Why do you concern which country it was made ?
There are only two country AFAIK that make hTC devices. Check your serial no. the first two alphabet.
HT = Hsinchu, Taiwan
SH = Shanghai, China

Which threat?

close all the tabs with xda, open google, learn a bit about these phones and after several days, come back, use search, browse threads and then ask. Everything is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmvCpR45LKA

Hehe I find my cid HTC_044....it does not tell me my country.u .get that?..stop that **** or I can too write them

I am on my second box of popcorn now

Hey HTC manufacturing units are only in Taiwan and China, not in india. in Indian version cid is HTC_038 and it has hindi language input method also.
sent from my HTC DX

It's not necessary that all Indian sets are cid 038.... In Pakistan, we have some with 038
And some with 044.
Mine is 044.
@ OP. for all intents and purposes, any update, modification, downgrade, depends on many factors which include cid as well.
But. The country of production is irrelevant.
The country will be important only as a general knowledge.
If you have cid 044, then you and me, and ckpv5 and theandroidmanual, are on same cid and we can help you restore to stock, updates OTA n other stuff.
Just send private message to any of above people. I'll let the mods know to close this thread.
Regard
Yasir

OK, guys chill out.
OP please follow the advice neXus prime gave you and contact one of that guys. Additionally I have to tell you that a bit of reading before posting is expected on xda and a LOT of threads would have told you that the country of origin has nothing to do with the RUU you need. Only the CID counts. Otherwise all we Europeans would have to flash Asian roms, lol.
On the other hand there is no reason to flame, curse or use offensive language against another user, and some of you will hear that from me personally.

ICS rolling out in Europe? Really?

Hi Folks,
i just had a look on the german samsung facebook page.
I asked about news regarding the ics release date for the i9100g.
They pointed me to an answer they gave last wednesday.
They told us, that ICS for the i9100g is actually rolling out in other european countries. (others than germany)
My Question now is: can ANYBODY confirm this?
I'm afraid i know the answer right now ... So please - tell me that I'm wrong
no usable ics for i9100G.

Ics its not released yet.
Just wait and be patiently...

It's possible if there are some country codes that we don't know yet, unlikely though.
i know that is isn't released yet - that was why i'm wondering about the answer i got via facebook - and i just want to verify it.
So we can summarize: Samsung Germany is definitely not telling the truth
Carphone warehouse UK is rolling out ics with the i9100 very very soon. I work for them so i can confirm this

Dude, this is not a questions forum or a forum you have any business posting topics in.
Use the General or Q&A forum. There is even a dedicated G variant Q&A stickied to top of thsi forum, It doesnt take a genius to work out where you should be posting, Just take a look at the topics in the dev forum, does yours resemble anything remotely like those?
hm - so i'm wrong here ... cool
had a look into the mentioned q+a sticky ... looks more than a dev-sticky ...
anyway ... if you are that rule-fixed - simply delete my thread and ignore the "news" - seems nobody is interested in a new / other ics leak than the chinese one ...
thanks for the warm welcome! *thumbsup*

If you want to post "news" put it into the correct section and you may get a better "welcome".
Common sense dictates that when you visit a forum you look for the most appropriate forum for your topic. If you had done that you would have quickly noticed that this specific forum is for developments from devs and not for questions or non-dev topics. This is why we also have dedicated general and QUESTIONS forums.

Stupid rumor. Why do they shouldn't release ICS in Germany but ex. in UK should ? LOL. Btw, ICS is still unavailable at all, maybe some test versions in Asia. When ICS will be officially available, then absolutely in all countries.

If we talk about the I9100G, then ICS is not released at all for that model. Sooner or later it will. Just need to wait an official update in Kies or sammobile.com. P.S. if your question is about the G model, then post it in right section, cuz i'm distracted...

Where can I find a Three UK ROM?

Stupidly I never made a backup of my official ROM, and now I'm thinking I should try and get hold of one, in case the phone ever needs to go back.
Any ideas where I can find this specific ROM? I know that when I used to have HTD phones, the ROMs used to get leaked left right & centre, and you could get hold of any service provider ROM for any country quite easily.
I found one on samsungs firmware downloads.

If you want to know the seller PM me due to rules against posting that kind of information.

[Q] new newbie GS3

Good afternoon gentlemen.
I recently picked up a GS3 here in Thailand. Man I like this phone. I rooted it, have clockwork mod and Titanium backup. Been familiarizing myself with these and some other settings. Cant put it down lol.
I live 6 mos in Thailand and 6 mos in USA. I plan to bring this phone to America and use it there in summer. Any tips on that would be appreciated.
Model # is GT-I9300
Android Ver. 4.1.1
Kernel Ver. 3.0.31-288630
Been thinking of flashing a rom or two also. Are there ones that would work here in Thailand as well as the U.S.?
Will my version of Jellybean work in the us if I do nothing?
Thanks in advance.
Jim
Yeah, depends on the carrier. Check what US carrier supports your phone's frequencies, and you should be fine. T-Mobile should work
And don't create duplicate threads.

If you had an EFS partition backup, you could possibly.
But I know TWRP recovery doesn't have that option in the M8.
I don't know if this is a limitation of the device, or the recovery.
That really needs to get added to twrp for this device. Saved my previous phone (e970) several times.

Yes its perfectly legal because its being done to bring your phone back to its original carrier. I have had people that do this sort of thing say it takes a couple hours just to do the old model htc one. So I dont understand how it could possibly be that easy unless there is software or equipment out to do it.
