I want to know if the black variant suffers from serious scuffing like the iphone seems to. On one hand dat black, on the other hand I don't like visible scratches.

I was also told that by a guy in the at&t store and by a csr at HTC, that black would be available on launch day. If that's the case when I pick mine up from the store Friday (had my pre-order shipped to the store) I will exchange the silver right there on the spot.

good old mixed signal. I went back and got a different answer. I think we can still be hopeful but they may still be in the dark or don't want to tell us because stock may be low and only certain stores will get them

Definitely mixed signals. I just called my local store (central NJ), and they said that an HTC representative had been in the store earlier that day and had stated that it could be a month to two months before the black becomes available. Guess it might depend on where you are since graffixnyc is located in NYC, which i'd imagine might have priority over stores located in the suburbs.

That is not acceptable... If you are competing with Samsung who is about to release BOTH phones in 13 days you have to be ready to release the phone WHEN you said you would release it. Apple did this with the white iPhone 4... but they could at that point because they owned the market. HTC is not there so they need to have huge success on this device.... If that is true it is a dark day for HTC

I'll find out Friday. During the day I'm in the city and there are tons of AT&T stores. The one I ordered from was on 86th street which is a really busy shopping area so I think that store would have a good chance of having it on launch if some stores do get black on Friday

Will do. I only work 10 blocks from the 86th street store so you can bet your house as soon as I see it was delivered I'm rushing over there to get it. And if a Black 64gb is available I'm exchanging. The only thing I wonder is if you exchange it, do you have to give back the media link? I would think not, but you never know

I just called the 86th street store and spoke to the sales rep that took my pre-order. She told me she couldn't comment if they will have the black one until friday but told me if they do have a black one I can exchange my silver pre-order one without any problem. I am thinking that they will have it though.

Sorry turingstest, I made a mistake. the figure of £35.00 was an accumulation of purchases I had made over a couple of weeks. I only received £5.00 cashback.. I am new to the cashback scheme but I have just rechecked my Quidco account and they are saying £5.00. Sorry for the mistake.

Oh you lucky man. I just got an email from clove saying they're not getting stock until the 19th. Means I won't get it until the 24th ish. Gah!
I live in the Orlando FL area.
Today went to pre order the phone and they could not find it in their system, chatted on line with ATT rep, it was on line available but try as they might, the store guys couldn't find it....how odd.
Well I got a 50.00 discount on my phone bill as a result. They were very embarrasssed.
I understood their confusion but I am still shaking my head. Came home and didn't get it, still trying to work thru the whole experience.

Not true about the online only, if you pre-order online or in a store it will ship to your house on the 17th, 2 days before launch.

I know it's like an hour drive (depending on traffic on I-4 of course) from Orlando, but I can tell you the Best Buy in Daytona Beach is taking pre-orders. I pre-ordered mine yesterday. Maybe try the Best Buy at The Mall at Millennia.

it only shows up in the upgrade flow btw... and instead of scanning sim and imei choose search for DF devices then type in sku. you can't get it on the main df screen like you could with iphones.

I tried doing this, but the submit button was grayed out. Customer care told me I can't preorder it since my contract expires on the 29th.
I will bring in the SKU number for the white one with me this time.

That because in I wanna say September if I remember correctly at&t switched all upgrades to same month upgrades for our customers... so if it is lets say Feb 22nd for your upgrade date, you can really do it anytime in that month of February. They also switched them from the old 21 month upgrade date to 20 months instead.

no problem... i went in to upgrade my line yesterday on my day off with my manager and it wasn't showing up so I was like I'm not leaving until this is preordered lol... I had him try it that way with the sku and it came right up and was good to go as I have seen that issue in the past with a different smartphone launch.

I wouldn't read that much into it. Just like we got a "backordered" email, it just fills dates and stuff in. I'd expect it to ship by the 15th.

Yeah, the previous wording made me think we might get them earlier in the week, but now it looks like the 17th is as early as possible.
I guess its just one more reason to look forward to Friday
When i ordered mine today it said they should ship by the 16th.
Five minutes later i got an email saying it was sent to the warehouse for shipping.

I think we all got different notifications based upon the avenue in which we purchased or upgraded. I upgraded through Premier and I'm supposed to get my phone by the 17th and it is supposed to be shipped Fedex overnight. I don't think we can assume what AT&T will do until we start getting shipping notifications and tracking numbers.

Sorry to maybe bust your bubble but lol all oreders will be shipped by the 27 and everyone will get the phone on the 29th, the day of it been released if it even actually is released. I think your rep might of been confused as were the ones i talked to. But if you do get it,which i think you wont on the 28, i hope you let us know !!!
Okay yes awesome that you got to pick shipping but that doesn't mean it will be processed and shipped by tuesday. Plenty of things could hang it up and make it come thursday by 1030 am but in all honesty i wish you the best and I hope you get it weds at 1030

Meh, he could get it before that. I have heard this before, but didn't think it was true. I guess the only way you can choose S&H options is if you pay outright for the phone. Plus even further proof, some people have gotten other phones before their release date in-store, but lol @ $15 + tax for one day early, though.
I know I probably will be phoneless come 10:30 on Wednesday, but making this post somehow makes me feel better

Likely because they don't work on Saturday or Sunday. I am guessing we will all see updates, if this is true, on our delivery confirmation as of tomorrow.
That would be awesome if they shipped tomorrow instead of tue

EDIT: But yeah, crazy dad you are right. This happened before with the iPhone 5. I think some people ordered this via VZW/Apple and they were refunded the dough after because there was no overnight shipping. AKA, we all get the phone on the same day as of the release date.
Just saying with the S3 some people got it a day early, but it wasn't due to overnight shipping

Hmm, my friend said he had the option to choose when he ordered his. I guess they might've changed something in the system, which is a good sign.
edit: looks like some other people are claiming that it will ship out from wal-mart on the 27th/be in stores on the 27th.

Hope it works out for yall. I just talked to a rep to see if i could change my ship date and he just told me that it wont ship before the 27th and will only have a devlivery date of the 29th.i tried to convince him of letting me get it on the 28th and says that they wont be available to the customer until the 29th.

FYI - I did pay outright so that option may only appear in this case. I also just killed a few chickens out near the railroad tracks to ensure
the gods of phone shipments look favorably on my order.

The AT&T site says they will ship on April 16th. Who thinks we will get shipping notifications tomorrow??

theyre shipping between the 16th and the 18th and theres a high likelihood they will control when they ship it based on location so they all arrive on the 19th, no matter what method of shipping you chose. but theres also a chance it arrives a day or two early.
AT&T Rep: Oh okay, I see here that you pre order the HTC one and the shipment date is on 04/16/2013 to 04/18/2013.
Me: So it should arrive by the 19th?
AT&T Rep: Yes.
Me: Is there a possibility that it could arrive before that date?
AT&T Rep: It may be possible that it could arrive on the 18 since the shipment date is from 16th-18th.

Just received tracking number for UPS, UPS still does not show receipt, so I do not know how many days shipping they used.
Even if it is ground it will be here before Friday.

It has billing account number, order number, shipping order number, and also shows the serial numbers for the phone and sim card.
Phone number and rate plan are also shown.

Tried all the the alternate numbers on UPS, none came up. It is showing now as being picked up and sent 2 day air, so it will arrive Wednesday.
Hopefully they will not block the bootloader unlock by then, if they are even going to block it.

I switched today from tmobile to AT&T, due to very poor , piss poor service in our area, actually.We bought the htc one, a g3, and a sammy exhilaration for my mother and law
I ordered via web, and on completion told me scheduled to ship the 16th, got confirmation email,then the order proessed and sent to warehouse email, where it went into immediate back order, then, jut now came out of backorder, and into processing/pending shipment.The shipping method is overnight, so hopefully tbe 17th

I just got my htc media link, they sent me two.. now where's my phone haha :victory:
