[Q] Rooting one x+? - HTC One X+

Hi all,
Moving from a GS2 to a HOX+ and the GS2 is easy to root but not so sure about the HOX+, I did root and add many custom roms to the GS2 but can only find one rooting process for the HOX+ but the web page says they've had a lot of people bricking their phones, is there a good guide to rooting the HOX+?
Sorry did search but found nothing.
Cheers

Rooting is easy as pie. I used the tool in the first link myself, but you may find the second link just as useful.

New to all this, need help

Hey guys, I have a thunderbolt and would like to learn how to root, flash, all that good stuff.
Problem is, I don't know much about this stuff. I looked around, but couldn't find a link or a thread that was like an educational tool. If anyone knows where it is, it'd be much appreciated. Or if someone could let me know the basics, that's be good to.
I know I have to root the phone first, but I'm not sure how to save my contacts and past information(old texts). Also, I'll be rooting from a macbook.
Thanks in advance.
Why hello there Ryan!
There are several methods available to you, as well as several guides, most of which can be found here
In particular, you'll find a great guide to rooting on Mac osx here
GL and HF! And make sure you read ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS before you start. Links may die, and if you're 1/2 way through rooting it won't be good

+1, that's the stuff just remember to post any questions you may have in the Q&A section and not the development one! Happy hacking!

Welcome,
For rooting I used the "[ROOT] MR1/OTA PermRoot + Unlock Bootloader - Safer/Easier 5/12/2011" method by jcase. Once I got ADB set up on Windows it could not have been easier. Just take your time, follow the directions to a tee, and all should be well.
Since rooting I have spent a lot of time trolling these forums, using the search function ;- ) to find the information that I need, and more or less hacking on my Thunderbolt the my great delight and my wife's displeasure.
Have fun and enjoy.

[Q] Root galaxy s2 2.3.6

Hi,
I had a question about rooting my galaxy s2. I searched a while for a great tutorial on youtube.
I found this amazing site called; galaxys2root.com, with a video called "How to Root Galaxy S2! [NEW][Works on All Galaxy S2 Variants]".
I tried to root my phone, but it doesn't seem to work. The software used in the video is 2.3.3. I thought this might be the problem, since I followed every step carefully.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to root a 2.3.6. A video similar to the one written above would be great, since it is my first time rooting!
Thanks in advance,

SEARCH FIRST
Just use Odin With CF Root Kernel
Again, asking us about a method that isn't on this site is pointless. How would we know ?
If you want to root your phone using a method from here, CFRoot thread. Do not use this method (or any method for that matter) to root your phone until you absolutely thoroughly understand the instructions.
The risk of bricking your phone using any method to root increases exponentially with how poorly you understand it/how little attention you pay to the instructions.
You would also do well to read the stickies.
There are no videos, there are no shortcuts.
thanks Mistahbungle
It looked easy while watching the video.. that is why i was wondering
Also, make absolutely sure you have an I9100/I9100T.
Check in settings/about phone; you'll need to do this anyway to check your current kernel so you can find a matching CFRoot kernel to flash in order to root your phone.
Make sure using the correct ROM and kernel, for G version and non G.
Good Luck friend!

[Q] How to Root Android 2.2.2?

Hi there.
I am trying to find instructions of how to root my Motorola Atrix 4G, but I can't find any solution for Android 2.2.2. I found a couple of how-tos describing the steps for android 1.8-4.5, not 2.2.2 tho. For example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871 which looks to be the easiest way to do it.
Does anyone have any idea/hint to give me? I am a complete noobie that has been reading about it for like a week already.
BTW, I appreciate any hints for how to flash custom ROMs and any good ROM, I am think about the epinter one (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060064).
Thanks!
Obviously you haven't been reading the right stuff.

Root DNA flashed to pageplus

I have searched and searched and for some reason it seems like im the only one that wants to do this? Had my phone flashed to pageplus using beigephone. Im somewhat computer savvy but never delved into the phones, and am not familiar with linux. From other guides ive read it seems that i could do this but i have questions. One: is there anything specific to rooting an already flashed phone that i need to take note of? Specifically pageplus? Two: what is the most comprehensive step by step guide to rooting a verizon htc dna? Anxiously seeking suggestions from those more knowledgable than I. Three: is it necessary upon rooting to run custom roms? Or will the stock one still function as it did but with greater access? Will the fact that it has already been flashed necessitate me to do one or the other? Will i have to re flash the phone? I thank everyone ahead of time for your time and expertise on the matter.

[Q] Galaxy S2 supersu?

Hello everybody!
As I am well aware this topic might have already been discussed, I also apologize for posting this again.
I am not too experienced with rooting, flashing phones and so on. All I look for is to install supersu on a Galaxy S2 (gt-i9100) so that I can move a few apps in system.
Browsing for a few hours I have found a few one-click methods and also a lot of complicated ones. The thing is I do not need to flash the ROM or change the kernel, I just want supersu to work, that's it!
So far, the link I have found the closest to my requirement is the one on ibitimes link that says it's using the framawork app.
The guy who posted this says that it is taken from this site but I do not seem to find details on it.
I do not necessarily want to use it especially, I just look for a similar method. Please give me some suggestions if you could.
Best regards,
Vlad Nitu
