HTC amaze white boot screen logo - HTC Amaze 4G

Hi...my name is Prince...I'm from India , Kerala
I have a 'HTC amaze 4g - UNBRANDED for Asia' after installing custom rom...I did not update it to ics
Its stuck on the htc boot screen...
First , i unlocked the bootloader by following the instructions from htcdev.com
Then i installed the recovery TWRP 2.3.3.0 from HTC Amaze 4g All in One Kit by hasoon2000
Then i rooted from the recovery by installing a file called 'supersu.zip' by installing it from the sd card..
It rooted properly..
Then i downloaded the custom rom and then installed it from the recovery mode..
After then it becomes stuck on the htc white screen...If tried the cm10 rom , it gets to the home screen , then gets stuck within 10secs..
Currently I installed the 4EXT recovery..I flashed the zip file named 'ruby_unsigned_021812_031444.zip' as instructed by jauhien on some thread(Cannot post any links because xda does not allow me to)..But still gets stuck on the htc white screen..
:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:I'm all tensed up bcoz my dad's gonna kill me for this...Please help me from where i should start...Hope you guys will help me.:crying::crying::crying::crying:

Which Rom is currently installed on your device?
---------- Post added at 11:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:53 PM ----------
Well, you are missing kernel as you are s-on, that's why you device stuck at HTC logo,
For now download hasoon aio kit from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493905
Read all the instructions very carefully before using it...
Extract aio kit on your pc.
Extract your current Rom.zip file on your pc,find a file named as boot.img, put this file to hasoon kit>data>kernel folder,
Disable any antivirus installed on your pc,disable htc sync
Reboot your phone into fastboot mode, connect it via usb cable to your pc,run hasoon toolkit and hit the flash command on kernel section, after flashing reboot your device
If i've helped you then hit the thanks button...

I have got the gb rom installed currently on my device...that gb rom was downloaded from the page where aj_2324 has mentioned..I will try what you said..So if i s-off , will be able to run properly ?

glad to see you are happy now
no... for custom roms just flash 4ext recovery and root your device and you are okay for now,but after flashing custom ROM,you have to flash boot.img of installed ROM...
now you may hit the thanks button...

I installed cm10 rom from 4ext recovery after wiping the current tmobile gb rom's data and wiping cache dalvik etc..
I flashed its boot.img using the kit..
It gets into the homescreen of cm10
The phone then hangs within 10secs...
I had the same even when i did not flash the boot.img seperately...
I tried bricking the phone by flashing this rom and many other custom roms before..For all other custom roms , sometimes the starting logos those custom roms wud be shown ,, for some it would get stuck on the htc screen , for cm10 it would get stuck within 10secs after reaching home screen..why is that?? I have seen that it should be done like this to custom rom
"""""
[GUIDE] Now, i will explain step-by-step how to MANUALLY upgrade from GB to ICS on an UNBRANDED Amaze, and hopefully avoid the headache others are facing.
1.) Make sure you have required HTC drivers installed
2.) Download Hasoon's All-In-One Toolkit
3.) Unlock your bootloader through htcdev.com (hasoon's toolkit can help)
4.) Now perform S-Off. You have to be on Stock Ruu to perform S-OFF, so best to do it now while you are still on stock
5.) Once you successfully S-OFF your device, you will then need to SuperCID your device
6.) When your device is S-Off and has SuperCID, you can then download this Amaze_ICS_RUU ..Rename the RUU to PH85IMG.zip and place it on the root of your EXTERNAL SDcard. Once this file is on the SDcard, do a battery pull, then turn the device back on while holding down the VOLUME DOWN button. it will prompt you to install, select yes and YAY, you will now be on ICS.
7.) Take the PH85IMG of the RUU off of your SDcard, and then put this PH85IMG of HBOOT on to the SDcard. Repeat the same instructions as step 6 to flash this IMG.
8.) Congratulations, you now have stock ICS. If you would like to flash custom ICS or JB roms, continue with steps 9 & 10
9.) Finally, Use Hasoon's toolkit to, Flash 4EXT Recovery AND
10.) Then to flash supersu.zip to gain root (also done using hasoons toolkit)
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''
(I am not becoming over smart or anything by saying something but its just because i have seen something and this time even after flashing the boot.img of cm10,it did not work )

You will only be able to flash custom roms based on GB. If u want to flash roms based on ICS or JB, u will first have to s-off, superCID, and then flash an ICS RUU

I have installed the gb rom you have mentioned in your post (the pos about getting stuck at htc white screen)
So standing on that rom , should i s-off and supercid my device and install the ics rom..Is the gb rom you mentioned a custom gb rom?? For s-offing , wehave stand on stock gb rom?? Will be able to s-off standing on this rom ??

Calm down. Just do as he said, s off, supercid, and install the ICS FIRMWARE. After that you can flash whatever the hell amaze rom you want to.

Sorry...ALways getting excited too much..
I will try to s-off my device ..

I s-offed my device...
Then i got into the fastboot usb..
Then i tried to super cid and it shows on the pc that device not found error...what should i do now?

When i try to write 4ext by using Hasoons Kit , it shows
sending 'recovery' (6348 KB).
OKAY [ 1.326s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 1.638s
Also , now on top op the bootloader it shows LOCKED..does this mean that bootloader has been locked again or so...
Under the LOCKED it shows , S-off
So cant i write a recovery to the phone ??

It worked !! I super cided my phone...I falshed the old gb rom from 4ext
Then i installed the ics rom by renaming it to PH85IMG.zip , it updated successfull within the hboot and then restarted..
Then renamed ph85img.zip and then updated it successfully and then successfully updated it also (jb hboot) and asked to press power button to restart. It then turns off and does not restart .I have to manually turn it on again. It then boots into the gb rom. When i checked the software version , it shows 2.3.4 and sense 3.0 itself..
Sohave i not applied the ics successfully ?? Now can i install any custom rom??

Just to get you back on your phone, boot into recovery, do a full wipe, then flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318942
It's a stock ROM, but it's rooted. As long as you're GSM, you should be fine.
I've seen people with worse problems and they fixed it!
If you have any more questions, just ask!

Of course it's good for S-ON phones.
On a GSM EVO 3D, you flash this before going S-OFF, haha.
Hi,
Ive got similar problem. My Hboot is 1.53.0007 with S-ON. few days ago I tried to instal DSP manager for ICS but it didnt work, After flashing DSPmanager.zip the built -in music player did not have equalizer option anymore, so I decided flash stock ICS rom again to get it work properly.
At first I relock bootloader (RELOCK has shown) and then I wanted to flash it as update from main menu. But I couldn't get to boot up no more. I can access to bootloader, can flash recovery, or 4ext recovery, can flash the rom, but cannot downgrade Hboot to i.e. 1.49.018, and any flashed rom doesnt boot up, only shows HTC logo, then for 2 second booting flashed rom screen appears and then reboot- over and over again.
Have I bricked my device? I was looking for any working PG86IMG.zip, but nothing works. After trying to flash PG86IMG.zip it does nothing . I can also unlock device via fastboot, cause generated CODE.bin is always the same, so I neednt to do unlock via HTCDev.com. Also I cant flash this ICS update rom :OTA_SHOOTER_U_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.28.401.1-1.20.401.8_release_2627623qpt0ma8rnwgn0qq.zip

You're device isn't bricked, it's in a bootloop.
If you can get into recovery, try flashing KingCobraICS V1.2. Make sure it's 1.2.
Otherwise, you can try flashing the ROM I posted above, it's a stock rooted GB ROM. Message me if you can't get this fixed.

Thanks, thanks and one more thanks. I flashed KingCobraICS V1.2, but only stuck on the splash screen (HTC logo), then, via fastboot I flashed follows:
Kernel:
3.0.16-ge733189: boot.img
and then
Firmware:
11.77.3504.00U_11.25.3504.06_M: PG86IMG.zip
and device succesfully booted up an android, but I didnt have a SIM card inside, so on the screen was SAFE MOD written, so I turned off EVO and instal SIM card. When I have turned on EVO again it froze on the BEATS AUDIO splash screen. So I again did flash same rom KingCobraICS V1.2 and now everything is working properly.
One more question- what should I do when I want to stock ICS rom? I am really afraid to do anything due to previous complicaions. Can I flash GB stock rom and consequently ICS update.

Why would you want the Stock ICS ROM?
But, if you do want it, you'll need to flash the Stock GB RUU, make sure you have the stock HTC Recovery, and then lock your bootloader.
After that, you should be find to accept the OTA Update.

The reason you at stuck is because of your hboot 1.53.0007 and s-on you must downgrade and s-off then if you want you can re s-on

One of the reason is some not working stuff in Cobra's rom, in rom 1.2 wifi doesnt work and all patches dont work aswell, At rom 1.6 mobile data connection doesnt work. But, I still cant flash GB stock rom. Its cause Im not S-OFF I think. Have no luck to get work other rom except Cobra's. So Im at cobra 1.2 for now and trying to get another working rom to my EVO. Yesterday I tried to flash stock bootloader, no succes, and I cant flash 4ext touch recovery anymore. Only cwm 4.0.x.x I can flash now. i dont know why. I have to keep trying and there must be succes in the end.

[q] htc amaze stuck on logo-plz help

oK SO I GONE THROUGH AND TRIED TO FIND A WAY TO GET MY AMAZE TO WORK- I USED HANSOON TOOL TO UNLOCK AND ROOT MY DEVICE. iM ROOTED AND I DO NOT HAVE S OFF. eVERYTHING HADF BEEN FINR AFTER ROOTING THE PROBLEM SEEM TO START AFTER TRING TO M,AKE A NANDROID BACKUP IN TWRP RECOVERY AFTER IT FINISHED I TRIED TO RESTART AND ALL I GET IS THE HTC LOGO SCREEN- I HAVE GONE IN AND TRIED INSTALLING THE RRI FILES I BEILEVE AND STILL HAVE HAD NO LUCK DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY HELP U CAN SUGGEST TO GET MY PHONE BACK UP AND RUNNING- MY BOOTLOODERS ARE UNLOCKED I CAN GET TO FAST BOOT AND HBOOT- AND CAN GET TO RECOVERYBUT WONT LOAD
First of all you need to ditch twrp and flash 4ext recovery, especially if u are s-on. Then reflash the custom Rom of your choice, not an ruu.
I'm guessing u meant to say RUU where u said RRI files. To flash an ruu u would flash it through bootloader and would have to have a locked bootloader to do it.

here's a way to return to stock RUU, you need the all-in-one toolkit from hasoon2000
download this file Here and rename it to PH85IMG.zip (this file is for ICS) the older one for GB didnt work for me
use the "Relock Bootloader" command on hasoon's toolkit to relock your bootloader (i received a security warning when doing so, but still worked)
place the PH85IMG.zip file on the root of your SD Card
turn off device and remove the battery. Reinsert the battery then simultaneously hold the volume down and power buttons (to boot fastboot)
Fastboot will detect the image file on your external storage. After it loads, accept the "update" - this will revert you to stock (including recovery and radio).

simple solution
Step 1: Boot phone into bootloader by removing battery then placing battery back in phone then turning phone on by holding VOL down and Power button
Step 2: use hansoons AIO toolkit while in bootloader to flash 4EXT recovery
Step 3: boot into recovery and use 4EXT's to mount your phone to the PC using their "toggle USB storage" feature which lets you access your SD card while in recovery
Step 4: place another ROM on your phone, and then disconnect phone from PC
Step 5: do a full system wipe before you flash new rom, Format DATA SYSTEM CACHE+DELVIK
Step 6: FLASH Rom you placed on SD CARD previously
Step 7: After flashing rom successfully go back into 4ext recovery or download 4ext recovery control, and make a NANDROID backup in-case you fk **** up later or again
STEP 8 ( HIT THAT THANKS )

Wait, you are confusing me now. Are you trying to flash a custom Rom or do you want to return to stock and flash an RUU? Two totaly different processes
And to answer your question you would use hasoon's toolkit to flash 4ext

Well since u are already unlocked and have a custom recovery u may as well try and get a custom Rom flashed since flashing an RUU will require u to relock your bootloader.
So start out by using hasoons toolkit and flash 4ext.

yes you can flash any custom ICS/JB rom as long as your using 4EXT recovery with smart flash enabled with S-ON.. but i'm not sure if there's any JB rom's for the amaze with DATA working, CM9/10 AOKP all have problems with the data , if you want JB you might have to go with JB ICS themed rom.. like Fourth Bar Infusion.. i think Speed Rom also..

Help Bootloop!!! Tried every method available on this forum!!!!

I recently unlocked my HTC EVO 3D GSM (HBOOT 1.53.0007 S-ON) (I have revolutionary cwm v4.0.1.4 recovery) the htcdev way and flashed the paranoid android 3 unofficial ROM without making a backup. This got my phone into a bootloop. I have tried many ways to get out of the bootloop: by flashing LeeDroid 3D v5.3.0 ROM or the stock EU rooted ROM or the KingCobra 3D ICS 1.2 ROM (i've tried to flash the boot.img with all these ROMs but go no luck). I've tried to S-OFF using this method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1743466 but I could not because of the bootloop.
Now I don't know what to do If anyone knows how to get out of this mess then please help me. I would really appreciate it.

My phone is GSM Unlocked. Its not bound to any carrier.I am from Asia.
What ROM would you suggest?

If you get it to boot, s-on with htcdev, flash recovery, do a backup, s-off with wiretrick (go to unlimited.io, all the required files and a guide is there) and finally downgrade hboot -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172 and I recommend to flash 4ext touch recovery since I have never had any problems with it. After hboot downgrade go into recovery and wipe all partitions except sdcard. Flash the jb rom and gapps and you're done. It's as easy as that.

not sure if you found your answer or just gave up but just restore your back up in recovery and you'll be fine. did you make a back up?
The reason you cant get out of boot loops is because you need s-off.
Do the wire trick it will work. I've done it several times successfully. Try to find the YouTube video of max doing it from evo evohacks.com
I think that will narrow your search on you tube.
Once you have s-off you must downgrade your hboot. 1.53 will cause boot loops. No matter what you do
Below ill attach a link that will help you. And I imagine you'll get the error in bootloader. The link has instructions for what to do if that happens. Use the fastboot oem 11111 command or whatever it is. It will work I assure you. Its really easy. Then you can flash away
Don't forget to hit the thank button!

Unbranded HTC Amaze stuck on Home Screen!!!!

Hey Guys,
I just bought a brand new HTC Amaze unbranded (without any carrier branding). Now I tried updating the phone to ICS but unfortunately no official ICS update is available. I have a version where I get to choose south asian languages at start up, I don't know if this would help.
Anyways, I tired rooting my phone through the following method:
1- Unlocked the bootloader via HTCDev method.
2- Flashed the 4eXT recovery via Hasoon2000 tool kit, after which I had the SuperSU app on my phone.
3- Flashed Cyanogenmod 10 Nightly ROM (Latest available on their website).
The installation was successful, however when the phone boots up to the Home screen it works fine for precisely 10secs and then it freezes and reboots and this happens until I remove the battery. However if the phone boots up to the Home page and I do not unlock the phone it would not go off, but will freeze and reboot once I unlock!!. My phone is still S-ON. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to fix it.
Thanks

HTC Amaze stuck in Boot animation NO go!!

Hello All,
After reading a loads of treads and posts and trying a loads of thing.. I am finally posting my problem here..
My HTC amaze was working perfectly fine with the stock ROM.. Until i though about trying the Revolution HD ROM. This is where it all went wrong.
I did a clean wipe and flashed the ROM through 4ext recovery. The phone got stuck in boot animation screen for hours (I literally dozed off waiting for the screen to come back on, 3 hours i must say) Then i used my stock ROM to get back but NO go, it didn't help, As advised i did a super wipe and then tried re-installing the ROM NO go, Then I tried to go back to stock ICS ROM NO go, then I was advised to downgrade to GB stock and then try but that also didn't help me in any ways..
Now I am stuck with a phone which has the Recovery working, the Bootloader works fine the internal and external sd card show me the content perfectly but then the only thing missing is the phone powering up to an Interface the ROM DOESN'T boot up and it's stuck in the Boot animation screen..
Please help me as this is the device i have to use on a daily basis.. I really love the phone and can't see it just getting wasted for nothing...
Kindly provide your inputs on what can be done..
Did you make sure smart flash was on so that it would also flash the kernel?

U must be s-on still..looks like kernel didnt flash...^that guy is right..turn the smart flash on in ext4 recovery setting and reflash the rom ...
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I am S off and the smart flash is On in the 4ext recovery..
I tried to flash multiple times first the ROM then the kernel but it's jus getting stuck at boot loader.
I have waited long enough to make sure that the first boot takes it's time to start up but it isn't..
The phone is S 0ff bootloader unlocked from htc dev and also has smart flash enabled on 4ext recovery..
Do u all this i should try the unbrick thread and follow th instruction there to see if i can revive my phone..

You don't need smart flash enabled if your S-Off. Disable smart flash and flash a kernel.
Phone back on and working on VIPER ROM...

Thanks a loads for supporting me through but it looks like the Revlution ROM was jus not made for my phone.. Will miss it but I was able to Get it working fine with the Viper ROM pretty strange i did not change anything between flashing the Revolution ROM and the Viper ROM.. The phone is back up now and running fine...
I would sincerely want to thank PeterC18st for all the help and instruction you provided during the time of crisis :good:
Anytime. Sorry things didn't work out man.
You know, you may have just gotten a bad download of the rom and just need to redownload it. Happens more often than one would think
Back to the desk again..

This might sound funny but The phone loads on to an interface of the ROM with only Viper ROM and no other ROM i mean no other ROM..
I tried moving it back to the Stock didn't happen.. Energy -- no ways it moves agead of the boot animation, Speed Rom it does the same thing..
Now what do u think i should Do with this phone.. Viper Rom also starts to crash after like 2 hours of using..
What could possible be wrong with this Phone...

before flashing any rom do a full wipe (format everything except sd card) maybe your missing that :/
Viper comes with a kernel.. That's why it worked
Otherwise
Flash a rom then flash kernel THEN reboot. Unless the room will work with your current kernel.
Or do an ruu that you have renamed PH85IMG.zip (search proper naming as it's caSe SENSItivE) and have it placed on the root of the external Sd. (bootloader must be relocked before too)
.. Reboot to bootloader it will start automatically...
If you don't want to flash ruu please remember
... You must disable smart flash in 4ext (also update 4ext from within the app.. Not recovery ) to flash roms if you are s-off
A lot of people have not updated 4ext and the newest version had some important information and fixes.!!

I do it religiously every time before flashing a ROM... OKie... i got to know something which happened to my phone.. my cousin was playing game on it.. and she saw some upgrade waiting and pressed it but it never went through.. (This is when i was having a stock ROM on it) and then i thought the stock ROM had issues and i tried flashing the Revolution ROM... Well I guess my cousin triggered the update and she said it didn't go through so she switched off the phone and never told me about it.. Under my current situation the only Rom that boots up is Viper Rom and no other ROM has been able to boot up.. And in Viper Rom the phone process gets a Force close... Acore process get force close and many more like that..

Thanks for the info... Let me give this also a try.. and will let you know...
Jus a question though Well we jus need to re-lock the boot loader right and not S-On the phone again ?? (Though i don't know how to S -ON it)
I tried to re-lock the boot loader and i guess it was successful with the following error:
C:\Amaze\data>fastboot oem lock
...
(bootloader) Lock successfully...
(bootloader) TZ_HTC_SVC_DISABLE ret = -131073 (0xFFFDFFFF)
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
finished. total time: 0.950s
C:\Amaze\data>
**Also every time i flash the stock my internal storage needs to be formatted when i flash recovery and toggle USB device.
***I disabled the Smart flash, cleared the storage except sd card and then flashed the Revolution ROM and Faux kernel V29 ... Still no Go..

There is a link in the ARHD thread for the ICS upgrade. It might be worth your while to start with a complete wipe. Falsh ICS firmware update. Flash new radio and hboot update (I didn't have to relock my bootloader either). Flash rom of your choice (I personaaly prefer viper LOL) then reboot and see what you get!
**Also I would recommend using 4ext recovery!

I relocked the bootloader and tried again with the zip file i have which used to work perfect before but it didn;t help me and was stuck in boot animantion screen sayin ANDROID 4G didn't move ahead for 1 hour. I had to unlock the bootloader again.. But there looks like no way i would get back to the stock ROM. So after unlocking it now it back to UNlocked... but again I have to start from scratch..

In my pursuit for finding a ROM that works fully with my Amaze i landed up in MIMU ROM it works in every way but i really got my HTC amaze to enjoy the HTC sense..

Firmware
--- With 4.x ROMs I strongly recommend flashing above firmware ---
--- Place PH85IMG.zip on the root of your SD card and boot into bootloader mode ---
--- This package contains newest radio and rcdata ---
--- MD5 Checksum: FD324E130464245C84275902377527F8 ---
--- Using a "non matched" radio could have a negative effect on performance, battery life & signal strength ---
--- You don't have to flash RIL files for recommended radio. It's already in the ROM ---
after you do that one, do this one. Place on external sdcard, boot into bootloader and follow instructions on screen from there. I did not relock my bootloader to do this...

**I flashed the zip file following your instructions and then installed Energy ROM.. It didn't work but you can see the logs attached for your reference..
