How to get old mount settings back? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I'm on SWG 3.43 I'm having a problem connecting to my ps3. Not sure when this was changed as I haven't put anything on my system recently but as you can see in the picture these are the only options available when you click USB connected. If anybody could help I'd appreciate it.

The Evo automatically connects as an MTP device so those options are just for if you're tethering, do the files from your SD/Flash memory automatically show up?

I have no problem connecting my device to PC. It connects as "EVO" and I'm able to access sd card and internal storage. But I'm trying to copy data from my phone to ps3 and its not reading it. With the old mount settings I would hit mount disk drive if I remember correctly and my sd card would pop up allowing me to copy music/pics/shows etc. Now I only get these tethering settings.

Bump. Could somebody help me out with this? Syncs fine with my computer . It used to read on my ps3 no problem now I can't figure out how to mount to the ps3. Thanks.

New mixrosd card... How do I format?

I don't see the option to reformat in the sd card and storage section. Any help is appreciated.

Until root, the only way I know is factory reset. In settings when you select it, it also has a option for clear storage. You have to select it before it shows.
Edit: you can also try unmounting SD card erase, and then remount the card. Should automatically format.

ROM manager will allow you to reformat it every which way but loose.
[edit
damn little keyboards
I just moved majority of Apps over to sd and starting snapping pics saving to sd.... No format. What could possibly happen now? Lol.

Try posting in the Q&A ???
If u have evo 4g rooted use that to format.

If you bought it new, it came out of the package formatted and ready to use. Just put it in and go, after copying over the stuff from your old card of course.
Format or paritition? To format connect phone to usb connect to computer, when the phone screen asks for disc drive or charge only, select disc drive. Your computer will read it as a drive. Hit start menu, scroll up to computer click on it. Should show a couple drives, most likely the phone will be d: g: or f: NOT c: right click the drive scroll down to format and you are done. This is for windows.

Maybe your EXT partition is bad if you make it..
try one of sd speed boost apps from market
This is one of Gingerbread bugs. You can solve it - format card in FAT mode.
Is that just one time only? On the computer side, retry after plugging it into another port because your device might not've been recognized as USB 2.0 (It happens sometimes if it wasn't a clean mount or if your OS is windows), if that doesn't work, it might be a problem with your SD card's filesystem. Check it accordingly. If it ain't, try rebooting. Both. Either that or your drivers got screwed up (OR your card's just getting ready to say goodbye).

Diskdrive

Can one mount s 3 as Diskdrive? I can connect my phone directly to my car stereo and play off the files from the sd card. But since I didn't find a normal Diskdrive mount option I started to wonder if it is even possible?

Unstable wired file transfer

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with file transfer (Android filetransfer app on macbook). I'm using the cable that came with the phone (VZW, 32GB blue) and transferred about 10GBs of songs from a folder on the mac to the phone.
The problem was that every so often, the transfer would just hang and I had to unplug the phone and plug it back in and then resume. That was happening at random points (after 30MB, 400MB, 140MB) and a retry always succeeded.
I've done the same with the GalNexus (also vzw) on the same computer and didn't have the problem.
Is anyone else experiencing the issue? Have you done something to help it?
Reinstall drivers on your computer. Maybe that will work. I dont have this problem. Test it on a another computer.

Thanks for the reply but this is mac, so no drivers necessary for android phones. I was wondering if it has something to do with the bug where you have to use the camera MTP mode on the phone to perform file transfer (as opposed to the default media mtp)
Maybe something is working in the background in the phone or mac thats causing the slowdown

hmm, good point. I'll try after a fresh reboot of the mac.
MTP
That's funny, MTP is supposed to be slow but stable.

USB port in car is for USB Flash drives only.....

I dont think it is only for flash drive because i remember,my brother using his htc explorer to listen music using usb my guess is that the car does not support large storages,
Try moving your music to the external sdcard if this does not help buy an aux cable they are pretty cheap on ebay

Previous versions of Android had option to connect as Mass Storage. We don't have this option anymore so he can't use it as USB MP3 storage. Another issue can be multiple sc cards connected at once but not sure about that.

I was really saddened to read that, so I went and tried out for myself. Apparently you can get it working.
This is, indeed, the MTP (Microsoft's "Media Transfer Protocol) vs UMS (USB Mass Storage). If you manage to get your device exposed as UMS, the car will read it. As far as i know, only the external SD card can currently be exposed as UMS on S3 (read this thread). It may be (theoretically) possible to emulate a UMS, but this sounds like hell of a task to me, i would be surprised if such a thing would exist. If it does, though - do point me to the right direction, i'll glad to read about it.
PS: Do consider simply using a flash drive. Using a UMS mode on the phone, even when available, is pretty much using your phone instead of that flash drive anyway.

Have you tried an app to enable the phone as a usb mass storage device?.
