ok.. i have done some googling on this error but the only results were japanese.
i have 2 identical phones, one is bricked but can get into fastboot, the other is fully working and has root.
i have used the dd command to copy the boot, recovery and system images.
when i went to flash them system.img flashed fine, but boot.img and recovery.img are sent ok but fail on flashing with this error: "remote: size too large" and wont flash, but if i execute :"fastboot boot boot.img" the phone will boot into android.
i have tried the android control fastboot protocol and adb one with no luck.
the phone is a huawei ascend p1 lte (U9202l-1)
bump: anyone know how to fix this

Hi there,
First, could you tell me the name of the phone, plus your provider?
its a huawei ascend p1 lte (model number: U9202l-1) provided by t-mobile (or ee)

Okay,
My recommendation, nitros, would be to download the Android SDK, and try to flash the ROM yourself.
I will attach an XML file, that is the general syntax followed when flashing a device.
If you are running windows, download the android sdk, and open up command prompt as an administrator, and input the following commands:
cd \[put file path to the android sdk here]\sdk\platform-tools
And follow the steps provided in the XML file.
Good luck!
If this fails, let me know.
PS: Only input the operations that are located between <steps interface="AP"> and </steps>.
If the command says <step operation="flash" partition="sbl1" filename="sbl1.mbn" MD5="3273A6FDFDFA35D2E5FCE4B3FBB1764F" />, then you type in "fastboot sbl1 sbl1.mbn".
If the command says <step operation="reboot-bootloader" /> then you type in "fastboot reboot-bootloader".
If the command says <step operation="erase" partition="modemst2" />, then you type in "fastboot erase modemst2".
i have the sdk but now how do i get hold of the rom.
do i have to make it from a dump

heres what i did to get it working: get android control, start cmd in its directory, boot into fastboot (power and volume down) and type: fadtboot boot (where boot. img is located)/boot.img, if it boots good if not restart back to fastboot and type: fadtboot flash system.img and then boot boot.img.
when it boots, open android control and co to the flashing tab, flash boot.img first then recovery, if it works great.
the reason you need to use android control is because it runs a few more commands that stop it giving the error i made this thread for.

Not to be a jerk, but how do you have 243 posts and not understand the "search" function? There are like 5011 threads about this EXACT subject already. You can either download the 2.1 update file from HTC, or, if you have truly sent your phone back to completely stock, the OTA should show up in a while. You can also "Check for Updates" from the settings menu. That worked for me the last time I took one back to stock.
Settings > About Phone > Check for Updates. That should give you the 2.1 OTA if my understanding is correct that you are on 1.5 stock.

Yeah, I've been trying to find a good explanation for the difference between moto-fastboot and fastboot. What exactly is the difference between the two? Are all of the 'erase' commands just as effective between the two?
Can I just drag my fastboot.exe file into the same one my moto-fastboot and adb ones are, and use it interchangeably or will I need to copy other files as well?
Moto-fastboot and fastboot are basically the same, moto-fastboot allows for bigger file chunks(something like that)and is made for the motorola phones. Just use the same commands as you would for fastboot but use mot-fastboot instead.
Hope this helps.

Thanks.
Out of the two I've only used moto-fastboot to install a deodexed system.img. I've done everything else through CWM. I've noticed the moto version seems to be required with certain type of flashes (i.e. recovery, system).
I had to reflash my first backup yesterday and ended up using moto-fastboot for all the erase commands. I just wanted to make sure I was using the correct program to get the cleanest recovery.

weird, i use normal fastboot and have yet to have a problem flashing any file; recovery and system images included.
Hi I tried to flash recovery with romracer's . I got these instructions:Copy the recovery image to a convenient location on your computer, preferably with a short path. We will be placing it on the C Drive directly (not in any folder) and using that in the next steps.
Note: The recovery image should have .img extension. If it is in a zip file, extract the .img file from it.
But I can't even extract the zip file with the .img file to C because it says Error:internal error processing iso image.
I am a noobie. Could you guys give me a hand??
Thanks!

This is what is did I downloaded automatic bootloader unlock from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871, unzip it, you will find img file named recovery-en-goapk-0630-1029 replace it with romracer recovery you downloaded and rename the romracer recovery as recovery-en-goapk-0630-1029. Just to be safe even replace the recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.4-olympus with rom racer recovery and rename it as recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.4-olympus. Open main and select option 2 and follow the instructions. It worked for me

what was the error you got, just to be sure download the romracer recovery again it may be a bad download. You just have to switch off the phone switch off the phone holding volume down until you see fastboot then connect it to pc open main and select option 2. It will ask you to do the stuff i just said, press enter it will show device serial number and then again enter and it will write the recovery image and will ask for reboot, hold the volume down button until it shows fastboot disconnect the cable then keep pressing vol down till you get android recovery press vol up to select and that's it you get the recovery.
Edit: Are you rooted and have an unlocked bootloader.

Starting Fastboot protocol support
So.......I can´t get it into RSD , just into fastboot protocol.........wich I have not a clue of what to do with it!

moto-fastboot flash recovery 5.img
moto-fastboot reboot

This is fastboot, it has nothing to do with adb. Don't confuse the poor guy even more with incorrect terminology. Maybe you keep your moto-fastboot in the adb folder but that's specific to you.

How do you flashed your recovery first time ??
I did it with fastboot and adb.
i got my fastboot from here : http://www.mediafire.com/?jfytd3dabf4m4fu
if it not called moto-fastboot in your adb folder than rename it to:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery 5.img
fastboot reboot
it work for me but if u know a better solution please tell me.
Let's try again...
"Fastboot" and "ADB" are two completely separate things, unrelated to each other. One is not required to use the other.
I flashed my recovery using moto-fastboot, I didn't have adb installed at all and it still worked fine.
Like I said, if you want to put your moto-fastboot in your adb folder, that's fine, but that's specific to you.
Okay... Lol... Now i know what u mean.
My fault. Im sorry

Hello,
Since my tf201 was getting really slowly I was thinking of putting a custom rom on it, since those are faster(?) than the stock rom. I found out that androwook is a pretty decent custom rom so I wanted to install it, only 1 problem. I have 0 knowledge of this 'Rooting, flashing, fastbooting..." The instructions on how to install it is useless to me. I managed to unblock it by using the asus tool, but thats as far as I got. I have absolutely no idea what to do now, is there any guide on this forum for noobs instead of experts of how to root and install custom roms?

0. Backup your data, and make a factory reset
1. Unlock device by executing the unlock app for TFP with WiFi on
2. Install TWRP

For step1 and step2, here is the ref

If you don't rename it. Then the command should be look like this "fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-tf201-JB.blob"
Now you can flash the rom you like and enjoy it

Hello People !!!
Want to return your OP2 to 100% Stock Factory Image or have you soft bricked OP2 and nothing except fastboot works or you need OxygenOS fastboot images ? This is the thread for you !!
Download Fastboot Image from here :- https://mega.nz/#!itR00ZaI!gJ6T0jgqfZaIF9NLlCzWj4LIGMMhCw8m8owFdeB_2B4
Extract the Zip in a folder .
Boot the phone into fastboot.
Run the batch file.
Done.
This method WILL NOT WIPE DATA
If you want to wipe data to,flash userdata.img from here :- https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347833307
Use command
fastboot flash userdata userdata_64.img
Click to collapse
You need the latest adb/fastboot package to be successful. For that,do this :-
Download the full Android SDK here (scroll to the bottom of the page>DOWNLOAD FOR OTHER PLATFORMS>SDK Tools Only)
Extract the zip and place the android-sdk-windows folder on your desktop.
Go into the android-sdk-windows folder and run SDK Manager.exe. Install the following packages (there are a total of 4 packages):-
Tools > Android SDK Tools, Android SDK Platform-tools- Extras > Android Support Library, Google USB Driver
Click to collapse
Go back into the android-sdk-windows directory, and you should see a new folder named platform-tools. If you don't see this new folder, repeat the step above.
Thanks for reading ...

i've got the exact same problem. Let me guess: your bootloader is locked?
anyways, try this: press POWER + VOLUME UP until you're in fastboot mode. connect the OP2 to your PC and execute the command 'fastboot continue' in a cmd window. if not, repeat until it works. your phone should boot like normal, you can't restart or shutdown though, since you'll be stuck in the same loop again.
at least that's my problem. can't flash anything since bootloader is locked, ADB does work fine though, as long as the phone is running.
really sucks to need a PC everytime you want to power on your phone.. if anyone can help, i'd gladly appreciate it

Please note that on the fastboot userdata command you are missing a letter. You have "fastboot flash userdata userdata_64.img" and it should be fastboot flash userdata userdata_64G.img. Great job by the way, used it to reset the OP2 and works great.

Converting the .DAT inside the official recovery ZIP to .IMG format
The rest of partitions are on the fastboot format, so only system and cache needs conversion, and userdata comes from hydrogenOS fastboot package...

How? What did you do different? For me, the fastboot.exe stops working at the below step.
..\fastboot>fastboot flash system system.img
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magi

I got the same error at first then I copied all the files into my platform-tools dir that has ADB & fastboot then run it.
Try this tool. It works good for me. But the windows driver for OP2 and the Qualcomm Diagnostic 9006 Driver must be installed.
Sry, can`t post the link. please PN.
Worked great, but it switched my wifi off. Even if I turn it on manually it doesn't show any active networks. I have rebooted several times. Any workaround?
