Hello devs,
The problem i'm facing seems to be faced by many people but no one got a clear solution(as far as i searched the forum and our best friend google)
When i try to send any file via bluetooth from ics stock or modded roms my mobile seems to restart to logo and get into bootloop.
I tried every possible ics roms and found the same problem continuing when using stock ICS kernel and rom.
As few devs said in forum threads that wiping dalvik cache would do the trick i tried that too but in vain.
I checked that when i flash GB kernel and rom the problem does not occur.I checked in both Neo V and Ray (Both having same issues). So i figure out that the problem is not with my phone but the ICS build .587 .
So i request any devs to find a solution for this issue and help the people suffering with this problem.
Note: When using JB kernel and JB rom the issue isnt there but as stock JB isnt available just wondering whether we can use the super roms from our devs from ICS itself.

I think its a bug of ICS & JB roms, becoz galaxy nexus users also faced the problem in ICS & JB... The problem isnt there in GB...
When u face bluetooth bootloop, gotp cwm wipe cache & delvik cache, reboot... Now extract bluetooth.apk from rom.zip & using root explorer move it to system/apps with proper permission, reboot... Done

Hi
I have tried all day to install ICS on my Neo V, and I always end up in a boot loop (after the XPERIA logo it restarts). I have tried KA06 ICS and another Sony based ICS ROM.
I'm pretty new to this and I'm not sure what info you need so please ask away.
One thing I noticed is that whenever I clear the dalvic-cache it gives an error (not mounted or something i think?)

Did you succesfully unlocked your bootloader and installed a custom kernel?
Thats what i did to install k6 on my neo v.
1º Flash .64 baseband.
2º Flash .62 baseband with flashtools(check exclude baseband).
3º Flash kernel.
4º Recovery wipe all + install k6.
5º Flash neo-v patch.
if i install .64 baseband im stuck on xperia boot image loops.

@krabappel2548 It came unlocked and with a custom 2.3 rom when I bought it. I can install a stock 2.3 rom using flashtool fine.
@equlog Yes this time I didn't flash the 64 baseband from the KA thread and just left the stock one on. (I had .62 stock)
@wilsonchuchu I tried that but it didn't help
EDIT: Somehow it works now! I flashed the stock rom again and have been using it for a while (I rebooted a couple of times), then I flashed the non-oc kernel and this time I was able to clear the dalvic-cache. The rest worked fine and I've just booted in to the phone. I'm not sure why it worked this time because I've been doing this all day.
Now for KA7 lol

You're welcome I also updated Neo V patch
KA06 looks really good, just one problem so far (if you can call it that) the cosmic flow live wallpaper crashes every time I try to add it. The other live wallpapers work. Is this because the hardware acceleration isn't fully implemented yet?

Yes, that could be the reason.. Think I'll remove the Cosmic flow wallpapper in next versions

I've just been reading some more about the fw/basebands and it looks like the .62 firmware does include the .64 baseband. Looking in about phone seems to confirm that. Am I right?

Thanks, so for anybody else having problems with the Neo V it seems the best way would be:
1: Flash .62 firmware
2: Flash KA kernel.
3: Boot into recovery, wipe all + install KA.
4: Flash neo-v patch.

I think I may have found the battery life problem. Looking at the battery usage under settings, the gallery app shows by far the most battery usage. When I go to apps and find gallery I see it's running a service called picassa sync. Disabling picassa sync on all the Google accounts and then force closing the gallery app seems to fix the battery usage. Can some other people please try it and confirm if it works?
After doing this the cpu time and amount of the battery used by the gallery app does not get any higher, even if I make sure the gallery is running again and it moves down the list and the highest battery usage becomes the screen.

happened to me just now in KA12 ICS after I tried to remove the onscreen buttons

and about the widgets.. did anyone seems to have a problem with it? I have this battery widget after putting it up in homescreen, it doesn't move at all though the battery is decreasing, the widget stays the same. Same with player pro widget, you can press the next button fine but the music title and the album thumbnail stays.

A few months ago the front Camera worked on my Neo but not anymore.
I cant really say if it just stopped working or had something to with flash of another rom.
I've rooted and flashed a number of phones before so i have some basics in this..
Currently running ICS on my Neo.
What I've tried to do to fix it.
1. Use SEUS but it said I have a modified android version and would let me restore...
2. WotanClient which restored it to .62 2.3.4. Failed at first attempt but succeeded at 2nd. >> front cam didnt work afterwards.
3. Tried other ICS roms and made several attempts.
The steps i took on installing another rom:
- installed fastboot
- connected phone
- run fastboot flash boot xxxx.img
- go into recovery
- wipe all, wipe cache, format system, dalvik and battery stats
- install xxx.zip
- up and running with non working front cam
Questions!:
1. How can I make a TOTAL restore of both bootloader, kernel, rom and everything to the stock firmware it got shipped with????? A step by step would be appreciated!
2. Any steps that I could have missed??
3. Anyone with similar problems?
4. How can I put it back to 100% stockrom to get warranty back and perhaps send on service?
FYI
The back camera also behaves strange on the ICS rom in skype/tango video call. It is miscolored.. On 2.3.4 it was ok.
Weird. Could this all be a firmware issue?
Can some provide all the tools i need to get it working? Or can I extract some logs or something that would help you find out if the front cam really is broken??
Where can I test the front cam or are there any appa to specifically test it in any way??

Im pretty sure it was a neo rom, it was picked from neos forum anyway.
Nope, havent messed with it at any point nor any other file.

Ill give it a shot but i dont think it will help as after WotanClient and back to android 2.3.4 it wasnt working either.

If it doesn't work after flashing official 2.3.4 firmware in flashtool with a full wipe, I'm out of ideas.
Does flashing with wotanclient really flash Everything?? Kernel, loader rom and wipes everything?? If the phone hasnt got a hardware fault something, it must be some step i did that sctewed something up.. Could try wotan again though but would rather have more people look into this before strarting flashing.

While i was trying out some different Kernels on my Phone (Mt11i SE NEO V), it seems that i picked a wrong Kernel and my Phone was showing me the Model Mt15i (SE NEO).

Just tried the Camera fix. Cant find anywhere to switch to front cam. Didnt help...

It is MT15i according to system information.
After a few more replies or tips here ill try to reset with flashtool / wotan.

the issue persisted before i rooted my phone and after i switched to the stock ics from gingerbread
now im using cm9 and the face unlock feature doesnt work

front camera solution
Hello and sorry for continuing this thread, but i have a query about the front camera of xperia neo v.
As all the above, I have the same problem with my front camera and I was wondering if I could somehow get the camera's apk file from gingerbread (the whole camera application - which is believed to be the last application compatible with the camera),would this solve the problem?
I am addressing aspecially to the developers .....
If anybody knows a way to solve this, please send me inbox a guideline.

May be below the info can help you about the stock rom flash
1. Find the bootloader locker ftf (firmware file) file for Neo from the Internet (else inbox me I will find and will give you. I have that file but it's Neo V only). Once you flashed this file then Sony updater service will reconognize your device and do the update properly
2. Install Sony updater service
3. Connect your phone and choose the phone model then update to ICS

Facing a strange issue with my SGS2
i didn't know what happen to it but i am on siyah kernel and tried to install few roms but any custom rom ICS 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 when i install them and on 1st boot it only show's me a blank black screen with task bar available... and by holding the toggle button on task bar i am able to open that perticular option, rest it is showing me nothing, not even the lock screen,
i had tried around 7-8different types or rom but they are not working properly even tried stock rom also showing me same issue, only when i install REVOLT JB rom or PFittech JB rom 1.1.3 it works fine, but iwant to install and try other roms also .. tell me how can i fix it up ?

i think after you install news rom you press home+volume down+ power > restart you's phone> choice wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache partition and resboot

and face same issue...

Try flashing a stock firmware. Go to sammobile.com, make an account and download the file there.. flash via odin

Same Case with me as well. I have a lenovo tab which has the same thing. No Launcher and it has a blank screen and that's it.
Just an idea but you could try to create a zip file of a custom launcher like nova trough titanium backup.
Flash it in recovery and see what happens when booting.

Ok, I was using the official ICS rom and out of nowhere I got the Wifi bug, my wifi was unable to turn on.
So I already tried to fix:
1) Unlocking the bootloader
2) Installing the CMW recovery
3) Installing the xICS Hybrid ROM rom (wiping everything)
And the bug is there even on a wiped new rom.
Still not working.
Why??? Isn't there any fix for it? Even changing roms!
Please help!
I'm going back to GB, I bought this phone for the ICS update, I still cannot believe that I will going back because of this bug.

This is true, this works. But I want to use ICS, not the old GB. That's why I bought this phone
I flashed the ICS rom again, let's see when the bug will appear.
Some Xperia models are experiencing problems with ICS and wifi...
there's an official update said to be rolling out in a few weeks wich is rumoured to fix several issues

AOA...just bought samsung galaxy s2 and wanted to root it.. i guess it is refurbished but i checked it thoroughly so it is the international s2 a.k.a GT-i9100
I flashed it using odin with siyah kernel, loaded CM10.1 and flashed it via CWM....
1.wipe data/factory reset
2.wipe cache
3.wipe dalvik cache
4.install cm10 and gapps
5.reboot
All was okay until Camera not working  both front and back cam arent working so i di alot of research tried the last 5 siyaah kernels, tried to flash cm9 (ics) but no it still doesnt work... in some forums it was mentioned that it would work ig i revert back to stock firmware..
So my questions is please help me to either solve this camera issue preferably on JB or ICS then... OR please guide me to which exact file of sotck firmware should i download.... which works best with our networks... (its 500mb+ takes time  )

Update: flashed stock firmware via odin got it from samsung-updates.com. It is ics
Still no luck camera not working... Now when i checked for updates in cellphone its showing me an update so im trying that... P.s hardware isnt an issue b/c checked camera when the phone came in on GB..
