[Q] Downgreading to ics from JB? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hey , i'm new with Razr devices.
I have Razr maxx (verizon - XT 912) , i bought it as i though it has great battery life , but it's really terrible on JB .. it was already on JB when i bought it
Looked in google , also on xda ,ect.. but nothing ... So there is no F**** way to back to ICS?

Nope its not possible to go back to ICS after updating to JB

It will brick if I try to install ICS rom with recovery? Or it will not boot? If the problem is kernel, there is no flashable ICS kernel?

Yes, it will brick because Motorola did not unlock the bootloader of this phone. You cant downgrade the bootloaders, cdt.bin and android version if you have a locked bootloader. That is why i moved to Samsung. A locked bootloader of a phone is a problem to me. It is your opinion what to choose. But a locked bootloader also can install Custom roms, root, mods etc

JB owns your soul basically now.

Question on installing ported JB roms

I'm currently on GB, do I need to install an ICS rom before I install a ported JB rom? Or can I go straight from GB (with doing a full wipe before hand of course)?

i have not asked him to flash bootloader
i said
ics bootloader is reqd for aokp roms 4.0.4 and jb 4.1.1
there are users who flash jb directly from gb roms and gb roms have gb bootloader so they went into semi brick and had to flash back to stock rom

You are probably confusing the OP. DO NOT listen to this guy.
Thanks a lot for the answers guys. Just out of curiosity, why is neerajganga saying an ics boot loader is needed? That doesn't make sense to me because I've gone from GB to ICS without ever having to touch the boot loader.

I think you are confusing bootloaders for kernels. But by calling it a bootloader you will confuse the OP into possibly screwing up their phone. I don't know if you need an ics kernel for jb. I'm just trying to clear up the misnomer.

Being what I just went through with my phone... I assured I was flashing an ICS ROM with a proper kernel. Then move up into JB. I had flashed a wrong kernel and wound up having to back track and redo allot.
May seem like more work yet taking it step by step sometimes in the end is easier. Just a word of thought from a noob who twice thought he bricked his phone. Yet now works great on CM9 thinking of moving up into CM10 soon.
The new versions of siyah and dream kernel are both ics and jb friendly may be more but these are what I use

neerajganga, I think you're in the wrong forum. This is for the ATT SGSII model I777, your sig indicates you've got an I9100 (though that confuses me because even I9100 users never need to flash bootloaders except in softbrick recoveries, just like I777).

[Q] Possible or not to install rom higher than 2.3 with out unlock bootloader?

I am new user of motorola. I follow guide line to unlock gsm on 2.3.5 it's work fine. I need to install higher rom but I not sure if I flash ICS or JB rom by CWM but still on old kernel this thing possible?
The kernel is part of the ROM, so flash away with any of the newer ICS or JB ROMs. You might be thinking of the radio.

If you are on the sprint 2.3.5, you can only use the 2.3.5 roms with bootstrap. You will soft brick your phone flashing unlocked roms with bootstrap.
thank for reply
Thank you for any reply. I hope KEXEC project for photon will solve my problem.

flashing custom roms

hello any body i flashe my asin razar maxx to britain retail jeely bean...battery life not good..can i now flash again another stock rom on it...which stock rom jeely bean gives good battery life??can i try rogers or france?? any body suggest me ..thanking u..
I admitted that battery life is kinda sucks in jellybean but ya can't flash different region jellybean like France or Rogers since ya bootloader is locked. So what all ya can do is root ya razr and try flashing some custom rom having good battery life . Ya can flash cm10 , jellywiz ,or rage rom but ya need to get root privilege first .
Please hit the thanks  if i ever helped ya !!
I'm pretty sure to use rage you need the verizon kernel, and since this guy is on eu jb kernel he can't use rage. Can't downgrade jb eu kernel to verizon jb kernel
