[Q] Software update at&t One X + - HTC One X+

my phone just prompted me about an att software update. anyone else get this? wondering what (if any) changes there are.

ran the update. one thing ive noticed is there is a new thing in power settings. something called application monitor. you can turn it off and on. it says it can notify you if apps are consuming extra power. interesting.....

Can you check the software build number and post it here?

what is the software version and all other misc. info???

android and sense are still the same
software number is 1.19.502.1 710RD
HTC SDK 4.63
Build number is 1.19.502.1 CL161932 release-keys
Baseband version is 2.14.55.01_18.21.95.55L

Hopefully it fixes the nonexistent Group SMS

i wonder if all this update did was break the the vulnerability where we can unlock the bootloader???
BTW, were you bootloader unlocked before doing the update?

completely stock one x +

I've been able to text multiple people but the messages back show up outside of the group message. I called AT&T and HTC and they both claim an update "was being worked on to resolve this known issue"

Just got it and installing it as we speak. Mine has an unlocked bootloader with root. Better not remove root or I'm gonna have to flash stock RUU and go from there. I'll post back.

I thought mine was updated too, but the build number doesn't seem correct. A few posts back someone says it should be Build 1.19.x

HTC one x+ rooted running stock tried to run update ....phone restarted and went into twrp install failed and could not run the update so I don't know if we have to wait to find an exploit

It is AT&T software update which says "current software is up to date"
I have an inherent distrust of everything AT&T says

Updated
I just updated had stock phone never rooted or anything. My current software after update is:
Software number
1.19.502.1 710RD
HTC Sense
4+
Android Version
4.1.1
Baseband
2.14.55.01_18.21.95.55L

You folks with failed updates, the issue is you must have a stock recovery in order to apply a stock update OTA.
Bootloader is unlocked via HTCDEV so you will always be able to unlock it again if an hboot update is applied.
This is great news as its the newest build so devs have new toys

1.13.651.1 is the stock ROM that was released with the phone. Consider yourself lucky if you want to root and unlock, because this version you can root, unlock and S-OFF. Don't take the OTA update if you want to root, unlock and S-OFF.

If I am not mistaken you can still unlock through htc and root but you won't be able to get s-off.

I don't need S-OFF on this phone anyway, as you can flash Kernel even with S-ON on this phone.

I don't think this is true anymore - I'm pretty sure the new hboot in the update prevents flashing kernels when s-on htc unlocked.

[Q] Moonshine S-OFF Issue

I was trying to S-OFF my HTC One using moonshine's method but could not get it to work properly.
As you will see from the screen shot (attached), its stuck there and doesn't go further.
I have gone over the guide multiple times. Fast boot is unchecked , USB debugging is checked, ADB and fastboot drivers are working.
I am currently using a T-Mobile version HTC one with the following software information:
Android Version: 4.1.2
HTC Sense version: 5.0
Software Number: 1.27.531.11
HTC SDK API Level: 5.12
Baseband version: 4A.17.3250.20_10.40.1150.04L
Can somebody here guide me what I am doing wrong or missed out something ?
You can't s-off. If you want to know more just use the search function or Google. This has been discussed many times in many threads.

Pretty sure u need soff to do super cid
Or anything further than just unlock and root.
You may be able to flash the older 1.27.531.8 Rom and then try it since the bootloiader wasn't updated.
If your on 1.27.531.11 you have to downgrade with a Rom or ruu
Don't quote me but I think people have don'e this to get soff

[Q] Updating 4.3

I tried updating with my HTC one but it keeps saying it's currently up to date. How can I fix this? I'm running on an unlocked AT&T with Simple Mobile as a carrier. I've changed the IMEI number before and I'm not sure if it's relevant to updating the software itself. Is it possible to manually update the software? I'm new to using an HTC One this is my first android.

I don't think I'm going to do anything to this phone. I know it's odd that someone on XDA doesn't root or unlock or anything like that. I actually learned a hard lesson with the DNA. When I got it in early 2013 I bricked it. It could have been hardware related too. The display did funky things. It was replaced under warranty.
I used the replacement for some time before I sold it off then moved on to other phones. Back in January I saw on for sale on Craigslist. I bought it for like $60 but it was a bit beat up. Small crack on the top right of the screen and scratches everywhere. Now my DNA is mostly a spare phone.
What I find funny is the DNA now has KitKat and my primary phone is a Verizon Note 3 and it doesn't yet have KitKat officially. I did take the "leak" of KitKat and it is great. That's as close to any hacking I have done in ages. Probably should not have taken that leak for the Note 3 but too late.
My DNA is still installing the update. May try rooting but would rather not brick this phone.
At least you need to be on the stock recovery and ROM, I'm not sure if being s-on is required.
Give it some time, someone will post the new radio, hboot, and rom.

Were you S-Off and rooted, with stock rom? and after the update did you remain rooted and s-off with no issues? if so what method did you use to get s-off?
This is a 2 part download, the initial one was about 30MB and it rebooted. Part 2 is 618MB.
Mine's downloading now but I'm at work so I can't capture the OTA unfortunately.
You have to manually initiate the update scan both times.

New Firmware OTA Update from AT&T, Update?

Hi everyone,
AT&T published a new OTA update.
I am unlocked, rooted and have TWRP. Is this safe?
Also, any thoughts on the purpose of this? The change log says:
What's changing?
New FOTA enhancement – support for 1GB+ file size (OMA DI Client Update).
Is this a setup for the AT&T Marshmallow update?
Thanks.
When I received the message I thought it was going to be the MM update but it turns out it's some sort of LP update. Very disappointed. I can't find release notes as well.

Gotcha gotcha. I couldn't make or receive calls with the MM ROMs so returned to stock AT&T. I hope the MM update is coming.

This is almost certainly due to AT&T specific deployment of Voice over LTE (VoLTE, which ATT calls "HD Voice") not playing well with non-ATT ROMs. You can call AT&T to have HD Voice option turned off on your account. Details in my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62001970&postcount=28
Another option, you can try the stock Developer's Edition MM ROM here (just need to flash the ROM, don't need the flash the firmware; and s-off would be required to do so): http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development/rom-stock-unlocked-developer-sense-7-t3262894
The Dev Ed is designed to work on AT&T's network, so I'm guessing it shouldn't have the same voice call issue. Although I haven't personally ran into that issue, so I can't confirm that. Plus, the Dev Ed ROM is clean of AT&T branding and bloat, so IMO much better than any stock AT&T ROM, anyway.

Still on .2 firmware
I'm very interested in getting the baseband update. ATT HTC M8 Unlocked S-off. I tried loading the stock ROM and using the OTA update, but it went into TWRP recoery mode and then only upgraded the software version to 4.28.502.8 not the radio. I've also tried the "manual" method using the utility provided by HTC and it hangs about 14% into the upgrade (I gave it a full 30 minutes before I gave up). Any help for this novice?
4/29/16: I'm such an idiot...flashed a stock recovery, so the the manual RUU method worked...except it was the update from last August, not the one from April 7, 2016. So now all that I've accomplished is to (it would seem) unroot, and factory reset. Going to leave as is until the 24 hour wait is over and can re-try the OTA. Maybe now it will work. Still unlocked and s-off.
Does anyone know the device location of the download? If so, I can post it since I haven't updated yet.

I have been searching high and low for where on the device the download is stored!
Ok, so i ran RUU_M8[email protected]50319A_40.45.C33065.00_F_release_446225_signed_2
Then ran the april 7 OTA update on my unlocked, rooted, s-off M8. It all seemed to go great, and then bootloop. Tried factory reset, still hangs on HTC screen after ATT "bells". At least I know from the bootloader screen the stupid radio firmware was upgraded (that was the goal) I wish I had used TWRP to save a copy of the above RUU state before I went and did the OTA. Tried booting (not flashing) TWRP to load my last working ROM prior to the RUU which was CM-12 stable release-yay it booted! But if I need to go back to stock ROM I guess I'll need to downgrade with the RUU above?
---------- Post added at 09:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:33 PM ----------
PS this does NOT solve the issue of not receiving phone calls while on a custom ROM the ATT LTE network...so a huge waste of time.

Then yes, downgrade by RUU is probably your best bet to get back to stock (until we have a newer RUU).
So I flashed the RUU 4.28.502.1 through HBOOT. It booted up to LL but I'm not able to update my phone at all. It will take the update file approx around 28MB but when it reboots after flashing the file it gets stuck at the HTC logo after the AT&T logo. I tried to reboot and restore the phone but it doesn't go anywhere. I would have to enter HBOOT again and flash the stock RUU file again to get the phone to boot up again.
Could anyone help me into the right direction? I'm trying to get MM eventually on it.

Sounds like you need to flash the last working ROM you have a back up of. I had the same bootloop issue, if you read post #11
Best,

Thx I'm unlocked, rooted with s-off. My concern is that by doing the bootable RUU to LL which has stock recovery, why can't I take the OTA updates?
My last rom was actually stock KK with TWRP. I modded so much files so I would at this point I have do an RUU to update. I will probably do a KK RUU with stock recovery and take the LL update OTA. I could be missing something in between, dunno.
Thx
