Hi friends.
I had sense revolution formerly, but it wasn´t good for me, so i install my stock ROM which i backup..
Now, I relock my bootloader, flash stock recovery but still i´m not able to install any update. Why? What can i do?
My CID is HTC__032.
It's the update available in your country? Did you get notification? Are there errors?
I get notification with old ICS update, because i didn´t update long time ago. But i read there that for my CID 032 - East Europe is update...plase, can anyone help me out?
You have an ics update notification? Have you installed it?
Can you describe what happens when you check for software update?
I can´t install it are you blind or you can´t read? i can´t install update...I check for update, notification show in statusbar, i downloaded it, allow to install but in stock recovery it does nothing. there was only image of mobile with red X and nothing happends...
Wow, I was trying to help you. I needed to be clear on the issue before risking your phone. You were very vague.
Your rudeness and ignorance is appalling and you can forget any help.
I'm surprised you ask for help and act like a pig. This is a community to help each other.
---------- Post added at 08:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:30 PM ----------
Furthermore, if you read my posts I needed the errors you encountered. Perhaps a logcat, it depends on your issue. Trying to narrow down a vague issue in broken English before risking damaging your phone it's a good idea.

I like your style bro.
This is a fantastic community and I consider myself lucky there are such great devs, contributers, reviewers etc here to help. Basic courtesy is the minimum standard anyone should expect.
Common sense says be nice to a stranger taking time out to help you.
Right I'll get off my soapbox!

I couldn't agree more. Sadly, common sense seems to become less common every day.
Hey sorry man...You don´t understood me..You asked me, and i answered. But i admit that it wasn´t the best answer..
I´m not risking a damage, that´s why I was asking this question there. I hope that I describe my problem.
So i try to describe it one more time. I want to update my phone to Jelly Bean. Now i have ICS, Software number 1.18.401.1 with update to 1.18.401.3, but i can´t install it. In recovery (stock and bootloader is relocked) it starts to install, but after 2 minutes it stops...So i can´t install Jelly Bean...
PS. sorry if I offended you. I didn´t want to be rude. Next time i´ll be more courteous.

Unlocking the bootloader will allow you flash different Custom roms(beta of CM9(ICS) is already out) and kernels.Check the development section for roms and decide if u want to use custom roms or want to stay on the stock.

Thank you for the information.
I have another question interested? What happens if I flash a ROM without having unlocked the bootloader?
In fact I did it!
And from the device tells me "failed boot 2!" It is because I have not unlocked the bootloader before? And what can I do now? I know it but i'm not sure!
If you want to help me, do not hesitate.

I made a mistake. But luckily there are friendly people who make constructive comments, which helps us.
Other people believe themselves better and make remarks that do not advance like you.

Actually it was constructive. If you had read the guide per another poster's advice, you would not have then been back asking how to get out of trouble because you chose to ignore the given advice!
There is plenty of good help given and offered on XDA, but it's the people who ignore the help/advice, forge ahead blindly, then expect the forum members to fix their screw ups because now they suddenly choose to listen to the advice who really make it difficult to keep a positive attitude.
Nuff said!

So if we follow the reasoning.
Read the post. And if you're wrong, too bad for you.
it is a beautiful spirit.
I prefer to say "to err is human" but we are here to help. The best thing is to learn from mistakes (but I'm sure you've never made a mistake). And I must say thanks to those who helped me. I will not make the same mistake.
I can even help those who have made the same mistake without insulting them.
And the kind of comments like yours do not learn.
Now I think the discussion can't stop there! And as we say at home: "A bonne entendeur salut!"
Galadiel, I don't believe that is what happened here. The way this conversation unfolded, your messages started off asking a philosophical question "Why is it desired to unlock the bootloader?" and very quickly turned into "Help, I tried it but something went wrong." From your description, the specific problem you had is a well-documented issue that is described in the instructional link you were given to read, including how to fix it.
There are a lot of people trying to modify their phones. That's why the tutorials exist. Your posts sounded dismissive of the help offered to you, and not surprisingly, you got some annoyed responses in return.
----------
Okay then. Are you still having the "Failed to boot" screen appear after flashing the .sbf file with RSD Lite? Have you resolved your situation, or do you still need help?

I say again. Thank you everyone for your help. I read all your advice and went to read the posts that you advised. All this was very helpful.

I will work on my phone this weekend. I will read all items with carefully. Then I will tell you if I passed or not.
And if it does not work I hope you will help me again.
I was using Kevin's multi-tool and managed to screw something up (my fault, not the tools). Basically, I formatted the /system partition, and it seems my recovery is gone as well.
My current status is EXPRESS PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.13.0000
It seems that if I could find the right RUU file, I could flash it using fastboot. The problem seems that I formatted /system, so there is no way to enable USB Debugging, thus adb doesn't work from fastboot mode.
Could someone tell me which RUU I should try?
GB and HC and HC to GB both here. Just plug your tablet into your computer and run the one you want.
Both were?
If you can get into Fastboot , you can flash recovery

How did you manage to format system while still S-ON and locked?

I had S-OFF and CWM, then formatted /System. Then went back to Fastboot, did something stupid, and was stuck. Sadly I was also near an empty battery. Fortunately I also have a Flyer, so last night, did battery transplant surgery. Now I am good!

Due respect (and I do appreciate your work here!), but I totally disagree. The dev sub-forum is filled with people asking questions and help from the software downloaded from here, as well as countless threads about S-Off, downgrading, recovery from brick, etc. The multi-tool is downloaded in this sub-forum. Plus I suspect the people that know about kev's multi-tool that don't read this sub-forum is very small.
I could have posted in General or Q/A, but I doubt I would have had much response.

There are only 3 pages worth of threads and none of which are about troubleshooting a specific issue. You're not going to get much help if you going to be annoying about getting attention. As you said yourself, the problem isn't the tool's fault so it's not even relevant where you downloaded it. You seem to have a problem following directions. I don't think devs can help you with that. As for the proper RUU, common sense searching will find that.

No I have a evo view 4G. I happen to have a flyer as well. I mentioned the flyer just because I pulled a battery from the flyer to deal with my battery bricked view. And I've been around xda for 5 yrs, not so new...
But like Kev said (and I said in post 7), I'm good now, and the thread can get nuked.
Can some one willing to help with TWRP and/or CWM PM me. I need someone to run a flashable zip for me. I have not unlocked my bootloader yet.
Thanks in advance.

First of all, I'm sure no one with this phone has CWM, that being said why would anyone flash something for you without you explaining what they flashing.

First of all, if you can't help the community don't bother with your snide remarks. With that said anyone can open up ANY flash able zip and see what it does and flashes. If you had done this you would notice it doesn't flash anything.
Well, him wanting someone to PM him will PROBABLY be the way he would explain what he is wanting to be flashed to be honest. And I don't see a point in thanking in advance myself but my opinion doesn't and shouldn't matter to anyone here LoL so neither does yours. Your post is as useless as him Thanking In Advance HaHa, either way he is trying to be polite and your post is uncalled for and rude.

I suppose the first question is, are you on mac, pc or linux.
But either way... here's the simplified answer.
Your first step is to unlock your boot loader.
It's not hard once you know how.
http://briefmobile.com/how-to-unlock-the-atrix-4g-bootloader
Follow the steps EVEN if your on gingerbread.
Then follow this one...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204500
There's some other ways to do this on mac too... but that stuff can certainly point you in the right direction....
I hadn't touched a motorola before, and I found it all easy. Bought it literally yesterday and had it all done last nite within an hour.
