Maybe your EXT partition is bad if you make it..
try one of sd speed boost apps from market
This is one of Gingerbread bugs. You can solve it - format card in FAT mode.
Is that just one time only? On the computer side, retry after plugging it into another port because your device might not've been recognized as USB 2.0 (It happens sometimes if it wasn't a clean mount or if your OS is windows), if that doesn't work, it might be a problem with your SD card's filesystem. Check it accordingly. If it ain't, try rebooting. Both. Either that or your drivers got screwed up (OR your card's just getting ready to say goodbye).

I don't see the option to reformat in the sd card and storage section. Any help is appreciated.

Until root, the only way I know is factory reset. In settings when you select it, it also has a option for clear storage. You have to select it before it shows.
Edit: you can also try unmounting SD card erase, and then remount the card. Should automatically format.

ROM manager will allow you to reformat it every which way but loose.
[edit
damn little keyboards
I just moved majority of Apps over to sd and starting snapping pics saving to sd.... No format. What could possibly happen now? Lol.

Try posting in the Q&A ???
If u have evo 4g rooted use that to format.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
If you bought it new, it came out of the package formatted and ready to use. Just put it in and go, after copying over the stuff from your old card of course.
Format or paritition? To format connect phone to usb connect to computer, when the phone screen asks for disc drive or charge only, select disc drive. Your computer will read it as a drive. Hit start menu, scroll up to computer click on it. Should show a couple drives, most likely the phone will be d: g: or f: NOT c: right click the drive scroll down to format and you are done. This is for windows.

I have a Samsung Epic 4g and just recently while trying to download third party apps or anything outside of the Android Market I get the error: Memory Card Does Not Exist. Has anybody ever had this error? Please help!!!!

Does file explorer find the sd card? Is the sd shown as mounted in the settings?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yes it finds it, its just every time I time I try to download something from one of those downloading sites, it just goes to memory card does not exist. Is my sd car corrupted or something?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Well you might need to format your sd card, or not use third party markets...
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
How do you reformat your card? Do I lose everything that is saved on my card when I do?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Yes, a reformat wipes the sd. To reformat you can do it from recovery by mounting sd and formating or from the settings menu

Please download another app from Android market and see if this error also appears.
Thats the weirdest part about this. I can download from the market just fine, its just gives me the memory card does not exist when I go to download a zip from one of those file sharing sites.

Is it possible that the problem comes from the the app itself, maybe you can try another app from the same site or another one from the shared links. It happens to me sometime, and I will just let it go and try something else.
Thats what I thought too but thats not it. It gives me that error whenever I download from any of those file sharing sites. I tried to download Roms, Music, Etc with no luck... It just keeps saying Memory Card Does Not Exist.

I hv a 64 gb class 6 sd card which has been working fine. However sometimes when I try to install a large file, it won't install it right away. It takes several attempts to get it to install. Why is this happening? I seem to remember someone saying before that titanium back up may be causing it. Can someone please elaborate or could someone please put me on the right path. Thanks

How big of a file are we talking? Most apps are kept below 100mb anyway.

Did you format your sd card as fast 32?
I got it to recognize now, but it the Play Music app doesnt see the music. I set it to On Device Only.
Halp?

Mine came preset as exfat, I left it that way and it works fine.
Why is everyone suggesting fat32?
Mine is exfat and its fine. I figured it all I out. The problem was with Play music. I cleared data and it picked it up great.
Now how can I set everything to download to a specific folder on the sd?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
From what I've read (I could be off-base), exfat is fine for TouchWiz but CM and possibly other AOSP roms will only recognize fat32 (or at least will recognize fat32 but not exfat).
When I tried flashing CM on this phone to test it out, it could not recognize my sdcard which is formatted as exfat but Beans (which is TouchWiz based) reconizes it fine. This would appear to support what I have read but your milage may vary.

just wanted to clear up a couple things...if you flash cwm recovery or a aosp rom then you will need to format the card to fat32...exfat is fine on stock. I was assuming the op was using a custom recovery, my mistake.
Cwm and aosp should get with the program and support exfat. Fat32 has a file size limit of 4gb and exfat does not.
Recently i installed Alliance b24 with a 64gig external was working great till I noticed pictures and videos were erasing overnight. I take pictures and videos straight to external. Also transfered all my music there but only half the songs are recognizable even though file explorer shows the file still there. If you know of a fix please help.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Simplest fix, and this is going to be an extreme pain, move all your files on your SD card to your computer, format the card within the rom and move everything back. That usually fixes any SD card issues I have ever had with a tw based rom.

I've had to replace 3 64gig cards messing with roms and TWRP recovery unfortunately.
Issues your having sounds very similar to weird problems I've encountered. But night time wasnt the problem lol
Try deleting a file and reboot is the file still there?
Try creating a file and reboot is the file there?
Do it from a PC using cable?
Do it from microsd adapter?
I've even reformatted using PC and phone to find all my files still there and untouched..
Nothing will fix it.. My only solution was copy data and replace on a new card and snap the old card in half for security reasons.
This was after using TWRP and Alliance/Beans roms I've had these issues with a 64gig sdcard. I'd blame it on TWRP somehow.
Sorry it's not a fix.
I did have twrp. But after ur coment switched to philz. Will try both fixes a nd report back. thanks for your input.
