[Q] rooting prime without usb connection - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

is there a way to root the prime without usb connection. i have installed asus sync on 2 of my laptops, and on both i get a trouble massage when i connect the prime. he massage is that the last connected usb device causes a fallier on the usb port.I tried the sparkyroot app, but that came with a massage that "the exploiteble file not found" is. when i press unroot, it says that the root has been removed, but whene i recheck it still can't find the exploit.
I'm currently running original android 4.1.1 and the build-number is 10.4.2.18-20121122

root without USB Connection???

usb connection and charging isn't possible.
So i opened the phone and replaced the charger port flex cable.
Still no connection to PC but charging is after a few tries on disabling usb debugging and reactivating is now possible. But connecting to the PC is even now impossible Maybe a firmware update solves the issue.
Is it possible to root via w-lan, bluetooth or SD-card?
i did nowhere find any solution

No.
Make sure you've installed all of the necessary drivers. (Kies or the standalone driver pack)
i had 2 of this smartphones. Both factory reset. I know exactly how to root!
With the first one root was no problem. But the second one seems to be defective!
Didn't you read my message properly? there must be any solution how to root without usb!
Try something like this and push the su files manually.

[Q] Help needed with USB Mass Storage problem

Morning all.
As of yesterday, my S2 won't connect to any pc in mass storage mode.
At first it connected as it should, but after about 5 minutes - before I'd transferred anything - I got a message that windows couldn't recognise the device/driver installation unsuccessful.
Since then I get this message immediately, have tried 4 different pcs.
Would seem the USB drivers are FUBAR somehow, but MTP via Kies works, as does Odin.
I've tried a full factory reset/reinstall, previous backups - stock and custom - removed, reinstalled and updated Kies, cleaned the USB port on the phone - nothing doing. Have tried stock kernels, Siyah, Nimphetamine - nothing. Currently on XWKL1, custom ROM (krinyo's SlimROM) with Siyah 2.6.3+
Also tried uninstalling various USB ports on my home pc, but stopped when I discovered it was the same on all pcs.
It's not the end of the world - I have bluetooth and my microSD - but it's a PITA and I'm out of ideas.
Many thanks for any help/suggestions.

Yes, forgot to add that, sorry. Tried with and without, no difference.
Tried changing the usb cable?
From another post
Dear All
Following are my observations and possible steps to
1. When the phone is upgraded to Android 2.3.4 and above (mine is 2.3.6) Kies stops recognizing the phones and USB connection / Serial port connections etc get reset on the phone
2. Even if proper drivers are there on the laptop (mine is Windows 7 64bit) they are not recognized
3. Device Manager shows "unknown device"
4. Updating the driver also does not result in any help
5. solution lies in the phone
a. key in the dialer *#7284#
b. it has 4 option there..
UART (MODEM/PDA)
USB (MODEM/PDA)
c. For USB. select the PDA.if it already selected to PDA. reselect it by select MODEM and then PDA again.. Only change the USB setting.. andthen press back. try reconnect (thanks to napi1 @ androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-international/447145-sgs2-kies-not-syncing-os-2-3-5-a.html#post3484588)
6. The Laptop will start recognizing the required drivers and install them

Maybe this can help
Getting a Service Mode FC when I enter that code in the keypad.
Will try it with an older backup.
Edit - tried it with a backup of CheckROM , 2.3.6. No FC, PDA already selected. Tried 5c above, still no good - unknown device on pc..

No. Can't see that there's a problem there if Kies and Odin connect OK.

Bugger me, it was the cable....
Bought a new S2 yesterday - nice to have a backup, and the Nexus is meh - and tried the new cable on old S2, everything fine. Old cable on new S2, no good for USB but fine for Kies and Odin as mentioned before.
No idea why it should be like this, but sh*t happens. Easiest solution is often the best!
same problem happened to me too
I have the exact same problem, tried everything like OP, even new cable still same issue...any ideas?

Im running the following
S2 Root 1.5.1
Android Version 2.3.6

Make sure samsung drivers are installed, try different USB ports, check USB debugging in settings.
If it doesnt work again, try it with a different computer if possible.
Ok when i turn off USB debugging on the phone the PC will connect to it. When it is on it wont?

That needs to be on, so the problem is elsewhere. Did you install samsung drivers, if you did, have you tried different USB ports?
I have downloaded the drivers and still not working
Still cant get it to work

Stock TF201 Can't connect to PC

No matter what I do I cannot get my Prime to get discovered by my PC. Tried un installing and re installing drivers/pc suite. Still nothing. Is there any trick to it? Trying to get it connected so I can get rooted and get JB up and running.

you connect the cord to your prime and to your usb port and nothing at all happens at either end?
Yup. Nothing at all. Install led drivers multiple times and restored to factory defaults.

its either bad cable, bad usb port on your computer, or your computer thinks it has the right driver and no further action is required.
Have you tried plugging it in to another computer?
Somehow it worked on the third computer I tried on. At least it's not the tablet then.. I think. Thanks for all the help!

could still be the usb cable then. You might want to order a backup just in case.

Can't Access Note 2 On PC

I juss got my Verizon Note 2, and was about to move some music and videos on it from my PC, but I ran into a strange issue. At first, when I plugged in my phone to my computer (Windows 8), Windows recognized the device, but no matter what mode I put it in, it never showed up in Windows Explorer. So, I tried downloading the Galaxy Note 2 Toolkit from XDA, but was unable to install it because it has yet to add support for the Verizon Note 2. So, I tried installing Kies, which installed my phone's driver, but won't actually recognize the device. When I look in Windows' device manager, I found the device was found under the name "SAMSUNG_Android", and had a yellow caution symbol next to it, and had the following text in the device status box:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.

Any ideas on what to do?
P.S. I do have a 32GB microSD in the phone, in addition to the internal 16GB, but I have tried accessing the phone with and without the card installed.

Try going into settings, about phone, tap build number 7 times, you are now a developer, back out to the main settings, go into developer options, enable usb debugging. Did that work?

It was already enabled for some reason. Huh. Well, it's still not working.
I couldn't access my phone on my computer either it ended up being that I had to use the stock cable that came with the phone instead of the ones I bought off ebay

I'm having the same problem and neither the stock cable nor the cables from my GNex work. I have downloaded the Kies, deleted, re installed it numerous times with no luck. Also an aside, do the phones all come with a white cable and plug even when the phone is Gray?
Nevermind.
Make sure when you guys plug it into your pc that when you slide the notification bar down and it says conncected as installer you have to click that and check the box beside MTP. That solved my issue.

Has anyone successfully gotten Kies to work? I'm on a MacBook Pro with no luck so far. Switched over to Windows and still no dice. So has Verizon just completely blocked us from using Kies???
I was having the same problem. I used the Toolkit option to install the Samsung drivers and restarted my computer, and it worked.
