I'm currently on my 2nd 3vo....the new one is actually worst than the 1st because it keeps spontaneously rebooting/freezing. And on top of that STILL shows 4g signal (full bars at times). But has NO connection to the internet at all. I'm curious if anyone else has had the same issue ?....I love the phone but I'm really regretting switching over from sprint...and honestly contemplating canceling service before my 30 days are up.

I'm in Braintree Mass. right now and have been having issues the past 2 days. If it keeps up then I will call Sprint tomorrow and complain.
Yeah sometimes when I'm on 4G I have the bars but don't have any connectivity at times. A few times when i turned off 4G my EVO3d would not connect to 3g until i pulled the battery and rebooted

It's really aggravating...I have no problem with 3g at all...but 4g is a nightmare ! I'm almost thinking of switching to an EVO 4g instead lol

Same here. Just switched to sprint two days ago for this thing, horribly unimpressed. 200kbps 3G and constant freezes which require a battery pull (which is a pain with an otterbox on). Does anyone know if HTC/Sprint are aware of these issues?

When i had it replaced the tech mentioned there's supposed to be a ota update to address the various issues with the 3vo.

sometimes i'll have 5 bars and no or very slow connection. other times i'll have 1 bar and 200kb/s. so i'd say it's getting better right now as before i'd have a hard time breaking 100kb.

I have had that problem in the past...
... When I had my 4G, it was infrequent network issues that caused that.
The 3D seems to be pretty bad about holding all signals/connections (WiFi, 4G, 3G, voice, etc.).
Sprint has been fine for me here in the mid-atlantic for years. It is this 3D device that has been flake-tastic lately. I am likely going back to a "plain-old" Evo before my 30days with the new phone are up.
I'm getting slower 4G connection than 3G.
I wonder if they thoroughly test the phones before releasing them ?

Been having that exact problem at work, two or three bars showing for 4g but nothing happens when I try to load pages (or do anything that requires data for that matter) its off and on though because later in the day the phone will be humming right along until it happens again... Took my wife's 4g with me yesterday to see if it was my 3vo but both phones had the same problem...

For the past 3-4 hours, my TB has shown 3-4 bars of signal but there is no 4g or 3g symbol next to the bars. When I go to surf the web or even do anything else it just doesnt load. Is the network down or what? I have a friend next to me with a droid 2 and his service is working fine so I'm wondering whats wrong.
Try putting it in Airplane mode, then back out.

Hmm, I've had a similar problem since late last night/early this morning. If I'm on 3G I have 3-4 bars but never get an active 3G connection. I can however switch to LTE only and after a couple reboots get 4G. I've tried toggling airplane and mobile data but that didn't help at all. Are you in North Eastern Florida by chance? The Thunderbolt uses a different kind of 3G from other 3G phones so it's entirely possible for us to not have 3G when other people do.
One time that happened to me , I took out my SIM card , put it back in and rebooted . After that I had a signal.

Currently I'm at work and I dont know the password here so no wifi. But I do have it at home. I'll try your sim card trick and see if that works

I had the same problem. I reset down to stock rom s-on. I did anything and everything. Since my wife has the same phone and hers had data symbol but mine didn't. But 24 hours later it went back on.... They already sent me a replacement but I sent it back. My was new. So I would suggest waiting 24 hours.

yeah, forgot to say mine is running stock, not rooted. still nothing.im gonna go to the verizon store and see whats up

They'll mostlikely give you another one like they did mine. But like I said it came back on 24 hours later plus when i pull the battery and first boot up ill get 1x then when 3g pops I get no data icon.
I even swap my sim to my wife's tbolt and works great. Good luck

For some reason I haven't been able to cnnect to LTE here in Olympia, WA. Works great 3-4 bars on my Nexus, anyone else around here having problems? Voice works fine, and I am getting full 4g signal.

You're in oly there's your problem. .....I kid. If settings didn't work then yes sim card could be an issue. Don't think mine has dropped LTE since I got it. But I left the nw for the warm South.
I'm in Portland, and I have no 4G connection for some reason. I activated my phone online and it told me to use the sim card that was in my gnex. I've even tried to switch my preferences from global to CDMA/LTE but no go. I should have full bars where I'm at.
My phone just stays on 3G.
*EDIT*
Decided to call Verizon and activate the sim card that came w/ the Note and 4G is working so all is well. Kinda weird you have to activate a new sim each time you get a new phone...
I live in Puyallup WA and I have full bars 4G just like I had with my Galaxy Nexus and Razr Maxx. I used to get poor reception in big department stores with my GN, so far the Note 2 has gotten better reception in the same stores.

Hi everyone, I'm new to AT&T and HTC. I'm confused on how the networks should switch.
The area I'm in doesn't have LTE yet so lets leave this out of this
I'm having a signal issue at work. Where I sit I get 3 sometimes 2 bars (-97 to -101dBM) on the 4G network. But data doesnt work. When I use the browser it say error connecting to network and I when I run speed test it either doesnt find a tower or just sits on ping test.
When I look at mobile network type it keeps flipping between HSDPA and HSPAP. I've never see the phone change to the edge or G network unless my battery is almost dead.
Does this sound right or could I have a messed up radio? It does work great when the signal is in the -70s.
Please help. Wondering if my phone is messed up. It is still stock, locked bootloader, unrooted at the moment.

Have you done simple troubleshooting like turn phone on airplane mode, or factory reset?

Well someone else with at&t came over to my area and there phone didn't work either. Just scrappy at&t signals.

To turn off LTE, open dialer, type in "*#*#4636#*#*", then click "phone info", you will see "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" in the middle of the setting page. Switch to "WCDMA preferred" to use only 3G without LTE. You can also choose "GSM" to use only edge network.
Is there not an App or Widget that can toggle LTE and Edge networks?
I have my HTC One since release and it has been working flawless, However, after I updated to 4.3 I began to notice that my LTE speed was getting slower, now I can't even access the internet anymore without using wifi. Calling and texting works fine. On the top right it has 4g LTE with 3 to 4 bars but no internet access.
I put in my dad's SIM Card and it was working flawless. Is anyone else having this problem? How much will it cost my to get a new SIM Card?

If you go to a T-Mo owned store, not a franchise, they generally replace them free. You can tell which stores are owned on their website.
