[Q] HTC stuck on boot loader and can't restore rom - HTC One X+

Hi,
I have been looking for a solution to my problem but I couldn't find any, anywhere, here included; hopefully someone can help me out.
I have an HTC One X+ 64GB International version which I unlocked via the HTC website, rooted and flashed Android Revolution HD.
Today, after a long while, I decided to try a different rom but somehow I totally screwed up (and I can't remember the exact steps) and now my HTC is stuck on the bootloader. I tried to flash different kernel for different roms (Sense and aosp) and flashed those roms.
No luck. I am successful in flashing a kernel and a recovery but every time I try to flash a rom (IceColdJelly, Android Revolution) it fails miserably.
So, now my HTC is stuck on the bootloader and I can't seem to be able to do anything to get it to work again.
Anyone can help with a step-by-step solution? I can provide more info if needed.
Here's what the bootloader screen presents:

Okay then, I'll try to give the details of the case:
with the help of All-In-One_Kit_v2.3 and fastboot
while doing wipe, clear cache, factory reset and flash the kernel through recovery mode
the point is, I made a mistake while in recovery mode and I can not find the data that exist
I use a carrier Hutchisen from hongkong
thanks for the reply & salute :fingers-crossed:

So I guess your phone is an International/Global version.
If so, then follow the instructions in this thread.

SOLVED thank you :good::victory:

[Q] No OS installed on HTC one X

Hi,
due to being new to flashing custom ROMs i somehow managed to wipe my system, leaving me with my HTC One X stuck at the Bootloader (CWM 6.0.2.7)
I could change it to TWRP 2.4.1.0 if necessary

Since I'm pretty new to this, I dont quite know words like RUU, adb, etc.
I do have access to my Phone via Windows 7 if i mount the usb storage via recovery
I tried running a RUU.exe from androidfiles.org/ruu/?dir=Endeavor , the RADIO-2.1204.135.20 version, and ran it, but it says it cant run because its the wrong version. The troubleshooting option didnt help either.
Now i hope its possible to install the Stock ROM or any other ROM to get my phone working again.
I didnt make a backput before, so yeah, recovery doesnt seem possible.
Edit 1 : I installed CWM 6.0.2.7 and tried to make a full restore (seems like there was a backup) but now my phone just keeps restarting in a loop ...
Edit 2 : I downloaded cyanogen mod 10.1 as a *zip, and copied it to my sd card. then i flashed the boot.img, and installed the zip via recovery, but now the phone loops at the boot screen forever.
Please does someone know a solution ??
No worries, you can flash any ROM you want as you have an unlocked phone. Stock, CM, any custom ROM. These are the steps -
1. Download ROM zip. Extract boot.img from ROM.
2. Copy ROM zip to sdcard.
3. Boot into bootloader (hboot), do -
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
followed by
Code:
fastboot erase cache
4. Go to recovery from hboot, do a full wipe. Wipe all partitions that can be wiped i.e. system, factory reset/data. Factory reset also wipes cache and .android_secure, so you've wiped all partitions with these two.
5. Now flash ROM in recovery and reboot. Don't forget to download and flash gapps too if you want Google apps (most AOSP based ROMs like CM don't include them).
fastboot erase cache prevents bootloops and other problems on a fresh ROM flash. I don't think you did that before. You should be good now if you follow all the steps. Also, I'd rather recommend TWRP as it is the best recovery for the One X and many other devices. Read their changelogs and features, much more advanced than CWM. So before you do all this, download and flash the latest TWRP from http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/95
The reason the restore of your backup ended up in a bootloop is because you didn't flash boot.img before restoring. You have to do that for restoring backups too. Unfortunately it is this way because HTC gave us a crappy half unlocked bootloader (S-ON) which doesn't all low direct flashing of boot and recovery partitions. They should have given us a fully unlocked S-OFF bootloader. Anyway, if you want to restore your backup, first put your phone in recovery mode, connect your phone to computer, and mount USB storage in recovery. Now on your computer, go to the clockworkmod/backup folder in your internal memory, and copy boot.img from your backup folder. Now go into hboot, fastboot flash the boot.img and erase cache like I detailed above, then go back to recovery and restore your backup. It'll work then.
NOTE: CWM and TWRP backups are incompatible, so if you made a backup with a certain recovery, restore it using that same recovery. Then you can switch recoveries and make a fresh backup.
On a side note, asking in the HTC One X forum would have got you quicker replies.

You'll have to boot to TWRP and transfer a rom to the internal storage. If MTP mode doesn't work, or the version you are using does not support it, then you will have to use adb commands to transfer the rom zip. For some versions of TWRP, I have found that if MTP mode isn't working, you have to disable it before adb works. If you aren't able to do either one of those, then most likely it is a driver issue that you will need to address before proceeding. I find Win 7 works best with that generation of HTC phones.

[Q] Another Flyer stuck in reboot loop after flashing DextersJB18

Hello,
I have a US 3G Flyer that my friend messed up while trying to root and reflash it. He asked me to revive it.
The device was stuck at the HTC logo during boot.
It must have had HC since the HBOOT is 1.11.0011. It was unlocked through HTCDev since it says UNLOCKED in the bootloader. However, it still has S-ON. The device has Revolutionary CWM 4.0.1.4 flashed as a recovery.
I tried to follow the instructions by globatron in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18508210 to downgrade to GB in order to run Revolutionary and get S-OFF.
fastboot getvar cid gives HTC__102
However, I do not have permission to read the thread that has the download links to the RRU: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062184
So I went ahead and tried to flash DextersJB18 because it seemed from the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795342 that some people flashed it sucessfully with HTCDev unlocked S-ON devices.
I downloaded the ROM zip file and gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip, put that on the SD card, booted into CWM v4 and flashed this way:
1. Wipe factory data/reset
2. Wipe cache
3. Go into mounts and storage
4. Format /system
5. Format /data
6. Format /cache
7. Enter advanced
8. Wipe dalvik
9. Flash ROM (including wipe all) then flashed gapps
10. Booted to fastboot then "fastboot flash boot boot.img" (taken from DextersJB18.zip)
After I reboot, it never goes past the HTC logo. If I hold the power key, it shutdowns but reboots immediately. I know I go to the bootloader and say power off to prevent draining the battery.
Can someone please provide some insight into how I can get the device up and running again? Thanks. I really appreciate it.
Resolved
Well after another day of trying various things I finally got the device back up and running.
I figured out that for the HTC__102 model device I could use RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.00.405.3_R_Radio_20.3501.30.089BU_3809.05.04.10_M_release_194964_signed.exe to downgrade to Gingerbread. I googled that and found it on a random site.
After I found the correct RUU, I was able to follow globatron's instructions in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18508210 to downgrade to stock Gingerbread. The device booted OK into Gingerbread.
I then got S-OFF with Revolutionary and upgraded to Honeycomb by running ARUWizard.exe in RUU_3G_B09.zip. The device then booted OK into Honeycomb.
I then flashed DextersJB18 and gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip from CWM recovery. Initially I had weird issues like the keyboard crashing because I used gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip, which is ONLY for Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, not 4.1.1. After flashing the correct gapps, things were OK.
The device now boots into Jelly Bean! Yea!
help, cant get boot or recovery
Hi hope you can help.
I have been running my flyer rooted on stock honeycomb with no trouble. I wanted to install Dexters JB18 rom, something went wrong after the install and now i can only access hboot screens, flyer wont boot, and recovery (was cwm with no issues) just brings up htc screen with nothing else.
I have tried flashing several recovery/boot images via fastboot, without any noticable effect. I get the messages saying image is written okay from command prompt but rebooting device or attempting to enter recovery just brings me white htc screen.
I have run getvar cid and got the result htc001, but attempting to reboot using adb gives the result device not found.
this is the info on the hboot screen

adb driver?
ok, i think my issue is with adb.
with flyer in hboot so options are
fastboot
recovery
factory reset
clear storage
simlock
image crc
when i check device manager, it is listed as ADB interface, expand that and you get 'bootloader interface'
put flyer in fastboot mode, i see
bootloader
reboot reboot bootloader
power down
and the device is gone from device manager completely.
in either mode, when in adb running command 'adb devices' i get nothing, although running commands such as 'fastboot flash boot boot.img/recovery.img i get a success message after writing. 'fastboot reboot' will successfully reboot the device but it still does not boot up or enter recovery when attempted.
am i missing an adb driver or something?
Jelly Bean 1.8 No Wifi
I did the Same like you.
The device now boots into Jelly Bean! But i dont have wirless connection. It searches for wifi but dont find nothing. What should i do?

[Q] Stuck on booting screen

So I'm rather new to installing custom roms and things of this nature so bear with me. I followed the guide corrisponding with my phone to install cyanogen mod on my phone and followed all the steps exactly at first, when I got to the end I noticed that it was not booting into cyanogen mod so I made sure to search the page again when I noticed the bottom note "This device, if unlocked with HTC Dev Unlock, MUST have its kernel flashed via fastboot! Extract the boot.img from the rom zip and flash using fastboot flash boot boot.img" So I figured that must be the fix so I did exactly as it said and tried to install the rom.zip again and reboot. Now whenever I try to reboot I get stuck at the "HTC ONE" screen. Any help ?

[Q] Soft-Bricked HTC Desire 601 Zara_UL S-ON

Hello fellow Android users,
I am here to ask for your help.
Just to be clear, my phone is an HTC Desire 601 locked with FIDO, use to have Android 4.4.2, Zara_UL, Unlocked bootloader, S-ON and no OS installed.
My HTC Desire 601 has had a rough week.
Everything went well for unlocking the bootloader, rooting, installing new recovery.
Then I wanted to go S-OFF, but Firewater told me the current kernel was blocking the exploit.
So I decided to flash KofilaKernel for my device and try again. The install went well,
only problem was I wiped my cache and system and now, NO MORE OS INSTALLED and still S-ON.
Couldn't use Firewater anymore...
So I tried installing custom ROM and also tried going back to stock, miserably failing.
A. I tried flashing InsertCoin custom ROM wich failed because of S-ON (forgive noobishness)
B. I tried using "fastboot boot" command that made possible flashing custom ROM with S-ON.
I was counting on this one, but had problems too : Most recoveries wouldn't boot (ClockWorkMod several versions, TWRP several versions) except one TWRP recovery wich booted, but the touch screen WAS NOT ACTIVATED. Tried using side buttons with no luck, and power button just locked the screen. I have heard that Google has changed the fastboot boot for newer android versions and that you had to add something to the command like :
"fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot recovery.img"
This example is for Nexus 4 I think, but I don't know the one for Desire 601... I tried it and it wouldn't boot.
C. I have tried "fastboot flash system system.img" with stock image. Had an error saying not enough memory available.
I wiped everything with TWRP and with CLCKWRKMOD : System, cache, dalvik cache, etc... tried again to flash system with no luck.
D. I have tried the Telus RUU.exe file. Told me I had the wrong RUU for my phone and to find the right one, wich doesn't exist for Android 4.4.2 as far as I know.
E. I have read about 4EXT recovery and SmartFlash, but the only way to get 4EXT recovery seems to be through app and I don't have any OS so it's impossible.
There I am.
Please help a brother with unusable new phone LOL.
Thanks a bunch for any help.

Please Help me HTC Evo 3D GSM Bootloop,Cannot enter recovery,S-On 1.53.007

Hi All
Please please help me...
I was on stock ICS rom hboot 1.53.007 (S-On),battery drained out..and suddenly it started bootlooping.
Now i am in bootloop for 3 weeks.I have tried many recovery methods like installing ICS ruu, flashing boot.img,
I have read many threads, tried many steps, but still bootlooping.
Please help me..
I am able to enter the bootloader and i am htc dev unlocked.
Thank you
Sorry for my bad English
Try ruu again, also remove SD card and test.
Thank you so much for the reply,
I have tried it again....still in bootloop..
I think my 3d does not recognise boot.img.
Is there anything I could do to recover my 3d.
It would be good if you wrote which method you used to unlock the bootloader.

Hi Thank you for the info..
Would you be able to share the download link for the RUU, which he( digitalyyy) may have used in the above thread (16 th post).
i have already tried this one http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...00U_11.25.3504.06_M_release_262714_signed.exe, but no success.
i had used the htcdev unlock method:
fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_code.bin
Someone Please help me...
Need suggestion
Sorry for the bump.. I'm pretty much in the same boat with @princeof, stuck in boot loop and can't access recovery. I've tried these methods, but to no avail:
Flashed another recovery through fastboot (cwm 4.014 / cwm 5.020 / twrp 2.0, just the same).
Flashed boot.img (from my current Cool-ICS v18 ROM). Even after both of these are successfully flashed, it still goes into boot loop. I then use fastboot commmand to reboot-bootloader, try to access both boot.img and recovery, but still no dice, it'll just reboot the device into another boot loop.
Flashed RUU (tried the one suggested in the post above and another version that used to work); no luck.
Unlocked bootloader
Shooteru S-OFF
Hboot 1.49.0007
Is there any other method that you guys can recommend? I do have Nandroid backup, so if I can just get into recovery then I'm all set!
Edit: Finally got it to work!
Through PhilZ recovery, I wiped everyhing in sight (lol) and was able to use custom restore to partially restore my Nandroid backup (since it won't restore .android_secure, I got to extract it manually). Also, before the restore process, I need to disable MD5 check, coz it keeps complaining about missing fsinfo.md5 even though the nandroid.md5 is there. After that, I finally able to flashed & go into 4Ext to do a full restore properly.
