Hi!
First of all I have to confess I'm a total noob if it's about phone rooting, flashing etc. I'm not sure if I posted this thread in the correct place - if not, please correct me.
I've just downgraded my Xperia Neo V from 4.0.2.A.0.62 to 4.0.2.A.0.42. After this i 'tried' to installed ClockworkMod Recovery by partially following this thread. And here the fun begins. To do it I've used the flashtool. In the 'Fastboot Toolbox' I chose 'select kernel to Flash' instead of 'select kernel to HotBoot' and now my device boots only to the ClockworkMod Recovery menu. How could I fix this issue? Thank you in advance for help .
Just flash another gb based custom kernel using fastboot mode or flash stock kernel using flashmode in flashtool

first thing read the instruction properly
otherwise you will end up doing something stupid and will brick your phone
if you are on a locked bootloader
then flash stock ics .62 or .42 ftf using flashtool via flash mode not fastboot mode
you won't be able to flash a custom kernel if you are on a locked bootloader
if you are on a unlocked bootloader
simply flash a custom kernel using fastboot mode
flash the kernel which supports your rom
otherwise you have to re flash the rom and gapps

did you read good and do this?
HOWTO
to flash cm7 rom you have to take 3 steps (after unpacking the 7z archive)
step 1 - copy update.zip to sdcard
step 2 - flash new kernel (always use the kernel provided in CM7 / it is incompatible with stock ROM)
ON PC - run fastboot flash boot boot.img (an black window will open and will stay open untill kernel is flashed)
ON PHONE - put phone in fastboot mode (power off then press lower right key and plug usb cable) and phone LED will light BLUE
step 3 - when phone is booting (first 5 seconds) press volume down key several times to enter recovery and choose apply update from sdcard
WARNING - if you used another rom (stock or custom) you have to wipe data or device will not boot

Hi
When you were installing CM7 on clockworkmod did you remeber to wipe everything? before you install the rom, on the first screen of clockworkmod you see wipe data and wipe cache. Wipe them both then go to advanced and wipe dalvic cache and battery stats, after that install CM7. So what should you do:
1. turn of phone
2. connect to pc on fastboot and flash kernel with built in recovery (Command: fastboot flash boot boot.img)
3. now disconnect phone and go to cwm and wipe everything like i said
4. install cm7
if works hit thanks ^^
btw. sony ericsson logo, seems like you didnt even flash kernel?
Since u are saying u seeing sony ericsson logo seems u didnt flash kernel properly, use flashtool in xperia neo dev section makes things way easier.
Good luck bro hope this helps !

just flash that kernel via fastboot. don't use apps to flash kernels
fastboot flash boot nameOfKernel.img
I think you forgot to flash the custom kernel, cos if you flashed the CM kernel it should not show Sony Ericsson boot logo,it should show CM boot logo
update
I flashed .42 firmware again using flashtool and the device is now working
Now i realized that the problem was that i didn't properly unlock the bootloader...what i want now is a way to unlock it..bcz everytime i try it gives me this error
(bootloader) Unlock phone requested
FAILED (remote: oem unlock failed!)
finished. total time: 0.003s
I searched the forum and tried this thread

but it didn't give any kind of solution, Anybody can help ?

Hi,
I unlocked my bootloader with the official SONY method and installed a custom KERNEL. But, the time I reboot my Neo V all the KERNEL capabilities (such as OverClock) are lost. I again need to flash the kernel using "fastboot boot any_kernel.img"
This happens for every custom KERNEL I tried (around 4 to 5)
Please HELP! Suggest me a method to get rid of this?
Thank you in advance
Correct command fastboot flash boot boot,.IMG. Your just booting the kernel.
Why not use flashtool for fastboot
Sent from my MT11i using Tapatalk
Thanks!!
Thanks a ton.
I used fastboot, but used the HotBoot option.
Was I supposed to use the "Flash KERNEL" option?
Yes

fastboot flash boot boot.img
after that device stuck at xperia logo
i am not able to mount usbstorage also in recovery
how to get back to stock rom
completely turn it off, connect it to the pc in fastboot mode and flash another kernel and rom.
That should work.
Forgot to add that you can also download a ftf firmware and flash it using flashtool.

Hello,
I am a complete noob when it comes to dealing with phones.
I have a Sony Xperia Sola (firmware 6.1.1.B.1.54 ICS)
I downloaded Rom Manager via Play Store and want to flash a custom rom.
But whenever I try to select the option "Reboot and Install", only a normal boot happens.
How do I reboot and install the rom?? I have tried the button combos (power+volume - and volume +) but nothing works.
Please help!
PS
I am
-rooted
-bootloader unlocked
-clockworkmod recovery via recoverX
-rom is [ROM] Unoficial JellyBean stockrom 6.2.A.0.400 Sola
I understand that the rom you mentioned is recently ported and also deleted from development section of sola (munjeni rom).
According to his instruction, you need to do following thing:
Enter fastboot mode (off phone then hold volume up and plug cable)
Flash boot.img in zip Rom file to phone (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
Turn on phone and enter recovery menu (on phone then spam the volume down)
Do the clear data, cache... then install the zip file (rom)
Done.
Why was the rom deleted from the development section? Any clue? It was such an useful rom (using it myself)
And no, the original instruction only said to flash the zip file. Not fastboot the kernel before that. Fastbooting is only necessary I you get boot loops on normal flashing

I finally got into recovery mode, but when trying to flash the JB rom, it says something about a (Status 7 error) Flash aborted. how did you successfully flash yours?
First, you flash the stock ICS rom of sola. It will create the compatible partitions for JB in sola.
Second, you enter recovery mode and wipe all data, cache.... (maybe flash boot.img is required to entering this mode)
Finally, you install the zip file (rom).
Good luck.

I have flashed stock ICS, but even after I wiped/factoy reset, it still says Status 7 error
Maybe you should try to flash the boot.img in the zip file of munjeni before entering recovery mode and wipe all data, cache.

You flash in fastboot mode, or with recovery, but you must have unlocked bootloader, or it will brick your phone.
Hello!
I need some help: I tried flash a Custom Kernel (Lupus, FXP), but after flashing, I boot in to CWM (Or TWPR, in Lupus), flash a ROM (For Xperia Z Jelly Bean, i tried Lupus and FXP (one include with rom), for a FXP 225 and CM9.1, i tried only FXP include in to rom).
But, when I reboot, Neo stucks in a Sony Logo and persist the old Kernel (The original kernel).
Anybody can help me?
Thanks

But I fastbooted the kernel, boot in to Recovery, flashed the ROM, and when I boot again to system, stuck in Sony Logo.
So, i fastbooted again the kernel, reboot and boot in to Android. But, when I reboot after, the kernel is missing and Neo stucked in Sony Logo again.

Not guys, I'm not use a Flashtool.
I used a CMD.
Command flashtool boot boot.img
The Kernel uploads to Neo, boot in to first time, I can access the Recovery and flash the Custom ROM. But, when I reboot again to access the Android, Neo stucks in a Sony Logo (Neo back to Stock Kernel!).
I'll try use the Flashtool. But this is strange, yesterday I flash using CMD in another Neo and works. Today, in my Neo (Daily use) not work...
Have a difference using a CMD or a Flashtool to flash a kernel?
Thanks for help!
