I received my carbon fiber skin last week (back only) from icarbons.com and this thing is so great I needed to share with everyone...
The skin covers the entire back, it was very simple to install, the fit is perfect (used a hair dryer to make sure corner edges were down) and there is no "bubbling" effect. The best part IMO is the feel of this skin. It's not like your typical glossy sticker feeling cheap-o skin, it has a nice grip feeling if that makes any sense and the quality is top notch.
Here’s a link directly to the skin.

Looks good!
Amazing this skin! When I will have my Evo 3D (in few months snif...), I will buy it!
Thanks to share that with us!
that looks clean!!
How good is the texture?

Only thing I can think of to compare it to is it almost feels like the ridges on the oem battery door.
It's pretty nice feeling, as it doesnt feel like just a sticker is on the phone - more like its natural and a part of the phone.
I bought one!
Finally broke down and bought this skin for my MacBook Air... I love it, not as hard to install as I thought it would be.
With a little time, an exacto knife and some extreme patients and a steady hand you could make a carbon fiber skin just like the OP's yourself. Here is a link to an Ebay search for Carbon Fiber samples. You could also search Google. Most of these are 4" by 8" samples for $1.99. There are some larger samples for $5. I think there may even be a tut on how to do it in the OG Evo forums. Of course the holes cut would be different, but the concept is the same.

Correct! I did this to my white Evo 4G. I bought a black battery door and wrapped it in the carbon fiber. It turned out awesome an no one believed that I made it because it looked sooooo good. The feel of the material is very nice. I used it for a few months and it looked like it did the day I put it on the entire time. I just received my stock 3D battery door that I bought on eBay. I considered doing the carbon fiber to it, but I'm afraid that the texture on the stock door may cause issues. I may just paint a red stripe on my extra door, haven't decided yet. Also, i plan on buying a big sheet of the carbon fiber anyway to wrap the top of my new 17" HP Envy laptop. with the extra I'll probably try my 3D battery door. If it doesn't turn out good then I can just peel it off.... we'll see

Went on eBay ab ordered 2 "sample" sheets. They are each 4" x 8" each. Got one in red carbon fiber and one in white carbon fiber. In about an hour I'm going to get a 24" x 48" black carbon fiber sheet. Going to wrap the top of my 17" HP laptop and will have enough extra to do my battery door in black also. I'm thinking I may wrap the smooth part of my Commuter case in the red.

Damn... the price is what killed it for me. That looks sooooo good though... if only someone was up to making legitimate carbon fiber battery doors. I don't care about the price, I'd buy one in seconds.

I agree about the price. That's why i bought the material to make my own. .99 cents to1.99, and free shipping, for a sheet of carbon fiber big enough to cover the battery door and camera area

I want to get a protector for my Prime, any input on which methods is better, ie. lasts longer and better protection?
And by Skinimi I mean Skinomi..
My last Skinomi on my phone ended up peeling off, but fwiw the skin seemed very durable and strong. Almost like a thin plastic cover. I could still dock my phone with the skin on.
I like the metal finish, so no skinomi for me this round.
I've used several skins (zagg, skintech, skinomi). I like the skinomis better than the others. Just get the screen cover, not the full jacket. Installing has always been easy and I've only experience problems when dust gets under the corners, like on my epic 4g after I've taken it in and out of my pocket a million times. I can't imagine with the prime it's going to get much dust under the corners. I think it makes the screen touch feel better as well, and then you never have to worry what you wipe the screen with. The dry covers to me, add a strange thickness and change the optics of viewing the screen... Just my 10 cents!
Thanks for the info guys!! Really I am will to take anything at the moment because there is nothing in Canada yet!!!

I really like my skinomi screen protector. Pretty nice feel, not too much of a difference if any in sensitivity. Its as close to invisible as I figure it will get. The bubbles were also impressive, because they sort of "breathed" out of the skin. It was odd to see considerable bubbles disappear in hours.
I was gonna put my skinomi protector on but I stuck with just the skin because my prime is usually in the dock so the chances of scratching in the dock are very unlikely

I have both the skinomi carbon fiber skin and the wet-application screen protector on mine, both are fantastic.
Putting the vinyl back and tiny pieces on is soooo much easier with a heat gun! A really hot hair dryer would probably suffice, but you will need one or the other.

I want a clear screen protector too and I wouldn't mind having something clear for the back but I don't want it messing up if I eventually get the dock. So the Skinomi is one of the best. I found cheaper ones on Amazon like 3 for 8.99 and I found this one 2-Pack Stealth Shieldz© ASUS eee Pad TRANSFORMER PRIME TF201 Screen Protector LIFETIME WARRANTY (Ultra CLEAR) for 14.99 and you get two. I want whatever will be easy for him to put on and what will look the most invisible and still be able to have good touch sensitivity. Should I put a clear skin on the back too? Does Skinomi sell a combo pack with both in it? Thanks!
Has anyone had any experience with the Skinomi full-body protector and the TF Prime keyboard dock?
I want to get a skin for the back of the tablet mainly to prevent fingerprints (this thing is a fingerprint factory) but I also have the keyboard dock and I don't want to shell out for a skin if the dock is just gonna scrape it off.
Is there any further word on the updated full body skins from Skinomi? If I recall correctly someone posted that Skinomi is going to come out with a version that has a cutout at the bottom so it doesn't interfere with docking.

I have applied the Skinomi carbon fiber Design Skin on the back of the Prime (did not install the TechSkin screen protector), and so far have not noticed any problems with the skin being scraped or loosened by inserting the Prime in the keyboard dock. I like the texture and additional grip that the carbon fiber skin provides, as well as reducing the "coldness" of the bare aluminum back.
Note: I've only had the Skinomi skin on for a few days, so will update this response if I notice any issues.
I just want a clear skin for the back and a protector for the front. Not sure what to order still. I may eventually get the dock too. But the back of mine is always cold.

I didn't get a chance to read this forum so i ended up damaging the front screen protector when i dock it to the keyboard. I already contact skinomi about it and they reply back :
We would like to apologize for any inconvenience. Our design team is in the midst of correcting this issue. The moment we have corrected this design we will be sending you a new revamped screen/skin protector. If you have anymore questions or concerns please feel free to contact our customer service department. Have a great day!.
So i guess i'll update my post when they do send me or contact me about a new replacement.
Hey guys, just received my skinomi tablet skin and screen protector today. I've only see pics of the carbon fiber one posted on this forum so I decided to share pics of the brushed steel one. I only have the backplate skin pictures since the screen protector looks horrendous right now (bubbles and stuff, which takes a couple days to form a proper seal).
Pics with keyboard dock in page 3.
Does anyone else see the irony in covering a spun steel look with a brushed steel look?

So besides your irrelevant question, what do you think?

I have been strongly considering getting the Skinomi clear skin for this very reason. I love the color of my Amethyst Grey tablet, but the spun steel collects fingerprints like crazy.
Do you have the dock? If you have, how does the skin fit with it?

Yea I was debating that, but I don't regret my choice. The brushed steel gives it a unique look, while at the same time keeping the professional stock look of the tablet.
I ordered the keyboard dock through BB but it hasn't arrived yet. I will update you whenever it does
I have never used a skin to cover a backplate or skinomi for that matter.
What is the process for removing this thing? Does it end up ruining the backplate with sticky goo if you try to removed it?
thanks for the help.

I am pretty sure that Skinomi's DryTech skins come off cleanly with no residue. I have used similar skins from other retailers (DecalGirl) and they all came off very cleanly.
Here is a video review of the Carbon Fiber style skin being used on a Macbook, and the reviewer demonstrates that is comes over very cleanly.

I wouldn't say it was irrelevant, but you're entitled to your opinion.
I think that the look of anything but the clear skin just makes the back look tacky. Not so much because of the skin choice, but because the cuts are not 100% accurate. I just can't bring myself to get one because of this.

I want the carbon fiber skin but I'm hesitant because I've seen pictures where it looks almost perfect and others where it looks like crap. I definitely want a skin just not sure if I should get clear or carbon fiber.
I've used a skinomi on my phone before and it really is very strong in terms of protection.
However, since they are not permanent they eventually peel off, depending on how you handle the thing, of course. Constantly moving my phone in and out of my pocket inevitably led it to catch a thread and begin the peeling process.
With a tablet it may be different. I have a netbook bag I use (my wife calls it my man purse ) so it may still face the same dangers of getting caught on my bag fabric and peel off...
As far as the dock, the tablet is pretty snug in it, so I also wonder if the skinomi is thin enough to not bend the connector too much out of place.
The screen protector is top notch though. Took about a week for the bubbles to go away, but it's so nice.
Isn't it gorilla glass? I would never put a screen protector in it, unless fingerprints are much of a concern (SOME protectors do help with that).
However, I really would like to find a quality clear skin for the back. Does the dock have rubber feet? If not, I can see it will get scratched, badly.

That is why I made sure it was a clear screen protector. I got it because the product comes with the screen protector and backplate protector. I didn't like how my fingers dragged on the stock screen and how it attracted so much finger prints. I'm loving the screen protector because it eliminates that and feels very smooth. Also, it doesn't change the screen quality one bit . If you get one of those matte finish anti-glare screen protectors then that would be different..

Does anyone have any experience with these skins?
How do they feel and how durable are they?
I like that the back is all one piece (unlike the Skinomi) and that it fully surrounds the speaker which seems like an area where my Skinomi will eventually peel up (sharp corners = no no) but I don't want a screen protector that I can detect. If their screen protectors are similar to the SGP Ultra Crystal series though I might be convinced to pick one up.
From past experience, I believe its an invisible shield kind of feel to their screen protector too.
Anyone have more recent experience please correct me if I am wrong
I would buy one to replace my skinomi in a heartbeat as I had a lot of troubles with skinomi's separate side/edge pieces. But alas, it does not have a cut out for the dock, and this is a necessity for me.
Were they to make one with a cutout though...

Do you really need a cutout for the Dock? I have a clear Skinomi skin on the back of my TF Prime and I use it with the keyboard dock all the time with no problems? The only slight issue is that the foam pad inside the dock leaves an imprint on the skin, however it fades a few minutes after taking the tablet out of the dock.
I would recommend Best Skins Ever also. I kept checking their site for Prime versions...but up until a few days ago, there was no application available.
Got the Xtreme skin protector from eBay which is not great. Once applied, the Xtreme version is somewhat sticky (even though I tried invisishield spray...might try some wax next...front screen protector has dark cuts from being squeegeed out from applying - ordered dry application screen protectors).
Would definitely go with Best Skins. No problems so far on my HTC Sensation (since 9/2011) and wifey's ipad 2 (back only since it came out last year).

Yes, because I use a matte screen protector on the front and it is distinguishably thicker than a regular, glossy screen protector. :-\ Otherwise it'd be no problem.

How hard is it to apply? I've driven myself crazy trying to apply some screen protectors. The main problem is soon as I get done clearing out all the dust/particles then seconds later more dust/particles plop right back on to the screen. I REFUSE to lay down the screen protector on any dust and I just can't find how to do this without ANY dust anywhere. It's just all over. Seems like I need operating room environment.

Quick question, if I just get the "body skin", that means I'm getting the back protector right? I'm only interested in back protection, as I prefer the traditional stiff glossy protectors for my screens.
I already have the Xtreme protector, but it doesn't protect the back bezel, which is a no no for me.
Thanks in advance

Anyone try out the body skin with the keyboard dock yet? Already have some small scratches on the back of my tablet.
I'm running with a skinomi full skin until after I RMA. (no issues with the dock^)
I ordered the full body version from BSE though. I must say there are a few things I like better about the cutouts.
On the screen, the skinomi has a cutout for the camera, and the light sensor. The BSE only has a cutout for the camera. In my opinion this is better as the other one isnt necessary.
Also, instead of two holes for the camera and flash on the back its one figure 8 shaped hole.
The skinomi also has a cutout for the Asus logo. The BSE is one solid piece. No cutout for the logo.
And finally, the skinomi has little side pieces. The BSE the back and sides are all one piece. The back curls around to the sides.
Thats all I've got... I think this one is a better design over the zagg and skinomi skins.
UPDATE
Best skins ever just released dock compatible versions of everything and a total body skin which includes a skin for the dock. They have it on special since its just released.

Yea, I got scratches from putting it on stuff like grains of salt and other impurities on the table. It was really awful having to worry about the surface I put it on. Ive been so much more at east now that I got the carbon fiber skinomi skin. It looks nice and protects from scratch (and hides old ones)
Yeah the back scratches quite easily. Mine already has a few but it doesn't really bother me that much. If you are worried about it there are some clear and patterned skins available, take a look in the accessories forum.

I've got one big nasty scratch that goes from the asus logo up to the camera area. It's pretty deep and i have no clue how it got there. At first i hated myself for scratching the back but now i don't care anymore. As long as the screen is fine it's ok i think.
Thankfully the screen is protected when you take it on the road with the dock.
Until I get a Skinomi, I'm going to keep my Prime on a microfibre cloth, the soft case I'm using to carry it around, or my bed.
I'm going to completely baby this thing.
I have some and i dont care. Its something i use so it will look "used" after a while. I'm fine with that.

If you are worried about scratches, I would really recommend the Skinomi clear skin for the back of your Prime. Not only does it help protect from scratches, but it also makes it easy to wipe fingerprints off the back. Oh, and it looks great!

Yeah. The back scratches really easily. I personally don't care about scratches on the back though. I'm not starting at the back when I use the tablet. As long as the screen stays scratch free, I'm happy. That's why the transleeve I'd perfect for me.

The regular one gets scratched up and peels if you dock it a few times. No reason to get the regular one if you are going to dock it.
