ONLY USE THE HOME APK the others in this are the leaked ones and outdated. Use FB and Messenger from store.

Did you fix permissions?
,, nvm nit working for me either.
Which version are you using? Beta 1 or alpha 2?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
i tried both, which were you able to get working?
and by manually pushing it just copy and pasting the apks into /system/app should do it right? rebooting doesnt seem to do much more
i also cleared the data/cache for email.apk, and changed the permissions on all 3 apps too
with beta1, the email app completely disappears, and with aplha2 the icon is there but it FC's when i open
What LCD density are you using? 161 on mine, and it works..
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
im using 161 as well
Well, all I did was push the three apk to system/app and rebooted. It worked..
Sorry..

Same here, just put the apk's, rebooted and cleared email app cache. That's worked.
But it's not designed to density like 160 ou 180, some buttons ares too small.
Don't like it does not use push for gmail account, at best it's a 5 minutes check..
When I use the GTab Email it goes to checking incoming servers and goes back to the login screen with a gmail account
Anyone know of or have one that works with exchange? Thanks!

People app missing

I have purchased a cube u30gt android tablet (custom evolution ROM with 4.1.1 loaded onto it) and the "People" app is missing.
The thing is, in /system/app, both contacts.apk and the contact sync service apks are there (even under accounts, if I look at my Google account I can sync my Google contacts), however there is no actual people application.
I can't install a third party app (GO contacts) as it says it is incompatible on the play store.
Not really sure what to do? Anyone had this?
Download Nova launcher. It will have a shortcut in the dock. I'm on v1.7 and I don't have it in my app drawer either.

Stock Email app with white background

I am rooted and stock. I'm coming from a Nexus 7, where I heavily used the stock email app. I prefer the white background over the inverted look. Where can I get the stock email app (white)
Thanks in advance
How about using kaiten mail, it is more advanced than stock mail and have all the options u want..

I would also be interested in having the stock ASOP email as well if anyone has gotten this to work.
I've tried the usual tricks without success, not sure if it has something to do with samsung now prefixing their APKs with SEC instead of just replacing email/exchange.apk

Hell yes I hate the Samsung email client, I prefer the Google application. If you do work out how to get it working I'd be keen to hear.

Stock email server is good compare to others
because stock email can automatically download attachment.
But I really hate JB black background with gray fonts whicj hard to read.

I use aosp email with clean rom. Delete secemail.apk and secexchange.apk replace with the aosp email.apk and exchange2.apk.
You can download here:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/g5htbd
Extract to system/app
Remove Google from name of both files
Set permissions to 644 (rw-r-r)
Clear data for email in phone settings (application control)
Reboot
Enjoy
In the at&t Rom sections there is the at&t CSC file which i think turned my email back to white background. I will try to upload or link.

email App look like gmail App

system app question

I was looking at my system apps with es file Explorer and I noticed... Say.. A folder called gmail2 and in it is a Gmail apk and a lib than there is also another Gmail apk. There is a few apps like the.. Gmail and gmail2. Why is this and do I need both?
Yea this is normal because when you use any feature of gmail your action and account got synced in second app so dont remove any system app or system app2.
Hope it helps!!!!!
