hate it or love it your stuck with it untilled we get amon_ra

Which CWM isn't broken?

I was wondering which version of CWM recovery is everyone using? The threads don't really answer the question and it seems people arnt sure which version to use. So if anyone has the answer, please post and give a link. Almost all CWM recoveries I have used are broken. Either in part or totally.

I just flashed 3.0.2.8 V2 from navenrobs ext4 formatter thread. Seems to work welk with OTB 1.5 kernel. Backup, restore and wiping all work. I havnt tried adb yet.

[Q] Questions about recovery

1. I was in rom manager earlier and noticed it says I have both CWM and TWRP installed. I remember installing project freegee w/CWM but not TWRP. Is this an error? If so, is it an issue?
2. I'm seeing something about CWMtouch or whatever. I just installed what came with freegee. I'm not quite sure how to use adb for the updater script. Is it necessary that I install this? Is freegee using a way outdated version?
Thanks in advance.

You need to upgrade to a new recovery. The one that came with free gee is broken, so any backups you made with it are no good. I personally use sk8's recoveries, but TWRP is good to go too.

I don't use rom manager, but I'm pretty certain you can only have one recovery. Also, the updater script isn't needed either.
Someone will jump in here with more info.

WiFi broken and can't read SIM after flashing virtuous rom?

To add into relations to my other post the reason I had to restir is cause the Virtuous Rom booted and WiFi woild not toggle on and keeps saying insert SIM.
??
I was only trying to install a good stable gsm Rom that would initially work well with apn settings seeing as I use the droid DNA UNLOCKED on T-Mobile.
I can't figure a way to keep the apn settings set after a reboot they default
So I read flashing a global gsm Rom will auto save the apns and theyll stick.
Any insight? Any good Roms that will do this for T-Mobile
And any reason or known reason on the re insert SIM issue after flashing a Rom
this is a noted problem from what I've read ,but with no Straight forward reason or solution.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Well the Wifi not working is cuz you didn't flash the kernel properly.
And for the sim error, that's just a problem with the dna. Re seat it and it should be fine.

Kernel ? Well wherws the kernel I just flashed the Rom there wasn't any link to a kernel

There should be a link or instructions somewhere in the rom thread.

When you unzip the file there should be a boot.img file you will need to flash in fastboot. the command is fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then once you do that, boot into recovery and reflash the rom. Wifi should work.
According to both Verizon and HTC, there was a known issue with the phone software and not being able to read the SIM card. It happened to mine about ten times every week until an update was released to supposedly fix it in February. I still get the error from time to time, but far less than I did previously. If you've rooted and flashed a ROM prior to February, I would suggest making a backup and restoring the phone back to stock. Once you've done this, do the update to the new firmware and then reroot and restore from your backup. This should, I think, fix most SIM issues.

Trying to flash CM 11

So I managed to S-OFF and root my droid dna along with getting clockwork mod installed and I wanted to get the nightlies CM 11 to get android 4.4. I was about to write a new thread because I thought I was stuck on recovery when rebooting, but I am currently restoring my phone from the backup I was told to make (thank god ) but I need to know how how to push the cm 11 file with adb into the internal storage. I need someone to help me with basic instructions on pushing the cm 11 into /sdcard so I can flash it.
You can either sideload the Rom from computer to your phone or you can download the Rom on your phone. Be sure to follow instructions. Download Rom and gapps. U can flash it through the recovery

I actually tried plugging my phone into my pc and put the .zip into the internal storage of the phone and I went to clockwork mod and found that .zip, attempted to flash that, and it didnt work. It gave me an error and I forgot the error code. If you want I can retrieve it again but if you know what to do without it, what now?

When you say I can download the rom on my phone do you mean to download the rom from my web browser and have it saved in my downloads folder and flash?
Yes that's correct. It will automatically go to your downloads folder

You have to use CWM 6.0.4.4 or higher to flash 4.4+ I'd say that's your issue. If you are rooted you will have to flash root after CM 11

Download the new version and flash it in fastboot.
Another few questions. One, from what I understand the highest version of cwm specifically for my droid DNA does not go up to 6.0.4.4, but rather 6.0.3.1. Is there a way to get this working or do I have to wait for a newer version. Also, how would I update my cwm to this version; what do I do to update it IF I get that 6.0.4.4 update. One more thing, you said I need to flash root after cyanogen mod 11. How do I do this?

The 4.4 threads should have a link to a compatible version of CWM. Flash it in fastboot just as you did with the prior version. As far as superuser, you shouldn't need to flash it in recovery since its already rooted and has superuser. I believe flashing superuser was required for the new Sense 5 update until developers released prerooted ROMs.
